Christian our tour guide was a brilliant asset to the tour. He knew a huge amount on the history of Ingapirca. I only wish we had more time for him to keep telling us more of the history!

Itinerary
Prepare to embark on an exhilarating journey through Ecuador's stunning highlands, where breathtaking vistas await at every turn. Our destination? The awe-inspiring Ingapirca, an impressive Inca fortress-temple drenched in history. It's considered to be Ecuador's most significant archaeological site, and it's not hard to understand why. The Inca people's incredible engineering skills and architectural prowess are evident in this site built by sun worshippers.
Our adventure continues with a picturesque 1.5-hour drive to the charming villages of Gualaceo and Chordeleg, where a delightful traditional lunch at the Arhana Resort awaits. Our set menu includes an appetizer, main course, soft drink, and a small dessert, with vegetarian and vegan options available upon request.
Our next stop is Chordeleg, a town renowned for its talented jewelers and other handicraft shops. Here, you'll have free time for shopping or soak up the town's fascinating ambiance. Whether you're on the hunt for the perfect souvenir or simply looking to explore, this is a great stop.
In Gualaceo, we'll visit the colonial plaza, you'll immerse yourself in the town's rich history and irresistible charm. Enjoy a coffee, and for the adventurous, try the traditional Rosero drink. It's the perfect way to experience the authentic flavors of Ecuador.
At our last stop, we'll visit a local family's workshop where you'll get to witness the intricate process of weaving shawls and ponchos on antique looms. Using dyes extracted from plants, this traditional method has been passed down through generations. After a full day, we'll make our way back to Cuenca.

We adventured to Ingapirca with Xavier, and amazing and personable guide. Xavier was able to communicate in both Spanish and English, while allowing us to practice our Spanish with him! Very knowledgable and intentional with making sure everyone understood all of the nuances of the temples. We had the chance to interact with local artisans as well and that opportunity was so eye opening!
This tour was great and our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the places we visited. I would definitely recommend this for people who want to visit the archaeological site and the artesanal towns.
Wonderful trip to se Incan ruins and visit some smaller towns. Tour guide spoke great English and was very attentive.
I joined the tour to Ingapirca and several other stops yesterday and had a wonderful experience. Luis impressed us with his extensive knowledge and fun facts, while creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere within the group. The drive was very comfortable, and the beautiful nature along the way was truly impressive. And don’t worry, fellow vegetarians! There are good vegetarian lunch options available, just make sure to let them know in advance :)
Cuenca tours offers reasonably priced tours that use super friendly educated and organized tour guides. Our tour guide Adrian Mora Zea picked went above and beyond educating us on our itinerary stops and provided additional insight on other sights and areas along the way. I highly recommend him as well as Cuenca Tours and will be booking another tour before I leave.
Great experience! I was paired up with Eddy for the day , not only was he a pleasure to be with, but he's also extremely knowledgeable about the history and site. I am so glad that I was able to take this tour and would list it as a "Must", when visiting Ecuador.
A great experience and a wonderful driver and guide who was very knowledgeable and helpful.
This was a wonderful tour. Diego not only took us on the tour, but gave us a detailed history of Cuenca and Ecuador in general. He was polite and a wonderful tour guide. This is a tour we will remember forever.
I had an excellent experience doing this tour with Diego. He was right on time to pick me up and drove carefully throughout the day. Along the way and at our stops he answered all of our questions and shared his extensive knowledge of the places we visited. I especially enjoyed learning about Ingapirca. This tour is a great way to see some of the beautiful and interesting areas outside of Cuenca without the hassle of driving or figuring out public transportation. Thank you, Diego!
Luis is a great guide and we leaned so much about the Canari culture and the Canari and Inca archeological sites during our tour. We highly recommend Luis and this tour!
Xavier is an amazing guide. He provided us with a wealth of information, and he made sure we all understood what was said if someone else spoke in Spanish. He was very kind, professional, well organized, timely, answered all questions, and a pleasure to spend the day with. This was our best tour during our stay in Cuenca, thanks to Xavier. We can't recommend him enough.

