My wife and I went on the 2 day Inca trail. Even with both of us being sick, we loved it. The trail was challenging at the start but was full of beautiful views. Machu Picchu itself was breath taking. It has to be the best wonder in the world. We had Wilian Elvis as our tour guide and I can not recommend him enough! He was professional, fun, organized, and attentive. We were honored to he able to listen to him explain his culture and the history of the Inca empire with such passion. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone in the group was comfortable and having a good time. On the way back to Cusco, we ran into traffic that was a complete stop. Some people on our van had an upcoming flight, so Wilian literally got out of the van to direct traffic. I was speechless. 👏

Had a really great trip, Soledad our guide was amazing and knew so much about the history of the area as well as about all the plants in the region. The food made by Noemi was really really good as well, the lunch we had along the hike was awesome. And Juan the porter got all of our things there and back again. Had a great trip!
We had a wonderful time doing the short Inca Trek with camping. Soledad was an amazing tour guide, so knowledgeable and comprehensive in all her explanations. The food was very good thanks to our chef Noemi, there were so many options and they were very accommodating to me having a pescatarian diet. Juan was our porter and extremely nice and helpful. Overall would highly recommend and am thinking about coming back to do another trek in the future.
The organization & logistics were excellent. We didn't have to worry about tickets (train, bus, site etc) and we had a nice accommodation to start directly from Ollantaytambo. The guide was very knowledgeable and patient, the food during the hiking was very good. I give 4/5 value for money, not because the value was bad (it was great) but because this is quite expensive. But if you can afford it, you won't regret it at all.
We had an incredible experience on our trip to Peru! From start to finish, the logistics were completely seamless. The pickup was right on time and completely hassle-free, which gave us peace of mind from day one. Our guide truly made the trip special. They were incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and thorough in answering all of our questions. We never felt rushed at any point during the tour, allowing us to fully absorb the stunning views and rich history at our own pace. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend this tour to anyone planning a visit to Peru!
Everything was very well organized. Elias was very kind, patient, and knowledgeable, and shared a lot of interesting information with us. Daniel prepared a delicious lunch. Overall, a wonderful experience! Highly recommended.
I did the 2-day Inca Trail solo with Alpaca Expeditions, and my guide Joyce was a huge part of what made it such an incredible experience. He was super kind from the moment we met, and his knowledge of Inca history, the ruins, and the landscape brought every part of the trail to life. I learned so much more than I ever could have on my own. Joyce was also wonderfully encouraging. Whenever the climb got tough, he was there with a positive word to keep me going, and his great sense of humor had me laughing the whole way. Traveling solo, I really appreciated that he always put my safety first, checking in on me and making sure I felt confident and cared for the entire time. A big thank you as well to my porter, Darwin, who worked so hard behind the scenes. His help and support made the trek so much easier and let me fully enjoy every moment on the trail. If you're booking with Alpaca Expeditions, I can't recommend Joyce and Darwin enough. Thank you both for making my journey to Machu Picchu so special!
We had very memorable and pleasant trip, big kudos/thanks to our guides Javier and Ever. They took time to explain all the history, philosophy and ways of Inca. One of us needed help with the hike, they very patiently helped, motivated, carried luggage and went extra miles. They helped us with each steps including small details like train stations pick and drop, restaurants etc. Great experience and we strongly recommend Alpaca
Would do this again and hopefully we can do the classic trail if we ever go back. Great communication and guide (Reynaldo). Our trip was very informative. Amazing views and history! Had a little mishap regarding our duffel bags at the end of the tour but Rey finally found it. One or two negatives I may say and I have seen it from other review as well is the awkwardness around tipping for the porter and cooks. It is optional but feels like mandatory. My husband and I are a huge tipper but it is off putting most of the time, if not all the time, when asked for a certain amount. Our group definitely appreciate all the food served but it was too much food considering that we just hike for hours and will hike right after eating. Based on our previous hikes in Salkantay Pass and in Humantay Lake, the appetite for huge meal is not there after a big hike. Unless, given an appropriate time to rest before eating, that would be a different scenario.
