Filio was really great guide. Very informative and also kind when I came down with some sickness on the trip. He made sure I made it there and always had a positive attitude. Very appreciated!

Hard to say enough about what an incredible experience we had with TreXperience and our guide, Roger! My 14 year old daughter and I did the 60K round-trip hike, with close to 4K cumulative meters of ascent, to spend a day at Choquequirao with perhaps a max of 6 other people on the site. No crowds, no rushing around .. just a wonderful day exploring this amazing place, with Roger telling us story after story of the Incas, their history, what is known about this site and the fall of this whole region to the Spanish. The hike seemed so exciting when we booked, then intimidating as we drove to the trailhead .. then really doable as we made the trek. Your eyes definitely convince you that it is harder than it is to actually do the climb. And as it's a tour, you really only manage your day gear .. porters and mules are carrying your overnight gear and cooking breakfast, lunch and dinner each day. As hiking goes, this is pretty luxurious .. and frankly, the food is fantastic. I mean, our chefs baked a cake in a pot, and it was delicious .. let along the soups, omelets, breads and all the meats. You will not go hungry and really, the 13 or so meals you get served is almost worth the price of the trip on its own. You do need to be ready. Do some training, make sure you know how to hydrate and manage electrolytes (as it gets hot in the canyon and in the sun) and use the trekking poles. But if you are in shape, it won't be too tough. Even if not everything goes to plan, there will be support. I had a rough time acclimating to the altitude in Cusco and was really uncertain whether I could manage my exertion on the climbs. But Roger was there with me and made sure I made it. And that I was able to experience this unique place, together with my daughter, in what will be an adventure we'll never forget. Thank you, Roger!!
My wife and I had a fantastic trek to choquequirao via Trexperience. The company thought of everything to help make our trip unforgettable, starting with an excellent guide - David. He was so kind and knowledgeable; he really made all the difference to add important details of history, nature, and culture, as well as to keep us moving. Beto and Erika were our chefs and made us fantastic 5 course meals in completely remote places, I was truly awe struck at their ability to put together such delicious food. What is even better, my wife and I usually take a food tour at every place we visit, but now we don’t have to because we sampled so much of classic Peruvian quinine along our remote and rugged trek. I really can’t say enough how amazed I was by this team, they work so hard and are all excellent! The trek of Choquequirao was magnificent. We are fit and avid hikers, which definitely helped us because this was probably the toughest hiking we’ve done. If you don’t fancy yourself to be in good shape, the 5 day option might be a better fit. The ruins are great but the combination with nature and remoteness brings an indescribable charm. I’d implore you to stay at Marampatta village during your trek because the setting is just amazing. My wife and I do happy with our choice to do this trek and I’m sure you will be as well. Many thanks to David, Beto, and Erika!!
The Choquequirao trek was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life, and our crew made it absolutely exceptional. Every single person on this team showed up with professionalism, warmth, and a genuine love for what they do. Elias (Guide) — At one point, Elias literally got kicked by a horse and didn’t miss a beat. Kept smiling, kept leading, never complained. That tells you everything about the kind of person he is. He was also a fantastic photographer and made sure we captured moments we’ll treasure forever. Bacilio (Cook) — I honestly don’t know how he did it, but Bacilio turned a remote mountain trail into a gourmet dining experience. Every meal was a feast — flavorful, hearty, and made with care. On top of that, he’s an absolute beast on the trail. A true legend. Abel (Helper) — Abel was a trooper through and through. Always friendly, always one step ahead, and never once did he make you feel like any request was too much. His positive energy was contagious throughout the entire trek. Ruben (Horseman) — This man climbed a mountain in sandals. Not hiking boots — sandals. The kind of quiet, understated strength that leaves you speechless. Incredibly kind and reliable every step of the way. If you’re considering the Choquequirao trek, do it — and make sure you’re lucky enough to get this crew. They made a hard trail feel like an adventure worth every step.
We had a once in a lifetime experience on this trek to Choquequirao. Sebastian, Oscar, Joseph and Siran really made this experience unforgettable. The food was delicious and really varied, and we learned so much about Inca’s traditions. Choquequirao is also a fantastic place to visit. It is a challenging trek but it is so much worth it. We spend 5h exploring the ruins of the twin’s sister of Machu Pichu and we barely saw anyone there or on the road. I would highly recommend this trek if you’re in search of an adventure, want to explore some Inca ruins 2 times bigger than Machu Picchu, and want a knowledgeable and attentive team.
