Nice to visit a place where staff are always smiling and the actual movie was great and full of history . Thank you so much

Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing, especially considering the price. The animation graphics looked like something from an early 1990s computer game, which made the experience feel very outdated. The movement of the seats was poorly synchronized with the film, or sometimes not synchronized at all. There was also a strange thumping sensation in the back of the seat that seemed pointless and added nothing to the experience. Although a Swedish language option was available, I wouldn’t recommend this experience for children who are expected to follow the narration. The content felt more like someone reading aloud from a school textbook about ancient Greece than an exciting and engaging cinematic experience. It was far too dull and uninspiring to keep children interested. Overall, it felt overpriced for what was offered. We expected a much more immersive, entertaining and modern 9D cinema experience, but the graphics, effects and storytelling simply didn’t live up to the price. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially for families with children.
Wonderful experience when visiting this nice island. For those that appreciate 3d paintings they have a 3d painting with the logo I LOVE CRETE . The cinema is a good way to learn the history of this great island while getting exposed exposed to rain snow earthquakes and lightning
Staff very rude and panicked around the concept of anything being broken for example they wouldn’t let anyone put there own headphones on and proceeded to shout at fully grown adults about how they are not allowed to do that. We bought some food and asked if we could eat it outside the room as we had been told eating in the cinema wasn’t allowed which they said yes to, but as we started to do that we got told we must go outside the building as there is paintings in the room which we weren’t near but we done that. But they were so rude to a family getting a photo with this cheap bull structure shouting at them saying they will break it or it will fall despite them not touching it and simply just taking a photo with it. The movie was painfully bad not particularly interesting dare i say and every 5 minutes we got drenched by the water effect. It was rather funny on how bad the experience was which was entertaining but do not bother wasting your time here. And i highly doubt the good reviews on here are done by actual visitors as the bad reviews perfectly reflect our poor experience.
Total tourist trap, way too expensive for what you get. The graphics are antiquated, the movie has very little info on the minoans and the "museum" was really bad. Avoid!
It was money well spent. My son with ADHD and sensory issues had the time of his life. I was worried that he would find it too much but he came out smiling. He couldn’t help himself but laugh and comment through it but the place is very friendly for our children Thankyou!
There a small museum teaching us the history of Crete. There were fun photo opportunities and then we got to do nice, cool movie theater with more information about Cretes history. It was a fun break in the day The chairs in the movie theater are moved around to help you experience some the history. It ended with a rollercoaster ride
Touristic trap, avoid! Parody on museum. Cinema way too expenaive.
As grandparents we took our 9 year old granddaughter to the show. She described it as awesome and cool. I think that says it all!
Good fun. I expected the photo/3D museum to be bigger/better. The film was good, though the graphics could be much better. My daughter and my own headphones didn’t work for the first half and the lovely staff let us rewatch the whole thing from start to finish afterwards.
I really don’t like giving bad reviews but this was pretty bad! Good points -staff very friendly and good air conditioning! We’ve been to a similar thing in Malta which was good this was not in the same league! The museum is actually the foyer! The films are so dated - I hoped we might learn a bit about Greek mythology but it was confusing We laughed at how bad it was 😬 but when you’ve paid 18 euros each….. Sorry
It was initially a 3D museum walkaroud, followed by a 9D cinematic experience which was very good. The cinematic experience lasted about 30 minutes and gave my wife and me a good general overview of Minoan history and culture. It was excellently presented and we enjoyed it very much.
I was early and was the only visitor and especiall for me they showed the movie in my language. Very friendly staff here and the movie about the history was great.
We had a blast at the Minoan World 9D experience! Very informative... fun and playful... we loved it!
In short, this was an awful experience but one that will certainly stay with us! We booked this because it had good reviews. We do want to start by saying that both staff members we interacted with were very nice. However, the 3D Museum is a small room that does have some nice paintings with some slightly surreal mannequins. Where to begin with the cinema experience? The initial video seemed like a Cretian tourist board video, but gave no info about any of the places that came up, nor really sold the to us. The second video was a brief introduction to the experience, which wasn’t necessarily needed. The 15 minute Minoan video is a really interesting premise, but was sadly not delivered on. It covered key myths but the graphics were so bad that this was all we could focus on because it was humorous. The 9D element included random bursts of wind, bubbles and some low tech volcanic bursts. The final video was a rollercoaster, which seemed very random when added to the overall experience. The pure chaos meant that we don’t regret going, but we wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to visit.
