2 Days And 1 Night Tour Of Inca Trail To Machu Picchu

Everything was perfect. Since the day before the trekking Ali Peru Treks (and our amazing guide Lino) had everything organized, that came you our hotel to make us ready for the start of the trek the day after. We had a little snack and an amazing lunch prepared by our cook in the middle of the trek, then the hotel they had booked for the night in águas calientes was very nice, and the dinner too. We even had booked the Rainbow Mountain tour with them, and, as well, everything was perfect. Absolutely recommend Ali Perù Treks!

My wife and I completed the two-day Short Inca Trail and Machu Picchu tour with Ali Peru Treks in October 2026. We were the only two participants in our group, which made for a more personal experience. The first day involved hiking approximately 7.5 miles from KM 104, visiting Chachabamba and Wiñay Wayna, and reaching the Sun Gate overlooking Machu Picchu. We encountered some very heavy rain along the way, but the hike was enjoyable and the scenery was impressive. After reaching the Sun Gate, we continued down to Machu Picchu and spent some time exploring the archaeological site. The following morning, we returned to Machu Picchu for a more detailed guided tour, this time in much better weather. Seeing the site on two different days was a nice part of the experience. Our guide, Mesias, was knowledgeable about Inca history and the archaeological sites. He took the time to explain what we were seeing and answer our questions, which added considerably to the experience. We also enjoyed having dinner with him in Aguas Calientes on the first evening. My wife particularly appreciated that he helped us practice our Spanish during dinner, which made for an enjoyable conversation. Lunch on the trail was very good. It was a prepared meal rather than something cooked on-site, consisting of quinoa, avocado, fresh vegetables, and chicken breast. The tour was well organized, including the early pickup in Cusco, train transportation, and arrangements between the two days. Overall, we were pleased with the experience and would recommend Ali Peru Treks, particularly Mesias, to anyone considering the two-day Short Inca Trail.

Mesias was an exceptional guide, and this tour company was by far the most superior. All the other groups around us seemed very cookie-cutter and impersonal. They were serving their guests box lunches, while our tour had an incredibly personalized chef experience that paid attention to our dietary restrictions and used local fresh ingredients of the highest caliber. My husband had the guidance he dreamt of, and I was plagued with a severe and debilitating fear of heights I didn’t know I had until getting up the mountain. Mesias helped guide me through the experience by literally holding my hand, and being patient to get me through one the most difficult mental experiences I’ve ever had. Thank you. 10 out of 10 out of 10!

Machu Picchu is a must see place. The tour company offers very good service, happy to accommodate our changes. Guide Sebastian is very caring, arranged everythingfor us. Made our journey very enjoyable. Only the hotel (Hatun Inti) is very noisy.

What an amazing experience. We would definitely recommend doing the Inca trail hike that leads you to Machu Picchu. The other Inca ruins we saw were worth ever step we took to get there. Our guide Sebastian was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and friendly and definitely made the adventure even more special. Pick up was easy. Spending the night in Aguas Caliente was also worth the experience. Very cute town. Can’t recommend this tour enough.

The tour was great. We had a sunny day and the view of Machu Picchu from the Sun gate was amazing! Also the hotel and the dinner after the trekking were great. And our guide, Ali Messias, was super helpful and prepared! Just a little suggestion: after your morning visit to Machu Picchu on day 2, book the earliest train possible to Ollantaytambo, since there is nothing to do in Aguas Calientes.

My 2 days and 1 night tour was well worth the money. My guide, Messiah, was knowledgeable, easygoing, and personable. As it was only the two of us, I got to set the pace for hiking, which was a bonus. For someone who doesn’t want to commit to a multi day hike with overnight camping, this is the tour to take. The hike to Machu Picchu was difficult but beautiful and made arrival at the site that much more special.

We just finished our tour with Mesias and it was amazing. The process was seamless, pick up was super easy, everything was planned out perfectly and very relaxing. Mesias was all around a great guide, experienced, knowledgeable, funny and entertaining. I would 100% recommend this exact tour to a friend and would do it again in a heart beat. Also, the hotel that they put us in was very nice and had great breakfast in the morning which was a huge plus. I recommend doing the hot springs too if you have extra time when you get back from the hike.

We are visiting Peru with a group of 5 friends & had an amazing time during the two days spent at Machu Picchu thanks to our exceptional tour guide Messias from Ali Peru Treks. We did the hike from KM104 to Sungate which was amazing followed by the next day with a visit to Machu Picchu Circuit 3. We had a blast! This was a fantastic tour and I highly recommend it. The hike was moderate difficulty, we took it slow and made it up with plenty of time to spare. The Inca trail is safe and wide. They provided a large lunch, and organised everything (trains, buses, accomodation), which was fantastic. Our tour guide Mattias was very passionate about the history of Peru and the Incas and was the perfect tour guide. I’ve learnt so much about the area, which was beautiful.

