Inca trail to Machu Pichu was on our bucket list for a long time, and TreXperience made this happen for us. Javier was our tour guide and he was such a genuine person who cared for the entire group every step of the way. He patiently explained every step of the process, setup a WhatsApp group for the trek team, coordinated pickups and transfers, managed food preferences, strong focus on safety and comfort for the group. His knowledge about the Inca culture and passion to explain the history was next to impeccable. End of the 2 day trail the entire group bonded so well that it felt like we’ve known each other for a longtime, and we give the credit to Javier to bring us all together for the most memorable experience of our life time. Highly recommended tour company and Javier as the tour guide, absolutely loved it.

Itinerary
Day 1
1
Your adventure starts early with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in Cusco around 4:00 a.m. (or 5:30 a.m. if you’re staying closer to Ollantaytambo). At Ollantaytambo train station we will board the train and travel along the Urubamba River, passing picturesque valleys and mountain landscapes.
After about 1.5 hours, we’ll arrive at Km 104, where the adventure begins. First, we’ll check in at the trailhead with your passport, then enjoy a delicious picnic breakfast prepared by our talented chefs.
After breakfast, the trek starts with a visit to Chachabamba, a well-preserved Inca site featuring ceremonial structures and water channels. Continue on an uphill path surrounded by lush cloud forest, listening to the sounds of birds and passing waterfalls along the way.
Our trek begins with a gradual 4-hour uphill hike along ancient Inca trails. The journey takes us to Wiñay Wayna, one of the most stunning Inca sites, meaning “forever young.” This hidden gem offers incredible views of the Andes and a rich history. After exploring, you’ll enjoy a fresh lunch prepared by our expert trekking chefs, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, before we continue hiking.
After lunch, we’ll hike towards the famous Sun Gate or Intipunku, where you’ll catch your first magical glimpse of Machu Picchu. This is one of the most unforgettable moments, especially in the afternoon when the site is less crowded. The view from the Sun Gate offers a stunning panorama of the Machu Picchu citadel, giving you the perfect opportunity for those once-in-a-lifetime photos.
Walk down to Machu Picchu and follow Circuit 1, visiting its most iconic viewpoints. By this time, the crowds will have thinned, giving you a chance to soak in the peaceful atmosphere and capture amazing photos in the soft afternoon light.
Descend by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you'll savor a delicious dinner at a local restaurant. Then unwind for the night in a cozy 3-star hotel featuring private bathrooms.
Day 2
2
Start your day early with the excitement of visiting Machu Picchu – the famous Lost City of the Incas. After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we’ll head out to catch the first buses to Machu Picchu, making sure you arrive just as the day begins.
If the weather is clear, you’ll have the chance to witness a breathtaking sunrise over Machu Picchu, a truly unforgettable experience. Your guide will take you on a 2 to 3-hour tour, showing you the most incredible temples, palaces and terraces while sharing fascinating stories about the city’s history. After the tour, you’ll have free time to explore on your own or choose an additional hike up Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Montaña (don’t forget to book your tickets in advance!). When you're ready, take the bus back to Aguas Calientes for lunch before boarding your train.
Relax and enjoy the incredible views as you ride the Vistadome Panoramic train back to Cusco. The large windows offer stunning sights of the Sacred Valley, allowing you to soak in the scenery as you unwind from your adventure.
The TreXperience team will be waiting for you at the Ollantaytambo train station and will safely escort you back to your hotel.
Your amazing journey concludes with a drop-off at your hotel in Cusco around 7:30 p.m., giving you the evening to relax after an incredible adventure.

Trexeperience gave us an unforgettable trip! Our guides, Marco and Fernando were very knowledgeable about the Inkas and Andean mountains. They made us feel safe and had great humor! Our porters and Chef Julio were the true heros! They made our camp comfortable and the food was some of the best we had during our entire time in Peru!! I would highly recommend this company- first class people all the way!
Amazing journey all around. Everything was handled perfectly and you could tell there was a great eye to detail all around. Huge shoutout to our tour guide, Anthony. The food was great too, shoutout to Darwin and Cinche.
We had a good time, especially enjoyed our guide Rene who is very knowledgeable on history and culture. We learned a lot from him, besides viewing the beautiful scenery Highly recommended!