Don't do it 18 euros is far to much. 8 euros is more the price. You get soaked and it really belongs in the 00s.
We had a rainy day in Chania so we booked tickets online (only let us book two at a time). It was a 30 minute experience and gave the history of the island, mythology and people.
This was a fun and exciting experience. The guys there were very informative and the movie plus effects is exiting and fun in a way you don’t usually do things. Also interesting backstory about greek mythology.
The Minion figures and wall murals were interesting, though basic in design and production values. The screen experience itself was good yet would probably have looked much more impressive when the facility first opened, such has been the advancement in graphics. Both staff members were extremely kind and polite. Underwhelming probably describes it best.
Great wee show ,really enjoyed it and very informative as well as fun.Visited while on a cruise in the Eastern Mediterranean
This is a good activity for kids as the 9D movie is fun to experience. It is also a great activity to learn more about the Minoan civilization.
We were here with our 7 year old son. It is kind of entertaining but graphics of the movie is really outdated. With children between 3 and 7 years is is ok but with only adult people I wouldn't go there (also quite pricey)
Good opportunity for a variety of interactive photographs in the modern museum like waiting area where helpful staff showed us how to make the most amusing use of the 3D scenery and models if we so wished. Going through to the theatre/ cinema area the interactive 9D performances lasted for around half an hour which was just enough. There was an interesting and informative historical context film based on the origins etc of the Minoans and then finally an entirely different interactive performance mimicking a rollercoaster ride not unlike being in an Indiana Jones film. There were excellent special effects and overall this was a memorable experience which would be enjoyed by children and adults of all ages
Hands down the funniest experience we had on our Crete holiday. I will never forget the the sight of a 3d rendered bull carrying a lady over the ocean while the narrator attempts to speak over the incredibly loud sound of the wind machine, all while being sprayed directly in the face with liters of water. 10/10 would highly recommend!
We visited this place today as something different to do during our stay in Chania. It was great fun & we thoroughly enjoyed it! Well run family business with lovely staff. Very clean & modern plus a respite from the Cretan sun! Kids will love it. Recommended.
A nice interactive introduction to islands history and mythology. It has a small exhibition area where you can take photos as well as read a bit to occupy yourself while you wait for the next projection. Your children will have fun as well!
My visit to Minoans World was hands down one of the most unique and enjoyable experiences I had in Crete! Forget a regular cinema – this is a full sensory immersion into the fascinating world of the Minoans. From the moment we put on the glasses, we were transported. The 9D effects are phenomenal: the motion seats synced perfectly with the on-screen action (flying over landscapes, diving underwater!), the wind, mist, and even scents added incredible layers of realism. The visuals were sharp and captivating, making ancient Knossos and Minoan life feel vividly real. The scene flying over Crete and the palace took my breath away! Also the earthquake sequence was thrilling! What makes it truly special is how it combines cutting-edge fun with genuine cultural and historical interest. It's exciting and educational at the same time – perfect for both adults and kids. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, explaining everything clearly and ensuring we were comfortable. The whole experience was smooth, well-organized, and lasted just the right amount of time. The quality and attention to detail were outstanding. If you're in Chania and looking for something different, engaging, and truly memorable, look no further. Minoans World delivers a unique, very high-quality adventure that far exceeded my expectations. An absolute highlight and highly recommended – 5 stars without a doubt!
It was a very nice experience!!!! A family should visit this place!!! It's worth it a lot!! Hope everyone goes there and enjoy the movie!!
Our first experience of 9D and it was good fun! Our family of 9, with kids and adults all had a great time and laughs. A very good way to have fun whilst learning about Crete history. The staff were lovely and it well organised. We’d highly recommend this experience if you are visiting Chania.
The story was very nice, although do not expect modern animations. The effects were good, but there was a certain "effect" where you literally get slapped on your legs and it made the whole experience horrible. Wearing long pants is definitely a must. We literally had fear for when the next time this effect will appear.
I took many fotos in this museum and I hope to upload later The cinema is certainly unique with everybody feeling happy and I would visit again if Im around
I was with my family in Chania and I chose this activity! I made a very good choice because the museum and the film of the Minoan civilization were what I wanted for my children to see about the history of the Domain and the Minoans! The staff was very helpful, well done to the owners!
