We had an amazing three-day tour through the Amazon in Peru and would absolutely do it again. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable, took their time to explain everything, and always made us feel safe and well taken care of. We learned a lot throughout the trip, and the food was consistently great, with plenty of delicious local dishes. The only real challenge is the journey to get into the jungle — the roads can be rough, but that’s obviously not something the guides can control. One small downside was that my partner didn’t receive rubber boots in the right size, which seems to be a known issue mentioned in previous reviews, yet it hasn’t been fully addressed. That said, it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we really appreciated every moment of it. Thank you for everything!

Itinerary
Day 1
1
We will pick you up from your hotel or the airport in Cusco at 5:30 AM. We'll drive along Manu Road, stopping briefly at Oropesa Bakery Town.
We'll then visit the Ninamarca site to explore the pre-Incan burials with a guided tour. Next, we'll head to Paucartambo Village, where we'll enjoy a delightful breakfast followed by a guided walk through the local market, main square, and colonial bridge
Upon crossing Acjanaco Pass at an elevation of 3550 meters (11,647 feet), the landscape undergoes a dramatic transformation from dry valleys to lush, wet valleys. The view looking down toward the lowlands is simply splendid and should not be missed. The journey takes you through the verdant and misty cloud forest, an environment surrounded by massive rocks and cascading waterfalls. This type of rainforest is among the most fragile and threatened, featuring a unique ecosystem filled with lichens and moss-carpeted soil. In this enchanting setting, birdwatching will be a primary focus. You will have the opportunity to observe a diverse array of bird species, including the brightly red Andean Cock-of-the-Rock, Peru's national bird. With a bit of luck, you may also encounter woolly monkeys, adding to the richness of your experience in this remarkable environment.
We will make a brief stop at the bustling local market in Pilcopata town, where you can immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere and observe the daily life of the locals. The market is a treasure trove of fresh produce (bananas, Papayas, pineapples), local crafts, and traditional goods, offering a glimpse into the rich culture of the area.
By mid-afternoon, we'll arrive at Guadalupe Lodge, a serene and comfortable retreat. After settling in, we'll explore the nearby canyon and caves to observe nocturnal creatures like bats, spiders, and scorpions. We'll also traverse the palm forest trail, looking for colorful macaws and playful monkeys. As night falls, we'll embark on a night walk to discover reptiles, spiders, and amphibians, experiencing the forest's lively nocturnal world.
Day 2
2
This morning, we will awaken to the melodies of Amazonian birds. We will begin our day with a journey to Atalaya Port, where you can admire the myriad of colorful birds and the abundant wildlife. The drive will take us through tropical plantations of papayas and bananas. Upon arrival at Atalaya River’s deck, you will embark on a motorboat and navigate the crystalline waters of the Madre de Dios River.
At the Atalaya river’s deck, embark on a motorboat to navigate the crystalline Madre de Dios River. After an hour of boating and a 40-minute hike, you will reach Machuhuasi Oxbow Lake, which features lush wetlands inhabited by diverse bird species and larger animals. Explore a network of trails for approximately three hours, with snacks provided by your guide. Lunch will be served on the motorboat or along the riverbanks, with the boat’s roof offering protection from sudden rain or intense sunshine. After a short rest, search for families of monkeys and toucans in the primary forest and visit the majestic giant Kapok tree.
On our return journey to the lodge, we will take a moment to visit the enchanting Hummingbird Garden. Here, for approximately 30 minutes, you will have the opportunity to observe these mesmerizing creatures up close as they flit and hover, displaying their iridescent feathers and captivating beauty. The garden is a tranquil haven, providing an intimate experience with these remarkable birds in their natural habitat. If time permits, and for those who are interested, we can also make a stop at the river for a refreshing swim. This optional activity offers a chance to cool off and unwind in the crystal-clear waters, surrounded by the serene and lush landscape of the Amazon. The river provides a perfect natural setting to relax and take in the sounds and sights of the rainforest.
