We did the 1 days in a trail and circuit 1 the first day and waynapicchu and circuit 3 the second day. Everything was well organized including the transportation, meals and hotel. Ronald was the best guide!

We did a custom 4d/3n short Inca trek with Sacred Valley tour and it was fantastic from start to finish. David and Alicja were both excellent in their communication prior to the tour starting and we felt in very safe and capable hands. They were flexible and willing to make adjustments based on our requests. David was an excellent guide who was incredibly knowledgeable, not only about Inca history but about Peruvian culture and modern history too. I really recommend using Andean Path if you're considering travel in Peru and the Cusco region
I loved my trip from start to finish. The communication prior to the trip was more detailed and personal than I have ever experienced before on any trip. I had a very thorough briefing the night before so I was well prepared. It was very handy that I got a duffle bag to put my stuff in that I didn' need for the hike itself but needed later for the overnight stay. That way I didn't have to carry everything and my things magically appeared in my hotel in Aguas Calientes. The trail itself is just beautiful. From the landscape to the inca sites along the way to the magical view of Machu Picchu at the end - it was a very special experience to me. The guide Melquiades was super knowledgeable and attentative. He made sure I had the best possible time. He was very patient so I could do the hike at my own pace, take lots of pictures etc. It was fun for me to practice my Spanish with him but his English is excellent so we quickly switched again. Wandering around Machu Picchu, he had so much knowledge to share, it blew my mind. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is a little intimidated by the 4day Inca trail but wants to have a similar experience. Accomodation and food were great too so I felt well taken care of all around. As a solo traveller, it was perfect for me.
My trip was more than I could have expected! I am so grateful to experience the 2-day inka trail hike! And my tour guide Melquiades was amazing! He was so knowledgeable! He answered all our questions, knew all the best spots to take pictures, and was very patient with me when hiking! I recommend the 2-day inka trail hike also because we were able to get pictures of Huayna Picchu on a clear day and cloudy day, since the weather can be unpredictable.
Our tour of Machu Picchu with Melquiades (The homie Melky🤙🏽) was absolutely amazing! He was so knowledgeable about the history and culture, and explained everything in a way that made it easy to connect with. At Machu Picchu, he showed us the best viewpoints, shared fascinating stories, and made the experience unforgettable. He was also very friendly, organized, and always made sure everyone in the group was comfortable and drinking enough water. I highly recommend Melquiades if you’re planning to visit Peru 🇵🇪 you won’t regret it!
The whole experience from the start of the brief with the manager to the hike and explanations of all the sites we visited were amazing. I highly recommend this tour group if you want someone local to provide an accurate account and a very safe path to visit Machu Picchu. Our guide, Melquiades was very patient and took us to some secret off the beaten path spots. He also was able to take some very good pictures of each of us at various stops
My friends and I completed the 2-day trek that included the short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu (starting at Km 104) and climbed Huayna Picchu the following day. This experience exceeded all our expectations and was absolutely the highlight of our Peru trip. Our Guide Ricardo made all the difference. He was truly exceptional, his extensive knowledge of Inca culture and history transformed our trek from a simple hike into an immersive cultural journey. He didn’t just point out ruins; he shared captivating stories and historical context that helped us truly understand the significance of what we were witnessing. Beyond his expertise, Ricardo’s warm personality and attentiveness made our group feel completely at ease. He anticipated our needs and went above and beyond to ensure we had a stress-free, enjoyable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone considering an Inca Trail experience. The combination of expert guidance, flawless organization, and genuine care for their clients sets them apart from other operators.
Great experience! Our guide, Franklin was kind and knowledgeable. The accommodations were well thought through and well coordinated. Our group ended up being just our couple which made for a well paced hike and tour.
We had a great experience with Andean Path Travel, from the moment we approached them until the end of our experience in Cusco. David and his team were very helpful and made everything easy for us. We definitely recommend them!
