My trip to Cusco and 4 day camping on the Machu Picchu trail was life enriching. The Inkayni tour was led by our excellent guide Edwin and the whole team from booking, to handling our gear and food, and historical details was top notch. The interactions with the porters and guides helped us understand their pride in their local culture. Seeing so many ruins in the Andes as well as orchids and hummingbirds and the Amazon forest really enhanced the journey that culminated at Machu Picchu. It was a super difficult climb at some points but we were not hurried. I’ve lots of pictures for memories but the feeling of the experience is for life. Cheers.

Itinerary
Day 1
1
One member of Inkayni team will be waiting for you in the airport or bus terminal when you arrive in Cusco city. Then, we will lead you to your hotel; you'll have a free day to acclimatize to the altitude and explore the city downtown by your own. This day is very important as it will serve for rest and acclimatization in the city.
Day 2
2
We will pick you up from your hotel around 8 am and begin a scenic journey to Moray (11,500 ft). The 1-hour-20-minute drive winds through the breathtaking Andes, past golden wheat fields and charming villages. Upon arrival, marvel at the Inca’s amphitheater-like terraces, carved deep into the earth to experiment with crop conditions. Next, we visit Maras (10,892 ft), an ancient salt-producing center with over 3,000 pools etched into the mountainside, fed daily by a trickling stream. The dazzling white terraces contrast beautifully with the red earth. Continuing to Chinchero (12,342 ft), we explore Inca walls, altars, and a colonial church adorned with stunning murals. Witness the art of Andean weaving, a tradition passed down since pre-Inca times. Later, we head to Ollantaytambo (9,160 ft) to board a train. As we descend through lush valleys, we reach Aguas Calientes (6,693 ft), the gateway to Machu Picchu, where we’ll spend the night.
Day 3
3
The day begins early with breakfast before boarding one of the morning buses to Machu Picchu (2,430 meters or 7,972 feet). Upon entering the Inca citadel, your guide will lead you on an in-depth tour, sharing the captivating history of this iconic site and explaining its most remarkable features, such as temples, ceremonial areas, terraces, and storage structures. If you’ve secured an additional ticket in advance, you’ll also have the opportunity to explore either Huayna Picchu (2,720 meters or 8,924 feet) or Machu Picchu Mountain (3,082 meters or 10,111 feet) for a breathtaking perspective of the surroundings. After the guided tour, the group will return to Aguas Calientes for a brief rest and lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll board a train back to Ollantaytambo, where a private van will be waiting to take you to Cusco.
Day 4
4
Early in the morning, between 4:00 and 5:00 AM, we will pick you up from your hotel. After a scenic 2.5-hour drive, we’ll arrive at Mollepata (9,200 ft) for a hearty breakfast to prepare for the adventure ahead. Our journey continues to Soraypampa (12,700 ft), the starting point of a rewarding 2.5-hour trek. During the ascent, you’ll marvel at the region’s diverse flora and fauna, spot native birds, and enjoy breathtaking Andean landscapes. Upon reaching our destination, we’ll pause to enjoy snacks while admiring the awe-inspiring Humantay Lagoon (13,800 ft), famous for its turquoise waters and serene beauty. After ample time to relax and take photos, we’ll return to Soraypampa via the same trail. Following a satisfying lunch, we’ll head back to Cusco in the afternoon, concluding this unforgettable journey.
Day 5
5
Start your day early to witness the magic of Rainbow Mountain. Between 4:00 and 5:00 AM, we’ll pick you up from your hotel while Cusco is still asleep. As we travel south, the valleys awaken with golden morning light, revealing misty landscapes and quiet villages. After two hours, we’ll arrive in Cusipata (12,772 ft), where a warm breakfast prepares us for the journey ahead. From Cusipata, we’ll continue by van to Phuluwasipata, where our trek begins. The two-hour ascent immerses us in the breathtaking Andes, with herds of alpacas and llamas grazing freely. At the summit of Rainbow Mountain (16,470 ft), nature unveils a masterpiece—vivid red, gold, and turquoise hues stretch across the ridges, framed by endless valleys and snow-capped peaks. After taking in the views, we’ll descend for 1.5 hours back to Phuluwasipata. Our transport will then return us to Cusipata for a well-earned lunch before heading back to Cusco, arriving downtown between 4:30 and 5:30 PM.
Day 6

