This tour was exceptional—well organized and thoughtfully designed to take you beyond the usual tourist spots and into authentic local favorites. Every dish we tried was delicious, and many were things we never would have discovered on our own. In a city where food safety can be a concern, I really appreciated the guide’s careful selection of reputable vendors and the hand sanitizer provided at each stop. Highly recommend!

I can not recommend this tour enough. Joel was amazing and shared the local food culture. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that enjoys food and wants to try the local food.
Had a great streets &market tour with Sonia and Elizabeth! Both guided were extremely knowledgeable of the food & culture!!
Our guide Sonia was superb-knowledgeable, interesting, personable, enthusiastic about sharing Peruvian food and culture with us.
Fluor was a great tour guide! She was able to accommodate gluten free diet. Tour was very informative and fun! We left the tour super full so be ready to eat! My favorite part was picking the fruit at the market and then eating them all at the end of the tour.
Sonya was terrific. Lots of local insights outside of Peruvian food topic. Highly recommend. We really enjoyed the historical information she shared as well.
This was a fabulous tour. We went to so many little gems that we would have walked right past without knowing. We also went to several personal vendors and tried so many new things. Come hungry because you will eat A LOT!
Wow, what an AMAZING tour! We only had Sunday available, so the team worked with us to schedule a private tour outside of their regular schedule. Guide Lizbet was absolutely wonderful and showed us so many spots and foods all around the city. We loved wandering the markets and street vendors tasting and learning all about Peruvian food culture. We tasted a great variety of foods, from tamales to fresh fruits, papas rellenas, drinks, and more. We also loved the great suggestions on what to buy to take home with us. They took great care to make sure that everything was safe and clean for our delicate American tummies. When they say come hungry, they mean it. We were absolutely stuffed! This tour will for sure be a major highlight of our trip to Peru.
If you’re looking for an exceptional food tour in Cusco, I highly recommend the one led by Flor. She was a fantastic guide who made the experience both fun and educational. Flor’s excellent English made it easy to learn about the local cuisine, and her knowledge of the area was impressive. We had the opportunity to meet local restaurant owners, taste a variety of native fruits that aren’t available in the U.S., and explore the rich flavors of Peruvian food. One of the highlights of the tour was a visit to a family-run coffee bar that had won the award for the best coffee in Peru. It was a unique and unforgettable experience, and Flor’s passion for her country and its culinary traditions truly shone through. If you’re in Cusco, don’t miss this tour with Flor!
This was a great way to start our trip to Cusco. Sonya was fantastic!! The tour combined food and history at each stop while helping us get our bearings of the city. Near the end Sonya shared some suggestions of things to see and do and some tips (like where to buy high quality alpaca wool items. We highly recommend the tour!
Lizbet was a wonderful guide. She is very knowledgeable about the history and preparation of food in Cusco and Peru. We had an amazing experience, ate great food and learn so much. Lisbet also took us to hidden gems of restaurants that you would not find unless you were a local. We had a fantastic time. We would happily do this tour again and would highly recommend Lizbet and this tour.
This food tour exceeded our expectations! It was such a fun way to explore cusco, everything we tried was delicious, and our guide Sonia was friendly and knowledgeable! I am vegetarian and Sonia went above & beyond to make sure I had something yummy to try at every destination. Definitely a must if you are visiting Cusco!
AMAZING! Thanks to Lizbeth, who made our Cusco food tour a fantastic experience. We were fortunate to have a small group of just three people. Lizbeth took us on a whirlwind tour of magical tasting for the next four hours, from simple Peruvian tamales to the most exotic, delicious, and juicy fruits. My favorite was lunch at Yoli, where we had pork adobo. The adobo broth alone was heavenly. Additionally, we did a tasting of Anisada to aid with digestion after having the pork adobo :) Lizbeth then took us to San Pedro Market. It was a wonderful experience to see the locals going about their business by shopping and dining at their favorite spots. Lizbeth also took us to Mercado Casccaparo. What we enjoyed the most about our food tour was Lizbeth's passion as a guide. Her childhood stories of going to the markets with her mother made it more personal. We could envision her as a little girl enjoying both markets' offerings.
Flor was a wonderful tour guide and very attentive and thorough in her explanations. She was conscientious about how we were doing with the altitude, went into great care with sanitizing the utensils, and we enjoyed the tour and her very much! Choose Flor!
Flor was amazing and very accommodating. She was attentive to our well being as we were still acclimating to the altitude when we took this tour. She's so passionate about her culture's gastronomy and history that it really made the tour that much more enjoyable. Her recommendations for places outside of Cusco were also amazing. Overall it was a great tour, made better by a great tour guide.
We loved our tour with Flor! It was a great way to get to know the layout of the city on our second day there, and to learn the history. Flor was so nice, friendly, and easy to talk to, and her love of Cusco and Peru shines through her as a tour guide. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting her and the locals she introduced us to, and listening to all she had to say about the food, culture, and history in Cusco. She was able to give us advice about other things to do in the area as well. The food was beyond plentiful - come hungry! Highly recommend this tour company. Signing up online was seamless and they we quick to return emails about my various questions.
Liz was so incredible- she really took good care of me, gave interesting information about the city and food, and was so much fun. She really made this a great experience, and gave me helpful tips and recommendations for restaurants in the city. Definitely ask for Liz as your guide!