I had the most incredible experience exploring Machu Picchu thanks to my amazing guide, David. He was extremely knowledgeable and shared so much insight that truly enriched the journey. Beyond that, he was easy to talk to, kind, and deeply supportive throughout the entire day. As a solo traveler, I felt completely safe and supported—especially during the more challenging parts of the climb. He went above and beyond to make sure I had a thorough and meaningful experience, gently encouraging and motivating me when I needed it most. So grateful for this unforgettable adventure. I highly recommend his guidance to anyone visiting Machu Picchu.
Our guide, Ronald, was excellent. As older walkers (in our late sixties), the pace was on the slower side but Ronald was consistently encouraging and patient. Throughout our 13km hike on day 1 and the Machu Picchu tour on day 2, he constantly informed us about the local flora, birds and history. He was able to give us the english names of the plants and birds and his knowledge of Inca culture was extensive. All tickets and admin arrangements were taken care and worked well.
Andean Path Travel arranged everything for our family. David was an excellent guide. He oriented us to the trip, guided us along the way and encouraged those who had more difficulty in the trek, explained the history and kept us safe and entertained. His advice was excellent. The company communicated well and picked us up in a van at our hotel in Cusco, then accompanied us throughout the journey. Our meals and hotels were arranged and all was handled until we were back in our hotel at Cusco on night 2. It was the experience of a lifetime. Highly recommend!!!
This was a once in a lifetime adventure. I would highly recommend the company and to pay the extra money to have a private tour. They picked us up in a private van and we had our own tour guide the whole time. We could go at our own pace and not get slowed down or pressured to leave a site early when you go with a group. They provided a great packed lunch and the hotel and dinner was fine.
This Short Inca Trail tour was unforgettable! The scenery was breathtaking, and our guide, Ronald was outstanding—sharing deep knowledge of Inca history and making the journey safe and enjoyable. The hike was challenging but so rewarding, with stunning views around every corner. Finally reaching Machu Picchu was magical, a moment of awe that I’ll remember forever. I highly recommend adding Huayna Picchu climbing to see another view of Machu Picchu! Thank you. ありがとう!
Spectacular views, historic sites, good food, nice shopping, and a clean country + lovely people! We did the Short Inca trail with Andean Path run by Alicja and David. They were very prompt with their communication, helpful with answering all our questions, and punctual with their meeting times. David was our hiking guide and he is a great hiking buddy and super nice. He gave us a lot of history about Machu Pichu, several Incan sites, and the salt mines. He was very helpful throughout our hike. We had a fantastic time overall exploring Machu Pichu, Cusco, Chinchero, Maras salt mines, Moray Incan ruins, Sacred Valley, etc. I highly recommend them for your tours in Peru.
Our trip to Machu Picchu has been amazing and was made even more memorable by our lovely tour guide David! So knowledgeable and friendly, and very patient with us when we were going quite slowly. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a very seamless trip!
Amazing experience!! Highly recommend!! We did the 2 day Inca Trail with our family, kids 12 and 13. Ron was our guide and he is a big part of wjmhy this was just a great experience. He is knowledgeable and passionate about Inca culture. He taught us many aspects of Inca culture and the history of the ruins. He also shared his knowledge of local plants and animals. On the hike, we was both patient and encouraging, especially with the kids. His superb photography skills helped us get the best family photos along the trek and at Machu Picchu. They took care of every detail for us (food, transportation, accommodation) and eailty accommodated a celiac diet. All we had to do was walk and enjoy the spectacular scenery. The communication from Andean Path was excellent and professional. We felt confident booking this trip and we are so, so glad that we did. This was a highlight of our trip and Andean Path with Ron as our guide were phenomenal. Thank you so much for this unforgettable experience.