Guide (Bernie) and all of his support team were absolutely incredible. It was a once in a life time experience I will never forget. Would highly recommend to anyone who is comfortable hiking at high altitudes and technical climbing.
We had an exceptional experience with Alpaca Expeditions. We did not have a standard itinerary and required collection in the Sacred Valley. We also stayed an additional night in Aquas Calientes to enjoy the cloud forest. We also booked some of our transfers with AE. AE replied to all my emails and attended to every request. On arrival in Cusco the transfer they arranged was seamless. We attended the briefing at 6PM on the day of our arrival. We were given our duffle bags and then the taxi took us to the Sacred Valley where we stayed for 4 nights. The day prior to our hike we had our first introduction to our guide Lucio when he called us and confirmed all the details. We appreciated the call. The next morning we were collected at the hotel at 5AM and travelled to Ollantaytambo in a modern and clean minibus. We had the opportunity to get to know Lucio on the train from Ollantaytambo to 104km. We immediately liked Lucio since it was clear that he is very knowledgeable and responsible. He also spoke excellent English. We got off the train at 104km and was provided with a snack and had the opportunity to visit the facilities. Lucio then gave us a detailed explanation of what we are about to experience. This was a forest hike and we saw many orchids and beautiful views. We were a group of 11 hikers and had a friendly second guide. The hike included many uphill sections with the Inka steps and the pace was energetic. Winay Wayna was stunning and we enjoyed the incredible views! We hiked on 12 September and it was sunny but not too hot. We had a lunch which included soup followed by various dishes such as chicken & veg, beef & peppers, fried trout, salad, vegetables, potatoes, juice and delicious avocadoes. Great. We used the 'bathroom' and were on our way again. The hike got even more beautiful. We started hiking a 7AM and reached the Sun Gate at 15:00. We had people aged 30 to 60 in our group and everyone will agree it was a challenging hike - but it was 100% enjoyable. We took some pics at Machu Picchu before it started raining. Following a stunning bus ride we reached Aquas Calientes and checked into a modern hotel (Alpaca Terra). Dinner was included in the tour and we could order starters and mains. Happy. The next morning we had breakfast at 5:30AM. We arrived at Machu Picchu early and Lucio gave us the most wonderful tour. It was a beautiful day and I felt grateful that we have a guide who can share his extensive knowledge with us in such a respectful manner. Lucio knows how to optimize the route. He took care of every single person on the tour! Back in Aquas Calientes we said farewell to Lucio after collecting our duffle bags and checked into the Inkaterra hotel. The next day we disembarked on the Vistadome train at 14:30. It was a luxury experience and we enjoyed the flutist and the views. When we finally arrived in Cusco that evening we were a bit anxious since our hotel was located in San Blas and it was not easy to reach it with a van. We felt huge relief and delight when we noticed our friend Lucio was waiting at the AE storage facility for us. We jumped into the taxi he arranged and when we reached the hotel he even helped us with our luggage. Lucio assisted us on his day off! Lucio and AE really took care of us and demonstrated excellent customer service. I will not hesitate to recommend this company and this hike to my friend, family and the Tripadvisor community.
