Our guides Ernesto and Paul were excellent! From the beginning of the tour to the very end, they did their absolute best to ensure we had a memorable time, which was no easy task as we were a large group of 18 family members. They are very knowledgeable, experienced, and an all around great pair of guys! From the onset of the process Gonzalo, our initial main contact at Inkayni, did an outstanding job explaining the services and organizing the entire adventure. Communication from the start of the process to the very end of the tour was SUPERB! Unfortunately, our trip to Machu Picchu was impacted by a forest fire, which altered plans and almost impeded access to Machu Picchu. Paul and Ernesto along with the Inkayni team back in the main office sprang into action to ensure we had accommodations for the unexpected night in Ollantaytambo and managed to get us (all 18 of us!! ) back on track the following day to our much anticipated visit to amazing Machu Picchu, which involved rescheduling accommodations, train tickets, bus tickets and entry tickets. We can't thank the team enough, and especially our guides, for the exceptional services, patience, flexibility, and kindness towards each member of the family.

Day 1
1
One member of Inkayni team will be waiting for you in the airport or bus terminal when you arrive in Cusco city. Then, we will lead you to your hotel; you'll have a free day to acclimatize to the altitude and explore the city downtown by your own. This day is very important as it will serve for rest and acclimatization in the city. Pass by without stopping

Day 2

We will pick you up from your hotel around 8 am and begin a scenic journey to Moray (11,500 ft). The 1-hour-20-minute drive winds through the breathtaking Andes, past golden wheat fields and charming villages. Upon arrival, marvel at the Inca’s amphitheater-like terraces, carved deep into the earth to experiment with crop conditions. Next, we visit Maras (10,892 ft), an ancient salt-producing center with over 3,000 pools etched into the mountainside, fed daily by a trickling stream. The dazzling white terraces contrast beautifully with the red earth. Continuing to Chinchero (12,342 ft), we explore Inca walls, altars, and a colonial church adorned with stunning murals. Witness the art of Andean weaving, a tradition passed down since pre-Inca times. Later, we head to Ollantaytambo (9,160 ft) to board a train. As we descend through lush valleys, we reach Aguas Calientes (6,693 ft), the gateway to Machu Picchu, where we’ll spend the night.
Day 3

This day, we will start by waking up very early and then take the bus that will take us from Aguas Calientes town to Machu Picchu citadel. Our guide will provide you all the information on the site during 02 hours of a guided tour. We'll learn about the Historical Sanctuary in its entire splendor. We return to Aguas Calientes to have lunch. Finally, we'll catch the train back to Ollantaytambo town, and then we will go back to Cusco city. At night We'll drop you off at your hotel.
Day 4

Early in the morning, between 4:00 and 5:00 AM, we will pick you up from your hotel. After a scenic 2.5-hour drive, we’ll arrive at Mollepata (9,200 ft) for a hearty breakfast to prepare for the adventure ahead. Our journey continues to Soraypampa (12,700 ft), the starting point of a rewarding 2.5-hour trek. During the ascent, you’ll marvel at the region’s diverse flora and fauna, spot native birds, and enjoy breathtaking Andean landscapes. Upon reaching our destination, we’ll pause to enjoy snacks while admiring the awe-inspiring Humantay Lagoon (13,800 ft), famous for its turquoise waters and serene beauty. After ample time to relax and take photos, we’ll return to Soraypampa via the same trail. Following a satisfying lunch, we’ll head back to Cusco in the afternoon, concluding this unforgettable journey.
Day 5

Start your day early to witness the magic of Rainbow Mountain. Between 4:00 and 5:00 AM, we’ll pick you up from your hotel while Cusco is still asleep. As we travel south, the valleys awaken with golden morning light, revealing misty landscapes and quiet villages. After two hours, we’ll arrive in Cusipata (12,772 ft), where a warm breakfast prepares us for the journey ahead. From Cusipata, we’ll continue by van to Phuluwasipata, where our trek begins. The two-hour ascent immerses us in the breathtaking Andes, with herds of alpacas and llamas grazing freely. At the summit of Rainbow Mountain (16,470 ft), nature unveils a masterpiece—vivid red, gold, and turquoise hues stretch across the ridges, framed by endless valleys and snow-capped peaks. After taking in the views, we’ll descend for 1.5 hours back to Phuluwasipata. Our transport will then return us to Cusipata for a well-earned lunch before heading back to Cusco, arriving downtown between 4:30 and 5:30 PM.