The best hike I’ve been on in my life, so beautiful! The family was very stressed about the altitude and difficulty particularly with parents over 60, but our guide took it slow and made it super achievable. Learnt a lot about every site and the history of the Incas, would greatly recommend doing this hike!!!

Mesias was a phenomenal tour guide. Incredibly knowledgeable about everything and was able to keep a very long and often tough hike fun and light. This is by far the best tour. There are no fees and allows you to explore Machu Picchu without any worries. Mesias is the man, will definitely be recommending everyone to him.

The 2 day Inca Trail tour was incredible! Our guide, Fernando, was extremely attentive to our needs and went along the trail at our pace. He also was very knowledgeable and taught us so much about the Inca empire and history of the various archaeological sites. The experience overall was seamless between being picked up in Cusco to taking the train from Ollantaytambo and the hike as well as the second day. I would recommend this experience to anyone that wants a challenge and wants to get an immersive and profound experience. My wife and I had a great time and I think this experience is even doable for children above 5 or so years old. I cannot say enough good things. Ali Peru Treks is awesome!

This tour was the absolute highlight of our trip to Peru! Having a guide to facilitate the entire experience of Machu Picchu was worth it's weight in gold. My friend and I got particularly lucky that for our tour group, it was only us two and Mesias our guide. Mesias was very knowledgeable and friendly. He was very accommodating for all of the groups requests and let us stop to enjoy the scenery very often while keeping the hike to a good pace. He also was a good photographer any time we wanted our picture taken.

10/10 experience. An amazing hike up the trail with to amazing views, food included was absolutely amazing. This was truly an amazing once in a life time experience for myself and family! Definitely one we will never forget. We were very fortunate to have Mesias as our guide. He arrived at our Airbnb the day before to go over the itinerary details, transportation arrangements, food and lodging provided, and what to expect on the Inca Trail and our visit to Machu Picchu. Day 1, the Inca Trail was a bit challenging at times for our family, but our guide, Mesias was the best! Not only was he passionate and informative about Incan history and culture throughout the hike, Mesias was patient and encouraging during the more difficult areas. My family and I truly enjoyed each sight along the trail. What you will see if choosing to visit is rather breathtaking and no picture can compare. We ended in Machu Picchu around 3pm and then down to Aguas Calientas. The arranged lodging and dinner was much appreciated by the end of the day. Day 2, we decided to return to Machu Picchu at the 6am sunrise, which is worth the early morning visit. Not only is it beautiful, but much cooler as Mesias guided us through the ruins. The historical aspects were amazing. Overall, the experience was wonderful and if you choose to book this tour we highly recommend requesting Mesias.

The Inca Trail on day 1 and Circuit 3 on day 2 make for a challenging hike for those with little experience. There was plenty of time to rest during the hike, something we appreciated. After entering Machu Picchu on day 1, we arrived at a good hotel around 3:30 PM. Despite the less than ideal weather on days one and two, which we knew was possible due to booking during the rainy season,the trip to Machu Picchu was definitely worth it, thanks to the unique view and the information we received in well spoken English about the special location, the route, and former inhabitants. For this two-day trip, the planning, transportation from and to our hotel in Cusco, all tickets, hotel, and most of the meals were taken care for us, making for a very comfortable experience. This way we could mainly focus on the hiking and having fun. We truly made memories during this tour, so I would definitely recommend booking this tour.

Had the best time and it was an incredible experience. It ended up being me and Lino, my guide which was wonderful as we could take the hike at my own pace, but was definitely rewarding coming through the sun gate into Machu Picchu. If you are coming in the rainy season bring a poncho and insect repellent. Had a great tour of Machu Picchu - circuit 2 the next day. Lino was knowledgeable on the flora, fauna and Inca history. He was also patient to wait for the clouds to pass so I could get some amazing photos.

What an incredible trip! We have had the best experience hiking with Ali! 100% recommend AliPeruTreks, a true local Peruvian tour company! Well organised from our briefing the night before, packed lunch, tickets for train, bus, hotel and to Machu Picchu. Ali was passionate and knowledgable about the Incan history and shared this with us throughout the Inca trail at the various sites and Machu Picchu. The packed lunch was delicious and perfect to refuel half way through our hike, and snack as we go. Ali was chief photographer too and got us all the best angles for photos that will last a lifetime. LLAMA hands. Thanks Ali for putting up with my constant selfies too! We had a delicious meal post the hike in Aguas Calientes and The hotel we stayed in for the night was fantastic too, a hot powerful shower (the best we’ve had in South America) was exactly what we needed and a comfortable bed for a great night sleep before hiking away a Picchu.

