I wasn't impressed with this tour. The guide was fine, but the itinerary was different, they added a stop, and it was supposed to take 5 hours instead of the specified 3.5 hours they said on Viator. They said they were going to start at Sacsayhuaman then go to the Cathedral and follow on to Qorikancha, but instead we started at the Cathedral then went to Qorikancha and on to Sacsayhuaman and the other stop. We decided to end the tour early because the extended time was going to interfere with other plans we had made for that day. I think that sticking with timeline and itinerary advertised is important as people plan their vacation itinerary based on this info provided.

Itinerary
Sacsayhuaman, perched on a hill on the northern outskirts of Cusco, with a wonderful view over Cusco, UNESCO World Heritage-listed Sacsayhuaman boasts massive stones – measuring up to 13 feet (4 meters) tall – placed tightly together, creating a fortress-like structure. Walk around learning about the site's history. Marvel at the way the Incans built the site so soundly, and admire the different shapes and sizes of the stones, some of which have designs of the condor, puma and snake, symbols of the three Incan worlds. Hop back on your coach and head to Qenqo, where you’ll see the ancient temple of Puma and its sacrificial altar, and then continue to Puca Pucara, a site of military ruins that was once used for defense of the Inca Empire. Next visit the archaeological site of Tambomachay, where a series of aqueducts, canals and waterfalls may have been a spa resort of wealthy Incans,
When your tour of Cusco’s surrounding sites is over, head back to the city, where you’ll visit its main square – the beautiful Plaza de Armas. Here you’ll see two striking churches – Cusco Cathedral and the Church of the Society of Jesus. Tour Cusco Cathedral with your guide, learning about its rich history and admiring its exquisite late-Gothic and Baroque architecture. See some of its renowned art, including Pintura Senor de los Temblores, the oldest surviving painting in Cusco.
Tour of the Temple of the Sun Qorikancha, over which the Santo Domingo Convent was built, the legend says that this Temple was completely gold plated, which amazed the conquerors when they first arrived.

Great time! Learned a whole ton. Dress for ever changing weather! We booked it last minute and they were able to fit us into a group and it was an amazing time!
Jonathan was sn excellent informative knowledgeable guide who made it easy to be interested snd to learn. Highly recommend him and his company.
We had the sweetest and most wonderful guide. As we toured Spanish cathedrals and Incan ruins, she described each breathtaking sight with enthusiasm, humor, and panache. She gasped “A guardian!” at the sight of an Andean thrush near a sacred cave. You can’t fake that level of excitement, and you can’t help but feel it yourself when you see it on display. I’m so grateful for this experience, and you will be, too!
Our Guide was deeply knowledgeable, with strong ideas even about some of the more controversial aspects of Incan culture and engineering. Her should know; he's a descendent! His presentation was incredibly lively and engaging, even riveting; a master storyteller.
I had an excellent tour of the city and the immediate outskirts (Sacsahuayman) and I cannot say enough about the thorough knowledge of my guide. I was working on a very particular project and he immediately tailored my tour to fit my interests. An exceptional experience!!
This tour was a perfect way to explore the areas around Cusco beyond the city center. The pacing was just right—not rushed at all—with several well-timed stops that gave us a deeper appreciation of the region. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made the entire experience engaging for everyone in the group. We had a nice mix of travelers, including a small child, and the team was very accommodating to all ages and needs. It really felt like a personalized and thoughtful experience. Highly recommend this tour if you're looking for a well-organized and enriching half-day adventure in Cusco!
The highlight of the day for us was going to Sascayhuman where the mysteries of those massive blocks that are intricately carved and placed together just takes your breath away. The place has a wonderful air of calm and spirituality.
I did not know that I also had to buy additional tickets for the tour. On the day of the tour I received a text telling me in order to join the tour I need to spend an additional 290 soles. So all in all I paid $98.00 to this company and another 290 soles for the tour. I am demanding a refund. Because I ended up walking to the tour destination. Nobody picked us up per the 98 dollar cost.
The important thing to highlight was that despite being advertised as 3.5 hours, it was 6.5 from start to finish. The first venue didn't allow any photography (including with mobiles) and the second was restrictive on the same. This didn't affect my enjoyment, but is something to consider. Now none of the above would I consider a negative for me personally. The guide was fantastic, even though her job was essentially herding cats ;) and well versed in all that was asked. English was also very good. Definitely something I'd recommend to others coming to Cusco!
