We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour with Flor. She was fantastic Great knowledge extremely friendly and entertaining. So much food, ending with a view of the square at a roof top bar. Thank you Flor
Our food tour with Flor was outstanding! One of the highlights of our trip to Cusco. The food was great and Flor was very meticulous re hygiene and food safety. Would recommend without hesitation!
So I actually was super sick and could not go so my husband went without me. Not only did he come back having had a great time but the tour guide sent him back with chicken noodle soup for me and muna tea because I missed the tour. It was very kind and thoughtful! My husband stated it was great and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Cusco!
Flor was an excellent guide! We learned so much and enjoyed every bite. The best part is that it was just the right amount of food and the walking was all nearby. A must do that f you come to Cusco.
Our guide, Joel, took us to 6 different places with good mix of street food, restaurants, and tiny shops. It was fun to stroll around town after dark with lights, shoppers, and music all around. In addition to the food, we learned a lot about the culture. It was a very festive and memorable evening !
Having taken many cooking classes over the years, the private class makes all the difference. It’s personalized and you participate in every step. I will not take another group class for cooking.
Sonia is a great guide. So much food! Be very hungry when you go. She found plenty of yummy food for the vegetarians in our group.
Had a great time with Sonia learning about and eating different Peruvian food and drinks. It was fun to walk around Cusco to find some of the hidden gems with tasty treats. We appreciated that she was able to accommodate our 2 vegetarians and 1 person who couldn’t eat red meat. Got to try so many delicious things but my favorite was the papa rellena. Yum! Thank you to Sonia for making it a fun and memorable experience. Would definitely recommend to other travelers visiting Cusco.
Flor was so knowledgable and really warm. We got to try a few different dishes we never would have ordered. A lovely way to spend an evening in Cusco.
We lucked out and were the only ones that booked our time slot! I don't want to spoil the stops for anyone going on the tour, but there's nothing TOO crazy or unusual. If you like meat and potatoes and sweets, you'll be very happy. Sonia was a delight, she was so happy and told us a lot about the food and the city and the people, and what life is like in Cusco. She had hand sanitizer and napkins, and even gave us an umbrella when it started raining! We were absolutely stuffed by the end, but it was a delicious journey.
Flor was an amazing guide. She took all precautions to ensure we had a comfortable, safe and enjoyable food tour to the most authentic spots. Flor was outstanding, she was prepared for any situation and made us feel so safe and comfortable. Highly recommend!
If you’re looking to book a foodie tour in Cuzco, this is the one! Flor & Corinne were amazing—so friendly and incredibly informative. They took us to hidden gems and introduced us to fabulous local treats we never would have found or tried on our own. Highly recommend for anyone wanting an authentic taste of the city!
Sonia was a great guide, showing us all of the best places that are easy to overlook amongst all of the options in the city. Learning about the blend of Incan and Colonial culture was very unique and eye opening. The street foods were awesome, flavors that speak to the Andean heritage, and the coffee shop was a true gem find. Would highly recommend joining the Curious Monkey Food Tours group, they have great guides that care about sharing their city with outsiders not just for the money but for sharing their culture with others.
Sonia was great! Liked this tour a lot. The best way to try local dishes. Got to go to some super cool local spots, food was 👌
The tour was amazing! The food was delicious and plentiful, and Flor was extremely personable and knowledgeable about the different local foods we tried and their preparation and histories. She was also extremely knowledgeable about everything to do with Cusco and communicated beautifully. There were many street foods as well as restaurant tastings. I highly recommend this tours and especially Flor!
Joel was absolutely amazing. We had everything from tamales on the street to desert in a restaurant. I highly recommend any of the food tours buy curious monkey. Had an amazing time.
The Cusco street food tour was fabulous - our guide, Flor, made the experience so memorable with her insight amd knowledge of the entire region and country.
tried lots of street food and drinks and our guide sonia was lovely too, would definitely recommend this to all foodies!
We had a really nice experience! We got to try some delicious Peruvian food thanks to Joel. I would definitely recommend it.
Great experience! Loved the coffee and tamales. Our guide was very sweet. A wonderful break from outside excursions.
We were tired after an hours long driving and hiking tour and questions ourselves why we scheduled an evening tour that same day. We were so glad we did!! This “eat the streets” tour was our highlight in Cusco. Our tour guide Joel made this not only educational but FUN! We laughed a lot!! He was also so caring in making sure we were safe, especially crossing the busy streets. If you are ever in Cusco this tour is a great way to learn about different restaurants and try different foods, both savory and sweet. We are still talking about Joel and how we miss him.