We had a great experience! Monica was an exceptional tour guide, very knowledgeable and experienced. One of our group members wasn’t feeling well, and Monica went above and beyond to make sure he was taken care of and connected him with local doctors. She explained every step of the experience in detail and made everything smooth and seamless! Would definitely recommend.
Monica provided an excellent experience for the group. She had an authentic, yet still professional way of approaching the guided tour. It felt private with the group, while it had moments of openness to interact with other travelers! Overall, I just want to thank Monica for the amazing guide <3
The hike on day 1 from km104 was challenging but a great experience. It’s a very early start, especially if you are in Cusco, we started a few hours later at 5:30am from Ollantaytambo. After arriving at the sun gate on day 1 we did circuit 1. We returned the following day and did circuit 3. Wilian our tour guide was excellent. The negatives are that it was an expensive tour and also the tour provided hotel and food in Aguas Calientes was basic and poor.
Incredible experience! Hotel pick up was prompt & communication was great. Head guide, Leo, had a wealth of knowledge & organized everything perfectly. You can tell that Leo truly cared about passing on the stories of the Incas and Quechua people. Evans, assistant guide, was not only a great guide but an incredible person. We were in a larger group (14) and were able to split between the faster and slower groups. Breakfast and lunch were both delicious (they were able to accommodate vegan and gluten-free diets). Hotel selected (in Aguas Caliente) was the lone disappointment. We had a leaky toilet & other guests needed to switch rooms. Overall, the entire experience was 11/10. Machu Picchu was a bucket list item and Trexperience made our dreams a reality. Special thank you to Leo, Evans and all of the people behind the scenes to make our trip one that will stay with us for a lifetime.
Unforgettable experience! The scenary along the trail was breathtaking, and catching the first glimpse of Machupichu through the Sungate was a moment that I will never forget. Huge shout out to Romario, our guide he was fantastic! He kept a great pace, always making sure we were comfortable and safe. Romario made this experience extra special. I Highly recommend TreXperience for anyone looking to experience the magic of Andes.
We had a wonderful experience with our tour guide, Katia! She was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and caring throughout the entire tour. She explained everything in detail, answered all our questions, helped us with the arrangements, took great photos for us, and really went the extra mile to make our experience smooth and memorable. As a group of girls, we also really appreciated having a female guide. It made the experience feel even more comfortable and personal. We truly enjoyed our time with Katia and would highly recommend anyone visiting Machu Picchu!
This is truly an amazing experience. The cost is very reasonable, especially when you add up the van transport, the train, the hotel, the food, and the Machu Picchu ticket. Javi was the best guide I could ask for, he was knowledgeable, fun, and accommodating. Just the right mix of teaching us about Peru and Inca history and just hanging out with us. The food was amazing, the hotel and train were very nice. When our train home was delayed, the van driver stayed on call and drove us back to Cusco at 11 PM! Machu Picchu speaks for itself. Truly an unforgettable experience thanks to the Trexperience team.
We had an incredible experience with Romario and Rony as our guides. They were enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and paced the hike really well for all levels. They also offered to take lots of photos. The food included was great quality and the hotels were comfortable. It was really nice to also have the opportunity to see Machu Picchu twice! Everything was taken care of for us including train, bus, hotels, meals, and entry tickets. Would highly recommend this tour!
The entire experience was once in a lifetime. Staff was great and the guides were fantastic. I am 75 and I fell behind the group but one of the two guides were always with me. Helping me to finish. Thanks to my guides I lived my dream. Thanks Mr. G and Alejandro!!! You were great.
Trip of a lifetime, but that had everything to do with our amazing guide. I was very nervous about joining this trip solo, but Alex immediately made us all feel like “familia” and we bonded so quickly. He taught us SO much about Incan history and culture, beyond what you would ever see simply visiting Machu Picchu on your own. It is very clear how passionate he is about sharing his culture with the world and how much he loves his country (especially the mountains.) He, and all of the other people who work for TreXperience, made us feel so cared for and looked after. Having gone on two other excursions since, I can tell you this company is better than the rest.
It's hard to put into words how amazing this experience was. Alex and Ade were TOP NOTCH professionals that became kind friends along the journey. The specific details that are included from stops, to meals, to the tour guides going above and beyond, it is worth the investment in this TreXperience. You will never regret it. Just ask for Ade and Alex!!!
I really loved this tour, the trail was so beautiful and hearing about the history of Machu Picchu from our guide Romario was very interesting. I also decided to do the optional Wayna Picchu hike and would recommend it to anyone (of reasonable fitness). It‘s well worth the effort and you‘ll be rewarded with an amazing view of Machu Picchu from the top of the mountain.