We had the best time! We booked this very last minute (2 weeks beforehand). It ended up being just the two of us and Ali our guide. Ali was exceptionally knowledgable and passionate about Incan history and really bought the Inca trail to life. The hike wasn’t easy but was so rewarding coming through the sun gate and into Machu Picchu. The hotel we stayed in in Aguas Calientes was good and dinner nice. Ali managed to help us to buy tickets for Huayana Picchu on the evening we arrived into Aguas Calientes for the next day. We then had a great tour of Circuit 3 and the hike up to the top. We then came down and had lunch before the train back. Would 100% recommend, this once in a lifetime experience was absolutely incredible!

My partner and I went on this tour and it was incredible! The most beautiful hike I have ever been on. Also, Ali Peru Treks are a smaller, locally owned company and we ended up being the only ones on the tour. It made the experience very personalized and intimate(not like the larger group tours we passed). We’re so thankful for our guide, Ciprian, as he was the most kind and wonderful person. My partner wasn’t feeling very well and was having a hard time with the trek(it is 10k, with quite the incline for the first 3 hours) and Ciprian carried her bag for her until she was feeling okay, this is just one of the many examples that show his wonderful character. We learned so much about the Inca, and also the Quechua people, as Ciprian made sure to share his culture with us. The coordination between getting picked up at our hostel in Cusco, getting on the train in Ollantaytambo, getting to the trail, and hiking to Machu Picchu was seamless since Ali Peru Treks booked it all. We were able to make the trek through the sun gate in the afternoon(which is the ideal time as the morning is often too rainy/cloudy at this time of year to see much of Machu Picchu). We got the most beautiful photos thanks to our guide. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to secure tickets for a second day of Machu Picchu as we had to purchase them in person after our trek and they were unexpectedly sold out due to school trips. Unfortunately we couldn’t wait around another day(which Ciprian was willing to do) because we had flights the next day. The company made sure to refund us the cost of the tickets. We still got the entire morning in Aguas Calientes with Ciprian and he continued to teach us about Machu Picchu, the Inka, and the Quechuan culture. As sad as we were to not get another day at Machu Picchu, this does not colour our experience poorly. All in all, we had a great time and would definitely recommend this truly locally owned company’s tour. It was the perfect amount of hiking for us(still very challenging) and we did not miss out on the beauty of the Inka trail.

We had an amazing tour with Wilbert! During our time he made sure that we had all the information we needed and even showed up to our hotel the day before the trek. He made the process simple and had all the details organized. He was willing to answer any question we had. (Plus he helped us find great spots to eat). We enjoyed our time with him! This trip was the perfect combination of getting to see the nature and Incan Trail as well as time to explore and learn the history of Manchu Picchu. We also enjoyed the stay at Aguas Calientes and were happy with the clean, warm, hotel room. We have so many incredible pictures and memories from this trip that we will treasure! My partner and I had an amazing experience booking with Ali Perú Treks for our 2 day/1 night Inca Trail and Machu Picchu trip. From start to finish everything was very organized and the trip went without any hiccups. Our tour guide, Ali, was the best and made sure all of our needs were met. My husband and I (both in our 70's) did not know the challenge we would be facing on Day 1 of the 2-Day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu trek. After 7+ hours of hiking up and down 5,000+ rock steps we were ready for the bus to take us to our hotel in Aquas Calientes. But we're SO glad we had Mesias for our guide. He helped keep us hydrated and pace ourselves to be able to finish. He is very knowledgeable about the history and culture- having grown up in the area. The views are breathtaking. It was raining when we got to the Sun Gate, but the fog cleared for a few seconds to reward us with our first view of Machu Picchu. On Day 2, we took a bus to MP (thankfully). Mesias shared interesting information about the ruins-again-at our pace. And the PeruRail train ride is spectacular. Thanks so much to Ali Peru Treks and our wonderful guide, Mesias. It was hard, but we loved the experience. It was a well planned tour.

This was a mother and son trip of a lifetime. Our guide Mesias was incredible from the safety call the day before to the leadership and education on the trail. He took amazing photos and was so encouraging and patient when I was a little slow going up the steep stairs. He took great care of us along the way. I could not have made the day 1 portion without him. On day two he was an excellent guide as we toured the ruins at Machu Pichu. We learned so much. The company covered all the logistics and we were incredibly comfortable the whole way. It was one of the best two days of my life and loved sharing it with my son and Mesias.

It Was a wonderful tour .
