We had an amazing time on our tour! Tent camping in luxury with the most kind and gracious staff of porters. Our guide Edwin was fantastic and made sure we were having a fun and fulfilling experience while we toured through the Inca trail. We enjoyed multicourse meals, beautiful views, and fantastic company on our tour. One of the most challenging things I have done, but so proud of what we accomplished. Thank you to everyone at Inkayni for making our experience unforgettable.

Itinerary
Day 1
1
Upon arrival in Cusco (3,399 masl / 11,152 ft.), our team will be waiting at the airport for a warm welcome and a private transfer to your hotel. Take the morning to rest and acclimate or explore the city's narrow cobblestone streets, colonial plazas, and vibrant markets at your own pace. In the afternoon, our journey into Andean heritage begins with a visit to the Inka Museum, home to an extraordinary collection of artifacts spanning thousands of years. Here, you’ll uncover the origins and evolution of Andean civilizations, gaining insight into the cultures that shaped this remarkable region. Next, we visit Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun), the most sacred Inca temple. Once covered in solid gold, this architectural masterpiece symbolized the spiritual and geographical center of the Inca Empire. After an enriching day, we return to your hotel, preparing for the next adventure.
Day 2
2
Our day begins with a visit to Saqsayhuamán (3,700 masl / 12,139 ft.), a monumental feat of Inca engineering. Its colossal stone walls, assembled with astonishing precision and without mortar, remain one of the greatest architectural marvels of the ancient world. From this vantage point, enjoy panoramic views of Cusco while delving into the site's historical and ceremonial significance. Next, we immerse ourselves in the serene energy of the Temple of the Moon, a sacred site dedicated to spiritual connection and the Andean Moon Goddess. We then explore Qenqo, a mysterious ceremonial center rich in Inca symbolism and ritual altars. In the afternoon, we travel by car to Ollantaytambo (2,792 masl / 9,160 ft.), where we board the scenic train to Aguas Calientes (2,040 masl / 6,692 ft.). As we descend toward the cloud forest, the anticipation builds for our visit to Machu Picchu, the crown jewel of the Inca Empire.
Day 3
3
The day begins early, as we enjoy breakfast before taking one of the first buses to Machu Picchu (2,430 masl / 7,972 ft.), arriving just as the morning mist begins to lift over the citadel. Your guide leads an in-depth tour, unveiling the history, architectural mastery, and spiritual significance of its temples, plazas, agricultural terraces, and ceremonial sites. For those with pre-booked permits, an optional hike up Huayna Picchu (2,720 masl / 8,924 ft.) or Machu Picchu Mountain (3,082 masl / 10,111 ft.) offers a breathtaking bird’s-eye view of the site and surrounding peaks. After soaking in the majesty of Machu Picchu, we descend to Aguas Calientes (2,040 masl / 6,692 ft.), where you’ll have time to rest, explore the town, and enjoy lunch before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo (2,792 masl / 9,160 ft.). Upon arrival, we check into a cozy hotel, allowing you to relax and absorb the atmosphere of this living Inca town, surrounded by ancient ruins and towering Andean peaks.
Day 4
4
We begin the day with a visit to Moray (3,500 masl / 11,482 ft.), an ingenious Inca site featuring massive concentric terraces. Believed to be an agricultural laboratory, these terraces allowed the Incas to experiment with different microclimates, showcasing their advanced farming techniques and adaptability to diverse environments. Next, we explore the Maras Salt Mines (3,380 masl / 11,089 ft.), a dazzling network of over 3,000 salt pools carved into the mountainside. Used since pre-Inca times, this site demonstrates the harmony between nature and human ingenuity, as local families still harvest salt using centuries-old techniques. Our final stop is Chinchero (3,762 masl / 12,343 ft.), a picturesque Andean town with Inca ruins, a colonial church, and skilled weavers crafting vibrant textiles. After a day of exploration, we return to Cusco, where a buffet dinner with traditional Andean flavors awaits.
Day 5
5
On the final day, a transfer to the airport will be arranged in accordance with your departure schedule, ensuring a smooth conclusion to your journey.

