Areti was an amazing guide! She was extremely knowledgeable and was great to spend the day with. My wife & I had a fantastic time and would recommend this experience to anyone interested!

Areti was the picture of Cretan hospitality. The wineries and the wines were dynamic and beautiful and we definitely brought things home from each stop but Areti was the true highlight of the day. Her generosity in speaking about Greek life and culture truly enriched the experience. It was a joy to spend the day sipping wine and hearing about the wine, and the people in an authentic way.

We spent our time with Areti, who was the most amazing person and guide! Both winery's were absolutely amazing, from wine to food we both didn't want the moment to end. If you come to Crete as a couple you need to book this tour with Areti or you are simply missing out.

My husband and I had a wonderful time on this private trip to two fantastic wineries, Peterianakis and Lyrakis. Our tour guide Areti was very knoweldgemable about the area and about wines. She made sure we had a beautiful lunch paired with fantastic wines from the Lyrakis winery. She picked us up from the cruise port and we were back in time for the drop off. No problem! Very special day! Thank you Areti!

The wineries were both lovely and we tasted 5 - 6 wines in each location. Lunch by the vineyard was breathtaking and delicious.

Areti provided transport to 2 exquisite wineries in the Piza region of Crete. We stayed in Elounda so the ride to and from was a bit far, but well worth every minute of the tour. I highly recommend booking this wine tour to learn the history and fun facts about Cretan Wine from Areti. On our tour, we stopped at Domaine Paterianakis first. A small winery with some award winning wines. The property is gorgeous and wine fantastic. We learned very quick that Areti gives the best recommendations on how to pair the tasting wines with cheese, fruits, and other snacks provided. Our second stop was at Lyrarakis. Right before visiting the winery, Areti showed us a historical wine press. This also provided a good time to learn of the different herbs and plants that are native to Crete. It’s amazing to pluck a stem for such a strong scent or taste. Lyrarakis is a great winery. They offer a large variety of wines and we received a full course meal with wine tastings to pair. Overall, a must-do experience! Hopefully we’ll be back on Crete and can find time to experience a wine tour with Areti again.

First class service, from the moment you are picked up Areti is respectfully enquiring what your tastes are and wine preferences. From there, she expertly pairs wine and food to your tastes. This is a great day, excellent wine & olive oil with authentic Cretan food served at every stop. Areti knows her stuff, we learnt all about the history of Crete and how they had brought back certain wines from near extinction. If you’re not a big breakfast eater then skip it altogether that day as the food offered on the tour is outstanding. Highly recommended, look no further.

We had SUCH an amazing experience with Areti - this wine tour was definitely a highlight of our trip to Greece. We had a lovely afternoon sampling local organic wines from two different Cretan wineries; all of the wine was excellent and Areti really helped bring out the flavors and explained how best to enjoy them. We got to walk around the wineries, explore the vineyards and basements, and enjoyed the lovely views of the Cretan farmlands. Areti herself is such a pro. So welcoming, so knowledable, and absolutely charming. We were encouraged to try several things, and it felt like she really selected wines that both catered to our palettes and allowed for some further adventure. The food we were served was absolutely delicious, we even stopped by a local village to grab some cheese because we enjoyed it so much. Looking forward to touring with her again in our next visit to Crete!

Areti was a very knowledgeable and fun teacher and guide! We drove into the mountains of Crete and spent the day at 2 wineries where ample food and wine was provided. Crete has indigenous grapes and the wineries visited are focused on organic and biodynamic grape growing and wine production. Toured a winery at one and a vineyard at the other. We also stopped to see an ancient wine press. I will be exploring more Greek wines when I return home. I highly recommend this tour.

We had a wonderful day visiting 2 wineries and an ancient wine press with our very knowledgeable guide. The wines were very good and food exceeded our expectations- absolutely amazing! The scenery was stunning and we enjoyed the tours at both wineries. Our only complaint was that this was sold to us as a private SUV tour however it was a small car. My husband and 2 adult daughters are very tall so it was a very uncomfortable car ride. I think the tour operator should clarify this before accepting the booking request.

10/10. Areti is extremely knowledgeable, pleasant and kind - she helped us learn so much not only about Cretan wines, but also the island itself. She also helped me navigate asking for a meal safe for celiac disease at lunch- lucky me as the food was amazing. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! Areti was such a fun tour guide and incredibly knowledgeable about Greek wines. She took us to beautiful wineries with insanely gorgeous views, delicious wines, and perfectly paired local cuisine. She showed us local fresh fruits and herbs, and went out of her way to make sure our tour was incredible. As a wine-loving couple from Chicago, we would take this tour again and again. 10/10, an absolute must do! I never write reviews but this was one of the best parts of our entire trip all through Greece!!

