Freddie was an excellent driver, especially when roads disappeared and fog was really thick going over the mountains! Highly recommend.

Javier was a fantastic driver and guide. The minivan was comfortable and the hole in Cajas was amazing fun despite the weather!

I arrived at my destination as planned; however, the guide drove like a NASCAR driver. He passed other vehicles under unsafe circumstances that made me scared for my safety.

We had Steven who drove us from GYE Airport to Cuenca. He picked us at our hotel and dropped us right at the front door of our air bnb, which was nice because we didn't know where anything was. Along the way we stopped at a fruit market, a restaurant for lunch and some scenic picture spots in the mountains. We drove through Cajas NP which is on the way and saw beautiful scenery. Steven was very nice and willing to stop for bathroom breaks or food when necessary. Steven's English is good but not fluent and our Spanish was very little, so we had some difficulty communicating, but not a big deal. He is willing to drive you straight through or stop wherever you want. I would book the basic travel package and then tip your driver at the end for whatever stops he made for you. Steven also lives in Cuenca so he can give you a city tour or recommendations on your way into town. Highly recommend this company!!!! Thank you

Excellent experience! Communication from Javier while booking the reservation was great. The driver (Steven) was on time for the pickup at the airport and holding a sign. He was helpful and pointed out many interesting sights as we drove. He was an excellent driver, and we felt very safe. The return trip to the airport was just as good. This was by far the best experience of our entire trip so far. Javier was quick and extremely cordial in explaining our pick up time and being there for anything we needed to ask. The real gem of the experience though was Steven, this guy is a legend and I truly hope everyone realizes how special he makes this business. From his gracious time to his funny conversations and perfect guide work it just made what would have been a regular 4 hour drive the most amazing experience. I used their services on August 11, 2022 for a one-way road trip from Cuenca to Guayaquil. Very responsive, professional and courteous service. I was able to make the arrangements the day before by email. The vehicle was a comfortable SUV and we made great time even though the drive involves a lot of winding mountain roads (very scenic drive!). Would definitely use Cuenca Bestours again the future.

We arrived home safely. It was a beautiful day and the scenery through the Cajas mountain range was spectacular.

They provided me with private transportation between Guayaquil and Cuenca. Great communication beforehand from Javier, including making sure to provide a vehicle that would accommodate all the luggage I warned them I had. The driver Steven arrived for pick-up right on time, and was a professional and safe driver, and also pleasant and helpful throughout the trip, including extras such as bringing luggage up to apartment at end of drive.

Steven, the driver, was absolutely excellent. We talked about music and singers from my country and played some of my favorite songs the whole trip, which I enjoyed very much. He even stopped so I could take pictures and appreciate the beautiful mountain view from Cuenca. I had a great experience.

When we made reservations for the transfer, we based our timing on research we did on internet prior to visiting the country. When we were in Cuenca, the company contacted us to find out more about our intentions for the transfer. We ordered the transfer from Cuenca to Guayaquil to catch a flight to Galapagos. Once they learned that we needed the transfer to make a flight, they guided us on the timing by explaining the road situation during the morning hours (driving in the mountains in the morning through a fog definitely takes more time) also taking in consideration the traffic congestion during the rush hours (none of this was a part of our research based on general comments of the trip). Needles to say, we were off in our estimation by 1 and a half hours. I am so glad they contacted us and guided us to correct the pick up time, otherwise we would have definitely missed our flight to Galapagos. The driver was experienced and very hands on. We felt very safe the entire trip. Thank you

The normal route between Guayaquil and Cuenca was closed due to road work so we had to take the longer, more perilous route. The driver was confident, cautious, polite and friendly. Working with Javier to arrange the transportation was a pleasure. If you are in Cuenca, or visiting Ecuador in general, use his tour services. You will be impressed with the professionalism and service.

Happy to say that Cuenca Bestours (CBT) is continuing their service of transporting people hither and yon. We recently traveled with them from Cuenca to Guayaquil and returned a few days later. Although for some reason my directions were imprecise, the driver persisted until he located us and we had a pleasant trip down the hill(s). On the return, a different driver picked us up at our hotel precisely as indicated and a pleasant trip back up the hill ensued. Javier contacted me several times to make sure all was in order and keep me informed on the vehicle that would be used as well as name and phone number of the driver. Great thing about this company is that you can book ahead and pay with credit card through PayPal or through a bank deposit or many other options - see their FAQs. There is a small additional fee for using PayPal, but it is worth it. Most companies here ask for cash payments. Cuenca Bestours also has a U.S. number so you can book from the U.S. and Whatsapp to use for free in Ecuador. Another plus - they pick you up where ever you are and take you to your destination - they don't drop you off somewhere at an office and then you have to find your own way as a bus or van company might do. Excellent driver skill over difficult road. New clean vehicle. Driver spoke little English, but was otherwise friendly and helpful.

The trip itself was good. Bad roads, two car accidents to negotiate, heavy traffic- the driver did well with all of that. But the local company was terrible with communication. They didn’t confirm pickup place or time. Local phone for them is Spanish only. Hotel desk clerk called the evening befy, they couldn’t give information , said they would call back in an hour. Didn’t. Another call finally got him the information

Our driver, Fernando, was excellent. Though we encountered fog and rock slides during the drive over the mountains he was very careful and familiar with the road as he has routinely driven the route. He arrived at our location promptly. We thought the cost of the trip, $80 for the 2 of us in a private vehicle was fair and very convenient.

Super safe and super friendly was Steven who picked us up from the airport and took us to Cuenca. Not to mention Luis Gonzales who was our tour guide on the Cuenca City tour and in the Cajas National Park, it is clear that he knows a lot about the culture, he is very friendly and always made sure that we were well and comfortable.