Inkayni Tours provided a wonderfully organized custom tour at a great value. From the time of booking, communication via what's app and email were clear, prompt and professional. All questions answered promptly. Guide Yeni and driver Guido were equally knowledgeable, professional and pleasant! Our (28 m, 66 f) private tour went very smoothly. Yeni provided in depth history and education, communicated in advance about timing, physical demands of activities, and offered flexibility and options. She was exceptional. We added Macchu Pichu Mountain hike (Circuit 1) to our Circuit 2 tour. Timing was great for curated activities. The hotels all worked out great, clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend without hesitation.
Inkayni Tours was fantastic! Our tour guide Ernesto was so knowledgeable and fun to be around. He allowed us to stop and pause or speed up based on what we felt like. We had no idea how wonderful Peru was until we took this tour.
Our guide Juan Carlos was excellent. Extremely knowledgeable and went out of his way to make sure everything was prepared and accessible. He assisted us with mobility needs, spoke good English and was extremely friendly. Cannot thank him enough for making our trip absolutely unforgettable.
Juan Carlos was an amazing guide, he was very knowledgeable and friendly, also very accommodating!
Had an amazing experience. Our guide Wilbert took care of everything for us. His vast knowledge and expertise, coupled with the ability to guide us from beginning to end was much appreciated. Highly recommend this tour.
We had an amazing experience in Peru, and a big part of that was thanks to our guide, Papa Freddie. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about the history and culture of the Incas. He made Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley come alive with his stories and explanations. Our hotel choices were also excellent—comfortable, well located, and perfect after long days of exploring. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Peru
This was the best tour I have ever been on and i would reccomend to anyone traveling in Peru. Our tour guide was papa freddi and he was so awesome and made us feel at home!
The Perfect Tour! We chose Inkayni Tours to support a Peruvian company with local expertise. The 5-day Luxury Trip from Cusco to Machu Picchu, Nov 30 to Dec 4, 2025, exceeded our expectations. Inkayni Travel Advisor Gonzalo Tapia responded to my initial query and was always prompt to reply, thoroughly answering each question. He worked with me to ensure our final itinerary was tailored to achieve a well-balanced visit to Peru that met our preferences. Our tour guide, Yeny, was exceptional. For the four full days we were with her, Yeny was organized, thoughtful, and adjusted the schedule to suit our needs. She immersed us in the history and culture of the areas we visited, as well as sharing knowledge about the Quechua people, their language and current daily life. The logistics of when and where to meet were clearly communicated, including for the day we had an early start to take the Hiram Bingham train journey to Machu Picchu. This definitely was a luxury tour the Machu Picchu day was truly wonderful from the chef prepared local lunch and dinner, the cultural and musical entertainment, to the knowledgeable guide Nick Santander; the Palacio del Inka in Cusco was first rate with an expansive breakfast buffet featuring local specialties; our top tier local guide Yeny, and the professional drivers of our tour vans 5-star service every step of the way. With no complaints or reservations, I highly recommend this 5-day Luxury Trip from Cusco to Machu Picchu itinerary with Inkayni Tours. A final thank you to Yeny, Gonzalo, all of our drivers, and the rest of the Inkayni team, for making this a perfect visit to Cusco and Machu Picchu.
Our trip has been amazing. Freddy instantly became apart of our family. Loved his energy. Loved his knowledge and passion. Freddy is the best! Enjoyed our time exploring with Freddy interjecting cultural experiences and knowledge. 100% recommend Freddy as a tour guide. This trip has been spectacular.
This journey was incredible and exciting. All the time I watched, enjoyed and found beautiful places such as rivers, lakes, mountains, forest and jungle. The Inca culture experience is really interesting and, Machupichu is an amazing place. The tour guide Eddy is polite, patient, friendly and he takes the best photos and videos to ensure good memories.