We had a wonderful time on this tour and learned so much from our fantastic guide who was cheerful, knowledgable, and hilarious. She absolutely made this tour for us. Some of the logistics of the tour could use a little tweaking, like just having everyone meet in the square instead of doing individual pickups. There was a small snafu with some tickets to get into some of the sites that may be a website issue. The tour also ended up including extra sites which we were thrilled to see but wished we knew ahead of time so we could plan better for dinner. All in all, it was a wonderful way to see the rich history that Cusco has to offer!
Great tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and interesting. I highly recommend this tour before doing the big ones.
The places were great and exactly what I was into, offering a memorable, enjoyable experience overall.
The sites selected were nice, but not what was advertised and we would have preferred an honest approach when we were being carted to purchase from his friends.
Rommel had a lot of knowledge and you could feel the passion for what he does. He was able to share a lot of incredible information about some of the ruins in Cusco as well as Cusco itself. We saw several sights that I wouldn't have seen without this tour! A few things I would adjust going forward is booking English speaking tours and Spanish speaking tours separately. It would save time and likely end the tour at the 3.5 hour mark rather than 4 or 4.5. While I love the convenience of being picked up at my hotel, I would also say to have a main meeting point in the main Cusco square for easier pick up and to ensure the tour starts on time. That being said Rommel was very professional given all the beginning setbacks we had and I was very impressed.
Great tour to get to see all Inca sights in Cusco. Tour actually was closer to 5 hours. Tour prices may not include park and church admission fees. Expect to pay an estimated 140 soles more if your tour does not include admission fees.
The tour guide came on time to pick us. He was very polite. Thank you for sharing your Inca history knowledge made our journey truly memorable.
A good tour, but not a great tour. It went on a little too long and it was annoying that we needed to buy tickets to each site. The best price of the tour worthy Baca and Temple of the sun in Cusco and the first two archaeological sites above Cusco. Could’ve stopped there and would’ve been great.
We had an enjoyable experience at the city tour. Mr Alvaro Jimenez was our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and provided us with a detailed history and significance of the sites. Highly recommend this tour ! Also please ask for Mr Alvaro as your guide.
We were very disappointed in this experience. Apparently they forgot to pick us up for the tour. We had to use our hotel concierge and they realized they had left us and brought the taxi to the second part of the tour. No apologies were made. The tour guide was OK but not extremely informative. we were actually overall very disappointed. Ended up leaving the tour early because we felt like it lasted too long for the amount of information we were gathering. Sorry we would not recommend.
Unbelievable that I would be asked for a review as we were promised to be picked up at our hotel for a 1:00 for a paid tour. We tried to contact the “tour operator” on our ticket but no one ever responded. The hotel desk also tried to call. Very disappointed. Will not likely trust Viator again. I have asked for a refund . Will see how that will be handled
We had just arrived in Cusco and this was a great way to quickly see the main sights. The guide was very knowledgeable and took his time to explain both the culture and the history of Cusco
Perfect way to explore Cusco and surrounding areas! Our tour guide Abraham went the extra mile to explain and give us historical context which made the tour a great choice if you want to make the best of your time. Highly recommended!
Our guide, Adrial, was incredibly knowledgeable and provided us with a wealth of information about the Inca Empire and Spanish colonization. Despite the pouring rain, he was dedicated to ensuring that we covered all the landmarks mentioned in the tour. This tour was definitely a must-have to start my journey in the Inca Valley. Everything I learned on this tour provided a solid foundation for the rest of my trips to Machu Picchu and other Inca Valley cities.
This tour is a great way to take in some of the historical sights around Cusco and a good way to spend one of your acclimatisation days. Alain was a great tour guide and has a vast knowledge of the sights and the history of Cusco and because it is a private tour it doesn’t feel rushed. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cusco.
This tour was fantastic! My guide was Yuber, and he was so incredibly knowledgeable, fun, energetic, and easy to talk to. We first traveled throughout the Sacsayhuaman park, where Yuber shared all about the Inca history and landmarks. After, we headed into the city and walked through some important Cusco squares and cathedrals. I had the best time and highly recommend.