First time vacationing in Chania, Crete, a friend told me to come here to Minoan's world! He was right, it is a perfect activity with a very beautiful museum that deals with the Minoan civilization! I highly recommend it, it is one of the best activities in Chania! Many thanks to the owners!
Entertaining, interesting, and exciting. Well done, good effects. Eight-year-old enjoyed it, grandma enjoyed it, and the parents were happy that everyone was happy!
Good idea with somewhat poor execution. Only 1 of the 4 videos speaks to Minoan life. The rest are all fillers. So in essence you’re getting maybe 10 minutes of information. Not really worth it.
This is a fun attraction which I think would appeal to all ages .I found it easy to find as it is located near the central bus stop. Its not cheap but it's worth it.The staff are friendly and explain the safety procedures involved.I would highly recommend it.
Wish I could say that we got to have the 9D experience, but alas. I came here with my wife and another friend hoping to ride - we were the only ones there. But as we started to pay, the attendant pulled my wife aside and started telling her about accessibility accomodations involving a chair that would not move. All of us were really confused and thought it was maybe a language barrier thing, but alas, it became clear that this man deemed my wife too overweight for the ride. Now, my wife is gorgeous and curvy and has never been turned away from any similar ride before in her life. We tried to clarify that she was well under the limits posted on their own website and on their wall before our eyes, but the employee kept insisting that IN HIS EXPERIENCE it would be for her own "safety" to sit in the chair which would not move. Mind you, this "accommodation" was not being offered at a reduced price even though it kind of kills the entire point of the 9D experience. We would have happily signed a waiver, but this option was not offered. It was absolutely humiliating and unnecessary. We didn't come there for my wife to be fat shamed by some fatphobic d-bag! Again, I must reiterate that we read the limits and my wife was well BELOW the posted limits and this guy was judging her solely based on how he thought she looked. Suffice to say, all 3 of us were outraged and left without giving them our money. I realize this review won't deter most people from coming here, but if it spares anyone else the trip and the humiliation, then it's worth it. Shame on you, Minoan's World!
It's quite a small experience- the 9d films are quite fun though and the staff really helpful and friendly in the (small) photo section. A good 40 min experience but a little pricey! One way to learn about Minoan myths and legends though.
It was an amazing experience! The 9d effects were amazing and the staff was very polite!! I definitely recommend it!!!!
I was swept of my feet with this attraction! You have so many effects coming from all directions and in the end they have a fun train ride Very friendly staff Highly recommended
My visit to chania was very short but I had to include it as its in the centre of chania .It is full of effects like lightning, snow ,and rain but at the same time describing the history of Crete .I enjoyed it tremendously.
It was a cool experience that is worth a visit but it was quite pricey for what you get. It is a 3D cinema with a moving seat and extra effects like fans, bubbles, water and prods in your back. Children would really enjoy this to get out of the sun for 45 minutes
It was expensive for what it was. The graphics are a bit dated and our headphones were either too loud or only worked in one ear. You get to see five ‘films’ but one of them was just the intro and the last one was a random rollercoaster ride nothing to do with Minoan history. It was a bit of fun for kids with motion seats, spraying water, fans and bubbles. The waiting area for the cinema auditorium had a few Greek-themed historic models in it where you could take selfies. Again, just for kids.
A fun and educational experience to break up the heat and the history during our Crete holiday! We all (mum, dad, kids aged 7&9) learnt something and we all loved the 9D experience - definitely recommend 😁
This is an absolute delight. Popped in for a great experience. Lovely 3D photos. Great cinematic experience with moving seats, water and bubbles and Cretan history. Top fun.
Different way to learn about the Minoans. Geared toward kids. Chania has very few places where you can learn about early history and this is one of those places.
Great experience with the kids and a good laugh, the staff were helpful and friendly. If in Chania I would I recommend the experience for families.
What an experience....!!!! A fantastic activity for the whole family.... And all at such a good price!! Well done also to the friendly and helpful staff!
Was I about 35 years too old to be doing this activity that was clearly geared toward children/families? Yes. Am I sorry I did it? Nope. It was a really good time and a nice change of pace from typical tourist activities. I imaging kids 12 and under would absolutely love it.
This was our fourth visit to Minoans World and it was, once again, a great experience! The video is a perfect introduction to the history of Crete and the Minoan people. It's just long enough without anyone getting bored, kids and adults alike. Highly recommend!