Day 3
3
Start your day with a morning walk before breakfast to explore the foothill forest, searching for Woolly and Capuchin monkeys. You may also encounter some iconic birds of the Amazon rainforest, such as macaws, toucans, and woodpeckers. The walk follows a loop route, allowing you to explore caves and canyons, where you can observe animals that dwell in darkness, such as spider scorpions and various species of bats (flashlights are required). Upon returning, a delicious breakfast will be ready for you. Afterward, pack up and begin the journey back to Cusco. The return trip offers more opportunities to spot wildlife and marvel at the impressive views of the cloud forest, with its waterfalls and cascades. Arrival in Cusco is expected around 4 PM. Please inform us if you require an earlier arrival in Cusco.

Great experience within jungle of 3 days thanks to the guide Edwin, Alex, our chef and drivers who took us! Overall, you have to understand that it is a wildlife experience and you have to expect more challenges such as lack of electricity, long distances, challenging schedules. If you are nature lover and going for seeing the nature that is the best tour, if you expect luxury hotel, sitting around and being pampered please understand that it is jungle tour. Come prepared, I would advise message tour operators few weeks ago as I did and they provided us with list of what to take with you. Most important take battery to charge phone, sunglasses, waterproof clothes, sun screen, torch light/ or something similar, bug repellent, ideally binoculars (at least simple ones) . Expect to go into muddy hikes and hot humid weather if you are arriving in end of rainy season as we did (April mid). We had electricity every evening and wifi which helped to charge phones/ communicate. For shower it was cold shower, but it is actually great option as outside is humid and hot. Do not bring ideally any food in your cabin as it can attract animals. Always be prepared for weather change from rain to sunny and other way around when you leave the cabin for that day. Edwin was our main guide and was great in spotting wildlife: we were lucky to spot different toucans, different monkeys, caimans and even a deer! On first day Alex was also guiding us through drive in cloud forest and spotting more animals. They are also great taking pictures of animals for you too if you want a memory from the jungle. Our chef was amazing too, she cooked great meals every day. Drivers were great most time tried to reduce the bumpiness of the road. Overall, thank you for amazing tour! If you are not sure about something I definitely recommend to drop them an email week or more before hand to be clear on what to expect.
If you like adventure then this is the trip for you. This was an amazing fun-packed trip that we will remember forever! Extra things id recommend bringing that werent explicitly mentioned: Motion sickness meds (Dramamine [US] or Gravol Peruvian), small room light battery operated ( electricity works in lodge room 6pm to 10pm and 430am to 530am) , sturdy bright flash light to walk in jungle at night. Ziplocs to put your devices in incase you fall in the water. Shampoo and body wash (they provide a small mini bar of soap.) Cash for tips. Pick up a duffle bag at their office day prior to repack in. 1 small power pack per person and 1 large power pack to charge other things. First morning there was no power so we got ready with flash lights, and second day same thing, but after breakfast they turned the power on for 20 minutes before we left. When we mentioned to locals in Cuzco we were going to Manu national park. They all said its great, you have yoir yellow fever shot (once in a lifetime) and other shots upto date right?. There wasnt mention of yellow fever shot from the tour operator. Make sure to do your research. Yellow fever shot requires 10 days time to start working before entering the jungle. So getting at Cuzco will mean it wont work. Bring metal water bottles other wise the plastic ones hear up and your drinking warm water. No ice machines anywhere. The trip: Early start in Cuzco at 530 am followed by a very long day of driving, but with many cool stops inbetween, making it not feel as long. We arrived at the lodge 13 hours later around 630pm.On the drive, we stopped to drop off our luggage since they provided us 1 medium sized duffle bag for 2 people(but you can ask for another if needed). There isnt a lot of room on the minivan for lots of luggage. Everyone brought either large backpacks or duffle bags. On the drive out we got breakfast for 15 sol pp around 930am. Eggs, avocado, bread, coffee concentrate (essence) and mint tea. Our driver was Alex, our tour guide was Alexis and Mayu was the assistant tour guide. They were all 5 star guides. They made the trip educational