Anthropologist-led Horseback: Moon Temple & Mysticism (Max 5)

PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE! I was afraid of horses so had never ridden one, so I was a bit nervous. Arnold made the experience incredible with his knowledge and passion about the sites we visited and other lore about Incan/Quechan beliefs and traditions. Far from an expert, but his instructions about horseback riding made me feel like I was ready, and the ride went so well! This excursion was my favorite experience during my time in Peru, can’t recommend enough! 🌀

This was by far the best experience I have ever had on a riding tour. I have booked others before and always regretted it. I enjoyed listening to his historical and spiritual explanations. I was deeply moved. I would definitely recommend Arnold.

Arnold was an incredible guide and this is one of the most scenic ways to see the Sacsayhuaman Archeological Park. If you are a horse lover, or just want to get out of the city a half day trip, this tour was information, and spiritual. Highly Recommend.

Absolutely one of the best experiences while visiting Peru. I did this on my last day since I had a late flight out of Cusco. First..the care of the horses. Significant time was spent learning about each horse. with their unique characteristics and how to interact with them. You could tell what respect they had for these horses. And the ride itself was very pleasant, with plenty of guidance if the horse didn't follow the correct path. 2nd: Our guide was wonderful. He taught us so much about the history and religion of this area. I felt it was a spiritual experience in a very positive way. 3. We did visit 4 different areas and from.the outside you wouldn't have thought these were spiritual places. It was a very special thing to see these sacred areas. 4. The small group number really added to this experience. Our group was only 4 -,I was solo, and there was a mother with 2 young children . Overall a great experience. I highly recommend this , especially if you want to get a glimpse into the spiritual side of the Incas

Arnold and this whole experience was by far honestly the best thing we’ve done on our Cusco trip! Before this trip everything seemed so rushed by other companies, this was the perfect end to our trip! The horses were so well loved and taken care off, the sites were incredible and I just can’t say enough about how amazing this day was for my friend and I.

Arnold was an incredible guide, and made the whole experience great. He was deeply knowledgeable, and made everyone very comfortable with the horses. As a beginner with no experience, I’d highly recommend this. It was a great way to explore the temples outside Cusco and learn about Inca culture.

I loved everything about this trip. Arthur was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the subject, the horses well extremely well cared for and good mannered. I loved the opportunity to canter through the ruins and soak up all the good vibes the place had to offer. I highly recommend this tour.

We had a fantastic experience on this horseback riding tour. Our guide, Diego, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and spoke excellent English, which made the entire experience easy and enjoyable. The horses were gentle, well behaved, and very friendly, so everyone in our group felt comfortable riding them. We also had the opportunity to let the horses run, which was an unexpected and wonderful bonus. It was easily one of the highlights of our trip, and we would highly recommend this tour.

Lovely experience and for once the start of the activity is only 20 minutes from town. Remember to put sunscreen on and a hat!

Our family of 4, including 2 teens, enjoyed this horseback riding adventure. Our guide, Diego, was professional, knowledgeable, and ensured our safety throughout the experience. He explained each horse’s personality which allowed us to choose the one that was the best fit for us. He also showed us how to introduce ourselves to the horses so that we could form a bond with them before the ride. We stopped at 4 different points along the trail and Diego shared the history and story behind each site which was interesting and educational. Most of the ride followed a gentle trail and at times we got to trot which made the experience more fun. Our ride was in the afternoon so we got to see the beautiful sunset towards the end of the ride. We’ve done a few horseback riding activities over the years and this experience was by far the best one.

This horseride was truely magical from start to finish, and it's clear how much care is taken. The horses are well looked after and the ride itself was so good! I think one of the only places that let you go faster than a walk on the horses. Loved it!

An amazing experience with our host Arnold. He was fantastic and made us feel safe and taught us so much during the trip. Would 10 out of 10 recommend. The horses were gentle and the scenery and stops along the way were incredible.

This was a great event where we learned a lot about connections and the rituals of the Incas we discovered some ruins Arnold and his staff were wonderful! The horses were nice!

