Everything went smooth, from pickup to round trip. The locations were thoughtfully selected, local and genuine. Angie was the best guide and shared history and current info. Would definitely recommend.

angie was an amazing guide! she was so knowledgeable and we had such a good time on the tour. would definitely do this again
Our experience was made better with our guide Matt. He went extra with his freindlyness and knowledge of the area. I would recommend Matt and this excursion. At the end, Matt even got us a traditional coffee to cap off our outing.
Great tour of Crete with Angie! We visited Chania on a cruise and had a great day seeing a few local places and tasting olive oil and wines. Would definitely book with her again if I was on the island.
A great experience touring through the Olive Mill and tasting some of the best flavours from this beautiful part of the world. Tasting the selection of wines was much enjoyed by the family. A special thanks to our wonderful and lovely tour guide Angie, thanks for all your hospitality and knowledge 😃
Great tour guide Angie. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. Made for a fun afternoon in Crete! Learned alot about olive oil and had a great wine tasting!!
We can not say enough about this day . Angie was the absolute best. She was an amazing host , extremely knowledgeable about Crete, warm, funny and really showed us a fabulous time . The lake is beautiful. We loved tasting and touring the Kanakis olive oil mill as well as visiting enjoying a fabulous lunch and wine tasting at the DOURAKIS winery. Number 10 day
I'll begin by saying that for anyone who goes to Chania this is a must see tour. The tour is both informative, interesting and relaxing. Our tour guide Angie was as great a tour guide as you can ask for. Besids being a native Cretian with all the knowledge and facts one could ask for, she's fun, entertaining and after a few minutes with her she becomes "family." This was 1 of the best tours we've taken. Do not miss it.
This trip was one of the best days of our holiday. We did the trip to Kournas Lake followed by the olive oil factory and then onto the wine tasting experience. Angie (our guide) was absolutely fantastic, she offered to pick us up from our accommodation which was a big help and dropped us back. There were towels, snacks and water provided for us, by Angie. Throughout the day Angie recommended so many different places for us to visit throughout our holiday, she then followed this up with a WhatsApp message that evening. The information she provided was so helpful and she went above and beyond our expectations. If you are thinking about doing this trip on your holiday, our advice is definitely book it, you won’t be disappointed
Angie is amazing! She was so accommodating and flexible, and she has so much knowledge about the island of Crete and all its beauty. The lake she took us to was incredible and with her we got to avoid the hassle of parking and walking. The olive oil factory was awesome but the winery was my favorite. This is a great experience for your visit to Crete- highly recommend!
We had such an amazing time on this tour! The lake, winery, and olive oil factory were the absolute BEST! And Aggeliki was the best tour guide EVER! She taught us so much about Crete! We would highly recommend this tour!
We enjoyed our day with Aggeliki as our guide. She had great knowledge of Crete and is very easy to talk to and laugh with. She made us feel very welcome on her beautiful island and took us to some memorable spots. If your looking for a fun day with multiple experiences, I would highly recommend "Your Cretan Local".
I have no words to explain our fabulous day in Crete with Angie!! She was AMAZING! She is the owner and operator of the tour. We expected a lot and it was so much more! If you are visiting Crete, she needs to be your guide. She is the best! We are already trying to figure out how to get back here next year and have her tour us for days!
We were a group of tourists hoping to at least get a hint of “real” Crete. Angie delivered and more so. The trip included the olive oil tour (fantastic - who knew lemons make everything better?), wine tasting at local event venue, and a trip to Lake Kournas. But Angie really goes above and beyond. Party of eight too big for her meticulously clean van? No problem, she has a second vehicle and communication system (subject to Cretan wireless capabilities) ready for you. Want to stay a bit longer at the wine tasting? No problem, she is on your schedule. Feeling a little snacky and thirsty after that drive to the lake? Angie has you covered with a local treat that you might have seen before but not yet tasted. Turns out your part really likes the local cuisine at the next stop? Well she probably knows how to hook you up with a special tasting. And might even be able to swing a reservation at that restaurant you were considering but hadn’t booked yet. Truly amazing guide. If it’s in your budget, it’s worth every penny.
