We just returned from a wonderful two-day Machu Picchu tour booked with Machu Picchu Tours-Travel Company. I had wanted a tour that was different from what I could find offered through other companies but John at Machu Picchu Tours set up exactly what I wanted. The logistics of a trip like this are complicated and even though I was a travel agent for 30 years I would never try to put all the parts together myself. This is where a local agency is a necessity. Not only did everything run smoothly but we had the most enjoyable time. Our personal guide Darcy, was the most excellent person to show us the wonders of Machu Picchu. He was patient and helpful in my navigation of the many steps, letting us rest whenever we needed. I can’t begin to say how happy I am with the service that Macchu Picchu provided. We were impacted by the train crash and our itinerary had to change. They took care of all the changes, ticket updates, standing in line for information and then getting us on the first train out the next day. The train was still delayed for 4 hours and the station was as chaos. John ran around all morning keeping on top of everything. A stressful situation, but having John taking care of everything was so lucky. We relaxed and left it in his hands. When our family wit teenagers finally made it, The Macchu Picchu tour was conducted by Charly. He was a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable and passionate about MP. He had so much pride in what the Inca built and he immersed us in the stories. He didn’t rush us and we really got to experience the wonder of Macchu Picchu. I will recommend them to anyone that asks. 1000/10

The visit to Machu Picchu itself was great! We had a wonderful guide and because another group canceled we had him all to ourselves! The coordination of travel was not great however, on our return to Cuzco we were not met by our guide to return us to our hotel. After waiting 15 minutes we ended up walking about 1.5 miles to our hotel.

There is very very little flat walking, mostly steep getting to Machu Picchu once there walking easy except for the stair climbing. Make sure you under stand 24 hr time we did't and screwed-up but John bailed us out. Thank you thank you, John. Consider upgrading to the outdoor observation train, we did this after we screwed-up. It was well worth it.

I was a bit hesitant booking this because it was my first time going solo out the country. John made everything super simple and easy to understand. Everything is planned out carefully from bus tickets, train tickets, hotels and anything else you might need during your trip. I highly recommend john and his company to anyone who wants to step out of their comfort zone and explore this beautiful country.

We booked quite last minute and from the beginning we had great lines of communication via WhatsApp where I was updated on aspects of my tour leading up and had all my questions answered fully and quickly! They were able to secure us tickets on circuit 3. We were picked up from our bnb and driven to the train then had arrangements made for a tour guide in Machu Picchu. We had to worry about nothing as everything was set up and booked, we were given our documents the night prior as well as a phone call to discuss the tour and any questions. The guide at the citadel was excellent. Roily really knows about the Incas, hiking and camping, as well as all the history of Machu Picchu including architecture, crop experimentation, building techniques, and astronomy. We were slow and couldn’t climb a lot of steps but Roily took our picture at strategic locations and answered all our questions. Later Roily arranged our lunch and had a restaurant waitress meet our bus and walk us to the restaurant. He also suggested special tea and alpaca dishes. It was memorable.

Once booked, you don’t have to worry about anything - transportation, including buses and train rides are reserved for you, as well as the hotel and MP entry tickets. John is great at communicating and explaining the itinerary step by step. He’s also very quick at responding WhatsApp messages. Edson, the driver, is friendly and shares a lot of info about the cities along the way. His SUV is clean and comfortable. Our tour guide was Luis Alberto and he is extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. He answered every question, kept us engaged and took great photos! I highly recommend booking with them.

I arranged a 7 days vacation with John of Machu Pichu tours. It included hotels, airport transfers, excursions and some meals. Overall, had a good time. I was traveling alone with my 10 years old son. My tour guide Edwin and driver Edgar were punctually and very respectful. They took good care of my son in Cusco when he developed severe altitude sickness. I chose 3 star hotel options but they were very basic. John was very responsive and available all the time for any questions and concerns I had. I would definitely recommend his company for any family friendly travels.

A lifetime experience that did not disappoint. We did a private tour with Bernabe. We were picked up at the airport, and taken to the sacred valley. The ruins, the scenery, the history, the shopping, the food was all amazing. Day two, we went to Machu Picchu. I was so glad we used this tour group; we are very satisfied from everything.

We had a great time on our tour. I spent time with John beforehand planning what it is was we wanted to see. Our tour guide Jose was awesome as well as our driver Allen. We are experienced travelers, but feel that navigating Machu Picchu and the surrounding areas would have been really hard to do logistically on our own. Lots of buses, trains, travel to get to specific points. Rainbow Mountain was the highlight for me. I regret not making it to the top top of the viewing area, but it was awesome. The elevation is a real factor. Do your planning beforehand. I would highly recommend John and his guys.

John planned a wonderful trip for my cousin and I in Peru. We perused Lima, Cusco, Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu town. Our guide Carolina showed us some wonderful aspects of Lima. Raul guided us through the rest of trip showing us the rich culture and history of the Inca. Machu Picchu has inspiring views and was easy physically. Rainbow Mountain was physically challenging and incredibly beautiful to visit. I highly recommend using Machu Picchu tours and can’t say enough good things about our guide Raul.

We booked our annual gal trip of 4, with Machu Picchu Tours. John Taqquere Villanueva planned the trip around our desires. As we arrived in Lima, John was there to meet us. We toured Lima with Alexandra as our guide and Jose as our driver, their hospitality was the finest. Alex shared the history of Lima extremely well and we visited many popular places. On to Cuzco. Our guide was Rolando and we can't say enough about his knowledge of the history of the Peruvians. We toured Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain, and many many more attractions. Our driver was Richard and we must say he is a professional driver. Our hotels were very nice and so accommodating, the staff were very kind and professional at all times. We did this two day trip and was perfect. We never felt rushed and could immerse in the vibes of the bustling Machu Picchu town and visit the museum and hot springs there.