and you can see how proud and knowledgeable they are of their countries natural beauty and wildlife. After breakfast we drove a few more hours into the mountains . We stopped at a ancient inka burial site, there is a lady there selling trinkets so bring cash. After that, we entered the jungle roads that run along side steep mountains .The roads are rather windey. There were occasional rocks on the road that had fallen in part of mud/rock slides from the rain. The roads on the cliffs had no guard rails, and were very narrow which was an issue when opposite direction traffic came, however, our driver Alex was very skilled and squeezed to the sides of the road to let the large trucks get around our mini van. There were some road repair workers we waited on while they pushed the mudslides that covered the road along the cliffs off the edge to clear the road. This is the only road that takes you to manu national forest, so these issues would be the same with all tour companies. I just wanted to mention it so you'd have some sort of expectations, and it wouldnt come as a shock. We stopped by a waterfall and had lunch. They provided chicken fried rice and Drinks . We stopped at the entrance National Park and looked into a cloud filled Scenic valley. When we arrived at the lodge they told us the electricity works 6pm to 10pm and 430 am to 530 am, this was not accurate with our experience. The next morning we needed to be ready at 5am . The electricity was turned on at 5am when we left our room, and There is no cell phone coverage and the wifi only works when the electricity is on. After arrival at the lodge the first night we ate dinner and we went on a 90 min night hike. They provided rubber boots and we walked through wetlands . Bring a good flashlight and dont try to use your phones light. Its pitch black in the jungle and your trying to see where to step in the muddy water while avoiding branches. Our guide Alexis was awesome and pointed out all kinds of wildlife and vegetation. His English was great and he really loves the wildlife and nature. Afterwards we went to our rooms and had a short period of time before the electricity was turned off. The rooms are clean and have fly nets over the bed. The shower only had cold water, but it was refreshing to cool down before bed . The water for the sink is from the river so best use bottle water to brush your teeth. You cannot put toilet paper into the toilet or it will clog, as most places in Peru . Even the nice hotels in Lima and Cuzco had the same rules. Next day we woke up at 430am we had to use flashlights to get ready and as we left the room to have breakfast at 5am they turned the electricity on. Breakfast was eggs ,bread, tomatoes, cheese, coffee or tea. We drove for 1 hour to get to the boat. At the village we got on a long boat. We went down the scenic river for 30 minutes, Then saw a Capybara. Afterwards, we got off the boat and started our 4.5 hour hike in the jungle. Alexis showed us many plants , spiders, birds, and monkeys. Bring bug spray since there is all kinds of flying insects. Halfway through we stopped at a lake and got on rafts made from tree trunks tied together. We had 2 guides and the rafts could not hold more than 3 people so two people in our group voluntered to operate a raft themselves like a gondelier in Venice with the long stick. We went accross the lake and climbed up a metal observation tower, We could see the birds better up there. Then we walked back 2 hours to the rivers shore. Our guide Alexis and Mayu were great and knew a lot about the jungle. We got to taste termites (tastes like tree bark) and see nice wild life. We got on the boat and it took us to a black sand beach on the river. We got Tupperware lunch with a pre cooked pork chop , spaghetti, sweet potatoes, and tomatoes and They provided passion fruit juice. You can swim in the water if you like, Its a little cool temperature but refreshing. Then we went back to the fishing village . The guide alex bought us beer . Afterwards we drove to a hummingbird observation deck, where for 15 sol you can feed hummingbird and buy drinking water if you need it, It was a great experience. Afterwards there was a 1 hour drive back to the lodge. 