My experience with Trexperience was amazing! Everything was well organised. Julio, our guide, took very well care of the group and has a lot of information over de Inca’s and a good sense of humor! Balvino the chef prepared delicious food and together with the team of porters they made sure everything was taken care of! Would defenitively recommend booking with this organisation!
We absolutely loved our experience! Cesar and Danny were excellent throughout the tour. Totally recommend!
I had an absolutely wonderful time with my tour guides and our group! We started the day off with an amazing breakfast that started off our hike so well. And even though it rained, our guides Alex and Ade were so positive that it made the rain not a problem at all! They took breaks whenever we needed and checked up on us throughout the hike to make sure we were good. They were very informative about the history of Machu Picchu and Alex gave us very important details on our way and at Machu Picchu while Ade did as well and also spoke in Spanish to a few of the people in our group that couldn’t understand English very well. I was so grateful for their knowledge and their positive attitudes during our time together. They brought our whole group together so well, and I can’t imagine the trip without them!
This was an unforgettable family trip on the two day Inca Trail tour. TreXperience was a great company to work with for us, as they were responsive and organized. Our guide Alex and Ade were fantastic! Alex was extremely knowledgeable about Inca culture and history, and he took care of all the details of the trip. Ade was very positive and encouraging all along the trip. They were both also very good with our teenage children. We would definitely recommend this tour as a great way to experience Machu Picchu!
I (28) and my brother (30) went on the two day Inca Trail tour with camping. It was perfection and the highlight of our Peru trip. I was going back and forth with a few companies but I’m so glad I went with TreXperience, it was only 7 of us in our group so everyone felt taken care of the entire time. Our guide, David, did an incredible job, helped us all take breaks when we needed, told us the history, and had a great attitude the whole time. And the food was amazing throughout. Highly recommend. They handled everything including all entrances and bus and train and just every ticket so it felt super taken care of.
Highly recommend this trail. A little bit challenging but really quite 'doable' with even moderate fitness level. The guide makes sure there is a good (sensible) walking pace with plenty of breaks. So the slower walkers don't feel under pressure. The food which is prepared along the trail was really amazingly high quality, it really was restaurant standard. Trout in creamy sauce; avocado salads; traditional style chicken dishes, rice, fresh banana bread and beautiful fresh fruit. Also plenty of clean (boiled) water available at each stop. All the walkers kept well for the trip, no upset tummies. The groups are small and people are from all over the world but everyone got along very well. We still keep in touch with people from the group. Most important 'til last... we did a few other small treks with trexperience on this trip and all the guides are great ! Romario led this 2 day walk, he is such a kind soul, he spoke about his life growing up in this area and the stories from his father and grandfather. He has really good knowledge of the environment and he chats away as we walked through jungles and forests. Romario stopped at one point, pulled some grasses and proceeded to show us how traditional ropes are made, in no time he has a strong 'rope' that no one in the group could break. As he makes the rope progressively bigger and stronger he explains what each size would be used for. All these small 'moments' add up over the 2 days and by the end you have a really good understanding of Inca life He's a good photographer and is happy to take snaps, he does pretty wild videos if you want, he calls himself the "human drone". History wise, all the guides are well trained and can speak about the areas they are guiding. Romario is no different, If you show particular interest in something, dont be surprised to receive some follow up info later. Romario is just one of those genuine, authentic people. The gentle and knowledgeable way he led this group was very special. We don't usually do group tours but I have absolutely no hesitation recommending this one.
The most magical experience! The best tour we have ever done - and we’ve done loads! Our guide Jose and his assistant Roberto were both fabulous - helpful, welcoming and so lovely. Also - we had to change our date due to chronic illness and the company were more than accommodating. Their communication was brilliant. We can not recommend TreXperience enough - if you’re looking for the perfect Machu Picchu experience, look no further!
We just returned from a fantastic 6 day Peru trip, planned by Trexperience. We were a group of 8 - a mix of family and friends. The itinerary was well planned and thorough, and the logistics were (airport transfers, train tickets, etc...) perfect. The real difference, though, was our guide, Rene'. He was tireless, and did everything from a Cusco city tour to the short Inca Trail. He was pleasant and knowledgable, and handled a variety of issues with skill and patience!