Our tour guide Aracely was amazing! Even our kids - who weren’t the best behaved on the tour but Aracely took in stride - ended up saying it was one of the highlights of our time in Cusco.
The description of this tour included the words English speaking guide, and round trip pick up and delivery from hotel. Neither one happened. The entire van was filled with Spanish speaking people and the tour guide was surprised that we only spoken English. On the average for every five words, the tour guide spoke, he spoke one word to us in English. He tried his best but it was very difficult with the Spanish speaking group we had. We missed out a lot on the history and culture of Cusco and the Incas. The return trip to the hotel by the van was not offered so we had to walk. This was difficult for us since we had a meeting at a particular time.
Very much enjoyed myself! Our guide Fernando was extremely well versed in anthropology and cultural history, all the way from the cathedrals to the ancient ruins, he knew so much about every little thing and made sure we learned about it too. Very eclectic and energetic man, he kept us all in high energy and good spirits- 10/10 tour guide for sure. This was relatively well organized, although I was not "picked up", I was walked to the center square where the tour started. The Cathedral tour timing was perfect, we spent a good amount on Saqsaywaman and we voted democratically which routes we hiked etc. Afterwards we stopped at several other Incan sites- these were not mentioned in the description, but they are good add ons especially given the price. Finally, we ended at an authentic alpaca clothing store where we were taught the differences in fabrics etc. I had a lot of fun and did enjoy myself. The only area of improvement is in the description. The description says tour starts at 2, I figure maybe be ready at 1:30 earliest. I was showering when a separate guide with my tickets texted at 12:15 that he was at my hostel waiting for me. I am flexible, I hopped out quickly and met him- no worries. However, from 12:15-2, I was essentially just waiting for the tour to start once we arrived in the cathedral. I feel like it would've been easier to say "meet us in Plaza Armas at 2", because the whole pickup drop off really took a huge chunk of time, and I ended up being out from 12:15-7:15. This is way longer than the anticipated 2-6 plan, and we had no chances to eat food. Maybe it was just how things worked out this specific time, because honestly, otherwise I had a really great experience. I would totally recommend this despite my weird experience, it definitely was not bad enough to leave a negative review.
Wonderful information on culture and architecture! Stunning ruins. We had such a fun time with our guide!
1/2 a day is perfect! Nice way to get used to the altitude while slowly walking through the ruins and learning about the history. Lots of facts, beautiful views, fresh air. We really enjoyed it!
Very informative. I think it could have gone faster and then gave the tourists a chance to revisit some of those things on their own.
I felt the description was not really accurate. It says city tour and Saqsaywaman. The city tour was really a tour of a large Catholic Church and a smaller church built on Incan foundations. We then got on the bus and drove to four Incan sites above the city. We were also looking for more science based information on why the Incan walls were earthquake proof and how did they know to do this. The answers we got were less than satisfactory. Overall this tour was good, but not quite what we expected or were really looking for.
Was very informative and interesting Julio really knows his stuff, would recommend this to anyone visiting Cusco.
i thought the tour guide was extremely informative and kind. He was full of knowledge regarding every site we visited. His English was perfect and i had a really good time listening to the history and technological marvels of the Incan civilization. My only, though major, complain is that I felt like I wasted my money on the entry tickets. When we were at Sacsayhuaman, we didn't get to explore at all. There was a sign for a view point, but we didn't get to go. Based on Google Image, there is a lot to see at the top of Sacsayhuaman, and I didn't get to see that. We literally only saw the walls. Similar was true at Qenqo. We went through the cave and came right out. There was a trail around it that we didn't explore, and I saw a forest with a view, but we didn't go there either. All to say, highly recommend for informational purposes. If you are a wanderer like me, who is interested in taking the time to explore each area, this tour is not for you.
Our wonderful guide was friendly and knowledgeable and very accommodating as we learned stories of the the local buildings, people, life, food, history. We loved it and would recommend and come back!
We have been on several Viator tours in different parts of the world and have been impressed by the quality and expertise of their guides. The tour with Niko was a revelation, rich with history, humour and a clear passion for the Inca culture. It was no surprise to find out that he was previously a professor of history. He so fired up our interest and imagination that it was almost as if we were living the history of the Inca civilisation and the centuries that preceded and followed it. It was a profoundly rewarding afternoon and we left feeling immensely grateful to have had the privilege of his wisdom and knowledge.