4pm to 6pm we rested (no electricity or wifi) afterwards we ate dinner which was Beef Rice, cooked vegetables, dessert was purple corn sweet syrupy gel. After dinner we went for a night hike again. Alecid showed us a large none venomous spider that can be placed on your Rain jacket for pictures. We saw frogs as well. Got back to the hotel had 90 minutes of electricy and wifi. 10pm electricity and wifi was shut . For the next morning they told us be ready at 6am. No electricity was turned on in the morning so we got ready in our rooms with flash lights, again . Alexis and Mayu took us to a bat cave near by . It was a 30 minute hike in total and was very cool and interesting. We came back and had breakfast. A pancake , jam, bread , tomatoes ,cheese, coffee. After breakfast we got 20 minutes of electricity. Then got in the van 8am for our 9.5 hour Drive back to Cuzco. On all the drives, if the driver Alex or guide Alexis heard or saw something of interest while driving they stop the van and we get out to see unique birds or monkeys along the road. Bring bug spray, rainjackets , neck gator, 2 little power banks , one large power bank. Cash for tipping guides. Large metal water bottles, shampoo , body wash, rechargeable neck fan for the jungle walks , light hat , wet wipes , long sleeve shirts, bathing suit, motion sickness meds, and consider a yellow fever shot
didnt like the guide or the tour
We had an absolutely wonderful time! We decided to go with the three-day tour due to our time constraints. This is a well planned tour, and even with the relatively short time, we were able to see a variety of wildlife, learn about the plants in the Amazon, and experience different activities. We were also fortunate to have an amazing tour guide and driver — shout out to Cleber and Samuel! They were friendly, knowledgeable, and had the sharpest eyes ever — they spotted so many animals that we would have missed on our own. Cleber answered all our questions patiently (even after the hundredth time of me asking if something was edible), and Samuel was a skillful and careful driver, which made us feel reassured and safe. Overall, we had an amazing time thanks to the Wild Watch team and would gladly do this again if/when we visit Peru again in the future!
Our guide Ciro was amazing. He and our driver Daniel were great bird finders and stopped along our drive to show us when they spotted something. The night walk with Ciro was an incredible experience. He is a very knowledgeable naturalist and a good host. We felt very comfortable with him leading the way. The food was really well done, especially considering we were in the middle of nowhere. The planning and preparation to make sure everything ran smoothly was impressive.
Nice intro to jungle. We explore the “buffer” zone of amazon, which contains many modern cities ans villages. So its not the deeper part of uninhabited amazon.
This was an amazing experience to have had and we were very thankful. Educational with lots packed in within a few days. The food is EXCELLENT and German, our guide, did a great job. Some things I would tell other travelers would be: 1-Make sure you receive a packing list in time to adequately prepare. Having the appropriate clothing and materials will make or break your experience and comfort level. We did not receive this until the night before, but had fortunately done our own research and were mostly prepared. Not sure if this was due to booking through Victor or not. 2-Be prepared for a moderate degree of physical activity at times. Certain activities may be more strenuous than expected, but doable if you are in good physical health and in reasonable shape. 3-Be aware that you may not be able to charge electronics for part of your stay and you will not have hot water in the lodges. 4- Travelers who are prone to motion sickness should take anti nausea medications for the van ride as there are lots of turns and sudden stops due to road conditions. 5-There are some hidden costs- stopping at several sites and a place to eat along the way to and from Cusco that are not included in trip. However, these are very worth it and reasonably priced (maybe 10 soles per activity). We just didnt know we had to pay until after we participated and would have liked to have been told as a courtesy first. Overall, a great and truly once in a lifetime opportunity that is very worth it.
We took a really short trip to Manu Jungle, but our guide Jack made it really special. His passion for wild nature is infectious!! He gives a lot of curious information about the species we spot, the flora we see and the park! Just to give you a hint, in a picture below you can see him showing us how native tribes do suture using ants, which was insane! We spend the first day with another group doing a longer trip and he was definitely the best spotter.
Great experience. We had an amazing 2 days trip and we enjoyed everything about it. The program, the food, the lodge, the bus, our amazing driver and the best guide, Jack, who does his job passionately and tries so hard to spot the animals and show us what is possible to be seen. You have to do it.
Jack was awesome! We had a wonderful experience in the jungle. Accommodations and food was great. We saw so much wildlife
This is an amazing tour of the Amazon! Jack was a great guide and made it a really incredible experience. Would recommend for anyone wanting to visit the Amazon!