Our tour guide, Flor, was absolutely excellent. From the moment we met her, we could tell she was such a sweet and kind person. She was incredibly knowledgeable—not just about the food, but also about the rich history of Cusco—and even turned out to be a wonderful photographer for our group of friends! I truly appreciated all the stops on the tour, especially learning about the coffee plantation. My favorite dish was the vegan stuffed potatoes with those amazing sauces. We even bonded over our children, and the evening ended with a warm hug from our new friend.
A very good tour, spoilt by ending up with food poisoning. The positives - our guide was great, very passionate and knowledgeable. We also got to try some very tasty food and had an insight into some typical Peruvian cuisine. The food was also varied and included a coffee stop, sweet items and a drink. Unfortunately, for me this was all spoilt in the early hours of the next morning as I awoke with food poisoning, resulting from the beef heart anticuchos. I must say, the hygiene measures that our guide took were admirable, including bringing us our own plates and providing hand sanitizer, but they couldn't control what came from the street vendor. Thankfully my wife was not ill, and the only thing we ate differently that day was that she had beef steak and I tried the heart. Very disappointing result as it ruined a day of our honeymoon.
Elisabeth was the tour guide, very nice and friendly! The food was nice and the places she took me to interesting.
We had such a wonderful food tour with Flor! Even though our group was small (just four of us), she made it engaging, fun, and full of great local insight. Her energy and knowledge truly made the experience unforgettable. From the local tamales to the street food Flor guided us with her experience and food knowledge through the bustling streets of Cusco. Highly recommend!
We had a great time with Elizabeth She was the most organized food tour guide we have ever had She even brought her own plates and shot glasses to have a digestif on the street after one of the stops Her pace was relaxed, she gave just enough history and information. She took us to excellent spots with delicious food. Everything was ready on arrival - they all knew she was coming. We finished the tour as full and happy monkeys, our curiousity well satisfied Highly recommend and maybe ask for Elizabeth because she is really great
Flor was my guide and she was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and treated you like an old friend. Best food tour that I can think of, up to this point!
Sonja was an amazing tour guide, taking us to a bunch of great smaller eateries that we would have never known to try. From corn husk wrapped sweet and salty tamales, through beef heart skewers, washed down with an espresso, pisco sour and much more. Loved it!
Sonya was the most amazing tour guide! She is so knowledgeable about the food in the area, and she knows all best hole-in-the-wall spots. We ended the tour at a restaurant overlooking la plaza de armas, and had a delicious meal, pisco sour and fresh fruit from San Pedro Market! I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Cusco, the perfect way to spend a few hours!
I really enjoyed the food tour of Cusco and my guide Sonia. I tried many local flavors and learned a lot about the history and stories behind a lot of Peru’s delicious treats. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Cusco and love food!
Joel was great! Very friendly, fun, and informative. He took us to spots that we would never have stopped at. Everything was delicious and good sized portions. Would recommend!
Flor lead us through such a great experience. She was a great presence and provided the best food spots. I'd take her tour again and again.
We loved our food tour of Cusco, Peru. We tried many local delicacies and were entertained with great stories and information from the local view point. Highly recommend
Our food tour guide, Flor, was super friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to her guests. She introduced us to local dishes, stalls, and places to eat and drink that we would not have found on our own. The foods and drinks were excellent and we had to come back twice to get the tamales she introduced to us. A touch pricey for what we got but it was a great experience and I highly recommend it.
Three of our family did an evening food tour with Corinne and one of her team. We loved trying different foods at a mixture of restaurants and street vendors. Fabulous to finish with yummy dessert overlooking the main square. The team were able to adapt for me being gluten free. We highly recommend this tour!
It turned out to be just my husband and I on a tour guided by the wonderful Tatiana! It was also such a pleasure to have the owner Corinne along with us for half the time. Doing the 10:30am tour, we should NOT have eaten breakfast, because we were full to bursting by the end! Not only did we get to try both traditional and unique Peruvian street foods, we also sampled some drinks I probably never would’ve tried on my own. My favorite part was walking through the more local market streets, buying fruits we’ve never seen before, and getting to eat them all while overlooking the plaza with a beautiful view. I only wish I took more photos, but I was enjoying being in the moment! This was a great way to get to know the lay of the land and be introduced to the culture and flavors of Peru. Highly recommend!