We had a fantastic experience with Sebastian, Oscar, Joseph and Siran and would 100% reccommend the trip! The views were spectacular and there was plenty of time to explore Choquequirao. The hike is tough but the team kept us safe, made us feel very welcome and prepared delicious food. Sebastian was very knowledgeable about everything from the flora and fauna to Inca history and current local culture so it was valuable to learn a lot from him. I would definitely love to do another trip with the company!
I had the opportunity to travel to Lima this past March for a business conference, and since I was already in Peru, I knew I couldn’t miss the chance to visit Machu Picchu—especially since I’m not sure when I’ll have the opportunity to return. While researching tour options online, I quickly became overwhelmed by the number of companies and itineraries available. It was difficult to determine which experience would be the best fit. That’s when I came across TreXperience, and I’m so glad I did. They offered a variety of well-structured tours, and I ultimately chose the 4-day/3-night package. From the very beginning, my experience was excellent. My initial contact, Jazmin, was incredibly helpful—responsive, knowledgeable, and patient in answering all of my questions both before and during the trip. The guides—Roger, Monica, and Royer—were outstanding. Each of them was friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. They were always punctual for pickups and made every transition—whether from hotel, train, or other transportation—seamless and stress-free. What could have been a complicated and overwhelming travel experience turned into a smooth, enjoyable, and truly memorable journey. TreXperience did an exceptional job organizing every detail. I would highly recommend this company to anyone planning a trip to Machu Picchu. They made the entire experience easy, enjoyable, and unforgettable.
Our TreXperiwnce Team was as good as it gets!! Could not recommend the company more highly for their overall quality and attention to detail and experience. Our guide Elias was top notch in every way. Very knowledgable, kind, positive, funny, and talkative without being overly so. A pure joy to be with for 4 days. The team of cooks, Leandrio and Elias, went over and above to spoil us three times a day. Always so clean, and never the same dish twice. An amazing way to experience Peruvian cuisine. And our horseman, Boris, made it all happen carrying our gear from camp to camp with great skill. The reviews are all great for a reason- this company does it right across tho board!! Thank you TreXperience for an amazing journey.
With all of the positive reviews that I read for TreXperience, our expectations were very high. We were incredibly happy to have those expectations exceeded treXperience was efficient, friendly, competent, and everything went very smoothly. We had a fantastic four days. Our guide Elias could not have been a better guide. He was patient and kind, inspired us to keep going on the steep hills, and shared lots of historical and archaeological knowledge. Our chef Leandro prepared meals that you cannot believe were possible while trekking for four days. His assistant Elias was incredibly helpful and friendly. Our mule master Boris was cheerful and efficient. The whole team could not have been a better team for us. We felt spoiled and blessed. I cannot recommend TreXperience highly enough.
Trip of a lifetime! We did the 4-day, 3-night TreXperience Trek with Gary (lead guide) and Sergio (support guide) and “Chef Ratatouille” Balbino starting Sept 8th, 2025. Length of trip was just about right - long enough to get good hikes but not so long that it was exhausting. Gary was attentive, knowledgeable, thoughtful, organized and just a ton of fun. Loved all the stories he shared. My husband, the “caboose” of the team, nursed bad knees, and Sergio was indispensable, patiently guiding and supporting him every challenging step of the way. Chef Balbino and his crew produced culinary wonders that were beautifully plated and so very tasty. Each meal was an incredible experience - thank you for carefully tending to my gluten free status! The trek itself was demanding but, oh, so scenic, with more historic sites than I had anticipated along the way to Machu Picchu. Learned so much about the incredible Incan civilization! The porters had our tents, pads, sleeping bags and duffel bags set up at each campsite when we arrived each day. Thankfully, a very clean and “pleasant” porta-potty in a tented hut was set up at each overnight stop - yay! It helped my husband and I, at 70 and 66, to have trained the summer before so we could maximize the enjoyment of the trek. Thank you to Gary and Sergio for helping us capture many priceless photos with our team! I am so thankful we booked this trek with such experienced and genuinely caring and accommodating personnel. Have been raving about TreXperience as we recount our grand adventure to Machu Picchu. Best adventure for the cost. Thank You!
Smooth experience from the start. The office team are quick and efficient with their communications. Our guide Sebastian was so lovely, positive and helpful and tried to make sure we had the best experience possible! The trek, although challenging, is lovely as it's extremely scenic, tranquil and once we reached the Choquequirao site we basically had the whole area to ourselves to explore. The food was also amazing and varied - big shoutout to Oscar - we never ate the same meal twice and they catered to dietary and taste preferences.