Comfortable bus. Small group. Very good tour guide. Interesting stops at craft shops. Engaging explanation of historical sites.
Amazing trip! Our guide Juan, and driver Homero picked us up at our hotel. Our van was comfortable and Homero was a safe driver. Juan is a local guide and is very knowledgeable about Cuenca and the surrounding areas. As we traveled he provided information about the area, its history and the environment around us. At Ingapirca he provided a great tour, not only teaching us about the site but various flora and fauna we saw. The learning continued as we visited Gualaceo and learned about the lkat style of weaving. Lunch was delicious and well worth the price! An appetizer, soup, entree, dessert and drink. Chordeleg was amazing and we enioyed seeing how the silver filigree is made. Last stop was back at the large Gualaceo market. Juan helped us find an amazing bakery where we had delicious Rocio (a local fruit drink) and bread. Homero safely delivered us back to our hotel. Fabulous tour with an excellent guide! Do yourself a favor and take this tour!

We hired tourist guide Eddy Zea for two days. One of those days was for a full-day tour to Ingapirca, Gualaseo, and Chordeleg. We had an amazing time, Eddy was very knowledgeable, intelligent, polite and willing to allow us time to really enjoy the sites. I highly recommend his services.
This was a great experience for my wife and I. The whole day was a blast. Our guide, Moises, was the best. He provided a great history of the surrounding countryside, discussing the original people, the Inca expansion into Ecuador, through to the modern day. A great wealth of knowledge. After visiting the ruins, we went to watch and learn from several artisans, carrying on long-held crafting traditions. Lunch was great too. Highly recommend this one.

Overall great experience. Very authentic and interesting. Enjoyed visiting all sightseeing points. Guide was not only kind but very knowledgeable and informational
Ingaprica tour was very good. I signed up for the group tour, but we were the only people, so I got a private tour for the price of a group tour. They honored the price and everything was great. Our tour guide Wilson was great. He is knowledgeable, helpful and has excellent English. He picked us up at our centro hotel at 8.30 and returned about 4.30. We went to Ingaprica ruins, and a couple of villages for crafts and lots of scenic views. The crafts were interesting and the sales pitch was low pressure. The countryside is beautiful. We stopped for photos whenever I asked. Lunch was included and was good. I would recommend the tour.

Wonderful day-long tour to the ruins of Ingapirca and the towns and artisans of Gualaceo and Chordeleg! Our guide, Luis, was fantastic. He clearly loves being a tour guide and is very knowledgeable about Ecuadorian culture. He was professional and courteous with a great sense of humor. Oh, and he spoke English very well. We were also very impressed with Cuencatours—wow! Questions were answered immediately, and the process from booking to pick up was very smooth. We will definitely be booking more trips with Cuencatours in the future.

Our guide was Luis and it was myself and my two kids (ages 12 and 8). We couldn’t have asked for a better tour. Luis made sure my kids were happy as well as make sure all the adults were being fully informed and the great places we visited. He was really thoughtful and patient. The tours were extremely interesting and a must for any visitors to this area. Thanks again for everything
Luis was a great guide for a full day of exploring the area around Cuenca. She would be our go-to guide for any additional wandering.
Eddy was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and made me feel like a friend. The tour had more to see than I expected and I enjoyed every experience. Well worth the money.
This tour was wonderful! The guide - Cristian - is really knowledgeable and was able to engage our mixed group (ages 5 - 65, mix of English and Spanish speakers). The artisans he works with in Gualaceo and Chordaleg who share their talents with the group are amazing. He was also on top of making sure the lunch met several varying dietary needs.
This trip was amazing. Our tour guide Andres Leon was amazing. Andres is very knowledgeable and catered to our needs. If you’re thinking of doing a tour use Cuenca Bestours. You won’t be disappointed.