We had a 6 day tour with Inkayni that started in Cusco and moved to Chincheros, Macchu Picchu, Laguna Humantay and Montaña de Siete Colores. The tour was amazing, the views were breathtaking and we enjoyed every second of the experience. Because our guides made sure this was not a simple tour, they made it an experience. Apparently we were lucky enough to get a trifecta of three very seasoned and knowledgebale guides: Isaac, Myriam and Guido. Every single day they gave their best and worked hard so every one of the people in our group learned about the places we visited, enjoyed their time in said places and got the perfect picture (Isaac's skills with a camera are insane!) While other groups and guides around us were hurriedly going around, our guides took the time to make activities or simply rest together and share a colective experience in the places we visited. Isaac shared poems related to the places we visited and made music/book recommendations for those interested in learning more about Perú. The welcome activity to Machu Picchu as well as the relaxing one in Laguna humantay should not be missed if you happen to be lucky enough to get in a tour group with Isaac.
What a great experience! So many things to see and do ! Our guide Freddy was the best he is very knowledgeable and truly cares about your experience. He is family now.
Thanks to Wilbert Santa Cruz and other drivers from Inkayni for this wonderful trip to Machu Picchu from Cusco, with stops at Chinchero, Moray, Salt Mines of Maras, and Pisaq along the way. We learned a lot from our tour guide Wilbert about Inca culture and folklore. He is very knowledgeable of Inca history/language and was very patient to explain anything related to Inca Empire. Wilbert is also a very good photographer and took superb pictures/videos for us, which made our trip truly memorable. We enjoyed the trip very much, GRACIAS!
Ernesto was a fantastic guide - fun, knowledgeable, and organized. Made a great trip the best! Recommended restaurants were top- notch. Lodging was good, especially in Aguas Calientes. 5 stars 🌟
The tour far exceeded my expectations thanks in large part to the tour guide Jonathan. The Inca archeological sites and Machu Picchu were magnificent in and of themselves but the stories Jonathan told about each site made the experience extra special. He also allowed us to experience the local culture first hand including a delicious meal at a family’s small restaurant. Ronnie our driver safely transported us to all sites, navigating the narrow streets in Cusco with ease. If you are thinking about this trip, look no further book with Inkayni tours and specifically Jonathan and Ronnie.
This tour has exceeded my expectations. We saw many Archeological sites in the Sacred Valley. Our guide Jonathan was so knowledgeable and he made each site special. Jonathan and Ronnie our driver made the trip to Machu Picchu very special! Jonathan even joined us at the hot springs. The highlight of our trip was having lunch with a local family that Jonathan knows and is helping to grow his restaurant! Excellent fried trout lunch! Jonathan and Ronnie were very professional and helpful in every way!
The Inkayni Tour Company did an excellent job from when we first started making plans for this trip (right before Covid) to when we were back home after finally being able to get to Peru. The communication was always prompt and helpful. The tour was very organized from the beginning to the end. Our guide, Eli (Eliston), was a wealth of knowledge and very fun to travel with. He made the Inka history come alive. He and everyone who worked with Inkayni went out of their way to ensure that we had a memorable and safe trip. Seeing Machu Picchu and all of the other Inka ruins was life changing and very humbling. The countryside is breathtaking. i highly recommend Inkayni Tours and Eli to anyone considering exploring this part of the world. Amazing!!!
This tour was amazing. The Inkayni Peru Tour company was excellent. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and was a delight to travel with. Everything went very smoothly. The hotel accommodations were wonderful. The entire staff was great and went out of their way to ensure we were well taken care of and supported. I highly recommend this tour company.
I travel with my partner and had the best experience with the tour. We learned a lot about the culture in Peru, had a lot of adventure and really enjoyed our time! Freddy Torres and Edychino were our guides, and we couldn't have asked for better guides, they answered all of our questions and guided us through the most magical experience! The group we had was of 15 people, some couples, a family, some friends traveling together and some solo travelers, but we all bonded through the magical experience we had. If you're traveling to Peru and want to get to know more about the culture and want to experience going to Machu Picchu, the 7 color mountain and Humantay lake I would definitely recommend taking this tour!