Our guide Jack was extremely knowledge on all the animals we saw in the Manu Cultural zone, and provided us an opportunities to see animals up close through his binoculars and telescope. He also helped us take pictures with our phones through the telescope, but a camera with a zoom lens would provide better quality photos, if you have one. Our driver Felix made us feel safe on the winding roads down to Manu. Be prepared to react to your guides instructions, otherwise you may miss opportunities to see the wildlife. The drive to the lodge did take some time, so we'd say that the 4 day/3 night tour is the absolute minimum you should consider. In fact, it would be better to take a longer trip to make the travel worthwhile. We would've given 4.5/5 stars but this wasn't possible. The only reason we didn't give 5 stars is because we shared the trip out to Manu with another group, and dropping them off added an extra hour or so to our journey.
Wow. This was an amazing trip. Our guides Alexis and Luis were great. The staff at the lodge were great too. They made amazing meals. Alexis has so much knowledge to share. Every creature and tree he knows. He took amazing photos for us. He is the best guide. Luis navigated the roads like a pro. 11/10 recommend this trip.
Franco was a great guide. Friendly and very knowledgeable in the local flora and fauna. We were amazed how he could spot birds that were next to impossible to see. Franco and the other employees made our trip to Manu one to remember.
We’ve had an amazing trip into Manu NP with Wild Watch Peru, with lots of memorable challenges and lasting impressions. The staff ( Pia, Alex, Franco, Amerigo) were all wonderful, knowledgable and professional and made sure we had a great time. Truely an unforgettable experience!
I expected Machu Pichu to be the highlight of our two weeks in Peru, but no – it was our Jungle Tour with Jack. His ability to spot animals and point them out to us? Bind blowing. No idea how he found the tiniest humming birds or most well camouflaged birds. Want to know the name of every single animal you see, from birds to bugs? He’s got you covered there, too. Want to see a rare snake? Jack went out at 9pm to look for it, and then came back and brought us out to it! And he did all of this with the kind of enthusiasm and passion that was infectious. The ride to the jungle from Cusco is long, but they break it up with stops (if you get car sick, take Dramamine). Toilets are not always available when away from the cabins, but the tour guide can help you find spot. The bugs were not nearly as bad as we expected, but bug spray is still recommended and the cabins have mosquito nets (we didn’t need to use ours). All meals are covered and are homemade by the cooks at the lodge, and the meals we had at the lodge were enjoyed with our tour guide on a deck where we could hear the river and continue to see the wildlife around us. Wifi is not available 24/hrs a day, but isn’t the point to connect with nature, anyways? And at the end of the day, you’ll be so tired that you’ll want to rest up for tomorrow anwaysy! A natural landslide the week prior change our original itinerary, but Jack adjusted and we would have never known – the experience was so awesome! My absolute favorite part of the tour was the hummingbird café, because among the dozens of little humming birds, we saw three types of monkeys and the café worker even laid out bananas so we could observe them nicely (from a safe, respectful distance).
The tour guides were great and the wildlife viewing was fantastic. The lodge is rustic, but the food was great. Our guide, Alexis, was extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife and plant life and loved answering questions from the group. The drive there and back is very long, and road conditions can be out of their control, so my one piece of advice is consider your comfort level with potential stress before you plan your outgoing flight for the same day as the last your day. The tour group was VERY accommodating, and we did make it on time, but one rock slide, etc could have changed that to no fault of their own. Additionally, they did have to change our reservation from a three day to a two day (road construction!) but they communicated ASAP and offered plenty of options to work with us. No complaints at all. Overall we had a great experience with this company and would recommend them.
What a bucket list experience. We were led by our guide Jack, who was able to spot insects and birds with a hawk eye. Still don’t know how he did it. We spent time in the jungle, on the water, and doing a night hike. The cabin is fairly bare bones but the staff is incredible and the food is great. Power is available in the morning and from. 6-10p. There is also WiFi during those times.
Best trip ever! Thank you for an incredible trip through the Amazon, it exceeded our expectations in every way and would 10/10 recommend!
The tour lacked proper safety measures, including no life jackets for boat trips. When activities were canceled due to weather, no alternatives were offered. The guide was silent during the 8-hour drives and couldn’t answer basic questions. A group member was also injured during a walk, and the situation was handled very poorly.