This tour is an amazing way to learn about Peruvian food, culture, and history! We had such a fantastic time with our guide Liz, who was extremely knowledgeable and kind. We would absolutely recommend Curious Money food tours to anyone coming to Cusco in the future.
I’ve done multiple food tours in a few cities across the globe and this was by far the best one. Our guide, Flor, was extremely knowledgeable about everything Peru related and was able to answer all our questions about food, culture, and getting around the area. She got us inside looks into multiple spots, did not hesitate to offer to take our picture, and was all around an amazing guide. One of us being a Vegetarian with some allergies, Flor was extremely accommodating and was able to take us to only locations where they served veggie options and was able to work around any allergies we had. She even booked us a reservation at another restaurant for dinner when she heard what food we were still looking to try. We tried foods we’ve always wanted to, and some we had never even heard of and we are happier than we could’ve hoped for. I could not recommend Curious Monkey and Flor more!
We did a walking food tour with Curious Monkey during one of our acclimation days in Cusco. We were looking for someone who could guide us around and explain the local food, markets, produce. Well, we lucked out with Flor. She’s the most friendly, knowledgeable introduction to Cusco we could have hoped for. Flor took us to her favorite places and we learned so much from her. All the food was delicious. Everyone Flor interacted with at the markets just loved her too. Don’t miss out on this tour as you get used to the elevation.
Our guide Liz gave the best city food tour I’ve ever done. She introduced us (a couple plus a friend) to foods and restaurants and markets we wouldn’t otherwise have tried. She was terrifically knowledgeable, describing the difference between the many types of foods. She brought cups and utensils so we could have small samples of many different foods and know it was all clean. She even washed lots of fruit with materials from her backpack! She shared SOOO much of Cusco’s culture. And she adjusted the tour to our needs. Then we saw her later on the streets of Cusco and got a big hug! We love Liz!!
We really enjoyed our food tour with Curious Monkey! Our guide was Flor and she was awesome. She took us to a lot of places we never would have found on our own. She was very knowledgeable about everything in Cusco. We felt very well taken care of - she even carried her own plates, cups and silverware for us to use to make sure we were safe. Would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Cusco.
Very interesting, good food. Liz did a nice job showing us around and telling us about the food and sights.
My husband and I had a great time with our tour guide Liz. We booked a group tour but it ended up being just the two of us. Liz took us to great places we wouldn’t have otherwise known about, had tons of interesting information, and was very prepared with bowls, plates, and everything we needed to enjoy our food along the way. Thanks Liz!
This was beyond amazing! The tour guides are extremely knowledgeable with the food, culture and history. They were very considerate of the pace we took since it was our 2nd day in cusco. They also provided recommendations to other locations for dinner, along with following up to let us know we could reach out if we had any questions. We did a private tour as a couple and there where 2 tour guides (Luis and Liz). They provided hand sanitizer before each selection, brought plates and cups for us to use, and also washed all the local fruit we tried. The variety of places we got to try was a perfect mix of different Peruvian foods. Highly recommend if you'd like to dive into the food culture of cusco/peru and discover the local scenery.
Our family really enjoyed the walking food tour with Corinne and Liz! We sampled a variety of great tasting food and drinks, while absorbing the info Corinne and Liz provided about the local culture. All a wonderful experience.....highly recommend!!
Corrine started the tours when she moved here a few years back and is a wonderful guide! She knows a ton about the city and culture and more importantly about the people and families that she takes you to see - you can tell she’s just in love with it all! Great food and great learning! We did this after being in the city for about 20 hours with no problems.
My wife and I really enjoyed our tour. We were shown around the market busy with locals and good explanation of some local customs, plus a few extra stops to sample the best local produce. Bonus was the June festival dancing and artworks on at the time
The food tour with Corinne was one of the highlights of our amazing trip to Peru. She was such a joy to spend the morning with, showing us areas of Cusco and new foods that we wouldn’t have been able to discover without guidance. She also had a wealth of knowledge when it came to the history and culture of the area. All along the way, she was able to engage and entertain our persnickety four year old with her humor and enthusiasm! We highly recommend taking one of the Curious Monkey tours!
Thrilled to have done this food tour in Cuzco. Was concerned about food safety and was impressed by the steps they took to be safe - including bringing their own dishes, cups, and hand wipes / sanitizer. The morning tour (led by Casey) included stops for tamales, local beverages, juices, and the best pork I’ve ever had + more. The vendors were super nice and really took pride in their products (as exhibited by the massive lines at their stands). It’s expensive by local standards but well worth the cost to experience local specialties.
We had a great tour of Cuzco street food - our guides had a wealth of information about some of the best spots in the city - from fresh smoothies, tamales, to more unusual tastes like the cow foot jello, to the treat of local handicraft coffee. It was such a treat spending time with them, and asking them questions about the history of the dishes and the people who make them. Would highly recommend to any visitor!
We signed up as a party of 6 and were lucky enough to have Corrine and Casey lead us around on a private tour. They were both very knowledgeable about the local food of Cusco - we even had some history lessons intermixed with all the food talks! I appreciated the fact that we went to some of the oldest places in the market (things I would have never tried on my own). We walked through the very local fruits/veggies/chicken shops following the market which was my favorite part. I tried three new fruits, and now I'm wondering how I'll find each of them in the states :)