From the moment I enquired about the 2 day inca Trail to us being dropped off at our hotel in Cusco afterwards, we felt supported and well informed with every step of the way. David who I dealt with at the beginning was very patient and assisted with all my questions. Upon booking, my initial deposit failed and Alicja and David were very understanding and patient with us until the payment was made. The night before the hike, our guide Ronald came to meet us at our hotel for a briefing of what to expect. Ronald was super amazing at explaining what the hike was going to entail. The day of the hike came and I can’t express enough just how magical this trail was. Ronald, our guide was just the most perfect and passionate person to explain the history of the Incas, the fauna and always making sure we were safe. We were lucky to only have myself and my husband on the hike, we hiked at our own pace and it felt so personal and intimate. We loved every minute of the 2 day Inca trail, it is a must and I would highly recommend booking with Andean path travel. The most important thing for us was communication and this is exactly what they delivered. I hope you get lucky and get Ronald as your guide too as he really was the icing on the cake on this hike. Truly a wonderful and magical experience. Highly highly recommend.
From the beginning to the end is nothing short of amazing! David & Alicja was superb in assisting us in booking this magical experience. “Professor” Rom aka Ronalde is magnificent, the trip would not have been so beautiful, insightful and truly enjoyable if it was not for him!! We can’t thank Ron enough for creating this wonderful experience for us!! His knowledge and true passion is inspirational and we loved every moment of our trip. Oh and his photography skills are beyond superb!!! Muchas Gracias Senor.
Everything was amazing. Booked hotel, food and guide. He became my best friend for these days. Everything was clear. I got the best time
We had a great experience with the travel service. The organizer Alicja and David were responsive and professional. They sent all details clearly ahead of the time which is very helpful. The tour guides from them were also great for our Sacred Valley tour and the MP hiking tour. Both guides are veterans in the area. Overall we would use them again if we come back later.
Having already visited Machu Picchu once previously "in a hurry" (one a one day return trip by train) I was keen to revisit but this time with the added experience of walking the footsteps of the ancient Incan trail. With a really personal experience and a stellar review history both being priorities, me and my partner eventually settled upon Andean Path Travel to book our Two Day Incan Trail trek. From first contact, both Alicja and David immediately set us at ease; all responses to our (many) questions were answered quickly and fully, with Davide being particularly detailed and thorough during his briefing. All of this made sure that we were 100% prepared, ready and eager to begin. In short, the trek itself was an absolute dream (and well worth the earlier start time, per Davide's recommendation). Shortly after dawn, we jumped off the train from Ollayantaytumbo at the 104km train stop and began the most incredible journey, through the Wiñay Wayna ruins and the awesome Sun Gate (where we stopped for the most delicious box lunch), until we reached Machu Picchu itself in all of its glory (magnified, even, by the very many steps that preceded our arrival). Along the way, Davide was a really excellent guide, exhibiting every bit of his natural inquisitiveness and deep knowledge of Incan history (together with his patience for our countless questions). His passion was infectious and massively contributed to making the whole journey even more special. Overall a 5 star, A + experience. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Andean Path Travel to anyone looking to organise a first class trek in the Cusco / Andean region!