If you are looking for a reliable and amazing tour company, do not hesitate to call Inkayni Peru Tours. They did an awesome job with us. Always on time, providing clear instructions and expectations of each of the places we visited. Franklin, our guide, has a lot of experience about the Inca culture, places and being very patient with us while we struggled through the high altitude. The whole crew made us feel like we were at home. We will do it again for the remaining places missed to visited.
My 5 friends and I had the trip of a lifetime with Inkayni Tours. Prior to the trip, communication with the organizer Lisseth was quick and helpful. While on the tour, we saw many beautiful views, learned some history, and met some wonderful people. Our guide Guido and driver Percy took great care of us. Guido did a great job herding all 6 of us around for 6 days and made sure we were comfortable and happy at all times. We couldn't have been happier!
This tour company is excellent. From the time Inkayni gave us a proposal to our first meeting at Cusco airport, their interaction with us was first class. They were able to accommodate the tour changes we requested. Inkayni’s 5D tour is probably alright for most people but we (four seniors) made it a 6D/5N tour in order rest the 1st day, and to fly out the day after our tour completed. Our guide, Percy is excellent, very knowledgeable and took the time to explain and answer questions. He led us the entire tour and on a five hour tour of Machu Picchu. The latter began at 0630 and ended at 1130. While some guides and tour operators may provide a shortened tour, I believe Percy gave us a complete tour of the main site. Note that there are other hikes and climbs in Machu Picchu so do your research. With respect to Machu Picchu itself, there are no comfort facilities in the park. Umbrellas are not permitted. This review would not be complete without mentioning our driver. Fernando is excellent. He took great care driving the secondary roads and avoiding pot holes. He seemed to know where the speed bumps were and reduced his speed when appropriate to gently drive over the bumps. He was patient following slower vehicles, only passing when safe. I highly recommend Inkayni. I would advise anyone who wants to see Cusco and Machu Picchu to select a tour company wisely and ask questions.
I chose Inkayni Peru because I felt that they represented good value, and also because the reviews were consistently good. I went on a 5-day tour with Franco as my guide. He was great- very enthusiastic and personable! Inkayni did not disappoint. They are very organized- from the pick up at Cusco airport until your departure. My suggestion would be for anyone planning a trip to look carefully at your trip- particularly such things as arrival and departure times from Cusco- so that you can maximize your time on the ground. For example, I arrived in Cusco at noon on the first day- and so, I only had 2-3 hours later in the afternoon to tour the Inka museum and Korikancha (must see!). I wish that I had a good 4 hours that afternoon! Also, keep in mind the altitude. It definitely affects some people more than others. If at all possible, maybe it really is a good idea to give yourself an extra day at the beginning-in Cusco... There is so much to see there, that 2-3 days is easily justified. What else can I say, enjoy! Machu Picchu is everything you ever read about, and towns like Ollantaytambo are gems in the Andes.
We were 5 people traveling together and booked a private tour with Inkayni Peru for the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Cusco area. They were very easy to work with, answered all questions by email very quickly. I just told them a general Idea of where we wanted to go and what we wanted to see, they arranged everything. Carlitos was our guide and he was excellent. Very good knowledge of all the sites we visited, very pleasant personality and nice to spend time with. He was always very prompt, never arrived late. He kept us well informed of what we were going to be doing, where we were going. A tour like this is very dependent on the guide you get, we were very happy with Carlitos. We had several different drivers, all were excellent. They were also very prompt in meeting us and were all very good drivers. I highly recommend this group and would not hesitate to use them again if we visit Peru in the future.
Our tour was well organized. Our tour guide Jonathan was smart and knowledgeable. He knew a lot about the history of the sites we visited and spoke very well. He was also Very accommodating and flexible with the itinerary. He was able to manage our large group of 17 people very well.
This tour was so nicely organized! We didn’t have to worry about a thing, it wasn’t all taken care of by the agency. Our guide, Jonathan was amazing! He was very informative and encouraged us to take our time at each visit. It felt as if we were traveling with a friend as opposed to a complete stranger. I would do it all over again!