Such a great way to see the city on our first day! Carinne was so knowledgeable about the food, culture and people, and really gave us an in-depth view of the local food through the street vendors and market. She and Joel were sticklers for safety, hand sanitizer and washing off any produce before we ate it, which I very much appreciated. We got to try tamales, all sorts of fruit, drinks, coffee/chocolate, and an off menu stuffed potato. It was a nice balance of starting with the hearty tamales, snacks/fruit in the middle, and ending with a more substantial dish. It was also nice to have a small group so you could easily ask questions, and no one could get lost. Highly recommend!
excellent tour! all the food and drinks were great and our guides were fantastic, sharing lots of local knowledge with us.
This was such a great experience! We got to try a variety of delicious foods, both savory and sweet. Tatiana and Corinne were both so fun and kind. They taught us about the food and a little about some of the history of Cusco. It felt like we had a night out on the town with good friends, because we did. I was a little stressed out about an upcoming tour we had for Machu Picchu because the tour company wasn’t really responding. They helped us sort everything out and really went above and beyond for us. You should definitely do this tour! Good food, good drinks, great people!
This was a fantastic tour! Corinne and Joel were so friendly and taught us so much about what we were eating. We tried food we would have never thought to try in a million years. They know what they are talking about and we tried all sorts of good food. Special experience!
Both guides were amazing and we loved learning about the history of Cusco and the food sources. Come hungry and willing to learn. Recommend for anyone!
The tour was amazing and the guides are even better!! Booked this with my wife and we had a ton of fun. The food was amazing and we got to walk Cusco and learn all about the food, history, and culture. They even helped us with a booking we had coming the next morning and helped translate with that tour company so we could get the information we needed! Overall was amazing and we kept going back to their recommendations!
We have had some excellent food tours across the world and this didn’t disappoint. Our guide Sonja was superb - speaking knowledgeably, in very good English, about more than just the food. We were introduced to some local dishes and thoroughly enjoyed them all. Whilst the company were cautious about providing gluten free alternatives, it was all good.
The tour was enjoyable, and we got to try some really good food from a variety of vendors. The order of tastings felt a bit odd—alternating between savoury and sweet—but the guide mentioned they had to adjust the route due to vendor availability. Overall, a good experience, though in the future we'll look for a more socially responsible company to support.
I always look for walking food tours when visiting a new city and Curious Monkey didn’t disappoint. I loved everything about the tour…the length of time, the distance traveled, the variety of food, the history behind each sampling, the various settings/environments, and the group dynamic. We had fun! I would absolutely recommend this tour…NOM!
We booked this on the back of good reviews we read and we were not disappointed. Our guide was called Sonya and she was fantastic. Of all the 5 guides we have had this holiday she was by far the best. Very good and clear English. She also gave us some interesting facts about Cusco as we travelled around the food places. A very good mix of food options and they also catered well for one of our group who was gluten free. Started off with tamales (savoury and sweet) , and then a potato dish, vegetable ceviche, churros, some coffee/chocolate, some meat skewers and finished off with a pisco sour and some picarones. Whole tour took around 3.5 hours. Would thoroughly recommend and well done to Sonya who was very knowledgeable as well as being super friendly.
5 stars. I appreciate the adaptiveness to how fast we wanted to go and the answers to all my questions. Above and beyond with complimentary shots to celebrate!
This walking food tour is an absolute must in Cusco! My husband and I always enjoy food tours as a way to learn more about the history and culture of places we visit and this tour with our guide, Flor, exceeded our expectations. She shared many savory and sweet options with us, ending the night overlooking the main square with a pisco sour. She was so knowledgeable about Cusco and Peru welcoming all of our questions. She introduced us to people along the way and gave a brief history of each spot we stopped at. Flor was always prepared with hand sanitizer and any utensils we might need and took pictures of us throughout the night. Her daughter also joined and added such a fun energy to the night. We had the best time and it made our time in Cusco that much more memorable and enjoyable.
We had a great tour from Sonya. She was very knowledgeable - giving us a good history of the city along with providing us with a variety of different traditional Peruvian dishes. She was also very careful on providers which was great for our gringo stomaches… highly recommend