We did the 2-day Inca Trail with the Sacred Valley add-on through Alpaca Expeditions, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. **Sacred Valley** The Sacred Valley was a nice addition and I'd recommend it. We started with an alpaca farm tour, where feeding the alpacas was adorable. There's an opportunity to buy products, which are expensive but high quality, and the money benefits the farm. We also toured historical architecture throughout the valley, learned about its history, and took in incredible vistas, including Ollantaytambo, the oldest continuously working Inca site. Another benefit of staying in the Sacred Valley was that we didn't have to make the whole trip from Cusco on the morning of our hike. **Inca Trail** The Inca Trail itself was amazing. We took a scenic train, and while we expected to get off at a station, you actually get dropped in the middle of the woods. If you're doing the short trail, you really don't need much stuff. A light raincoat is essential, though we warmed up fast. I recommend a light pack with just your passport, raincoat, toilet paper or wipes, a couple of snacks, water, sunglasses, and a hat. The first half of the trail was tough, with what felt like a never-ending set of staircases. But stopping at Winay Wayna and taking in the views made me forget all the huffing and puffing. Lunch was incredible, and we couldn't believe they made so much food on top of a mountain. They first served an amazing quinoa soup with garlic bread, and we felt satisfied and happy. Then they brought out a massive array of dishes, including a mango ceviche, guacamole and chips, and chicken and fish dishes. We were so stuffed, but revived enough to tackle the second half of the trail. There are restrooms at the start of the trail, near Winay Wayna, and at Machu Picchu, but bring your own toilet paper or wipes. The second half of the trail was far more manageable, with rolling terrain. There's a steep section of stairs right before the Sun Gate, but once you pass it you're rewarded with your first view of Machu Picchu, which was breathtaking, especially with the shifting clouds. We were able to go down to the site and take photos that same day. From the start of the trail to when we left Machu Picchu took around 8 hours. We chose to stay in a hotel instead of camping, and it was worth it because it poured rain that day. Our hotel was very luxurious and had piping hot showers, the perfect respite after a long day of hiking. The team of guides, chefs, and porters was amazing. Our guide Reynaldo was incredibly patient with us and told us so many stories about the history of the area and its importance. I'll never forget them, and it was amazing to see how proud he was to share his heritage with us. We also loved Denesse, our second guide. She was so sweet and fun, and she works really hard as part of an initiative to get more women involved as guides. And our chef Urbano made such incredible meals, especially the lunch on the trail. **Huayna Picchu** On our second day, we toured Machu Picchu. We did Circuit 3, where we learned about the importance of Machu Picchu in the Incan empire, the purpose of different buildings, and stories about hidden treasure and war. We chose this circuit because we also planned to hike Huayna Picchu. It was intimidating to see the mountain towering above, and the rain made it much more slippery, but the cloud cover helped us not see the steep drop-offs. It was absolutely worth it, and the views were incredible. I kept comparing them to Avatar. There's a steel cable to hold onto for much of the trail, and the hike isn't too physically challenging. It's 1 mile and 1,000 feet up, and you can stop to take breaks and let people pass. **Final thoughts** The only issue we had was some miscommunication during the briefing and from the guides because of our Sacred Valley addition. We got conflicting information from different people within the company. It eventually got sorted out, but it would have been helpful to have this be more streamlined. I'd recommend this combination for people who want more of an adventure but don't want to do the full 4-day Inca Trail or the Salkantay route. Would highly recommend Alpaca Expeditions!
Sabi and Ingrid were extremely helpful and kind, and funny!! Had a great time, they were the best!
If you want to see the most colorful mountains in Peru, you need to sign up for this trip. They suggest you get used to the altitude because you'll be very high up. It's also cold and windy, so dress warmly. But so worth the experience.
This was a fantastic tour! The hike to the Sungate was amazing, with so much variety in the scenery including some incredible Inca ruins. A real plus of this tour is seeing Matchu Pitchu in the afternoon after the hike and then again the next morning. Reynaldo was a great guide who was well informed about the Inca Empire as well as plants along the trek. Highly recommend.
We heard Alpaca was very good and they were! No issues at all. They are as advertised!
We had a wonderful time on this tour. Lucio and Abraham were exceptional guides—friendly, attentive, and extremely helpful. Lucio's clear communication, steady pacing during the hike, and informative presentations made the experience both smooth and educational. Abraham took creative video/shot for us at the spot that we shared with our family. The lunch that cooked on site was a wonderful bonus. I highly recommend booking this tour!
Alpaca expeditions did a great job. Lucio and Ingri were great guides. The hike was very well paced and the accommodation was great as well.