It is a long day. Be prepared. However, the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and smart, she went out of her way to create a memorable experience, whether it was picking fresh figs for us, or visiting a local bakery on our way back to by fresh baklava. She opened my eyes to understanding how wines complement foods. She was light hearted and humorous.

Best wine experience we ever had. Areti is an excellent guide. She was informative about the wines and the area. She got to know our individual taste and had us try different things. We ended up having a lot of great wines and an amazing experience. The food was also great. Areti even picked us some ripe figs as we were walking the vineyard. Can't say enough about this tour.

As we had a very pleasant journey through a few wineries, explored the ancient history of wine making and a delicious lunch with Areti in 2023, when returning last year with family members that really enjoy experiencing new wines we immediately knew this would be a perfect fit for our trip. The tour is unrushed and we were expertly guided and enjoyed several samples at two new wineries for us Diamantakis & Douloufakis along with a drive through the beautiful Cretan countryside that ended with a traditional lunch with an amazing view. We thoroughly enjoyed both of our tours with Areti as she is great company, extremely knowledgeable and we highly recommend this tour!

The start of the tour could have included a bit more communication of what to expect but once we got past that the rest of it was quite nice. Areti was quite knowledgeable about the wine and the food pairing was fantastic. The best part was seeing the old wine press - super cool to see how it used to be done.

Areti was our chauffeur, tour guide, and sommelier. She made it a great experience in every aspect! Areti was attentive to all our needs (rest stops, water) and interests. She allowed us as much time as we wanted to explore the wine (some were exceptional). She took the time to explain in detail the different aromatic qualities, flavors of the wine and food pairings. My husband is a chef and we are both wine connoisseurs and foodies. We highly recommend this tour.

We had an amazing day with Areti—she is as funny as she is knowledgeable—an esteemed sommelier with a lot of experience. This is one of the most memorable days we’ve had on holiday and we are very grateful for the experience.

I never leave reviews but I had to share our experience! We had the best time on this tour! Areti was so knowledgeable, thoughtful, kind, and fun to be around. The food was absolutely delicious at both wineries — don’t eat beforehand! You will not leave hungry! The wines were all incredible and Areti tailored the pairings to our taste which was so nice. She also arranged for us to have a private table in the vineyard for our dessert which was a special touch. We had the best time and I feel like we learned so much about the area and the wines and the process…an awesome first day in Crete!

This was our favorite thing to do in Greece. The countryside in Crete is very beautiful and the vineyards we visited were beautiful. Areti is a wonderful teacher and we learned how to recognize the aromas of the wines and how to appreciate the subtle nuances and flavors of the wine in our mouths. She chose excellent vineyards which provided wonderful pairings of food that went with our wine tastings. I would spend the money and do this wine tasting event with Areti again and again. My husband and I loved it.

One of the best experiences we’ve done! Areti is amazing and warm and truly made the experience one of a kind! She was super knowledgeable about both wineries we visited and their backstories. She also knew so much about all of the wines that we tasted and helped choose some amazing food pairings to go along with them! Also had some awesome side excursions seeing an ancient wine press and exploring the town of Archanes. Areti made this experience incredible and we cannot recommend her enough! This was a really good wine tour. Areti was our tour guide, she is very knowledgeable and is also a sommelier. We visited two wineries and tasted several wines. At the second we had a delicious lunch with wine pairings. Afterward Areti took us up into the mountains to a quaint little restaurant for dessert and coffee, with great views of Heraklion below. I highly recommend this tour.

I recently enjoyed a wine tasting and food pairing tour in Crete, and it was fantastic! Our guide was knowledgeable and made the experience both fun and educational. We had a wonderful, relaxing private wine tour with Areti, who was both knowledgable about the wine and the area. The two vineyards selected presented us with a delectable range of local wines. Each vineyard had a strong vision driving their wine production. The food was simply delicious. We also had time for a relaxing walk in a beautiful local village, stopping for a drink and chat. We were picked up and returned to our hotel, so no effort required! Overall the day was fun and very good value - we fully recommend this to enhance your Crete holiday experience.

We had the most fantastic day with Areti, visiting two vineyards with wine and food tastings. Areti picked up us from our hotel reception, and communication was clear ahead of the day. It was immediately evident how passionate Areti is both about Crete and wine. She answered my (many) questions about wine and more broadly about Crete and Greece. The wine tasting was tailored to our tastes, with Areti asking questions to better understand our preferences. The food was plentiful, I have a big appetite, and was unable to finish everything! By the end of the day Areti felt like a friend rather than a tour guide. There was no pressure to buy any wine from the vinyards, but Areti helped us choose a couple of bottles for us to enjoy that evening - which were both fantastic. We would highly recommend this trip to anyone wanting to visit Vinyards in Crete.