We enjoyed a wonderful morning with Arnold riding horses among beautiful scenery & sacred Incan temples. I appreciated Arnold’s knowledge & passion for this area’s history & the Incan culture. We felt we gained a greater understanding of both on this tour. I treasure the bracelet with red & black stones that he gave us at the end representing good luck & safe travels. We wore them the rest of our trip! 😊 If I had one small suggestion it would be to make an effort to keep people next to anyone else in their group when riding. It would just enhance the experience!

This was one of our favorite activities in Peru. Arnold was incredibly knowledgeable about his culture and the horses. He introduced us to all the horses, shared their traits, taught us how to interact with them and let us pick our horse. My son (8yr) had a guide who tied his horse to my son’s very mellow horse. He had a blast! The Inca ruins were incredible and the scenery along the way was beautiful!

Highly recommend, the ride was so peaceful and we stoped often to see a viewpoint or temple. Lots of background information provided. My horseback riding improved from this for sure.

We had such a great experience on this tour. Arnold took the time to introduce us to each horse, sharing their background and personality, and we loved being able to choose our new friend for the ride. The ride itself was suitable for all skill levels, and Arnold was always close by to lend a hand if needed, which made us feel really comfortable and safe. We visited beautiful Inca sites within Sacsayhuamán Archaeological Park, including Inkilltambo Archaeological Center and the Temple of the Moon. At each stop, Arnold shared fascinating history and cultural insights that really brought the places to life. Highly recommend this experience if you’re visiting Cusco! Thanks Arnold and Franco!

Arnold is a very special person who has special relationships with his horses. After being matched with one of his beautiful horses, we were able to trot and canter in beautiful surroundings. Arnold shares his knowledge and wisdom with you and wants you to have the best experience possible. It’s like being invited in to a family. This experience is more than a horse ride, you learn so much about the Inka and Quechua world view and values and I found myself reflecting on my own life, unexpected but really powerful.

This was THE BEST excursion! Arnold and Franco were amazing and took the time to let us meet all the horses beforehand and choose the one we thought would be best for us. During the trip, you have the opportunity to walk, trot, canter, and run during different sections - but Arnold is very attentive, and only wants you to do what you’re comfortable doing. The sites you visit are off the grid, and Arnold is enthusiastic when telling you about them. He picked us up near our hotel, was very communicative, and the tour is capped at 5-6 people so it’s a very intimate setting. I would absolutely do this again!

Our host and guide Arnoldo was incredible, I’ve done many horse riding experiences and Arnoldo topped all of them. From the beginning he introduced us to each horse so we were aware of their strengths and the type of personality the horse would work with leaving me feeling so safe and secure. At each site we visited his knowledge was incredible, his passion for sharing his knowledge is second to none.it was the perfect f amount of hire riding and stops to check out the sites. If you’re looking for fun, culture, connection and so much more I highly recommend this experience. He truly cares about his clients and his horses

A wonderful half day out, close to Cuzco, all levels of riders are catered for. If your lucky enough to have Arnold as your guide his knowledge was bottomless and I really felt a special connection. Arnold thank you so very much for your time, experience and care.

Hands down the best tour I've done in Peru! Arnold did an amazing job with leading the tour, he genuinely cared about us and made the experience smooth at every single point. He ensured everyone felt safe and comfortable with the horses. It was my first time ever and he was able to pair me up with an appropriate horse. Arnold was also incredibly articulate, intelligent, and we appreciated him sharing his insights and philosophies of people who inhabited the lands. I cannot recommend this tour enough. We did this tour as our final experience prior leaving Peru and it was a great, memorable way to end our trip!

Our favourite activity in Cusco, highly recommend! Arnold was excellent, he is very kind and funny and extremely knowledgable. He kept the ride interesting enough for me (very experienced rider) and safe enough for my partner (novice rider). We also felt very safe after a thorough briefing and with helmets provided. The horses were calm and well trained but still full of personality. The tour of the temples and sites was fascinating! We rode for a full 3 hours and it felt like great value for money. We can’t recommend Arnold and his team of horses enough!