We had an incredible 3-day adventure with Wild Watch Peru exploring the Manu Jungle and the breathtaking Manu National Park. From the moment we were picked up in Cusco, everything was seamlessly organized. The journey into the heart of the Amazon was smooth and scenic, and arriving at the resort tucked deep in the jungle felt like stepping into another world. The accommodations were comfortable and nestled beautifully in nature. The food was delicious, fresh, and plentiful—perfect fuel for our days of exploring! The jungle tours, both by boat and on foot, were the true highlight. We wandered through lush greenery, glided along serene rivers, and spotted amazing wildlife—monkeys, colorful birds, and even caimans! Our guide was knowledgeable, passionate, and made the experience even more enriching. Manu National Park is a treasure trove of biodiversity, and being able to immerse ourselves in such a pristine, untouched part of the world was truly magical. If you ever get the chance to visit, do it—it’s a journey that stays with you forever. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and took us to all great places to show the amazing flora and fauna of the jungle. Highly recommend Wild Watch Peru for anyone looking for an authentic and awe-inspiring Amazon experience!
We had a truly wonderful trip to the rainforest with our guide Jack and our driver Alex. The itinerary had to be adjusted slightly due to the weather conditions (rainy season), but Jack ensured that, despite the changes to our plans, we had a great program and learned a lot about the flora and fauna. He discovered every hidden wild animal for us and shared some very interesting information about it. Alex drove us safely through the flooded and muddy paths. The lodge was very beautiful, and the staff there were very friendly. We can definitely recommend the trip if you're up for a short, adventurous visit to the rainforest! Next time, we would recommend bringing your own binoculars or renting some, as this will allow you to observe the wild birds much better. Thanks to Jack, Alex and everyone else involved!
We had an amazing 3D2N experience. It was our first jungle experience and our guide Jack took great care of us throughout, and it never ceases to amaze us how he could spot animals from so far away which allowed us to get a good glimpse of them and even some amazing photos through the telescope. Would highly recommend to try out this experience :) Also hats off to our driver Alex for so skilfully navigating the sometimes bumpy and narrow roads, and the lodge staff for whipping up amazing meals for us!
It was a really interesting short trip into the jungle and our guide (Jack) was awesome at spotting different birds and monkeys! Also the lodge was super nice and especially the food was awesome!
Great trip! Great way to see the rainforest- accommodations were great, the lodge was comfortable and food was very good. We enjoyed the boat trip to see more of the rainforest, and the chance to hike. Guide was very knowledgeable about all the animals and plants,
Great tour . As per description. Long drive back to Cusco -12 hours as bus broke down 3 times and had to get another vehicle eventually. Driver very apologetic, tour guide said anything .
We had a really good time in the Manu National Park. Together with our guide Jack we found a lot of animals in the jungle. With his binoculars and telescope we were able to see the animals from very close. Also, the food during the tour was really good and the lodge was very comfortable. In conclusion, I can really recommend this Manu National Park tour from Wild Watch Peru. Especially with our guide Jack!
Jack was a great guide, he is very knowledgeable about the nature and explains well. He's very good at spotting animals, so we even saw a capybara. The lodge was comfy and the food was great! The car ride from Cusco is long, so maybe consider doing the 4-day-visit.
My travel partner and I had an incredible experience on our recent tour to Manu National Park in February. Despite visiting during the rainy season, we were still able to appreciate the park's breathtaking beauty and diverse wildlife. Our lodge was nice and well-maintained, providing a cozy retreat from the rain. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that our needs were met throughout our stay. The tour itself was expertly guided, with our knowledgeable and passionate guide sharing insights into the park's We were impressed by the level of organization and attention to details. Overall, we would highly recommend Wild Watch Peru to anyone looking to explore the natural wonders of Peru. Despite the challenges of traveling during the rainy season, we had a fantastic time and created memories that will last a lifetime!
This tour was made exceptional because of the knowledge, care and consideration of our guide Demetrio and the friendship of the group we travelled with. We had a real taste of the Manu National Park and its wildlife. However, I would caution every traveller that the accommodation falls well below any necessary hygiene standards. The places we stayed in were dirty and run-down and housekeeping was non-existent. We asked for the toilet waste to be emptied each day - our request was ignored. If WildWatch Peru cannot ensure a decent standard of service from it's accommodation providers it should not be operating - do not book with this company.
