I love food tours as a first stop in a new place because you get to see ALOT! As a solo traveler, it’s always nice to get my bearings and have some friendly conversations before diving into the rest of what a place has to offer. And I absolutely loved this food tour! Our guide, Kaiser, was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and kind, a genuinely lovely person to spend four hours exploring Cusco with. He shared so much history and connected the foods we tried with Inca traditions and the city’s culture, which made the experience feel like much more than just a food tour. Everything was delicious, from tamales and ceviche to fresh fruit at the market, traditional Peruvian drinks, and dessert. There were just two of us on the tour, so it felt personal and relaxed, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions. We covered a lot of ground, but the pace was comfortable throughout. One of my favorite parts was visiting San Blas. It was so charming, and I’m already planning to go back tomorrow. Kaiser’s warmth and enthusiasm made the whole experience special. And he had so much to share! Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience Cusco through its food, history, and culture.

Go there hungry, you‘ll leave stuffed! Carla is a lovely guide with good information and experience
The guide was good. But the overall experience needs to be improved. I have been to over 20+ food tours around the world as it's the best way to know a culture. But this tour was a little disappointing. For the amount they charge they don't even include a water bottle. The portions are small which is fine as you are tasting various foods but for the price I'd have expected at least 2 cocktails or beers as Cusco has a lot of cool bars and restaurants. We had 4 different teas and one of them was extremely sweet and had to send it back twice. I've done tours cheaper than this that had a variety of drinks included. I did the same tour with them in Lima and have similar feedback. Perhaps, look at some of the other great food tours in other cities and improve on the quality of restaurants and bars. I'd recommend exploring Cusco on your own as there are so many great restaurants I found online because they haven't provided even a list of recommendations neither in Lima or Cusco.
Rodrigo is an excellent tour guide and very knowledgeable of the culture and history of the city.
This was a fun and delicious tour! Our guide, Carla, was easy to understand and felt genuinely happy to be there. One walking part was a little bit of a tough climb, so be aware if you struggle with that. Overall we’d highly recommend!
Carla was an exceptional guide! Knowledgeable about the area and the food, and so much fun to spend the afternoon with. Highly recommended.
I am so glad that we decided to do this tour! Rodrigo was a fantastic guide, I can not say enough great things about him. He was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, a great storyteller - touching not just on the food, but the architecture and ancient ruins as we passed through the streets, cultural implications, etc. It was just my friend and I on our tour which led to a more private, intimate experience which was a nice surprise. Very well paced, a good amount and variety of food, and organized to guide the information. Would definitely recommend this food tour, we left it with a greater appreciation and understanding of Cusco (and Peru at large) and its rich history!
Carla was such a great tour guide! We loved all the food and enjoyed learning about the cities culture from someone who truly loves Cusco. We were so full by the end of the tour. So many delicious snacks, meals, and desserts. Definitely worth the money.
The walking food tour of Cusco was amazing. We started off in the Local market, and then some amazing local restaurants around the central area. Our tour guide Carla was excellent. She was extremely knowledgeable about food, locally and in general, and helped to ensure we had an amazing experience! I highly recommend it. 5/5
Carla was amazing! So passionate and so kind. She showed us all the best food spots and gave an insight into the culture through food. She shared personal experiences and was also curious about foods from our countries. What a lovely experience!
My tour guide was amazing. Very knowledgeable and kind, did everything as expected and ate a lot! I suggest you going on an empty stomach
We had a wonderful experience on the Andean food and city tour in Cusco! We got to try so many delicious local dishes, including ceviche, adobo, alpaca meat, and different exotic fruits at San Pedro Market. Carla was absolutely amazing: kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly perfect for this job. She explained everything with passion, told us a lot about Peruvian food and culture, and also gave us many useful recommendations for the rest of our stay in Cusco. A great way to discover the city and its food at the same time. Highly recommended!
It was the best tour we ever received! Kaiser was a great engaged guide and we could talk to him about anything! Restaurants and food was excellent and good ampunt.
We had a great tour with Carla. There was more than enough delicious food and plenty of variety. Carla gave a lot of additional background on the foods we tried and others and we fit lots into our 4 hour tour.
The tour of Cusco's food and market was fantastic and Carla's insight ,guidance and commentary was very interesting.
Wow! What a wonderful tour. Carla was our guide and her passion for food and Peru is palpable. We did the morning tour - if you are doing that do not eat before, you will be so full during the tour! Loved trying so many different things & getting to experience Cusco. Thank you for the amazing time!
Our tour guide Carla was amazing, told us a lot of nice information about Peru 😊
Carla was an excellent guide, she loves food, knows a lots of stuff about it here in Cusco and she was very kind and considerable. The menu was perfect! I can only recommend this food tour.