Communication was below average for such a distant and somewhat complicated event. Not proactive enough in pushing out info as a whole. Only issue on the climb- need more HOT water and SOAP for cleaning at each meal along with drying towel. Multiple group members have come up with colds and had intestinal issues. Not saying lack of hot water caused this , certainly a factor that may have increased likelihood. The entire staff were great to work with, be around and established a great representation of the Andean peoples of Peru.
Edwin was our guide for Cusco, Machu Picchu, and the Sacred Valley, and he was outstanding. He was extremely knowledgeable and explained the history in a way that made it both interesting and easy to understand. Edwin spoke excellent English, was attentive and patient throughout, and nothing was ever too much trouble. His professionalism and enthusiasm really enhanced our entire experience. We would highly recommend Edwin to anyone visiting the region.
Edwin was very fríendly, everything was awesome and nice, the tours were very well explained with their history in every place All the experience was so awesome Very appreciated

Great experience with Eddy as our tour guide. He took the time to explain the history of the sites as well as the meaning of symbols and structures. He was also very helpful taking pictures and answering all of our questions.
2nd time in Local Adventure's trip and I feel very glad to choice it. Expert tour guides in local culture, history and many interesting facts about Inka's tours. Also, Franklin and Guido (driver) assist us in every single step. Best way to go to any place as first time experience!
This trip was totally amazing! Every single place was breathtaking, Machupichu really honors its title as a Wonder of the World. Justin and Eddy were friendly and they seriously made their best to help us enjoy this trip. Great experience
Eddy Ninan un guía local de Chinchero que conoce la historia de los Incas ,se toma el tiempo de explicar y responder dudas. Lo recomiendo ampliamente para que contraten sus servicios. Eddy Ninan is a local guide from Chinchero who knows the history of the Incas, and takes the time to explain and answer questions. I highly recommend that you hire his services.

