After Breakfast at the hotel, we will take the train ride to Aguas Calientes, once there, you will go exploring the 7th Wonder of the Modern World, Machu Picchu. It is sure to be one of the most memorable experiences of your lifetime. Feel free to enjoy this marvelous Incan masterwork that was built centuries ago. Some of the recommended sites to visit are House of the Guardian, the Intihuatana, the Temple of the Sun, and the Sacred Plaza. This is your opportunity to soak up some of the atmospheres of this magical place. Soon it will be time to go back down to Aguas Calientes and catch your train back to Cusco. Your train ride to Cusco will be aboard the Expedition Train. Upon your arrival at the Poroy station, you will be picked up and driven back to your hotel.
A very long day but the detailed planning by our guide Edwardo ensured it all ran smoothly and seamlessly. He was always on hand to ensure his extensive knowledge of the area was given to us. My husband became ill with altitude sickness at the end if the day and Edwardo was very attentive and ensured all avenues for the care of my husband had been covered before he left the hotel.
Out tour leader Luis Velarde has been a gem from day 1 at the Amazon jungle. He has gone far and beyond with his care with 14 participants.

Awesome holiday in Peru. Oscar was our tour leader for the 13 days while we were travelling around Peru. He was very informative, polite and helpful to our group. His organisation skill and caring attitude made our trip memorable. Machu Picchu was breath taking. The colours of Rainbow Mountain were stunning! The views from the train were absolutely beautiful. If we ever come back to Peru, will definitely try to have Oscar as our guide.

Our visit to Machu Picchu was truly one of the most extraordinary days of our lives and that was largely thanks to our wonderful guide, Elizabeth. From the moment we met her, she brought warmth, knowledge and genuine passion to every part of the experience. Her storytelling made the history of the Incas come alive in a way that felt deeply personal and meaningful. Learning about the Inca messenger runners carrying knotted rope messages across the Andes, the spiritual beliefs represented by the condor, puma and snake, and the traditions honouring Pachamama (Mother Earth) added such depth to the visit. Elizabeth shared history with such clarity and enthusiasm, but she also had a beautiful way of weaving in personal stories about her mother and grandmother, helping us understand the cultural traditions that still exist in Peru today. It made the entire experience feel authentic and deeply connected to the land we were standing on. When we reached our first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu, Elizabeth allowed us time to pause and absorb the moment before guiding us through the site with fascinating insights about its construction, history and rediscovery. Her knowledge was exceptional, yet she shared it in such a natural and engaging way that it never felt like a lecture, more like walking through history with a friend who truly loves what she does. She also made sure we noticed the small details we might otherwise have missed, from the water mirrors in the House of the Chosen Women to the incredible engineering used by the Incas to shape the stones and build the city. By the end of the day we felt not only that we had seen Machu Picchu, but that we had truly understood its story. Elizabeth is an extraordinary guide, knowledgeable, thoughtful, passionate and kind. This was a once in a lifetime bucket list opportunity for my partner . The day started with the Observatory Train ride (separate review). On disembarking we were met by Elizabeth from Valencia Tours. We took the classic route 1&2 routes. She was friendly polite and most important of all knowledgable she see multiple methods of getting over the information, but not in a traditional stuffy guide way- she used personal reflection and knowledge to bring Macchu Picchu to life thereby enhancing the visit even further she was happy to take photos to ensure we had the best of memories of our visit. This tour and particularly Elizabeth are highly recommended.

From the door of our hotel to dropping us back off after a long day, this is an unforgettable tour. Miguel and the driver picked us up and took us to the panoramic train, gave us all our details and made sure we set off enjoying the views as we headed to the bus pick up for Machu Picchu. We were met by the wonderful Elizabeth who made the whole experience of Circuit 2 incredible in a once in a lifetime opportunity. Her knowledge, care and guidance was perfect. She ensured we had so many great spots for photos, talked about all the history and areas around this sacred spot. Took us back to town and recommended restaurants and areas to enjoy before we headed back on the train where our driver was waiting to take us back to our hotel. Oscar and his team of local guides did an excellent job coordinating the trip making easy to relax. The local knowledge and insights were great to learn about and tips to take advantage of while nothing was too difficult for the team to help us with. We were a group of 28, which is not easy but our tour guide, Oscar Palomino from Valencia Travel was fantastic. Knowledgeable, patient and incredibly organised. Our trip of 13 days overall which was all of Peru, was terrific. The only thing that was hard on some days was the early starts because there was a lot packed in the 13 days. The hotels, particularly the Jose Antonio in Lima but especially the Lake Titikaka was great. Many thanks Oscar for being such a great tour guide!

Words cannot express how amazing this once in a lifetime experience was. We were blessed to have Elizabeth as our guide too who was the kindest, friendliest and most knowledgeable guide. Elizabeth encapsulated this special day for us with incredible photos and gave us tips on how to best experience Peru to the fullest with delicious dish recommendations, other things to do and see as well. As I was pregnant during my trip I was always ensured I was ok and had a safe tour. We made a good pace when on site and had great conversations! We got to see lots of beautiful wildlife and very lucky with the weather as it was wet season but on our day we did not have rain on arrival. Thank you Elizabeth for amazing experience! The train ride was amazing too - lovely live music and dancing with the people on board. We even got some complimentary snacks on board which was a nice touch!
Lovedthis day. We booked the train ride up to Machu Picchu. Miguel our first guy picked us up in a car and took a summer hour journey up to the train station. We boarded the train which was a lovely experience and we were very looked after the views from the train were absolutely gorgeous. Once we arrived, Elizabeth our guide met us and took us on a tour around Machu Picchu. She was absolutely fantastic and very informative. So happy that we booked a guide and didn’t walk round on our own. She later came back with us on the bus and brought us to the nearby town and recommended a good lunch spot. We then caught a bus back to Cuzco where Miguel picked us up and brought us back to our hotel. Cannot fault the day it was so good.

We went on a 4 day tour to Cusco. We had Aldo as our tour guide. He was so attentive and knowledgeable showing us around the city. This included the Inca city, larma farm followed by Machu Pichu. We couldnt recommend highly enough this trip but more importantly our guide Aldo who made it so easy. We have been on a number of guided tours with both trip a deal and others and by far Aldo and our Cusco experience has the been the best!