Overall it was a good tour. We didn’t eat too much food, but they learn a lot about the city of Cusco. We started at the market and had some indigenous fresh fruits, I got some history about the market. Then we went to a restaurant and learned about ceviche and how it is made here. We also had a tasting of some pork adobo, alpaca steak, a few different types of drinks like tea and juices, along with fermented corn drinks, and a little dessert. It was very interesting and things I would not have tried all my own. The history part of Cusco was very interesting but it was a little disappointing for the price paid with so few tastings.
I had a great time, would recommend. Carla my guide was super nice and knowledgable, the different tasting were well thought out. It is a great way to experience the city and culture all rolled into a single easy to do package.
Did this tour on a day of torrential rain, which could easily have ruined it. Clara kept the group’s spirits up and never let the weather dictate the mood. She gave us a solid overview of Cusco’s food culture — the stops were well chosen and well sequenced, and included places we’d never have found on our own. Good value and worth doing.
Carla was so good! Great variety of dishes we got to try.
Excellent variety of foods, all of high quality. Generous portions, but not too much. My pescatarian wife was very happy with her substitutions. Good information both on food and the area and culture more generally. Carla was first-rate.
We had the best evening exploring the streets of beautiful Cusco and tasting all the local cuisine. Carla was so helpful and knowledgeable and made the experience very enjoyable. She answered all the questions we had and brought us to the market and various restaurants where we sampled the delicious food. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is looking to explore the streets of Cusco and have a wonderful dining experience. Thank you so much Carla!
A unique experience to learn more and try Peruvian food in the amazing city of Cusco with our guide Carla.
We had a fantastic walk through the city of Cusco, with wonderful and delicious stops along the way. Our guide was fantastic and paced the walk well, but also the food was nicely spread out. Lots of value for money.
Our food tour with Carla was incredible and will likely be a highlight of our trip. Carla was extremely knowledgeable and taught us so much about Cusco and Peru. We got to try a wide variety of food with the perfect portion sizes, although definitely go into it hungry!! Excellent value for money with the amount of time, food and essentially walking tour of the city. DO IT!
Today I joined the Gastronomic Tour in Cusco with our guide, Carla, and it was absolutely incredible. The food was delicious, I learned so much about Peruvian cuisine, and the group dynamic made the experience even more enjoyable. At first, it seems like you'll be eating a lot, but the portions are perfectly sized. Between each stop, you take a walk, which gives you time to digest and makes room for the next tasting. They also serve digestive teas and drinks along the way, so you never feel overly full. Carla is a fantastic guide who shares plenty of interesting facts about Peruvian cuisine and culture. She creates a relaxed and fun atmosphere, and the tour never feels rushed. If you're visiting Cusco, I highly recommend this tour. It's a wonderful way to discover the city's food scene while learning about the local culture. :-)
My partner and I honestly had the best time with Carla on our food tour in Cusco. The Andean dishes and drinks were unique, diverse and well sequenced.
I had a wonderful time on this food tour! I booked it solo and got to meet great people who were so fun to spend the evening with. Carla was a knowledgeable, friendly, and personable tour guide. She answered all our questions and then some! She navigated us through the busy city center during the June celebrations. The spots she chose were delicious - I especially loved the ceviche restaurant and tamale stand she brought us too. Everything went smoothly and we got a good walk and dinner in :) would definitely recommend.
Carla was an amazing tour guide. We learned about Cusco, the culture and the foods that the local Cuscans eat. The food was all delicious and we particularly liked the walks between stops seeing different parts of Cusco. Highly recommend
Wonderful 4 hour tour of Cusco with food and drink stops along the way. Our guide Carla was knowledgeable, friendly and fun!
We had the pleasure of doing this culinary tour in Cusco with Carla, and it was an unforgettable experience! Carla is an incredibly warm and passionate guide who genuinely loves sharing the culture and traditions of her country. Throughout the tour, we tasted a wide variety of local specialties, and every single one was absolutely delicious, not a single disappointment! The places selected were carefully chosen, and everywhere we went we received such a warm welcome. Over the course of these 4 hours, we truly indulged ourselves and learned so much along the way. It’s impossible to leave this tour hungry! A huge thank you again to Carla, we highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Cusco. Bonus: you also get to enjoy a little sightseeing around the city during the tour!
We had the chance to join this gastronomic tour and it turned out to be a really enjoyable and memorable experience. From start to finish, everything felt very well organized, and the selection of places visited was thoughtfully curated. Each stop offered something different, allowing us to explore a variety of local flavors and get a better sense of the city’s food scene in a very authentic way. What we appreciated the most was how smooth and relaxed the experience felt. It never felt rushed, and there was a nice balance between tasting, learning, and simply enjoying the moment. The atmosphere throughout the tour was very pleasant, making it easy to connect with the experience and fully enjoy each stop. A special mention goes to our guide, Fabricio, who did an excellent job. He was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable, always making sure everyone in the group felt comfortable and engaged. His energy and professionalism definitely made a big difference in the overall experience. Overall, it’s a great option for anyone looking to discover local gastronomy in a genuine and enjoyable way. We would happily recommend this experience to our clients and anyone visiting the city.