Enjoy a free morning to relax and explore the city at your own pace. Depending on your flight schedule, we’ll transfer you to the airport for your departure to Lima or your next destination

Great experience; the tour company, and especially the guides, did a great job guiding us through the different sites. They explained every site in great detail, with knowledge and passion. What stood out the most was how they handled adversity. Due to fires, the Machu Picchu train service was suspended for the day. The tour company and the guides, once again, never left us and were in constant communication. They were able to find us accommodation for the night. They gave us a tour of the Sacred Valley, which was not part of the package, and were able to rebook our visit to Machu Picchu, which included our train ticket. Great job, great experience. Our trip to Cusco, the sacred valley, Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain was incredible. Edwin is a wonderful and amazing guide. We fully enjoyed our immersive experience with him. We did a private tour with him for our time in Cusco, et al. I have nothing negative to say about him or our tour in the region. I have no reservations whatsoever recommending Edwin and Inkayni tours. The hotels and service were all excellent and Edwin's knowledge, patience and skill as a tour guide are superb.
Our first time visit to Cusco, the sacred valley, Machu Picchu and the Rainbow mountain was so amazing, culture and landscape wise. Our English speaking guide Edwin was excellent in communication and knowledge. His recommendations on activities were done based on our limited time and physical capability. We felt very lucky to have Edwin during our visit to Cusco, Machu Picchu and other sites.
We had the pleasure of having Paul give us a private tour of Cusco and surrounding areas for about a week, an it was unbelievable!!! Paul is extremely knowledgeable and is also very engaging so we never got bored, the activities he took us on and places we went to are things we never would’ve been able to of done our self. We were planning on doing the salkantay trek but because of landslides we were not able to do Paul took the time to take us to numerous areas of the sacred valley as well as ausangate to make up for it and it was amazing. He also came with us up to Machu Picchu and gave us a really interesting and in depth tour of one of the wonders of the world. The cool restaurants a photo spots he took us too which no other tourists would get to go to is also another thing I am grateful for, on top of all of this he also helped us book our rainbow mountain tour and get good rates on accomodation around Cusco and surrounding areas. I am forever grateful for Paul and how much time and effort he put into us, I 100% recommend utilising his knowledge and company if you are coming to Cusco as he is the best guide in the whole world!!!
Can’t rate this experience more highly, Paul is the best guide we have ever had and this experience wouldn’t be the same without him. Not only did he take us on breathtaking hikes and showed us all the sights, his knowledge and passion for the history and culture of the area is unmatched. Paul also spent time outside of business hours, taking us to football matches and helping us book various other activities aswell. His food recommendations are unmatched (you have to try the donuts) and just an all round top bloke!!
Good and quick communication before we decided what we want. We used what apps to communicate for discussion of our customise tour for 4 . We did request on the hotel that we wanted and they did manage it. The tour guide was very friendly . The roads were bumpy but a big van for 20 people and there were only 4 of us which we would have plenty of space.

Having taken many tours with wonderful itineraries the best tour often comes down to the tour guide and bus driver. Jonathan and Ronnie are ten out of ten. Two nicer people would be hard to find. Not only were they on time, they were very careful and even more caring. Our trip through Machu Picchu, ollantantambo, Aguas Calientes, and all the sites around Cusco were awe inspiring. Our lunch with a local family was a true highlight. I highly recommend this company and Jonathan and Ronnie.

We book our tour with Inkayni, an agency we really recommend for any private tour. We went to the Sacred Valley, Ollantaytambo, Machu Picchu, Lake Humantay and Mountain of Colors. From the beginning we were looking for an agency that could adapt to what we wanted to do. We were two people and whenever we asked for any changes or adjustments to the itinerary, they were always very flexible and accommodated it without problem. We had Justin as a guide throughout the tour and it definitely made the trip even more special. He has a lot of knowledge and above all, you can see the love and passion he has for the history and culture of Peru. Besides that, he was always very friendly and patient with us.