My friends and I did the 2-day short Inca Trail during our first ever visit to Peru, and it was quite an experience! Everything we needed was all set up for us, and our guide David was simply the best - he went above and beyond for our group! I would definitely recommend Trexperience to anyone looking to do this Inca Trail hike.
We had an incredible trip! The views and the sites along the hike were amazing, and the hike itself was not too strenuous. Our guides, Jose Abad and Roberto, were fantastic. They were very knowledgeable and took great care of the group. Highly recommend this tour!
Had an amazing time with my friend on this tour! The short Inca trail was the perfect difficultly for us and great for those who want just a small taste of the full hiking experience (and prefer a hotel over a tent). Everything was very well-organised and our guide, Jose Abad, was the best! So lovely, knowledgeable and efficient and was the best guide we’ve had in Peru. Thank you!
We had an amazing 2D/1N hike with Rene! He shared his vast knowledge of the Inca culture throughout our trip, and set a great pace, getting us to Machu Picchu with plenty of time to utilize our Circuit 1 ticket on day 1. We also really enjoyed the in-depth Circuit 3 visit on day 2. During our hike, we were very impressed with the seated/plated hot breakfast and lunch, whereas we saw other trekkers eating pre-made meals from paper bags or plastic tubs. The hotel was also very nice - definitely not a dive, but something we would have chosen ourselves. Everything was well organized with good, proactive communication from our booking in April, to planning details during the week leading up to our trek. Rene was a great guide on the trail and ensured that everything went smoothly during our overnight in Aguas Calientes.
Due to the rains/mudslides, our original 4-day Inca Trail hike we booked was unfortunately cancelled. Though there was some initial uncertainty/confusion, TreXperience gave us a choice of a longer 4-day hike and a 2-day hike. We ended up choosing the 2-day hike which provides the essence of the 4-day hike in 2 days. Our guide Rene Sarayasi was amazing, and had intimate knowledge of history and flora along the way, and let us take our own time since it was a private tour. The luxury breakfast and lunch and the Vistadome Observatory Train was also a great experience (kudos to the chef and staff who trekked with all the supplies along the trail). The office staff (we mostly dealt with Acdiel) was also very supportive in getting a refund due to the cheaper 2-day trail vs the original 4-day we had booked. Not to mention the weather was great, and we got a great view of the Machu Picchu site when we arrived at the Sun Gate!
We had a fantastic experience on this two-day, one night exploration of Machu Picchu. Our guide Wilian was amazing. We had a fair bit of rain on the hike up, but Wilian’s persistent enthusiasm, friendliness and expertise made it a really enjoyable experience. All of our travel was arranged well, the overnight accommodation provided a much needed hot shower and everything ran smoothly throughout. We would thoroughly recommend this trip. The one day hike was tough but rewarding, and made us feel that we’d earned the views at the top.
Excellent communication throughout I was very worried about the trek but the guides Wilian and Rosa were excellent very supportive and encouraging It was extremely challenging for me. The sights wonderful Every smooth The field cooked meals generous and delicious for vegetarian and carnivores The digs were clean and comfy a little noisy Train home a treat No issues
Pre-Trip the office answered all of our questions - However on the 3 day 2 day Machu Picchu hike the tour lacked organization and wasted a lot of time in lines and various uncommunicated info. Also everyone should know going with a guide gives you no actual help if you twist an ankle or have a medical issue on the trail The biggest problems were unclear meeting instructions, no written details and location pins, guides not always being at meeting points before guests, confusing train logistics in Aguas Calientes, and very poor handling of the 5 kg overnight bags. Receiving an unmarked duffle bag on a dark street, with no name tag and no clear system, created unnecessary stress and panic. Most importantly, guides should understand that repeating instructions patiently is part of the job. Guests are tired, in unfamiliar places and managing a lot of information. Clear written WhatsApp instructions would prevent much of that confusion. We can not recommend.
Monica our guide was fantastic and despite it raining all day, made the experience enjoyable and safe. Monica was also very helpful about making alternative arrangements for our teenage daughter who became unwell the night before and couldn’t do the trek. The office team were helpful in answering our questions promptly and fully during the booking process. Group sizes weren’t too large unlike other green coloured providers who seemed to have much larger groups. Highly recommended.