You start from the market and go up to San Blas, with a lot of ground covered in between to taste authentic and eat food and visit the city. Our guide Ana was super nice and a bottomless pit of knowledge. Just book and enjoy the flavors and sightseeing!
What an amazing tour! The tour guide Carla met me on time and was super friendly. She gave a lot of information about local history and Peruvian culture through out the tour. She also checked in a lot to make sure the pace of walking and distance felt good since the elevation can be difficult if you’re not used to it! We tried a lot of different foods and I felt that the tour around parts of Cusco will really act as a springboard for my own adventures now that I feel more familiar and comfortable with it. Every place we went was warm and welcoming. I am so glad I did this tour and would recommend it to everyone interested in trying new foods and learning more about Peruvian culture! It was wonderful!
What a beautiful way to experience Cusco’s food and traditions all in one glimpse! The options we tried were absolutely delicious, with outstanding flavors and quality. Every place we visited clearly reflects local, family-run businesses, each with its own story and passion behind what they do. Our tour conductor was incredibly kind and knowledgeable about the local culture, which made the experience even more special. I 100% recommend this tour!
Great guide Abel! Great information and very polite!
This tour was one of the highlights of my time in Cusco. It’s the perfect mix of food, culture, and local insight—far more than just a typical tasting experience. We tried an incredible variety of dishes super traditional of the Peruvian culture. One of my favorites was the San Pedro Market, where you really get to see local life in action and our guide was the BEST - he was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about his country and culture, so it felt less like a tour and more like exploring the city with a local friend. The walking portion was a nice cultural layer and the stops are key points in the city, so I highly recommend it!
Carla is very nice and guides the tour very well. The dishes are well-served and tasty, great value for money.
Magnificent experience, from beginning to end!
A very good experience. Carla was very attentive and willing to help. We ate very well
After our 4-day hike on the Inca Trail, we just wanted to have a good time the day after. In a travel blog, I had read about the food tour through Cusco and booked it several weeks before our trip via GetYourGuide. Good thing we had taken the advice to not eat anything before the tour. Spoiler: please take note, you will need to be hungry. We were met by our tour guide Carla in front of the San Pedro train station. On our tour, there were only two of us, as no one else had signed up besides us. The food trip through Cusco lasted exactly as stated from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Carla first led us through the San Pedro market, where we were allowed to try various fresh fruits like lúcuma, cherimoya, and physalis at a stand. After this appetizer, we continued toward the Plaza de Armas, where we tried savory tamales. Near the Santo Domingo convent, we were first able to watch how fresh ceviche is prepared at the restaurant Sepia. Afterward, we were allowed to taste the portion including chicha morada. A few blocks further, we discovered a totally underrated dish: Adobo. With that, there was tea again and a shot for better digestion. The last main course in another restaurant in San Blas was alpaca skewer with choclo and potatoes. As for drinks, tea and chicha de jora awaited us again. For a sweet finish, we tried a typical budin including tea. During our tour, the nice Carla provided us with interesting information about Cusco. She showed us very beautiful places in the city center that offered a beautiful view over the city, especially at night. All the food and drinks that were served to us were absolutely fresh, typically Peruvian, and delicious. Without Carla, we would never have tried adobo, for example. In retrospect, we cannot even say what our highlight was. The tour as a whole was perfect. The four hours flew by. Everything went smoothly, we always felt safe and well taken care of. All selected locations were also very clean and there were multiple opportunities to use restrooms. Finally, we would like to expressly thank Carla for this beautiful conclusion in Cusco. Once again: Price-performance ratio is top-notch. We recommend this experience 100%.
Very interesting experience, through the streets of Cuzco, tasting typical dishes in places outside the most well-known areas. The tour begins at the San Pedro market, where the guide will have you taste 4 types of local fruits and will take you on a tour of the market, explaining in detail the various areas and the characteristics of the foods found there. It then continues with a street food stop and several stops at local restaurants, all very characteristic. The group consists of 10 people, the explanation is in English. The guide, Carla, was very professional, kind, and helpful. We also appreciated that vegetarian alternatives had been planned (and already prepared) for us. Excellent tour, recommended!
We did the gastronomic tour in Cusco with Carla, an incredible experience, one hundred percent recommended, everything was delicious and Carla was charming.
An incredible experience, the tour is excellent! I want to especially highlight Carla's work, she was an exceptional and super professional guide. 100% recommended.
We took a 4-hour food tour with Carla through Cusco yesterday. Carla was very passionate, very likable, and gave us a lot of information about the food and the region. The 4 hours flew by and we had a great time. The meals/drinks were very varied and extremely delicious. The walk through the San Pedro market and the demonstration of the ceviche preparation were also great. Overall 100% recommendation.