We chose the the 4D / 3N tour everything was perfectly planned and there was nothing to complain about. The tour in the Jungle was so entertaining and unique, the whole place was awesome and the people that works there are just amazing. We did early morning Parrot watching, we did late night jungle exploring, took tubes down a river in the middle of the Amazon! We took daytime walks and we even caught Piranha! I learnt a lot about the local biodiversity and the historical background of the reserve. The tour guides also responded to our wishes as to what we would like to do and answered all the questions we had. It was far more luxurious and leisurely than I was expecting, so it caters to even the most needy of travellers. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience, and would highly recommend it.
The Amazon Jungle Tour has been fantastic. We saw incredible wildlife like monkeys, caymans, electric eels, sloths, and spiders. The homemade food was delicious, and the staff, especially our lead guide Charlie, were friendly and knowledgeable. A lot of stories and knowledge about the animals and plants were shared. I really recommend this tour so much to everyone who wants to have such a unique and once in a lifetime experience too.
The Amazon tours are varied and exciting. The accommodation was way nicer than expected and really clean and we had a lot of super varied food. We saw several types of monkeys, snakes, spiders, frogs, caimans many different kinds of birds and plants. Edwin and his team are very knowledgeable about the rainforest and have very impressive intuition when it comes to spotting animals. We loved our experience and would highly recommend it!
We had a great time with Wild Watch Peru. Our guide Ricardo was friendly and spoke excellent English. He was extremely knowledgeable about the jungle, the plants, and the animals. It was also a great experience learning about various plants, doing a night walk and night boat ride. From fishing to night walks, kayaking and meeting an indigenous tribe it was unforgettable. We also enjoyed the food and all the service throughout the trip was great. Would definitely recommend Wild Watch Peru to anyone who is looking for a hassle free amazon experience.
The Manu National Park tour has been fantastic. We had a great time seeing a lot of insects and plants, some monkeys and a capybara. The guides really went out of their way to help us see alot of things and taste what could be tasted in the jungle. Besides several walks during the days, we also did night-walks, that were exciting. Simon showed us the jungle in different ways: plants, trees, animals and he explained a lot. Raul our driver did a brilliant job too. The accommodation was fine, as expected in the middle of the jungle! It was a brilliant trip.
What a wonderful trip. I can’t believe how much they packed into three days. Even with long car ride out and a long car ride back, they added enough stops to keep in engaging and fun. We saw so much wildlife and learned so many things. My kids 11, 13, and 15 loved it. Guadalupe lodge was very pretty but make no mistake, you are sharing the space with Mother Nature. And be sure to bring extra cash for tips and some small entrance fees. But I highly recommend the tour.
I went on a 7-day jungle tour with wild watch Peru in September with a group of friends. It was a great experience. Our jungle guide Ricardo was the best we’ve ever had. Knowledgeable, highly skilled, funny, and incredibly thoughtful, he made sure we had an authentic experience while showing great respect for nature. The hikes, night walks, catamaran, river boating, drives, everything was well organized. We saw many types of birds, including toucans, parrots and macaws, caiman, giant river otters, capybaras and several types of monkeys.
What an amazing experience! Our Alexis and the crew were the best you can imagine. The sounds of the birds at Guadalupe Lodge were the most beautiful we ever experienced. During our whole trip we been interested in birdwatching an Alexis helped us with sightings of our target species list! He made sure to consider personal preferences such as my friend's incredibly love birds. During the tour we learnt about the bird of the cloud forest too. We highly recommend wild watch Peru and Alexis expertise, you need at minimum a 3-day trip, we only wish we could have stayed longer!
We had our Tour with wild watch Peru in October. It was just amazing! Our guide Franco was fantastic.! His English is excellent, and he knows everything about the jungle. He explained a lot of local legends and knowledge about animals and plants! We found a lot of animals and took some really nice photos. We had lots of great food over the 4 days and enjoyed all of the excursions. I would definitely recommend wild watch Peru if you have plan of visiting Amazon!!