A couple of neighbors and I decided to come to Peru for a hike to Machu Picchu, and had received a recommendation for Inkayni Tours from a colleague and reading some of the other reviews, we decided to choose them as well. I was amazed at the knowledge that our guide Jonathan showed through this amazing adventure. This trip was soo much more than Machu Picchu and I am thankful to have seen the salt mines in Maras, the concentric rings of Maras and the massive stones at Saqsayhuaman as well as the many small towns along the way. What a trip this was!!! Thanks again Jonathan and Percy for a great adventure.
Jonathan knew so much history and spoke several languages so we were able to meet fellow travelers from around the world. On two of the five days we were done early because we traveled in the off-season and instead of saying goodbye he went with us on some beautiful free hikes that were off the tourist path. Definitely asking for Jonathan when we come back in two years.
My siblings and I decided to travel to Peru together with our significant others and 3 kids (10, 4, and 2 years old). We were worried how the kids would take to travelling around so much but thanks to our awesome tour guide Jonathan and driver Percy, we had an amazing private tour of the archaeological sites (Moray, Ollantaytambo), the salt mines at Maras, and of course Macchu Picchu. We also did a Cusco city tour which included museums and Korikancha. Jonathan was so patient with us (we were constantly stopping for street food and to take photos) and was so friendly and fun with all of the kids. We are waiting for our flight back to Lima right now and it feels like one of our family members is missing! No regrets booking with Inkayni and their staff.
My family and I just wrapped up a 5- day Cusco/Machu Picchu tour with Inkayni tours. From the booking side they were very responsive and Myriam was very prompt and patient in answering all my questions. Our tour guide Jonathan was great and went above and beyond. He has a great sense of humor and his knowledge of the subject matter made everything better. On our Machu Picchu day he didn't have to do the long climb up the mountain with us but he did just so he could take photos for us and that's no easy trek! Definitely recommend asking for him if you book with these guys.
Ours was a tour of Cusco, Machu Picchu and other surrounding sights. Jonathan was a phenomenal guide with tons of patience, knowledgeable about the archeological sites, history and contemporary Peruvian life. He went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience possible. Thank you Jonathan for making our trip so memorable.
If you use this company, ask for Johnathan. He is extremely knowledgeable, passionate and funny. He loves reading about history which really shows when you're out and he's talking about the place you're at.
My wife and I received personalized service from the moment we got off the plane in Cuzco. Our guide Percy was so well informed about every aspect of the tour. His enthusiasm and knowledge of the Inca and Andean cultures as well as the Peruvian environment made for a truly amazing and wonderful experience. The photo opportunities were endless. Our driver Guido was always prompt, friendly and attentive. He was also an excellent and safe driver. This was one of the best vacations we have ever taken.
Jonathan was our guide n he has a vast knowledge on the ruins that we saw. He was also able to speak english quite well.
I am having the best tme of my Andean tour here in Pisac eating the famous CUY with my awesome guide Carlitos and gentle driver Alcides. This Inca trail tour in Cusco, Peru, Is by far the best cultural tour I ever have. My guide and driver had gone out of their way to attend to all my extra requests especially stopping in places where I want a photo taken. I believed I made the right decisión in going with Inkayni Tours as the services are more customized than bigger tour companies. I have already recommended this tour with my family and friends. Sulpayki Carlos and Al.
This small group tour of Machu Picchu and Other Inka sites was wonderful. Our guide, Jonathan is an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed his guidance as well as his company. I also want to give two thumbs up for our driver, Fernando who skillfully maneuvered the van through many tight spots. I highly recommend this tour.
The 5-day Inkayni Tour from Cusco to Machu Picchu was wonderful! Our guide Jonathan and our driver Percy did an excellent job of taking us to all the best places and providing us with everything we needed. We were able to see a plethora of historical sites and small towns on the way to Machu Picchu. Not only did we learn about the history of the area, we were able to experience some local traditions and modern culture. I would definately recommend this tour to anyone looking to visit Peru!