Sites were very interesting and close by. Seemed to go by very quickly, since we were constantly seeing something new. Very different experience than other day trips from Cusco, which require a lot of driving outside of the city (which are also worthwhile). Many times we hoped on the tour bus for just a few minutes to get to the next site. Very entertaining guide! Highly recommend.
Considering people were allowed to remove stones well into the 1930's, the basic foundation of this site is still impressive as a former bastion of the Inca's. Unfortunately, the Spanish had more modern weapons and the Inca's fell. The site tops the mountain overlooking Cusco. I took a taxi up (10 Soles) and walked down afterward. Very rewarding to see!
Christa was an amazing guide! She spoke perfect English and could answer any questions thrown her way. In Piscas we stopped by a llama farm where we learned about the difference between llamas and alpacas as well as we got to feed some! Loved hearing about the Inca history and how they built the temple in Oyontitambo. Food was amazing for lunch!! 5 star buffet style food, I sampled everything and it was all so well prepared I almost didn't want to leave so soon.
This was the first activity we did in Cusco because it was only a half day and local to the city (we were still acclimatizing to the altitude). Our guide Ruben was amazing! He was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging and took several photos of my husband and I throughout the different places we visited. It was a great mix of archeological sites and churches. The pace was great and though it was only a half day, it had a full day feel with everything packed in. The pick up was smooth and the group size was small. Couldn't have asked for better!
Only a short walk up a very steep hill (or grab a taxi) but these ruins are definitely worth seeing. Go early to avoid the crowds. Some of the best close to Cusco, but obviously nothing compared to Macchu Pichu ;)
This tour was great - informative, relaxing, and beautiful views. We paid far less than TripAdvisor's estimated price by paying in cash at our small hotel front desk. We reserved the day before and there were no issues with availability.
Had a great tour. Our guide, "Yuri"....he's really Peruvian....was knowledgeable, shared lots of insights into the actual sites, Inca culture, possible construction techniques (how can anyone be CERTAIN how they fit such massive stones together so precisely), and overall, made the tour more than just a visit to archeological ruins.
This is a good tour to take on one of your acclimation days in Cusco. They come get you from your hotel and we went sort of at a leisurely pace to all the different sites so it’s not too stressful if you’re not feeling 100% yet. Nico, our guide, was full of knowledge and shared with us pretty much the entire time. I believe this tour is a bit pricey compared to what you might find once you’re in town but if you take into consideration that you’re getting door to door service and entry tickets are included, it’s probably comparable. Definitely recommend this tour if you want an easy way to see most of the important city sites with minimal effort.
Great day trip. Covers all the sites and is fascinating. I'd preferred more time in the cathedral, but was pleased with this tour.
I honestly dislike saying anything negative about tours because I’m such an easy person and am happy with what I’m given. However, we were traveling as a group of 6 and we all unanimously agree this tour is not worth it. We zoomed through historic sites and we were ignored for a large portion of the trip. Many of us were still being acclimated, needing a little extra time to breathe and get some water. We were not given a chance. We tried to take pictures only to see the group miles ahead of us as we huff and puff for our breathe. Also the light headed ness. We were suppose to be a large group but it seem as though the tour guide was only catering to the individuals ahead of us. It was so bad we finally ended up getting off after the third site as we did not want to continue this horrid journey.

It's a good tour. The rain wasn't much of a help but they try to accommodate you in every way possible. Thumbs up!

This was an excellent tour, a bit long, but our guide Clara was clear spoke, informative, knowledgeable.

Our tour guide Sylvia was really great. It was so convenient to follow along with her because she provided us with headphones and transmitters to hear her in all the locations we went to. I learned so much history about the Incans and it amazes me how smart they were in all the architecture they left behind. Sylvia’s assistant Maria was wonderful too. Our flight to Cusco was late and even though we missed our pick up at the hotel, they were nice enough to leave a message at the front desk with a contact number. Upon arriving at the hotel the front desk reach out to our tour guide and told us that we could still join up with them at a church if we took a taxi right away. Maria didn’t know how me and my girlfriend looked like, so she was shouting out our name at a church courtyard to find us. Glad they were there to watch out for us and make sure we had a great time.