Brilliant time with all the team. Willian and Renee were awesome guides. The porters were amazing with brilliant food on the hill
The Inca trek was such an incredible adventure! Our guide Thony was so knowledgeable about the Incas - we learned so so much! He was so great spirited the whole hike, supportive and listened to us if we needed a break. He and our other guide, Roberto, made the experience so fun. Would do it again!
My daughter and I very much enjoyed our 2 days Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu tour. Our guide, Roger, was exceptional.
Juan was our guide and was a fantastic source of information and had a great personality. He kept the tour on time and always made sure to check in with us to make sure everything was going well. He was attentive to our needs and did a great job. I highly recommend him to take you through the Inca valley and get you to Maccu Piccu. There is no way wit would have gone as smoothly without his guidance v
We had an amazing two days with Alex, Balvin, Daniel, and the rest of the Trexperience team. Day 1 was the Inka Trail hike from KM 104 to the Sungate before descending into Machu Picchu Circuit 1 to see postcard worthy views. Day 2 was Circuit 2 and part of Circuit 3. Alex is an excellent leader, who established team camaraderie right away amongst our group while addressing each individual’s needs. As a result, we had so much fun together and the sense of team made us encourage each other along the way, especially in the tougher parts of the hike. Balvin was a quiet, steady presence at every step of the way. Daniel was always there to snap expert photos and movies of us. Chef Sinchi and his team, who were his family members, prepared the most delicious hot lunch of semolina soup, mango ceviche, chicken, beef, local Andean potatoes, chica morada, and more. You could taste the love in their food. I’m especially grateful for the responsiveness, high level of communication, and safety culture promoted from start to finish. Trexperience’s flexibility was top notch. They allowed us to add Day 2 on our own but still remain the bigger group. My husband was recovering from food poisoning and we weren’t sure he could make the hike, but Alex allowed us to make a “game time” decision the morning of the hike. We’re so grateful we got that choice because it was an unforgettable experience. I’ll be recommending you to any friends and family going to Machu Picchu. Thanks again!!
I had an excellent experience with TreXperience on the 2-day Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and would absolutely recommend them. From the beginning, everything was extremely well organized. Communication before the trek was clear, transportation and logistics ran smoothly, and I always knew what to expect next. With all of the trains, permits, luggage arrangements, hotel logistics, and timing involved, TreXperience made the entire experience very easy. Our primary guide, Alex, and assistant guide, Balvino, were fantastic throughout the trek. They kept everything moving at a comfortable pace, shared a lot of great information about the history and sites along the way, and gave us plenty of time to enjoy the scenery, take photos, and experience the trail without ever feeling rushed. The hike itself was one of the highlights of my entire trip to Peru. This was my first real hiking experience, and the route from KM 104 through Wiñay Wayna and into Machu Picchu was incredible. Arriving at the Sun Gate and seeing Machu Picchu for the first time after hiking there made the experience feel completely different from simply arriving by bus or train. One of the biggest surprises was the food. Our chef, Cinchi, did an amazing job. There was always plenty to eat, the meals were much better than I expected to have on a hiking trip, and from what I could see along the trail, I honestly felt like our group was eating better than groups traveling with some of the other companies. The quality and amount of food really stood out. The group size was also great, and the entire experience felt well paced and personal. The second day at Machu Picchu was a great complement to the hike and gave us the opportunity to explore the site in much more detail. What stood out most was how easy TreXperience made everything surrounding the actual hike. I was able to focus on enjoying the experience rather than worrying about transportation, tickets, timing, meals, or logistics. The Short Inca Trail ended up being one of my favorite experiences in Peru and may have even convinced me to do more hiking trips in the future. Huge thanks to Alex, Balvino, Cinchi, and the entire TreXperience team for making it such a memorable experience.
WOW! Best experience ever!! Our group was amazing and we made life long friends! Alex was the most perfect tour guide! He was so fun but so educational and made us always feel safe!! We made memories well be telling our future kids! Can’t recommend enough
Amazing experience! 100% would recommend. Alex the guide was 10/10
Great experience, everything was very punctual, maybe some advance information could have been given before the briefing, our guide Nilton was very friendly and professional and helped us in every situation
Excellent experience with our guide Sebastian, chef Basilio, assistant chef Porfiho and porter Leoncio. Sebastian gave us so much information along the trail and at Macchu Picchu.