Excellent tour operator. Everything well organized. Our guide was excellent. Our guide set a good pace (I've had other tours where the guide set a painfully slow pace). The hotel was excellent. The vista dome car was worth it for the great views. Machu Picchu ruins don't compare to Roman, Greek, Ethiopian or Egyptian ruins, but they're probably the best in South America.
We did the 2-Day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu via the Sun Gate with guides Lucio and Denise, and it was the highlight of our trip to Peru. First, the practical advice: come prepared for rain. The forecasts were unreliable the entire time we were there. It rained on us both days, including a downpour halfway through our Machu Picchu tour on a day that was supposed to be clear. Good rain gear turns a soggy day into a memorable one, so pack accordingly and don't bother obsessing over the forecast. Now the trip itself. These are two long days packed with adventure, starting with an early morning bus ride followed by a train. The logistics of getting to the trailhead are genuinely complex, and having Lucio and Denise as our interface through all of it was worth the price of admission on its own — we never had to wonder what came next or worry about missing a connection. On the trail, they set a pace that was comfortable for the whole group while sharing a steady stream of genuinely interesting context about the geography, history, and culture. Lunch deserves its own paragraph. Urbano and his team prepared a delicious spread of local cuisine — far more variety than I expected from a crew that had to carry every bit of it up the mountain and cook it there. Fueled up, we continued to Wiñay Wayna, the agricultural terraces that once supported Machu Picchu and a great introduction to the area. We had the sprawling ruins nearly to ourselves — one other group and a pack of llamas. The rain stayed with us through the afternoon right up until we walked through the Sun Gate and Machu Picchu opened up below us. We stopped, pulled out our sunglasses, and put on sunscreen. That approach is absolutely worth the trek. Crowds were light when we arrived at the site and we came away with wonderful views and photos. Back in Aguas Calientes, the hotel was perfect — a dedicated Alpaca Expeditions property with a hot shower (with an actual shower door) and a comfortable bed, though after that day I'd have slept on a rock. The next morning we headed back up. The group split by preferred language inside the site, which made it much easier to see and hear. Lucio is deeply knowledgeable and gave us real historical perspective — I came away understanding the world Machu Picchu existed in, not just the stones. After the bus down, we dried off and changed at the hotel (great to have access to our bags while they stayed watched over in the lobby), explored the shops and markets, and had a celebratory lunch with our guides before heading back to Cusco, where our large luggage was waiting and we were dropped off at our hotel door. The team at AE are logistics experts. Communication was excellent from booking through our final goodbye, next steps were always clearly explained, and everything was in order. They constantly went above and beyond — including framing perfect shots and taking them on our phones, with no upsell on a photo package afterward. Highly recommended.
We did Km104 2D/1N hike with Alpaca Expeditions. There was a small amount of controversy surrounding them recently but our tickets were booked and I didn't want to change. No need to worry at all. The experience was amazing. Everything down to the small details was a well oiled machine - we dropped by Cusco after we landed, paid our balance, and received duffel bags. We were called the night before via Whatsapp and all questions answered. We met our group at Ollantaytambo train station and boarded the train and had the rest of our luggage sent back to Cusco. The train made it very clear when we were to get off and we met the rest of our guides at the start of Km104. We received snacks and began. Our guide stopped a few times to let us explore the first ruin and showed us some unique plants along the way. He was extremely attentive to the group's needs for any breaks and leisurely. Getting up to Winay Waya had a few slightly challenging steps along the way (only due to the number of steps) but otherwise all inclines/declines were fine. Lunch was incredible and the lunch stop restrooms were cleaner than Km104, but some people may not be accustomed to squat toilets (like in Asia). After lunch, one of the other guides took over and she was an absolute beast and had us on a quick march. The most