The owner/operator Angie is fantastic. She picked us up from our vila right on time in a sparkling clean Mercedes van. We had more guests than she could fit in the van (8) so another car with a driver was provided. As we headed to the olive oil producer she called over to the other car so that they could listen to Angie’s fun facts and history about Crete. The 6 the generation olive oil producer gave us a tour followed by a tasting. Next stop, a wine tasting and light lunch at a vineyard. Last stop a swim in a crystal clear fresh water lake with kayaks and paddle boards available to rent. We could have easily researched these stops and driven ourselves, but it was so worth hiring a guide. We learned so much more about Crete, and once we arrived at each spot, we had vip treatment (and no hassle looking for parking). We liked it so much that we hired Angie for a second day to take us to the village of Spila in the mountains for a coffee, then a beach on the south coast and finished with a waterfall in a gorge.
Oh, Honey!. This tour, led by our now favorite Cretan, Angie, is a great way to learn about the island, the history, the people and its prized offerings. The winery was beautiful. WE tasted 6 wines accompanied by a wonderful little lunch. The olive oil factory was my favorite. We learned about all about making olive oil and growing olive trees. It’s a great tour and tasting. At Kournas lake, we rented paddleboards and had the most delicious lamb I have ever tasted. The snails were better than the French escargot. Angie is a friendly, funny, smart, and knowledgeable guide. We loved our time with her so much, we booked a second day with her. Her tours are a must. Meeting her is a gift. Honey, you gotta do this.
Angie is the best! Absolutely hilarious and has an endless knowledge about the island and culture. The wine was phenomenal and you can’t beat the views. Can’t wait to come back
Anjie was a wonderful tour guide and provided us with her knowledge of Crete as well as bringing us to the best olive oil and wine tasting venues on the island. Anjie, is native to Crete and is able to share her experiences with her guests which we very much appreciated. Anjie made us feel comfortable and we had a wonderful experience with the tour. A must do....
Angie was amazing and really added value to the tour with her personality and her knowledge of Crete! Great places visited
I can’t say enough about how great this excursion was! Angie was the ultimate host! She thought of everything and was so informative to us as she drove. Her van was total comfort and she made us feel very relaxed. She’s a local of Crete with excellent English. The lake, the winery and olive oil experiences all exceeded expectations! Would recommend her again and again. Frankly, we were sad for the day to end we so enjoyed our time together! We bonded in an unexpected way and I’ll never forget Angie and how she made our Cretan visit memorable. Until next time!
Matt was an amazing tour guide for our day! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at each stop we made and were never rushed! The highlight was the olive oil factory tour and samples! Winery was great and the lake was stunning! Don’t miss out on this tour!
Angie at Your Cretan Local was such a wonderful tour guide. We experienced a great day exploring Crete. I was travelling with my Mum who has walking constraints and Angie adapted our tour to cater to her mobility and our interests. I would not hesitate to recommend this experience, when in Crete get in touch with Angie!!!
Very relaxing, enjoyable way to see and experience parts of Crete with limited time available in port from cruise. Angie was a super host explaining all about the island and allowing us as much or little time as desired at each stop. Also had nice local snack Angie shared with us after each stop. Lake was nice with some local shopping around it. Also got to see and walk out to Chapel in the Sea which was very cool. Olive farm and production location was extremely nice, enjoyable and low key. This was all topped off by a great trip to a beautiful winery with tour and tasting. Highly recommend this excursion and all the better if Angie can be your tour guide!
I can’t recommend Angie the owner of Your Cretan Local highly enough! She is a local of course and really has a way of planning a perfect day for you! The day she took us to the Kanakis Olive Mill and Dourakis winery was the best day of our already fabulous trip on this magical island. Absolutely worth every penny, you won’t be disappointed.
We very much enjoyed our tour day with Angie. On the way to Lake Kournas and during the entire day, she gave a lot of information about Crete, the culture, the go-to sights, the people living here, the every day life, and what kind of challenges there are on Crete. The tour was a good mixture of activities (‘bicycling’ on the lake spotting a turtle), history learning and knowledge on olive oil production, spiced up with small treats and quiz questions. The visit to Dourakis Winery for tasting and late lunch in beautiful surroundings ended a perfect day for us.
Aggeliki was the most fun and creative tour guides we have ever had. She showed us some incredible locations (Lake Kournas where we paddle boated and saw native sea turtles, a local olive oil factory where we saw exactly how olive oil is made in this region and did a tasting, and finished with a five-wine tasting and lunch at a gorgeous winery). She took the best photos of us, and would never let us try to take selfies on our own. Now, we will always remember the great time we had through the photos she took of us. Highly recommend!
Angie is the best, Lake Kournas is gorgeous and Dourakis winery has the best food and wine. We had so much fun!