Being a new traveller to South America, communication, experience, and reliability were key when embarking on the bucket list Inca Trail to Macchu Pichu. From the moment of introduction to the last goodbye, every aspect of each trip was planned personally and meticulously. The personal touch Alicja and David were able to apply was the cherry on top of a lifelong memory. Prior to arrival Andean Path Travel were able to give a full detailed itinerary in an easy to digest, stress free format, this included packing lists, FAQs, and an extremely responsive Q/A contact. Upon arrival, the prior planning from the team was evident in the number of permits, bookings and transportation arrangements had been made in advance. This meant, I was purely able to turn up and have the remainder of plans laid out seamlessly for me. We opted for the two-day trek on the legendary Inca Trail with hotel stay. This started with an early train from Ollayantatambo, this was an experience it itself, hiking from Km 104 on the trainline. We shortly crossed the Amazon river, then made our way onto the hike. The weather was changeable but made for an exciting trip! David was really prepared and reassuring for a visitor new to the country. It was clear how precious the Sacred Valley is to the Peruvians, with permit checks frequently across the trek, David managed this whole process by showing passes and managing communication with Rangers. The trip and is luscious flora and fauna were a site to behold, David often stopping to share information on the beautiful orchids, or wildlife which was a plenty during the hike! David had vast array of historical and archaeological knowledge, both about the Inca’s themselves and the development/protection of the trail, he stopped the group regularly to impart this knowledge and to ensure a pace suitable for the whole group. David fostered a jovial uplifting atmosphere, even when the hike was becoming tough in the heat of the day. Throughout the trip our safety and comfort were well prioritised, the boxed lunch was delicious and most probably the best packed lunch I’ve ever had – we soon learn that this was provided by a small company in Ollantaytambo! How sweet?! David stopped us for lunch at the ‘Sun Gate’ – the first official look over Macchu Pichu it all of its glory – wow! Time was permitted here for a breather and some all-important photo snaps! The remainder of the hike seemed to go really quickly as we made the decent to Macchu Pichu, again all tickets and passes were sorted, and we didn’t have to worry about anything administrative. David shared more local knowledge with us as we continued the walk. Finally, we made it onto the breath-taking photo platform, David shared some fun ideas for panoramic shots, we also had some time to sit and unsure the sight was engrained in our memories forever. This was a really peaceful time, this was very welcomed after the early start. When we were all ready, we made our way down into Macchu Pichu Town, again with regular rest breaks and fact sharing intervals. We were kept together as a group and spirits were high! When arriving into Macchu Pichu we were taken for a short snack, the Peruvian recommendations were excellent – feasting on Tequenos and Guacamole! We were then escorted to our hotel to settle in and freshen up! The hotel was in an ideal location for exploring the town. It was a clean, safe and most importantly, had a great shower after the hot trip! After some further relaxation time, we made our way to the evening restaurant. Little did I know I was about to have the best pizza EVER! It was clear David and Alicja had scoped out all options in the locality, and settled on an amazing choice, After a huge pizza and one too many cocktails we made the guided slump back to the friendly hotel. The following morning, David had arranged for us to attend the Hot Springs of Macchu Pichu town, David had arranged for first entry into the springs meaning it was ours to use exclusively until locals arrived a little later – this was the perfect way to re-energise after the trek the previous day. Again, costs included, organisations made, I just had to bring my bikini! This was definitely a great added extra. After returning to the hotel for a simple breakfast, we made the hike back up to Macchu Pichu. This was a brilliant way to soak in the true majesty of the historic sight, again, plans made to beat the masses to the top. Entry again, arranged – we were treated to a detailed exploration around the Incan ruins. Having done my fact finding prior to the trip – I was able to ask David some complex questions – he answered each with confidence and with ease – it is clearly a passion of his. Following the two hour tour, we made our way back down to Macchu Pichu down for some refreshing lunch and the train journey back to Ollantaytambo. David and Alicja were again, waiting for us at the station for us to embark on the final ‘Collectivo’ bus journey back to Cusco. David and Alicja entertained us exceptionally well, they were wholehearted and thorough in every decision they made for us, and even provided the glittering extras we really didn’t expect. I would have no hesitation in recommending Andean Path Travel for anybody travelling into Peru, in fact I’d way it was a necessity! Thanks Andean Path Travel!
Our family of 4- 2 adults, 17 yo, 12 yo did the 2 day short Inca trail with our guide David. David prepared us well for the hike, his advice on everything we needed for the trip was spot on. Our train seats, our hotel in aquas calientes, our lunch for the hike, our dinner at the restaurant all booked by David were perfect! The hike at times was hard but David made sure to keep us going with his encouragement and conversations. David also kept the kids engaged through out the hike. He is also an excellent photographer and was able to take some great shots of our family at Machu Picchu. We learnt a lot about ancient Incan history, culture, geography, local cuisine on our 2 day hike with David. I highly recommend David and were so happy to support his small local company!