From the moment we met our guide Jonathan and our driver Percy we knew we would have a great adventure. Everything was well planned. We got to do so much. Jonathan’s knowledge of the areas history was incredible. He answered our endless amounts of questions promptly and with great detail. It was an absolutely fantastic experience. One I will never forget. We owe it all to Jonathan and his team. I highly recommend this tour.
I did the 5-day tour with Jonathan and Percy and it was everything I could have hoped for! Jonathan, our tour guide, showed us all of the most important sites in Cusco and Machu Picchu and everything in between. He is extremely knowledgeable in Peruvian history and always made the tours interesting and fun. We never had to worry about the logistics of the tour, as everything was handled by Jonathan including tickets, transportation (thanks to Percy), luggage, and hotels. We could truly relax and just enjoy our trip! Muchas Gracias Jonathan and Percy for such a memorable once-in-a-lifetime trip!
The Inkayni Tour with Jonathan as our tour guide and Percy as our driver was the trip of a lifetime. Everything was taken care of by Jonathan and Inkayni tours. The tours were fun , knowledgeable and always geared to our requests . Bravo to Inkayni , Jonathan and the whole team.
had an amazing worry free adventure with every detail planned ahead of time so no surprises. each day was a blast, started with biking down a mountain with amazing view. overall a vacation of a life time, Peru is an amazing place to visit and the adventures are excellent. will return to Peru and choose same touring group Inkayni.
Fabulous ......... What a fantastic trip. Inkayni are brilliant..... We went see Inkayni in Cusco and they are so welcoming and accommodating. We wanted to add a bit extra to our Private Sacred Valley Tour and they did this with no trouble at all and it was a fantastic day out and our guide Wilfredo was excellent. Our 4 day 3 night Inca Trail Trek was just amazing..... Wilfredo was our guide again which was brilliant, the porters and the chef Sabino were just the best. The food was fabulous ..couldn't believe you could have such fantastic food when camping....better than a lot of restaurants. My husband and I ended up being the only 2 on the trek but it didn't matter one bit....in fact we felt very special .The whole experience was one of the best things I have ever done thanks to all our trekking team. I would definitely recommend Inkayni Tours... it may not be one of the big companies but it is one of the best ....it pays attention to its customers and nothing is too much for them. They also look to give back into their communities which I think is really important and valuable. Thank you .....I will never forget this trip and the people that made it so special
The best experience to get to know Cusco, take hikes and tours through the mountains and wonderful landscapes that Peru has. Excellent company and especially Edwin who was our guide, supporting us at all times. Edwin is a knowledgeable guide and has a way of teaching and explaining the culture of your country in a way that you will remember forever. Thank you very much for such a good trip.
We had an amazing experience! Jonathan was a super attentive guide in all the places we met, telling us the story in a super clear and enjoyable way, plus he was super attentive to all of us on all the journeys. We take a very nice memory of Peru!
Peru is a wonderful country, I had a great time I hope soon to return with friends and family. Thank you all it's special to my guide Johan!
The tour was very very tired, but it was totally worth it; we saw the most beautiful of Cusco and surroundings (Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Vinicunca and Humantay). Guide Frank was EXCELLENT; from his attention, his explanations so interesting and enjoyable, as well as supporting everyone in what they needed, from physical support, to first aid. I'd go back a thousand times to take this tour, if Frank is the guide. 5 stars at your service. Pd. Height is not a game; acclimate and take all local remedies for altitude sickness.
The tour was very father and the most complete we found to know the most places in the days we were going to be in Peru. We met Moray, Chinchero, Machu Picchu, Laguna de Humantay and the Mountain of 7 colors. Our guides Justin, Johan and our driver Ronnie were extremely attentive, friendly, friendly, cheerful people and conveyed all their good vibes. They made this journey extraordinary, very spiritual and that I will carry in my heart always. They shared things about their culture that enriched the experiences in all the places we visited and always very attentive to our needs and supporting us to reach the planned destinations. Definitely highly recommended and a unique experience.
Guide Lisseth was very attentive and friendly to the group. Very punctual. Very nice places and very well organized tours
It was amazing, the views, places, the guide Eddy very friendly and takes spectacular photos! The experience of Inca culture will be unforgettable