I don’t even know where to start. We were greeted warmly and punctually. The entire trip was perfectly tailored to us and customized. Aggeliki spoke several languages, which allowed us to have great conversations and a lot of fun together. Along the way, there were small gifts that made every moment even more special. I can only recommend it to everyone and I’m already looking forward to the next time!
This was such a great trip! Our guide Angie was amazing! She picked us up in the morning and explained to us the plan of the day. After visiting the beautiful Kournas Lake we went to the Kanakis olive oil farm. It was so informative! We finished off at the Dourakis Winery for wine tasting. After getting the incredible tour of how they make and store wine, we had the most delicious lunch out on their patio. I highly recommend it. Thank you so much Angie for such a wonderful day!
Wonderful tour. Aggeliki makes you feel like friend or family when she drives you around. She knows the island and its history in great details and she always has a fun fact to share. Aggeliki has rare listenings skills and is eager to match your needs (we wanted to visit quiet spots and avoid crowd: she took us exactly to the right places). She also perfectly adjusted the planning according to the cloudy slighlty rainy weather that day. Aggeliki speaks perfect English and German. Her car is extremely comfortable and she drives very safely. Highly recommend Aggeliki Kourou VIP Tours.
Angie was such an incredible guide. She was funny, friendly, patient, and fun! She was flexible to our needs and wants. Even though this was a half-day trip, she took us on the trip for the whole day. My family (mom and two aunts) found her hilarious and so welcoming. I would book her in a heartbeat for future trips to Crete. I would recommend her separately from the Viator website.
This is an excellent and must do tour when visiting Crete. We were met at the port of Souda by our tour guide, Angi, promptly the morning of the tour. She was a lovely and delightful young lady who was articulate and well-educated. She speaks five different languages and is well versed in the history of her country and the region that we toured. We visited a splendid winery and had lunch. The wine was excellent and the food was superb. We also visit a wonderful olive oil processing facility which very clean and staff was very friendly and accomadating. Kournas lake was beautiful and calming surrounded by the mountains. Angi did a fabulous job of taking care of us by surprising with small treats throughout the trip from her region. The van was very comfortable and she did an excellent job of showing the region, educating us on the culture. Overall, a great trip that I would highly recommend for anyone visiting Crete!
My family and I had such a wonderful time on this tour, especially with Angie as our guide. We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast on the shore of the lake and a walk around it (although you can also swim or take a peddle boat out on the lake). The views were gorgeous and the water was so clear! Angie took us to a great spot overlooking the lake first to take photos and was happy to take photos of my family together. The wine tasting was fantastic and we opted to try several local cheeses along with our wine. The service was excellent and our server took the time to explain our wines and cheeses. The cellar tour was also pretty cool. We especially loved how much they also looked after stray animals. We learned the proper way to taste olive oil at our last stop and really enjoyed the olive oils and balsamic we tried there. We also appreciated the opportunity to try honey raki at the end. We definitely walked away with a few new delicious items for our kitchens. The real star of the tour was Angie though. We learned a lot of interesting things about Crete along the way from her narration and she had such a great personality interacting with my family. Communication in advance to determine pick up times, locations, etc. was very easy and clear. She even arranged with our private taxi across the island to pick us up at our final location, saving us a lot of time and effort. Her vehicle is very comfortable and well-equipped and we were all impressed with her safe and expert driving. She left us with many excellent recommendations for our next stop in Iraklio. I would recommend this tour with no reservations!
We loved this tour! The winery's setting was rustic and quaint and of course we enjoyed the wine! However, the best part of the tour was our charming guide, Angelina! We could tell the owners and staff all knew her personally and were very fond of her! We felt the same way and by the end of the day we knew we had made a new friend! TAKE THIS TOUR! Ask for Angelina!
Angie was delightful. Great energy all around. While weather wasn’t the best on the day of our tour, she was able to make accommodations and provide a different experience from the original plan. To Angie: when (not if) I return to Crete, would love to connect again :)
This woman! She has an amazing personality, she provides an absolute wonderful service and experience. She created a private tour with 3 activities: olive farm, horseback riding and a wine tasting! During the car drive from activity to activity she gave a lot of information about Crete, she spoiled us with goodies and made us feel so relaxed! She made us try a special Crete dish and did she share her must do restaurants and other activities on the island! I can go on and on about her! Do yourself a favour and book any trip with her!