Andean Path Travel is a small family run company and it shows. They treat you like family the entire time! We spent almost 2 weeks in South America and this was the highlight of our entire trip. Two days was the perfect amount of time hiking the Inca trail and seeing Machu Picchu. Our guide David was absolutely spectacular. He went above and beyond. From meeting with us prior to the hike so that we knew what to pack and how to prepare, to ensuring the pace/water breaks worked for everyone on the trail. David was so personable and answered all our questions. He also gave us great recommendations for the rest of our travels. If I were to do it all again or try another hike, I would choose Andean Path Travel every single time. Thank you for a truly once in a live time experience.
This was the highlight of our South America trip! Our experience was absolutely amazing all thanks to Andean Path Travel and our guide, David. David and Alicja made it an absolutely stress free process starting from right when we booked. They were very quick to respond and coordinated transportation, all of the entry tickets, hotel, restaurants.. everything! We just showed up and had the best time! David is extremely knowledgeable, fun, easy to get along with, and so kind!! Our hikes were a perfect combination of hiking and stops for learning and photo opps. The food included in the tour was amazing. We even learned a new game (the frog game), similar to American cornhole, that we stopped at a place on the way back to Cusco to play! We were a small group and that made the experience much more personalized and valuable. Don’t go with a big tour company- you won’t get the bucket list experience you’re dreaming of. You’ll get that with Andean Path. It’s evident that Andean Path truly cares about, and prioritizes, their guests’ experiences. We would love to visit again and do more of their tours. Thank you Andean Path Travel!! Traveler tip for those doing the 2-day Machu Picchu hike, do the Huayna Picchu add on for day 2. Absolutely amazing!
Our tour guide Alicja was absolutely amazing and very knowledgeable. Very organized and easy to enjoy. The experience was unforgettable and would definitely highly recommend!
Our 2 Day short Inca trail trip to Machu Picchu was a trip of a lifetime. David, our guide from Andean Path was not only super friendly, but knowledgeable, extremely professional and truly looked after all of us! David went above and beyond, anticipating our every need. We learned so much history of Peru, Incas and Machu Picchu from him. When my husband and I didn't have it in us to hike Rainbow Mountain following the 2 Day Inca hike, David happily took our daughter and her friend to Rainbow Mtn and also Red Valley. We absolutely trusted David to take them on this next hike. He made sure they were well hydrated, had good food and paced them up the mountain and back down. They said it was an amazing trip with him. We cannot speak more highly of Andean Path Travel with Alicja's professionalism, prompt and concise communication to help us get organized for our trip, and of course our impressive guide! We would love to return to Peru and would definitely call upon Andean Path and David to lead us on another memorable adventure. Thank you again to Andean and the entire team for creating wonderful lasting memories! The Stern Family PS I have already passed along Andean Path to several families here in Colorado who heard about our adventure!
I’m so glad I went with Andean Path Travel as my agency for the 2 Day Inca Trail. This small local business provided such a phenomenal experience and I haven’t been able to stop talking about it to my family and friends. David from Andean Path Travel was recommended to me through a friend and since the beginning he has been super helpful and informative. Being a solo traveler coming to Cusco for the first time was a bit nerve racking, but David made sure everything was well planned and well communicated. He gave me a briefing on what to expect on the trail, what to bring, when and where to meet, and made sure that someone from the tour agency was with me since the moment I stepped out of the hotel until I got back. The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu itself was amazing. Not only were the view amazing but also my guide, Edy, who was such a pleasant and knowledgeable person. All the guides are fluent in English, Spanish, and Quechua! Words and pictures can’t describe the feelings and the views you see along the trail and in the archeological site of Machu Picchu. I was awestruck the entire time. This has been one of the most pleasing and premium travel experiences I’ve had. I would highly recommend this to anyone that is seeking to have an amazing time on the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu.