This 4 days Inca trail is never forgotten in my life. The view is beautiful, the food is fantastic, the Guide Abelardo and Jhon are professional, they made schedule for everybody and help everyone to finish this trip successful. Thanks Abelardo, Jhon and Chef Valvino, all porters. Thanks Trexperience!
I was with my too guides (Abelardo and Alexis). They was really amazing during all the trek! When I was feeling a little bit bad, they was always there for me, like a family! All the team (2 cooks and 22 porters) was amazing! Everybody have always the smile and take care of us. I really recommend the trip with this team! That was the first time for Alexis with this team and I really recommend him! He was very gentil mais patient all the time! When we have little mental breakdown, he always tried to find I way for the smile come back! Thank you Trexexperience for the best experience of my life! All my love and my gratitude for the team xx
AMAZING!!!! We had the best of the best guides in Pepe and chef Julio Cesar. The food was amazing on the trail. Pepe was extremely knowledgeable and kept us safe and happy. Our porters were the best! You won’t find a better experience.
Spectacular experience! amazing views, incredible experience. Can’t say enough great things about Eddie our tour guide. He was knowledgeable and passionate about teaching us about the Quechua and Inca culture. He also helped my wife down some very steep steps. Lucio out chef was amazing and we had some incredible meals that you would never expect on the top of a mountain. Werner was so friendly and caring to all our needs. Highly recommend this company.!
I had a wonderful experience doing the 4d3n tour. Renato is a great host. Extremely delicious food provided and the porters went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable. I am grateful to have them with us during the tour.
Just finished the 4-day, 3-night Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu, and it was truly the experience of a lifetime. Our guide Renato was exceptional—knowledgeable, passionate, and funny, he made every moment along the trail feel meaningful and alive with history. The organization and support were top-notch from start to finish. Huge thanks to Juvenal, our incredible chef, who somehow served gourmet meals on a mountain—every dish was fresh, nourishing, and delicious. Abel, our attentive and kind waiter, always made sure we were comfortable and well-fed. And a special shoutout to Santos, our head porter, and his amazing crew for their strength, care, and dedication. We truly could not have done it without them. Forever grateful to this team for turning a challenging trek into such a memorable and beautiful journey.
Fantastic trip - once in a lifetime stuff. These guys are great and highly recommend them. From start to finish nothing was too much trouble. They truly cared about ensuring each person had the best time. We were well cared for - from a nice hot drink with the morning call to the nighttime celebrations of what had been achieved during that day. The food was unbelievable - never went hungry. We went as a group of 16 and thanks to Klever and his team we’ve made some great friends on this experience.
One of the best experiences of our lives and one we will remember forever. The scenery was truly amazing and breathtaking at every turn. The real highlight was the staff and service of Trexperience - Rosmel, Jose and the team were expetional. The food was world class - way above what you would expect on a trekking tour. The accommodation was perfect - especially the first night high in the mountains looking at the stars. We learnt so much from Rosmel and Jose about Peru and the Incas. Both are incredible guys and they made the trip what is was. They made our trip to Peru truly unforgettable and we were very grateful for everything they did. You will not regret booking with TreXperience.
Overall, it was a decent trip with enjoyable food throughout. The porters worked incredibly hard to ensure we had comfortable sleeping arrangements and decent camping conditions, which made a big difference in our experience. The tour guides were very adaptable, skillfully adjusting to unexpected situations-especially when some group members became injured or ill. Their ability to pivot and manage these challenges was impressive. However, one challenge was maintaining group cohesion. Since some participants were much faster walkers while others moved more slowly, the pacing was uneven. This sometimes resulted in longer breaks for some and shorter rest periods for others, making it difficult for the guide to keep everyone together consistently. This also meant that we ran out of time to get full explanations of the sites
Wonderful experience!! Tough hike but the tour guides Marcos and Sebastian were amazing!! Marcos was extremely informative and FUNNY! Sebastian was kind and compassionate. The food that Amilcar and his team was Top notch!! Best food I had in Peru! But those porters….. they are beasts!! I cannot even imagine doing what they did — hiking with all that weight was surreal! They are truly amazing!! Overall a great experience — truly one for the books!!
Great trip to Machu Picchu with trexperiance. Jose and Gilbert were great guides and the food and accommodation was very good !
The experience was incredible. I really enjoyed it. Julio and Gary are the best tour guides. Eulogio prepared the best food!
An amazing experience! Perfectly organized, super food, nice guides, amazing team of porters,… And you will be payed off with a stunning view of many Inka sites and of course Machu Picchu!