Too much time driving to the jungle (9 hours each way) for a 3 day tour. Either fly to the Amazon or extend your stay by a few days. Wd didn’t realize it was so far away from Cusco…. The lodge is quite basic and has limited access to wifi (on demand) and electricity is shut off at 9pm.
This trip was fantastic! The wildlife, food, accommodations, boat and bus transportation, guides, and activities were all fantastic. The transportation was very smooth, Edwin is an expert tour guide, we always felt safe while on our day and night walks. He was prompt and very knowledgeable about the community and environment around them. We saw a variety of monkeys, birds, and other animals that was Incredible! We particularly liked the night walks where you got a real feel for how different the jungle is in the dark. Would highly recommend the 4-day tour
We spent three nights and four days in Manu National Park, and everything was organized perfectly. Everyone went out of their way to make our jungle trip a memorable experience. Our guide Hebert was very knowledgeable and kind and helped us to spot all sorts of animals. On our trip, we spotted five different type monkeys, birds, wild pigs, spiders, frogs, opossums, snake, deer, and more. I strongly recommend this tour to anyone seeking adventure and breathtaking natural beauty!
Overall, we really enjoyed our time on our 3-day Manu trip. Carlos was so knowledgeable about the fauna and the local people. He is amazing at spotting wildlife and so eager to get us to see everything. We are very grateful that we had him as a guide. We saw lots of wildlife on our day and night treks. Amazing birds, spiders and even a caiman. We were extremely lucky to spot an Anteater along the trails in Guadalupe. Amazing trip with an excellent guide highly recommended!
We did a 3-day tour with Edwin. This is the best nature tour I have ever experienced in my life. Edwin has enormous knowledge of the Amazon, and is the best tour guide you could wish for. The food at the lodges were great and well crafted. The lodge is well situated in the forest with regular amenities, WIFI, Hot showers. The river boat expedition was the most interesting thing I have ever seen in my life. Amazing service provided by every single person we came in contact with. Everything I saw or experienced was really worth it.
Amazing 6 days tour into Manu Park which is truly unique and interesting part of our beautiful world. We had really great time and this thanks to the team with us, especially Ricardo our guide who was really perfect, spotting for us all the birds, butterflies, insects, monkeys, capibaras and the giant river otters. He knows every nook and cranny of the jungle and took us to incredible viewing points. The food was very good and with many options also for vegetarians. I highly recommend this experience to anyone seeking adventure and connection with nature. Overall, this was a great experience and we learned so much!
Great trip. The accommodation was simple , but it’s in the jungle . Not hotel standard. Great food, great service, especially the driver, and our guide Ricky. Be sure to ask in advance how long the different events are, as there will be long days. Remember to read the pack list before you go. In all, a great trip
A short 3 day venture into the amazon jungle. Our guide Edwin was amazing at spotting things that I would normally not glance twice at. We were able to see exotic plants, large insects, many birds and a few species of monkeys. Pick up, travel, tours/ guide, boots, food and stay all included in the price. Prepare for a bumpy and windy road throughout your stay in Peru. If you get motion sickness, I recommend grabbing some Zofran beforehand. Also bring a good quality bug spray and full sleeves to avoid getting mauled by the various insects. The cabins were basic with wifi and electricity limited to few hours a day. Hot water and shower pressure were one of the downsides to this place but considering it's the middle of the jungle in Peru, makes sense. The food was plenty, with 3 meals a day plus snacks offered regularly. There is a net available over each bed to drape and protect against bugs, but it's restricting and not entirely effective. Overall, Edwin and his team made very smooth and enjoyable. They were accommodating and able hosts. I would recommend
Carlos was a great guide..the trip was unique!! They fed us well and Felix our driver could really navigate those roads!
What an amazing trip!!! Can't recommend Edwin and Samwell enough. This was the highlight of our visit to Peru, something not to be missed! The accommodation was basic but did the trick. The days are long but worth it to see the wildlife and scenery. If you have the time this is a must!