I booked the 2-days inca trail with David, the tour manager of Andean path travel directly. It was a smooth process, he is the best at organizing cars, trains, permits, tickets, nice hotel and nice meals in a very short notice. Very impressive for amount of work he did compare to the time I gave him, really. Rom, my trek guide is patient, knowledgeable and cares about your once in a lifetime experience to get how you want it to be. I have joy when I looked back at those photos from the trip. Every part of itinerary was on time, professional and customer satisfaction base. I feel safe and happy. Recommend this local operator, look no further. I will use them again in the future. Thank you.
Let me start by explaining how David went above and beyond to get permits for our trip in the last minute. We called Andean path travel via WhatsApp, one day before of our trip to check if he can accommodate us. He did some magic and got permits for next day. It’s just unbelievable. We did the 2 day short Inca Trail and David was beyond exceptional. His English was excellent, his local knowledge from being from a near by town meant we got a very personal history tour, not only about the Incas, but the local fauna and Flora. His passion was admirable. David made the experience perfect for someone who wants to hike and learn about the history! It was definitely a trip of a lifetime. I highly recommend!
Booked with them last minute and couldn’t be happier with the experience. My guide, David, was extremely helpful from the start by meeting the night before to discuss the logistics. He made sure each part of the transport went smoothly and removed any worries. The hike itself was beautiful and made you feel like you earned the rewarding views of Machu Picchu. David was great company the entire time and extremely knowledgeable about the history of each site. If you have the opportunity you should book with this local company. They will provide attention that bigger companies simply cannot along with an unforgettable experience.
We did the 2-day Inca Trail with David and he was an excellent tour guide. He was knowledgable and informative, never leaving us with questions during the entirety of our trip. He was also just great to hang out with grabbing a bite after the hiking and tour. This was by far our best tour experience during our stay in Peru. Would 1000% recommend.
David was our lifesaver, he was a very good tour guide, he was very responsive to our needs and we had two fabulous days together. everything was well organized. Thank you
We did two days Inca trail hike and Sacred Valley Tour and Rainbow mountain Hike with Andean Path Travel. Communication was very easy with David, very well organized, helpful, our family had an amazing experience in Peru, David is extremely professional, we were very happy with his service, we highly recommend Andean Path Travel to anyone who wants have seamless experience in visiting Machu Picchu.
What an amazing trek with Roneld! David came to our hotel in the Sacred Valley the night before to give us the itinerary, packing list, and to answer any questions. Everything was seamless. All of the private transport, hotel, and tickets were ready to go with absolutely no confusion. Doing this on my own would have been impossible. Thank you David for such a well organized experience! Roneld was so much fun to trek with. He is highly experienced and a great storyteller. He was able to share allot of history while bringing life to the stories. Roneld is also an amazing photographer and took allot of great photos for us along the way. We ended up spending a great deal of time with Roneld; just a great and genuine person to be around with lots of knowledge about his country and its culture. This is definitely a once in a lifetime experience and I’m glad we went with Andean Path and Roneld, it could not have been easier.