challenging part was right before the sun gate (the gringo killer stairs) but the payoff was well worth it. Descending to MP after our day's hike made it even more magical. Afterwards, we had a good dinner and went to bed. The next day, we got to explore the circuit that has us walking around the citadel, and a few of us split off to do Wayna Picchu. One guide did accompany us and kicked our butts because she was so damn fit. The climb was way harder than the previous day on the Inca trail. The view at the top was simply incredible. Overall I could not imagine another company running as smoothly as this. Some things stood out to me in particular: We had 1 male guide and 2 women! We saw several other 'green machine' groups with women guides as well. I was happy to see that AE had tshirts saying they were empowering women. I never felt like the women guides were talked down to or lesser than the male guides. In fact, I'm pretty sure our woman guide skipped the bus down from MP to Aguas Calientes and ran down, because she said "No bus for me" and then beat us to Aguas Calientes. Other guides on the trail commented that AE pays for all their gear and makes sure they are well equipped. They all seemed very happy. They do one hike a week. Lastly, our guide made it extremely clear that certain portions of MP were sacred and we could not even leave offerings or cross the rope. As he was saying this, we witnessed another company (not AE) allowing and encouraging their visitors to leave coco leaf offerings and crossing the boundaries. Yikes. I'm happy AE takes the sanctity and rules of MP seriously. This tour was 100% worth it. I am so pleased to have gone with them and left with a lifetime memory! Shout out to Lucio, Ingrid, and one other guide whose name I forgot I'm so sorry.
We loved our experience on the Inca trail. Sabi and Renaldo were our guides. They made our experience so special!! Everything was perfect and organized so well. Thank you thank you!!
This trip was amazing! Truly the best way to experience such a major bucket list experience as Machu Pichu. Our guide, Luz, was terrific. She shared so much knowledge of local plants, history, and traditions that you just can't get from less local guides and expedition companies. The mid-trail lunch was exceptional, even more so considering the logistics involved. Everything was planned out to the last detail by Alpaca and Luz did a wonderful job keeping everything organized and keeping us informed of what the trip would entail. This was the trip of a lifetime, and we couldn't have done it without Alpaca and our guide.
We had the best experience. Our guide, Luz, simply amazing. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and encouraging. We felt safe and taken care of the entire trip and had no problems with pickup or transfers. Everything was clearly communicated. I had a great trip and would absolutely book with Alpaca and especially Luz again.
Excellent handling of the tour! Probably one of the best companies and guides I have been with for a tour. Superb service. I liked that they didn’t rushed us and made sure we finish the tour in our pace. Also, they allowed us to take as much picture as we wanted. Most companies/guides don’t take pictures for the tourist but Alpaca Expedition does. Good food!!! I felt taken care of very well. I enjoyed the tour a lot! Highly would recommend to others. Thank you to my guides, Reynaldo 1 and 2!
Wonderful guide! Beautiful experience. Highly recommend!
I had such an amazing experience. Our tour guides Reynoldo 1 and 2 were experienced, professional, and fun. The whole trip was well planned out and I would highly recommend Alpaca Expeditions to anyone looking to visit Machu Picchu.
Can’t recommend this tour enough! Everything was taken care of, so all you had to do was sit back and enjoy the experience. The guides spoke perfect English and were very knowledgeable. The lunch was amazing, as were the luxurious hotel and dinner. The next day, we also had an amazing two-hour guided tour of Machu Picchu. If you want to visit Machu Picchu, just book this tour and know that everything will be taken care of from start to finish. Thank you Lucio and Abran for making our experience truly unforgettable ❤️
The short 2 day Inca Trail is a definite highlight if you want to see Machu Picchu. You don't need to be marathon fit to complete this, but do make sure that you are acclimated to the altitude before you go. Sunscreen, lots of water and bug spray is a must! Patience, endurance and a positive attitude will get you to the top! Appreciate your guides and porters, they are well trained and very accommodating. Without them, it will be way tougher.