We loved our trip to Machu Picchu with the two guides Thony and Roberto. To experience this World Wonder by walking on the original ancient path is absolutely worth the muscle ache on the next day. Before the trip we got a detailed briefing explaining everything that we needed to know and to pack. Furthermore, the pick-up and drop-off from our apartement went smoothly. After the train ride to km 104 and a nice breakfast we started the hike to Machu Picchu. As we were around 15 people we went with two guides which allowed everyone to walk at their own speed. The lunch provided was very tasty and even though it rained, the first view of Machu Picchu was spectacular. The tour through the site on the second day was super interesting. Our tour guide Thony enthusiastically explained everything from the history of the buildings to Inca Culture and Mythology - it was a very authentic insight in Perus indigenous history. In total, we are very happy that we went to Machu Picchu with Trexperience. Both guides were very experienced, friendly and funny.
During the dry season of Peru, torrential downpour joined us during our hike and honestly, it was an experience of a lifetime. Granted, it would have probably been amazing to see the rainforest as we hiked; but the rain provided a much different perspective for when we finally reached Machu Picchu. An absolute wonder of the world. Due to the massive amount of rain, the site wasn’t crowded at all, which made it even more worth it. During the hike, our guide Monica and co-guide Raul provided all of the necessities for this down and wet trip and honestly, were better than guides, I think we all bonded on this trip more than your average hike. Between Monica’s knowledge and personality (she loves to dance ;) ) and Raul’s kind heart, they were the absolute best. I would recommend this trip for people that want a taste of the Inca Trail, but not the full 4/5 day experience and even this trail I would say go into it with at least some training! TreXperience was so communicative and helpful throughout most of the experience. The only downside of the entire trip was on the return from Machu Picchu, there were a LOT of mudslides due to the rain and caused the return journey to top almost five hours - with no food and a little cup of water we got on the train. I do wish there was a bit of a contingency plan put in place because there were several times that I thought we were going to get stuck and stranded. It was nice that it was an all inclusive price. All that being said, this was a once in a lifetime trip and I wouldn’t have changed seeing Machu Picchu for the world.
Yes People signing up for the Trek need to know the extent of it. They need to really prepare for this . It rained so hard on our first day. Very slippery. It says toilets on our breakfast and lunch break. It was Horrible. Just a hole in the floor. Our tour guides .. Monica & especially Raul were AMAZING!!
We had an amazing experience on our 2-day Inca Trail hike and Machu Picchu tour with our tour guide Mr. Gilbert. He was extremely knowledgeable, informative, and professional throughout the entire trip. One of the highlights was how well he connected with our two kids. He kept them engaged and entertained throughout the hike while sharing fascinating information about the surrounding flora, fauna, Inca history, and important archaeological landmarks along the trail. He also took some amazing pictures of our family along the way, which gave us wonderful memories to take home. Kids loved calling him Mr. G. The following day, our tour of Machu Picchu on Circuit 3B was equally impressive. The weather was rainy and there was quite a bit of fog, but our guide was flexible and adjusted the schedule to help us get the best possible views and experience the site without missing the important highlights. He went above and beyond to make the entire trip smooth and stress-free. He was always punctual, made sure we had all our bus and train tickets ready, and helped us with recommendations for restaurants and shopping spots in Aguas Calientes. We highly recommend him for the Short Inca Trail, Machu Picchu, and other hiking experiences. His knowledge, professionalism, flexibility, and genuine care for our family made the trip truly special. We would definitely choose him again!
We had a fabulous time doing the short Inca trek and visiting Machu Picchu. Gilbert our guide was brilliant, always making sure we were ok and never rushed. He was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of information about the trail and a very in depth tour of MP the next day. Both him and Dani (the second guide) took plenty of photos for us too. Food was fabulous, a good breakfast at the trail head and a delicious full cooked lunch with loads of options. The trek is a challenge but really beautiful and walking through the sun gate to get your first glimpse of Machu Picchu is so special and well worth it. The communication from the office could have been better and they were slow to respond to queries but once we had the briefing details from Gilbert and started the trek. Everything was perfect.
Every aspect of the tour was well-organised and enjoyable. Pepe was a superb tour guide who was passionate and knowledgable about his environment and very caring towards everyone in the group. The food provided during the hike was also excellent. Machu Picchu is a truly remarkable place, highly recommend seeing with with Pepe!
Once in a lifetime experience. Our guide, David, was excellent - very knowledgeable, passionate about Inca history and the native wildlife. He was very patient with our developing hiking skills. The chefs also prepared a great breakfast and lunch.