Simply an incredible and unforgettable experience. If you are thinking of doing the Inca trail but don’t know which company to reach for, don’t hesitate a second about booking with Andean Path Travel. Read the rest, I will be generous of comments because this company is a real gem and I will tell you why in details: 1- A company you can trust, organized. A trip to Macchu Pichu takes a lot of planning. You can’t walk on the Inca trail by yourself. You need to purchase a permit for the path. You’ll also need the train tickets. While some people simply visit Macchu Pichu with the circuit included in the Inca trail permit (short), we wanted to do the longer circuit, so we also wanted to purchase an additional machu pichu ticket to explore the site like with the circuit we wanted on the second day. Having to purchase all of these tickets on official government websites in Spanish by yourself sounds like a logistical nightmare where a lot can go wrong. I have seen people being desperate because on the day of their planned activities, having booked with less reputable companies, something was wrong with their Macchu Pichu or train ticket and what not. This is not the kind of stress you want. 2- Easy communication, before, during and after the trip. The owner, David, speaks excellent English. He is also very responsive. Sometimes, he is hiking with a group so he may not answer, but you usually hear from him within a few days. Before leaving for Peru, months in advance, we were able to communicate with him, discuss our needs and plan the trip. When we arrived in Cusco, David met us at our hotel to give us the whole detailed briefing on the expedition and answer our questions. 3- A turnkey experience. With this adventure, you really have nothing to prepare except to bring the stuff in your day pack that they advise you to bring. The service was phenomenal. David booked a really nice hotel at Aguas Calientes for us. He had the Inca trial permit, the Macchu Pichu tickets, the train tickets both ways, and the bus tickets to move between the Macchu Pichu site and Aguas Calientes. The lunch you have for the hike on the first day is also delicious and perfect too. 4-Simply a great guide and local guy! I’ll speak for David, because he ended up being our guide, but he was just awesome. David is super respectful, curious and a good conversationalist. He is interested about everything, which means you can discuss literally any subject with him. To me, he is an international man. He likes to learn about other countries and to travel. But don’t be mistaken, he is deeply rooted in his country too and knows about pretty much any question you could have about Peru and the history of the Incas and Macchu Pichu of course. David is actually from a village on the Inca trail. You can’t get a guide more local then that. He grew up seeing adventurers walking to the Macchu Pichu before the site was even accessible by train. When we were walking on the site during the tour, we would often hear other guides speaking of things that David could actually fact-correct or bring nuances too, because he really knows a lot and will bring you information to the level of details that you want. During the Inca trail, David can also teach you about other Inca sites you cross, plants and animals, etc. I had an amazing time and could not recommend this company more warmly to anyone considering doing the Inca trail and visiting Macchu Pichu that way. Adventure made accessible !
Did the Inca trail (2 days 1 night) with Andean path travel Our guide was lovely and the trail amazing However I remove one star: - hotel was definitely bad : too noisy, walls were very thin so you can hear other people walking, talking, running… and a bit out of centre (not the one advertised : Waman Hotel - Machu Picchu Standard, then we’re bring to Terrazas de Luna…) - food was average : both “partners” restaurants were so-so Price was 450$ pp for tour + 75$ pp extra for Huayna Picchu
My husband and I went back and forth whether we wanted to do a short 2 day Inca trail, or the full 4-5 day experience. Ultimately we chose the shorter trip and are so happy with our decision! If you are looking for more than Machu Picchu but don't have enough time in your trip for a full 4-5 day hike, this is the PERFECT experience. David was SO responsive and helpful with planning our trip. Everything was very clear and organized. We had Rom as our tour guide for the trip and loved getting to know him. Since my husband doesn't speak Spanish, an English tour was really important to us, and Rom did a wonderful job. He gave us lots of historical information, offered to take our photos along the way, and hiked at a comfortable pace. The lunch provided was delicious and large, and the hotel we stayed in was nice. We signed up for the Huayna Picchu hike as well, and Rom nicely guided us up the mountain on our second day of hiking. Heads up, we are experienced hikers and Huayna Picchu is a tough hike. Be prepared for uphill/steps the entire hike. My husband and I would DEFINITELY recommend Andean Path and will be booking them again if we ever travel back to Peru. Thank you for such an amazing experience!
This was an excellent tour. It was well organized, fun, and informative. David was our guide and he was definitely the best of all the guides we had during our 10 days in Peru. He gives great advice. Listen to his suggestions, ask him any questions, and prepare for a wide temperature range during the hike to see the fantastic views of Machu Picchu. I suggest acclimating to the altitude in Cusco or Sacred Valley before attempting this hike.