How can I start, Machu Picchu was overall such a great experience, the trek itself was mentally and physically challenging but so worth it, each time you reach the peak you feel on top of the world, added to the experience we had wonderful tour guides, Marco, and Pepe an absolute saint who pushed me up the hill and provided me with support when I thought I couldn’t reach the top, lucky enough here I am and I COMPLETED MACHU PICCHU! Each breakfast, lunch and dinner we were greeted by the excellent chefs, Daniel and Elizabeth who ensured we had enough food to provide us energy every day. I genuinely couldn’t have done it without our guides, our kind porters who clapped and cheered every time I showed up to camp an hour late, and the dedicated chefs who served us. This was an experience like no other and I couldn’t have completed it without these amazing people!
Amazing, rewarding, educational. These are only a few adjectives. What a wonderful experience that was only complimented by the excellent guide work of Roger. His knowledge, education, passion, and consideration for this adventure was much appreciate. What a great guide. Also, the effort, hard-work by your ports (Raymundo Rosilito) was exceptional. Their morning, lunch, and dinner feasts were also be remembered. What excellent food in such limited cooking conditions. Every meal was outdone by the next. I can not explain how wonderful the entire TreXperience staff was on this adventure.. Highly Recommend this hiking adventure and these exceptional staffers!!!!!!
Wow! What an Amazing Tour. The Organisation from Trexperience was Perfect. From the pre Meeting until the Return to the Hotel was everything Well organized. Our Guides Jose and Jhon made the Tour Special. Their Knowledge about the inkas and the opportunity to ask questions everytime made the Tour also better. I am very grateful for this Experience and would Highly Recommend it everybody! It was a once in a Lifetime Experience.
As a solo female traveler, I felt incredibly safe and well-cared for during my trek on the Inca Trail with TreXperience. The entire team was supportive and welcoming, making the experience unforgettable. The Inca Trail is stunning! Each day brought breathtaking views and fascinating historical sites leading to Machu Picchu. Mario, our guide, was excellent—knowledgeable, engaging, and always made sure everyone was comfortable. The food and service was impeccable, they catered to all dietary needs and made each meal different. Overall, TreXperience provided an amazing adventure that I would highly recommend to anyone, especially other solo female travellers.
I had such a wonderful time on this adventure! Celso cooked such a good food throughout the trip. Edy and Gilbert guided us through the Inka trail. They kept us safe and happy throughout the adventure! I’m thankful I got to be a part of this amazing trip!
Amazing mountains and history. Vincent and Julio our guides were the best, so knowledgeable, patient and kind! We had a great time.
The trip was adventous, especially my first time to do the trekking in my entire life. Thanks to the two tour guide Jose Luis and Sergio
It was truly a fantastic & exhibition trip! The planning was immaculate and I really appreciate all the effort by the team specially Sara, Beltrán, Beto, Hilario Juan! The Btrán and Beto prepared us phenomenal food every day suitable for the hiking purpose! So grateful for it Sara, our tour guide went beyond and above to make sure we have a seamless experience, it was quite a reassuring and professional service! Highly Recommend the Trexperience tour company if you are looking for an amazing yet comfortable hiking experience!
We travelled as a couple as part of a 6 person tour - with 14 porters and a guide. Great views on a challenging hike. Our guide Katy was very genuine and gave us an authentic experience. The food was excellent.
Edy is the most amazing tour guide!! Would go again just to experience his enthusiasm 🩷 He is absolutely incredible. Also the hesd porter Alfredo is amazing!
Everything was beyond my expectation. Both guides and stuff were excellent! The meals were amazing! It was so wonderful! Thank you very very much, Charly and Sharon.
This trip is definitely a once in a lifetime trip! Yoel and Gilbert were excellent guides! Both were so informative, attentive and friendly. I was one of the slower paced hikers and I felt very supported and cared for. Once we reached Machu Picchu, Yoel was a very knowledgeable guide. Gilbert went ahead with those in our group that wanted to do the extra climb. If you want to visit Machu Picchu- this is definitely the way to experience it to the fullest!