This was awesome. The guides, (Victor-Denise) were incredible. Lunch was over the top great and the dinner had several options to choose from. We saw several more ruins that you don't get to see with only a Machu Pichu tour. Plus we still toured Machu Pichu, twice. Do the Huayna Pichu add on hike. Well worth the money and time
Firstly, we did the 10 day/9 night package that included Macchu Picchu 2 day Inca trail, Rainbow Mountain, and the Amazon. And wow. We don't normally go through agencies to plan our trips, but our experience with Alpaca has us reconsidering. They were so organized, friendly, and helpful. We adored our guides, the food, the accommodations, and the sights. What we loved: the groups are small, the guides are locals of the areas you're exploring so they have a lot of passion for sharing their knowledge and history of the areas, and their chefs! Díos mío the food!! So good! We were traveling with our 10yo and every guide made sure to keep him included and engaged. Shout out to our guides Santi, Nilton, Marleny (bless this woman!!) and Elix. If you can request them, do!
Highly recommend Alpca Expeditions if you’re planning to go to Machu Picchu. Our guides, Javier and Yadira, made the experience very enjoyable for us. They spoke English very well, took care of all the administration and logistics, and had a lot of interesting knowledge to share. They really did a lot to make sure we enjoyed the experience, and had loads of pictures to remember the experience. Genuinely cannot say anything negative about our experience.
Elix was thorough in preparing us for the trek. He was detailed , English communication was superb and he combined humor with his detailed Inca stories. He was encouraging during the hike when the hike became more difficult. I would highly recommend Elix as guide and alpaca expeditions as a company.
Fantastic experience on the 2 day Inca Trail hike with Elix with Alpaca Expeditions who was an incredible tour guide! Highly recommend this!
Had an awesome experience with Elix B. He was the best guide. So knowledgeable and kind to everyone in the group! Thanks a lot!
My experience with Alpaca Expeditions has entirely exceeded expectations. The hiking alone was some of the most incredible sites and beauty that I have experienced. The guides (Fletcher and José) are phenomenal. They had so much knowledge of the Inca history, sites and culture, giving you a very hands-on history and archeology lesson. I left feeling I got to see all I came to, but also left wanting to see and do more. The entire trip is so well coordinated and organized - all you need to do is show and enjoy. The food, the porters, and all of the Alpaca Expeditions team really take the extra steps to make your experience flawless. (Shout out to the chefs for the amazing meals!). I really cannot recommend Peru, Cusco, and this Machu Pichu experience enough. Alpaca Expeditions has endured only the best in class group tour - it’s an easy yes once I come back to Peru!
Alpaca Expeditions was a wonderful group to book an experience for Machu Picchu. Our guides were Fletcher and Jose, who did an outstanding job of not only guiding the way and making sure the trip went without a hitch, but they are very knowledgeable in the history of the Inka. Always helps that they have great personalities! If you enjoy a good hike, but don’t want to camp, this is the tour I would recommend!
My wife and I were very lucky to have Luzmarina Cacere as our guide. She is so helpful and professional in every aspect. She is very nice and patient. She picked us in Urubamba early morning, took care of all our luggage, guided us through the trail and all circuits. She assisted us with hotels and restaurants. We will certainly choose her as our guide again. Xiuhong, Guanghui
Luz Marina Carere was our tour guide. She provided awesome helps in every aspects of the great tours.
I Ping Chen and my wife Xiang Yao joined this tour with other 6 friends.Luzmarina Cacere is our tour guide. She picked up us before 5:00 am. She stay with us the whole trip. She gave us lectures about the history and helped us for the transportation.
Luzmarina Cacere is the greatest guides we ever had. She was knowledgeable and a great communicator. She arranged for our transportation of all the luggages picking up from Airbnb. This is a big surprise for us and saved us a great deal both in logistics and financial. My wife and myself enjoyed the conversation with her. We highly recommend the trip.
We had an amazing time on our hiking trip! Our tour guides Sabino and Jimy were better than we could’ve hoped. We were lucky enough to have a cook who made us an amazing lunch on our hike and then an amazing dinner and breakfast at our campsite. The porters helped to carry a duffle bag with some of our things along with food for the chef to prepare for us. I would recommend booking with Alpaca Expeditions to everyone!!!