David was great! He was very knowledgeable and made the experience really enjoyable. He’s personable and goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable. It was as if you were hiking with your friend. He even helped me take photos along the way of my stuffed monkey! I would definitely book with him again!
We did the 2 day short inca trail to Machu Picchu. The communication prior to the tour was very responsive and thorough. Our group of 4 had an amazing experience with David!! My brother struggled with the hike due to the altitude, but David was extremely patient and even helped him carry his backpack. He pointed out great spots to take photos and helped us take as many photos as we wanted. He has a fun personality, and he’s so knowledgeable about Incan history! Highly recommend!!
Did the 2 day short inca trail guided trip with David. He came to our hotel the day before the trip to explain the process and answer any questions we had. We paid the rest of the fee in cash which seems to be the norm here. We were picked up in a van at the exact time he said. Took a train ride to our starting point. David then guided us through the inca trail. He had tons of knowledge of the area, history, and culture. He was patient with us and helped us take photos and even pointed out great photo spots! I had difficulty breathing at one point so he volunteered to carry my bag to give me a break! He went above and beyond, and was an exceptional guide. Would highly recommend!
Seeing Machu Picchu had been a bucket list experience for us since we were children, finally being able to achieve that felt amazing and David our guide made sure to make it a memorable one. He is very knowledgeable about Inca history and Machu Picchu, easy to chat to and able to have a laugh with and made sure to take us to the best photo spots. From start to finish David was highly professional and well organised making sure everything was catered for. The whole trip ran smoothly and without a hitch, we would highly recommend David to anyone.
Attention/Care given by leader David who is fluent in English and Spanish. Having grown up in the Sacred Valley his knowledge and passion is superb. Due to illness I managed only day 2 but he helped smooth a longer stay in accomidation to allow recovery but he came to collect a group of 4 of us who arrived late in the evening .Choice of accomodation was very good, clean, comfortable, breakfast was good. Timing was strict ,all went smooth. Machu Picchu has to be experienced to be believd it's outstanding marvellous, the weather was very kind. Having not done day 1, I wanted to walk back ,about 1hr 20, use a walking pole for at risk knees! Breathtaking views and close ups of flora, the fast running River, absolutely worth the walk. The train journey is a bit of magic. Thank you David.
Andean Path Travel was very responsive and helpful by email while we planned our private trek, and David was an incredible tour guide on our short Inca trail hike. He helped us with many things before, during and after our trek that helped make this a great experience.
Me and my two friends done Machu Picchu and loved it from start to finish! I would like to say how amazing David is (the tour guide) I don’t do well with heights and David made sure I felt carm the whole two days! Held my hand when needed and made sure I didn’t panic - in all honestly it wasn’t bad at all!! We done the day tour - David picked us up from our hostel the day before our tour, Then we got a bus and train to MP town, stayed the night (David sorted the hostel, it was great!) The next morning we took ourselves up to Machu Picchu. Just too add.. when David picked us up at the very start he took us on a mini tour with no charge (2 hours out of his own time) All because he wanted us too see this beautiful town near the train station and believe me it was beautiful. I would 100%! Recommend this tour! He went above and beyond 😅
Completed the trip with David and everything was perfect. All logistics were handled well, timing of everything was great and he always knew when it's best to get where for avoiding crowds and getting the best views. Also learned a lot about Peru's history, the Incas and the wildlife.
We had a wonderful time on our trip and really enjoyed it. We got a bit unlucky with a landslide which blocked the train and some heavy rain. But David reorganised everything really quickly and made sure we hade the best experience. So happy we booked this tour which comes with the best guide (who is also great at taking the perfect Picture to make everyone jealous) And for all the vegetarians out here: Their food is great and well balanced. So not just pasta or some rice. Thank you so much David for this great time!
I had an amazing experience with David, everything was well organized, even the packed lunch came from a local organic restaurant. David speaks a perfect English and I learnt a lot about history and more generally about life in Peru from him. I really recommend Andean Path Travels!