My partner and I had the most amazing tour with Angie. She was a friendly and accommodating guide, we were the only people on the tour and Angie made us feel like VIPs! She went the extra mile to make sure our trip was special, including sourcing a cake and singing Happy Birthday to me within hours of finding out it was my birthday! The locations we visited were beautiful. We would highly recommend hopping on a pedalo on Lake Kournas - we were lucky enough to see the turtles and swimming in the middle of the deep lake felt magical. The people at the Olive oil factory and vineyard were very friendly and informative. Everything we tasted was amazing! Not to mention the setting of the vineyard looked like something out of a movie! Overall, we could not recommend this tour enough. Treat yourself - you won't regret it!
Angie was very personable and knowledgeable about the island! So friendly, took us to great locations, wonderful wine tasting and lunch. We really enjoyed our day. It was great!!
We would highly recommend this tour - and any tour with Angie! She is warm, easy going, wants to make sure you’re cared for and creates a personable and comfortable environment! We were able to see the lake, learn about the production of olive oil, did olive oil and honey tasting and then ended our day at the winery where we went on a wine tour and did tastings at a beautiful family owned winery. It was a fantastic way to spend the day and felt like we were spending it with a friend! Book this tour!
Excellent choice for those people who love nature and gastronomy. We ended the tour at Chanias which is a lovely old city with narrow winding roads full of shops selling local artisan goods.
This was the second time we booked with Angie. We visited kournas Lake and even had time to go in for a swim. Angie let us take our time and decide where we wanted to visit and she was very flexible regarding time. I cannot recommend her enough.
10/10 tour guide. Angie made all of us feel very comfortable from the get go and maintained a happy and fun atmosphere the entire trip. She was willing to answer any questions about Crete and it’s history as well as a lot of fun facts which you won’t find elsewhere. We all fully enjoyed our trip due to Angie’s fun and welcoming attitude. Would recommend to anyone wanting to experience Crete in a relaxed and fun way.
She was super knowledgeable about the area and even shared more facts about Greek mythology! My husband and I were on our honeymoon and she made us feel so welcome and even brought little treats! I highly recommend tours with her!!!
Angie is wonderful. Our day with her was the hit of a wonderful visit to Greece. Crete is lovely & Angie is the best person to help you enjoy it.
The hosts were the mosts accommodating. We just had long trip the day before, and my wife (who had a birthday) were feeling under the weather in the morning. Angie and Elpida were very supportive, offered a ton of help, and basically saved the day with their patience and flexibility. This was the true Cretan hospitality. The trip was great. Especially considering that this summer is the most unusual summer in decades for Crete. It wasoff the beaten path. We had a visit to the lake where we could sail on peddle-ship, then moved to the olive production facility, and eventually the winery (cheese plate was great with 5-wine course). Most unique and memorable.
A great day out if you’re looking for a taste of Crete! We were picked up at our villa at 10am, taken to a lake for a pedalo with a chance to see some turtles and other wildlife. Followed by a small tour at an olive oil producer with local olive oil and honey tasting, local produce available to buy. Finally had a tasty lunch accompanied with some wine tasting, and a tour of the winery itself. We’d totally recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking for a relaxed, enjoyable day out - our guide Angelina was very knowledgable and friendly, and very happy to recommend some nearby restaurants that have not disappointed. We’re very appreciative of the memories we’ve been able to make together 😁
A brilliant trip where you can visit the only natural lake in the island, an olive oil factory that is owned by a local family for generations and then the wonderful wine tasting at Dourakis! The amazing Angella whom I had the pleasure to have as a tour guide was very punctual, super friendly and welcoming and accommodating and made me feel like I’m going touring with one of my very family! This private tour is highly recommended and myself I will book her again when I’m back in town.
This tour was incredible! The guide is the loveliest and kindest woman with such attention to detail and she made sure we adored every single second. The lake is gorgeous and the boat ride was relaxing and breathtaking with loads of fabulous photo opportunities. But the best part by far was the winery tour. The wines were all delicious and the lunch was the best we had in Crete. The tour of the winery was very informative and unique! We cannot reccommend this tour enough. Thanks so much for an unforgettable experience!
Aggeliki is a very friendly and cheerful tour guide. She is well trained, speaks English and German and is very entertaining. She knows everything about her island of Crete and organizes great excursions according to her customers' wishes. She is very professional; you can't get to know Crete better or faster than this. Flexible and very helpful. Absolutely recommended!
Have a nice day, well organized fun experience and good wine. Nice location, friendly welcome and the possibility to purchase the bottles
