2 Day Inca Trail To Machu Picchu (Small Groups)

Wonderful time on the two day Inka trail hike to Machu Picchu. Christian was excellent - he is a trained biologist and his knowledge of the local animals and birds was such a plus! He also gave an excellent tour once we reached MP. Other perks were the trip out to MP was very smooth, the packed lunch was delicious with good portions and we were able to go our own pace and really enjoyed the day and hit the sun gate at the perfect time for great pictures. 10/10 would recommend both Christian and MP tours!

The initial booking was a little frustrating as we booked a 4 day Inca trail and learned 48 hours later there were no permits left for that hike. However, after that hiccup, John was quick to get us permits for the 2 day hike during our trip and everything else was seamless. Our guide, Christian, was incredible. Extremely energetic and knowledgeable. Always on time. Had great insights into every piece of the hike, from wild life to plants to history, etc. We were extremely impressed and would definitely travel with him again. Machu Picchu tours provided duffel bags that were portrerd to the hotel ao we could bring just our day bags on the hike. The hotel in Aguas was nice and had hot water and early breakfast. Overall a really great experience.

Highly recommend having a guide to curate the experience and create stress free no hassle travel! Our guide, Christian, was excellent and would definitely recommend him!

We done the 2 day inka trail to Machu Picchu with Christian as our guide. I can’t speak highly enough of our guide Christian, he went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience possible. He is also a trained biologist so he had a lot of knowledge of all the plants and wildlife whilst trekking through the rainforest which added further to the experience. We absolutely loved this experience and is worth every penny. I would recommend this company and tour guide to any friends or family visiting macchu picchu as it felt more personal to us rather than in a big group setting.

Amazing experience, really well organised and informative! We got really lucky with the weather and especially with our tour guide Christian he was full of great energy and knowledge which made the trip even more enjoyable. After arriving from a comfortable and well planned journey with John who left us on the train which was an experience in itself we met Christian at the station, unfortunately I hurt my ankle in the first 5mins but he was well prepared with a pole to assist me and we soldiered on. From there the day was perfect and Cristian positive energy and great banter made the days thoroughly enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this company, Thank you!

We had a wonderful time doing the 2 Day Inca Trail with Machu Picchu Tours. John was very kind and helped us to plan our trip a few months in advance. He also meet us once we arrived to Cusco to explained the logistics of the hiking. Luis, our trekking guide, was fun, he made us feel safe and well taken care of. My friends and I are 3 ladies in our mid forties, we recommend to do some hiking training previous to your trip. Although the trail is doable it is definitely more enjoyable if your are physically prepare. Expect a long day of riding a bus, a train and 13km hike. Plus some altitud.

The experience was amazing! Very well organized logistic. John (at the office) and Luis (our expedition guide) made us feel safe, treat us with kindness and kept us informed of all the details. My husband and I just completed the 2-day Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, and wow, what an experience! The hike was challenging, but every step was absolutely worth it. From the stunning views to exploring ancient ruins along the way, this adventure was nothing short of magical. Our guide, Christian, was truly incredible. He was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly attentive, making sure we stayed informed about the history of the trail and the ruins, as well as keeping us safe and comfortable throughout the hike. His passion for the culture, nature and history of Peru was contagious, and his sense of humor kept us going through the tough parts of the trek. When we finally reached Machu Picchu and saw it through the Sun Gate, I couldn’t help but tear up. The view was breathtaking, and it was a moment I’ll never forget. Peru has now become one of my favorite places in the world, and this trail is definitely a must-do for anyone looking to experience the magic of Machu Picchu. We had an amazing 5.5-day tour with Machu Picchu Tours, covering the Sacred Valley (1.5 days), the Short Inca Trail, Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu, and Rainbow Mountain. The trip was perfectly planned from start to finish, the transport, the hike, the hotel, the food and the entrance to Machu Picchu. The lovely guide Edwin was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the site, the hike, and it's history. It truly is an incredible and captivating place that is a must see if you have the opportunity.

Our guide Edwin was excellent. The first day is very challenging but equally rewarding, and we were really glad that MPT arranged a pre-meeting the day before to go over logistics and make sure we were properly equipped -- renting poles is highly recommended, well worth the $10. Reaching the Sun Gate and getting the full vista of Machu Picchu felt like a life accomplishment. The second day is much less challenging, walking through the actual ruins of Machu Picchu, and we felt much less pressure because we'd gotten such great views and photos the day before.

We had an amazing experience on this tour. Our guide Edwin was the best! I felt well taken care of during the challenging but incredible hike. He was very informative as well. I recommend 1000%!

We did the 2-day Inca Trail with Machu Picchu Tours, but wanted to start from Urubamba so we worked with them to book a private tour. We also added on another day with a Sacred Valley Tour. Our guide was Edwin, and he was great! Always willing to be flexible and take it slow for us, since we live at sea level that altitude was tough! Any time I reached out to the company with questions they responded within a few days.