This was the trip of a lifetime! LOVED our guides Abelardo and Sebastian! They were organized, friendly, and very knowledgeable. The whole staff literally served us all day long. The food was delicious, plentiful and made from scratch. We saw many ruins on the Inca trail, and were able to explore them to our hearts content. Often times with just our group. Our schedule gave us plenty of time to enjoy the journey. It was all so fascinating and beautiful. Learning about how the Inca people lived at these sites made our visit to Machu Picchu even more meaningful. Before you come: -Practice hiking up and down long steep inclines. It seemed like we were always either going up or down steps. -Consider purchasing patella tendon knee straps (wear on the downhill), electrolyte tablets, and a small anti-chaffing glide stick. -Bring extra ziplocks, toilet paper, battery pack (for phone photos), medications for the following: altitude, sleeping, nausea, motion sickness, heartburn, sore muscles, headache, and diarrhea. If you buy an extra ticket to climb up the mountain on your Machu Picchu day, understand that you will probably have to be able to hike it very quickly. It is straight up and down, and you are on a tight schedule. Many that buy tickets for Wayna Picchu on day #4 forgo using them. You’ll want to have plenty of small change everywhere you go for tipping, bathrooms, and treats. Arriving a couple days before your hike is a must for altitude acclimation and jet lag recovery. I highly recommend this professional locally owned company Trexperience for all your touring needs!!!
We had an incredible 4-day Inca trail hike in the Sacred Valley that culminanted in rain Machu Picchu! José and Milton were amazing tour guides with Trexperience and I would highly recommend them!
Beyond amazing!! One of those experiences you never forget and feels like you're living a different life. 5 stars to everyone involved with TreXperience. Everyone involved from their bookings, Transport team, Porters!!.. Tour guide Filio!! All did an incredible job!!
Once in a lifetime experience- just breathtaking. Such a lovely crew of 15 co-journeyers too. Jose Luis (Pepito) and the TrExperience team made it for us. With great motivation, information and humour they supported us all EVERY step of the way. The food was fresh, healthy, plentiful and beautifully presented. I have no doubt that we got the best from the scenes, trek, cameraderie, memories and photos through the hard work behind the scenes by Pepito & team. Can’t thank them enough xx
Juan de Dios, Sarah, the Porters provided the most top-tier experience. This company was so professional, experienced, and incredible -- even providing emergency care to 3 in our group at different points on our trek (myself included). Thanks to Juan de Dios and Sarah, everyone in our group had the best time ever and got home safely.
Amazing trip You have to be in really good shape to do this, important to know Amazing views Food 10/10, really good and enough for everyone
I recommend this company more than anyone! They are super nice, hard working, and passionate. The food was excellent from Rolando! Our guides William, Sharon, and Nilton were so fun and knowledgeable about the Inca culture. I wouldn’t change a thing! Their operation is very smooth and accommodating.
My family (mom and dad in late 40s, daughter, age 18 and son, age 15) just finished the 4-Day / 3 Night Classic Inka Trail Hike. It was physically demanding, I experienced some altitude sickness and we encountered a good amount of rain but that didn’t stop us from having the trip of our lifetime thanks to the Trexperience team!! Our guides, Willian and Plinio, were simply the best!! They opened our hearts to us and treated us like members of their own family from minute one. Willian and Plinio helped me through my altitude sickness and were constantly caring for me because it genuinely came from their hearts. They both stayed back with me and encouraged me on when I struggled. I will forever be grateful. Added bonus with Willian - he is native Peruvian local to the Cusco area with perfect English and is kind and funny. He used that killer combination to deliver educational stories and information throughout our trip with gave our experience great depth. His passion comes through in everything he conveys. And the food!!! Bilbono, our chef, created the most incredible culinary experiences for us at each meal, everyday! How he did it, I don’t know. But it was like magic. He could start his own restaurant. The porters and the rest of the team were also magic. When we arrived to our campsite each day the tents were beautifully appointed. And in the morning, their tear down was within minutes!! There are so many more details I could write but I’m limited in word count. Suffice it say, my family just experienced a trip of a lifetime thanks to TREXPERIENCE!! I’m an extremely picky traveler and they still exceeded all my expectations!!
An amazing experience, guided by the very knowledgeable and kind Edy and William. Both of our guides were ready to answer any questions we had on the trail and were very excited and passionate about the trail’s history
Trexperience was the best. Our guide Monica was amazing and so were our porters. I frickin love rocks in Peru. So many the Incas threw around in cool ways.
This was a trip of a life time. The tour guides William and Manola were an absolute pleasure. They were so knowledgeable and taught everyone about the culture and history of the Inca Trail and Inca people. The porters were excellent. The food was fabulous, thanks to our chef Julio Cesar! Over all my experience was better than I could have ever imagined! Highly recommend!!!
Amazing tour! The guides are so kind and helpful! Got sick and they helped us all the Way and made sure we still got to see Machu pichu inspite we had to get down from the mountains!
Fantastic tour from start to finish. We'll organised and we'll looked after. Go book if you want an adventure and to learn.
Incredible experience with the most amazing team. JJ and Rosmel were fantastic guides and Benedicto and Valentin looked after us brilliantly. Worth every penny!