It was an amazing tour! Isaac and Johan are the best guide ever! It is just not a tour it is a full experience. They are very professional, always take care of us. The best part they are native Peruvian and talk Spanish and Quechua perfectly.
Saúl the tour guide for our tours at Chinchero and Machu Puchhu was awesome. He is very friendly, kind, and has a great and extensive knowledge of history of these sites. Learned so much in addition to seeing the awe inspiring sites. Everybody was very organized and prompt with any questions we had which was reassuring from administrators to guides to pick up and drop off staff to briefing staff. No complaints. Just be ready for back to back tours and early morning start times. Great service.
Very fun tours. The guides were fun and helpful. Everything was well organized and we were taken care of. We saw the highlights of Peru 🇵🇪 in less than a week. Memories for a lifetime!
Freddy was amazing! We really enjoyed our time. The comprehensive itinerary provided a perfect balance of cultural immersion, breathtaking landscapes, and historical insights. The guides were knowledgeable, adding depth to the journey. The accommodations were comfortable, and the local cuisine was a delightful culinary adventure. Overall, this tour was a remarkable blend of exploration and relaxation. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking an enriching travel experience.
This trip was really well thought out, super fun and enjoyable. Our guide Ronald Sotalero was so knowledgeable about all the sites and made Peru such an amazing experience!!
Amazing experience, unbelievable. Special thanks to Paul and Jimmy for the attention, patience and support. I will come back pretty soon.
Our 10 days trip from Lima - Puno was wonderful and very well organized by Inkayani tours. We had a great time all these 10 days. Inkayani group has done an amazing job, specially our tour guide Freddy is incredible, has a good knowledge about the history of the places. His spiritual connection made our trip extra special, got to learn quite a few interesting Inkayani traditions. Highly recommend this tour group and Freddy.
Wilbert was excellent. Extremely kind. Great English. Felt like 11th grade history class all over again except this time it was extremely interesting. I can tell people what happened in 1432, 1532 and 1911. Wilbert felt like family. Uncle Wilbert ❤️. He made the stories interesting and even giving some personal stories. He really kept my attention. He answered questions from everyone and gave good details and descriptions. I can tell he’s well respected because as we walked around other tour guides and workers at the craft stores and restaurants called his name and shook his hand. He took his time with us. Everything was clear. He’s so knowledgeable. Theirs is so much more to be said about this man. We had him for 2 days and I felt like crying when we went our separate ways. If anyone is reading this please ask for Wilbert. He speaks English well and Spanish. He also helped with our photos!!! You will not be disappointed if you get lucky and get a chance to have Wilbert to be your tour guide.
They took care of my physical condition and explained the tour to me in English in detail. Also their reply was fast and helpful. I am happy to join their tour.
We did a 6 day tour with Inkayni Peru Tours / Waman "Essential Cusco, Andean Jewels". It was an amazing itinerary of macchu picchu, the beautiful Hamantay Lake and rainbow Mountain plus others. It was a combined English/Spanish small group. Shared transport as a group to each destination but the group would split at each destination with English guided group and Spanish guided group. It was very well organised each day. Our guide Wilbur (Willy) was fantastic and kept each day running smoothly. The quality of the transport was great and the hotel quality was great too. Overall, I would definitely recommend this company for your trip to Cusco.
The guide Paul was really familiar with the history of Inka Civilization. He was so skilled at story telling that I enjoyed learning much about the remains. Without him, I couldn’t have been such impressed as I did when visiting the historical places. He was also a great photographer. He knew many good photo spots and had ideas to take cool photos and movies. During the whole trip, I seldom got worried about the details of the tour itinerary thanks to his guidance in advance. I can strongly recommend this tour. Thanks Paul!!
I did the tour with Jonathan all the places where wonderful and I enjoy it a lot specially machupicchu and thanks for everything I really Enjoy it once again thank you
We decided to book this tour in order to see more places than with the Inka Trail. The agency was really helpful with our questions before the start of the tour and they even gave us suggestions on how to continue our trip in Peru'. Our Guide Saul was with us for all the excursions explaining in details all the history and nature of the places we visited. Our driver Miguel (Miguelito) is the fastest man in Peru': he was never late and allowed us to visit every place longer than scheduled. All in all it was a great experience that I can definitely recommend especially because we spent almost 4 hours in Macchu Picchu where usually other tours only allow 2h walk.
This was an absolutely amazing tour and trip. Our tour guide Wilbert made the whole trip so much better and was so knowledgeable about every site we went too. He is from the area and was the best tour guide we could have asked for. Transportation and meals were all amazing, we got to eat local food that was delicious. I would recommend this tour to anyone that is looking to explore Peru and try to visit as much as possible in a short amount of time. Without a tour like this it would be impossible to visit so much stuff in a week! 10/10 amazing trip, thank you Wilbert!
Wonderful tour! Our guide, Percy, was wonderful and everything was arranged for us so there was nothing to worry about. Our hotel was very nice, safe, and comfortable. When we WhatsApp’ed the number provided upon our arrival to ask a question, it was answered within 15-20 min. All trips were as described. I highly recommend this tour with Inkayni. Thank you Percy and David!!
Wonderful trip with Jonathan as our guide and mentor. He made the history come alive and clearly loves his country and its’ people.
Well organized, everything worked out. The private tour with Yeny to Machu Picchu was a highlight! She was very friendly, helpful, and speaks very good English!
A very nice experience. The Peruvian people and landscapes are wonderful. Thank you to Justino for guiding us on this adventure
I really liked the attention, they were very well organized for everything. The palms are taken by Justin who was our guide and showed us beyond the touristic, sharing the Andean richness; its people, food, flora, fauna, very complete, it was a great experience this visit, also Roni who was our driver in the tours, excellent service.
An ideal tour and logistics for the first time in Peru. The agency took over and was careful throughout the process. Justin, our guide, made sure that the experience beyond just cultural and tourist, had an emotional twist and total presence. With his passion and extensive knowledge, he made this experience unbeatable. We also thank Roni, driver of the van who was attentive to us every day and his human warmth was an essential part of the comfort and tranquility of the trip. I can't wait to come back. And I look forward to meeting these very exceptional people again.

One of the best experiences was meeting our guide: Johan Sikos. Johan was an amazing person at all times, he explained everything perfectly, he supported us at all times, he took a lot of pictures of us, the truth was that more than a tourist guide was like a spiritual guide on our way. I am very grateful for your care and always show genuine interest for each member of the group.