I've been traveling all along Perú during this last month, and being in Cusco, since i have peruvians roots, was sincerly amazing, i can't find the words to describe how amazing Machupicchu is, it's jus breathtaking... And it wouldn't be the same experience without the excellent assitance of Machupicchu tours, they are so supportive, finding all the perfect answers to all our needs, caring and very professionals, thanks to all of you guys for making this such an amazing journey.

AMAZING !!! Have nothing but amazing things to say. My two best friends and I just finished our first day and have our second day tomorrow. From the very beginning John, our tour guide, went out of his way to make everything extremely easy for us and make sure every detail was taken care of. He met us at our hostel 2 days before to go over the plan, the map, and everything we needed to know to prepare. When it came to the actual tour he is a wealth of knowledge and answered every single question we had ( and we probably asked over 100). Lunch came with the tour and was so delicious. He also took a ton of pictures for us to make sure we captured every memory. The place is Aguas Calientes has a beautiful view of the mountains with a balcony and dinner was a great time. John truly made it an experience of a life time can not recommend more !

We did the two day hiking tour with John our guide. It was well organized and He picked us up at our accomodations. We took the bus to the train and afterwards we started the hike. We made some breaks and John the Great always supported us with information about the nature and landscape. The lunch was really delicious and served very well We had a nice dinner with the group before we checked in our really nice hotel. We would recommend this trip with love.

Our 4day/3 night Inka trek was awesome. The porters carried almost everything & got our tents ready at the camp site. They were strong & friendly. We were well fed with 3 meals/ day. Our guides were knowledgeable, and on top off what they were doing . Awesome job , Charly !

The porters were fantastic!! They are friendly, helpful and strong. They carried everything we needed, tents, sleeping bags, food , bags...everything ! We were remote, far from civilization but the porters transported everything to make our hike as easy and safe as possible. The chefs...oh boy! Absolutely amazing! The food was delicious and gorgeous! How he did this ..is remarkable. We were well fed!! This was a great trip!

Couldn’t ask for a better Machu Picchu experience. Jose had all the details. We were picked up at our hotel, train tickets taken care of, made our accommodations in Aguas Callientas, and was the perfect guide on the Inca trail. I got sick half way through the trail and Jose was there to carry my camelback for a good part of the hike. Not every tour company does this. I traveled with my 19 year old sons who had the best time thanks to Jose. Thank Machu Picchu tours and Jose for helping us make memories that will last a lifetime.

Jose was very helpful. The itinerary was very nice and everything from hotels to food was planned. The hike was somewhat strenuous but the views and photo opportunities made it well worth it! Jose was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions we had about the Inca ruins and history. This was my favorite tour of the vacation and I would highly recommend Jose to anyone who wants to visit the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu!!

This is a great way to experience Machu Picchu on a shorter hike! We had booked as a small group but it ended up just being the two of us and our guide Frank. The communication from the company was excellent from start to finish. We were always kept well informed via WhatsApp. I'd say you need a moderate level of fitness to complete this day hike as there are a lot of steps and uneven surfaces. It took us around 5 hours to complete the hike and we had plenty of stops along the way. After being picked up from our hotel at 5 am by John and his driver we were given the option to stop for breakfast at a restaurant closer to the hike which was lovely (not included in cost) . The same restaurant had prepared us a packed lunch (included in cost) which was very tasty and more than adequate. Frank our guide on the hike and for our visit to Machu Picchu was very friendly and knowledgeable and made it a great experience. He looked after us very well. Seeing Machu Picchu for the first time is truly a magical experience ❤

It was always my dream to go to Machu Picchu and Fernando went out of his way to make our experience exceptional and stressfree! Everything was seamless (despite the rain) and we learned so much about Inca history and culture along our hike. My group took the 2-day Inca Trail tour and had a fantastic time - definitely the highlight of our whole Peru trip. Of the 3 other tours we took from Cusco, this was by far our favorite company and experience. From the beginning they explained everything clearly and answered all our questions. Our guide Charly was the best. We never felt rushed and he took lots of time to explain the geography, botany, and history along the hike and in Machu Picchu citadel. Our guide Charly was amazing, he knew so much about the plants along the trail, the environment, and the structures along the way, he took fantastic care of us and we had great meals and a comfortable place to stay. A very insightful trip to Machu Picchu along the two day short Inca Trail with John. We visited three Inca sites before stepping into Machu Picchu and the tour gave us a detailed understanding to the Inca civilization and Andean civilization. The food were taken care of by the company and they were really good and filling. The detailed guided tour of Machu picchu on the secind day was very insightful. Well worth the time and money.