This tour was the highlight of my time in Cusco, the horses were beautiful and the places we visited were interesting but what made it so good was the knowledge and the passion shared by Arnold I learnt so much on this trip, I would highly recommend it.

One of the highlights of our trip!!! We had the chance to join Arnold for his horse riding experience 🐴. This was my first time mounting a horse and was a bit afraid about how the day will go. Arnold and his team love their horses. You can tell in the way they behave even with strangers. Arnold introduced us to each horse and explained us their temperament and character so we could choose the best one suited for us. I chose Tronador. He is the most lovely, friendly, gentle horse 🐎 I've met. If you have the chance pet him for me. We rode in the evening, the sunset was breathtaking. On top of all of that, Arnold, being an anthropologist, has a deep knowledge of his culture and history. I absolutely recommend doing this while in Cusco. Best time, guide, and horses ever 😁.

Arnold was the absolute best guide I’ve ever had. He was so knowledgeable with his horses. He went over each horse and told us everything about them. He then let us choose the horse that would fit us best. Before even getting started you could tell how much of an amazing person he was. Each dog in the area ran to him awaiting their treat as he passed them out. The dogs loved him. The experience was perfect. He was so passionate about each site. He was very in depth with his culture and how he explained it to us. The ride was gorgeous. The entire experience was amazing and having such and amazing guide made it one of the best experiences we had. I highly recommend choosing Arnold as your guide! He is amazing!

Wonderful experience! We were a beginner and an advanced rider and the trek was perfect for both of us. Arnold is great and Made a real effort to ensure each rider was cared for individually and happy through the ride- he was very thoughtful and ensured we had fun. Beautiful scenery, engaging history - great way to enjoy a day of fun on horseback while also learning and seeing the ruins. Horses are well kept and a pleasure to ride.

We booked this tour based on other positive reviews and the tour even went above and beyond the expectations set by those previous attendees. Our tour guide, Arnold, was PHENOMENAL. It is rare these days to find folks who put their heart and soul into their job and Arnold did just that. He was informative, mixed in personal experience with a historical perspective and was extremely helpful and understanding with those of us who had less horseback riding experience. Additionally, it was evident that the horses were loved and cared for which was extremely important to us. Start to finish it was the best tour we had during our Peru vacation. Thank you Arnold!

Our guide/owner Arnold pours his heart and soul into the tour by the knowledge he imparts, the way he knows and loves his horses, and the personal care he shows his clients. The views are great, the horses are well trained, and the information we gained was all top notch.

I have travelled around the world and I have never experienced anything like this. It is such a wonderful experience. It’s not only horse riding but you get to see temples and learn about them. The guide is super knowledgeable and the experience is very spiritual. The horses are unbelievably well behaved. They are cared for and treated with kindness. You get chance to bond with your chosen horse. It’s not rushed, if you want to walk you can do just that or if you want some speed the guide also allows this too. Riding helmets are offered. Thank you for a wonderful experience I will never forget :)

Our family really enjoyed this experience! Our kids said it was the best horseback riding that we’ve done. It was stunning and the horses were awesome. Arnold spent a lot of time before riding having us get to know the horses and really teaching us to respect the animal. I think we all felt bonded with the horses because of this time. We also loved learning about the temples, the Inca culture and its modern day application. Arnold did such a good job explaining it all. We walked away with a lot of new information and knowledge. Also, a plus and one we didn’t realize when booking, was it’s quite close to Cusco so it didn’t require a lot of travel.

OMG highlight of my trip in Peru! Our guide omg forgot his name sorry was extremely knowledgable, patient, kind and all the horses were adorable and tamed. If you like horse and inka cultures, please don't hesitate to take this trip! (but of course, listen to the guide and ride safely) oh and there are two dogs who chaperoned us all the way, how cute is that!!!