This was an incredible experience. Guides: 10/10 Sabino and Jimy were amazing, informative, and knowledgeable about the sites. They were extremely friendly and shared some of their culture with us. This is a difficult hike for beginners, yet they did not rush us at all. Food: 10/10 All provided food was amazing. We had a wide variety of foods that were all incredible. Porters: 10/10 All items were delivered as expected and the camp site was prepared for us by the time we arrived. Tents and sleeping bags were clean. Drivers: 10/10 Drivers were on time and we arrived to our destination safely. Logistics: 10/10 We had many bus tickets and train tickets that were purchased for us. All worked as expected.
Had a blast on this trip! The views were amazing and the weather worked out great! Jimy, Sabino, the chefs, and porters were fantastic. Their wealth of knowledge about Machu Picchu and Peruvian history overall was much appreciated!
We booked our 2 days short inca trail with camping with Alpaca tours. From.the very beginning they were great. Any questions we had were answered immediately. Their website itself is pretty detailed. But if we still had questions they had live support anytime. If they miss our call by any chance they always called back. The previous day of the trek we had a briefing where we met our guide Victor. He was simply amazing. He answered all out questions. Helped us through everything. From pick up to the hike to the camping all the way till our return from machu pichu. the guides Victor and Vanessa was there every throughout. Eveb whn we had some difficulties they were extremely understanding and supportive. And the food was really amazing. Freshly made hot food each time. I would recommend alpaca travels to anyone going to machu pichu. The hike was moderately difficult but they made it as comfortable as possible. And again thanks to Victor and Vanessa
Me and my wife did 2 days inca trail on September 1st and 2nd. I would say it was the trip of a life time. I don't have words to express it. Alpaca did a great job from beginning to end. Especially our guides Victor and Vanessa, i would say we're blessed to have such a kind and knowledgeable guides thorough out our journey. The trail is breathtaking but definitely has its demanding stretches, especially the steep stone steps up to Wiñay Wayna. Our guides paced us perfectly, always attentive to our breathing and comfort, and knew exactly when to take a water break or share an inspiring story about Inca history and Andean flora. Their deep passion for Quechua heritage brought every ruin and terrace to life. Beyond their vast knowledge, it was their genuine kindness and constant support that truly stood out. If you are planning to hike the Short Inca Trail, having guides like ours transforms a tough hike into a seamless, unforgettable journey. I cannot recommend them highly enough! Victor and Vanessa are the best !!!!!!!!!❤️❤️
Amazing! Everyone who works at Alpaca Expeditions is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. This is the most customer friendly company I’ve ever worked with between how you can tell how much care they put into their itineraries plus how responsive and helpful their customer service is. Cannot recommend enough!!!
This trip made our entire experience. Frank the tank was accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful the entire way. Not only did he spend plenty of time sharing the history of the Inca's, but ensured that every member of our group had great pictures and felt included. Most notably he accounted for slower members of the group by trailing several meters behind the last members to not rush us whatsoever. Amazing experience all thanks to Frank. MACCHU pichu is a spectacle of itself.
Always wanted to experience Machu Picchu, so glad I did! Reynaldo and Wilber were experienced and friendly guides, obviously not their first trip, and the group of people we trekked with were all considerate and there for a friendly experience. Shout out to the porters too, who hauled us up a five-star lunch in a tent under the shade. Would book again with Alpaca Expeditions easily!
Just finished an amazing 2D/1N short Inca trail trek with Alpaca Expeditions. Reynaldo and Wilbor were absolutely amazing guides throughout the trail and in Machu Picchu the next morning. They were so patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable. I’m also so impressed by the amazing porters and chefs who transported and prepared our delicious lunch up on the trail. This was an unforgettable experience and Alpaca Expeditions made it so easy at every step.
