From Chania Private Trip To Spili-kourtaliotiko-kalypso Beach

We can't express how amazing Angie was! From the prompt communication to the pure hospitality that was provided the whole day. We really got to see the best of Crete and Angie was so knowledgeable about the island! We ended the day feeling like we created a new friend. This trip was incredible, and it’s honestly hard to describe exactly what made it so special. But I’ll give it a shot! So much of it was the destination itself. I didn’t have these huge expectations for our cruise stop in Chania - just hoped I’d picked a great tour - but every single minute felt worth it. The people, the scenery, the stops, the FOOD???? Unbeatable. There was something spectacular about the simplicity of it all. It felt authentic and beautiful and completely effortless in a way that is very hard to manufacture. But the thing that really made this stand out, what made the difference between simply enjoying a destination and having a true EXPERIENCE, was our guide Angie. From start to finish, Angie was the best driver and guide I have ever had. She put together the most amazing day for our girls trip. I laughed so much. I ate. I dipped myself into absolutely frigid water with her encouragement, which I can confidently say I would not have done otherwise. I saw incredible places. I had some of the best food of the entire trip. Have I mentioned the food yet? Because the FOOD. As I’m writing this, I’m hoping there isn’t a character limit because apparently I’m not done. Book this tour. I’m a travel agent, and a big part of what I do is actually visiting cruise destinations — especially throughout places like the Mediterranean — and trying the experiences myself so I know what I would recommend to clients. I would send every single one of them to Angie without hesitation. At this point, I’d probably follow Angie into a volcano if she told me it was worth it and promised we could get lunch afterward. 10,000/10. Unlimited stars.

First class experience.A true private tour…When you book as a “group” even if there are only 2 of you then it will just be you and Angie…Lots of fun facts given and Angie flexible if you want to adjust itinerary.She makes sure you are always comfortable and warned about things we might find challenging…ie the extreme cold of the gorge so we then happily embraced it rather than being shocked! Please be brave and swim to the waterfalls…you’ll regret it if you don’t as a once in a lifetime type experience!

Angie was the absolute best tour guide and the sweetest person! Loved our stops at the Gorge and the swimming area. Lunch was also fantastic! This tour is well worth the money. We normally don’t do private tours, but this was absolutely worth it. We were able to work with Angie to make some last-minute changes to the itinerary because we were tired of doing beaches. She was able to change things around at the last minute and she planned an amazing custom itinerary for us. We told her we wanted to do something more laid-back and enjoyable. So we ended up actually going to Rethymno and then also going to an olive oil tasting and a wine tasting. Being able to share meals and drinks with Angie really made us feel like we were having a true local experience. She really listened to all of our interests and catered everything around that. Our tour lasted from 10 AM to 4:30 PM. She had snacks and everything we could possibly need along the way. Angie is clearly passionate about what she does and she is committed to making sure that you have the best time possible based on whatever you want to do. I highly recommend booking this tour and working with Angie to create the itinerary that will make your day.

This was the best tour we’ve ever done. We were hesitant to do a private tour as we normally just drive ourselves. However, we were swayed by the reviews and we are so glad we were. Angie was fantastic. Not only does she know the history and interesting facts of the island, she is a great conversationalist and you can tell she really is passionate about hospitality and travel. She was extremely responsive to us as we requested a few last minute changes from the itinerary because we wanted to do something other than the beach. She listened to our interests and planned a custom day trip. We checked out Rethymno, did an olive tasting, and a wine tasting which is exactly what we were looking for. She was early to pick us up but didn’t rush us. Our day went from approximately 10am - 4:30pm. She had little snacks for us throughout the day and if we had wanted to swim she even had waterproof phone cases, beach towels, and a pool noodle. We are so glad we did this tour with a local. Having coffee and wine and lunch with Angie really made us feel as if we were experiencing Crete with a local and not just getting driven to site after site. For anyone considering Angie - just book her services. She will plan everything for you even past this just day trip if you just ask her for recommendations on food, lodging, activities, etc.

Book this tour! Or any tour with the Cretan Local! Angie was the best, she made the ride fly by while telling us about the island and we enjoyed her quick wit and humor! The Gorge was a unique and fun adventure, Kalypso beach was refreshing to swim or float around on noodles in crystal clear waters. Snorkel equipment was an available too. No long lines, just a chill visit! We loved our lunch at Spili, it was cozy and quaint! Nice local vibe. We ended the tour with olive oil tasting and honey tasting at a local olive oil factory. A fun upgrade! We even did some shopping there for local organic products and decor. What a fantastic day! Thanks Angie!

We had such a fun and unique day with Angie! She is hilarious, easygoing, and genuinely a good time to be around. She also knows so much about Crete and shares things about the island throughout the day in a way that feels natural and interesting. The gorge was absolutely beautiful, and we really enjoyed Kalypso Beach. Angie was incredibly prepared with everything we wouod need and even had a few thoughtful surprises that made the experience feel extra special. We really loved that the tour was private and personal. We never felt rushed and could just relax, laugh, explore, and enjoy the day at our own pace. This tour was the best! Angie is so easy to get along with, we all had a blast riding along with her and she's a fabulous tour guide. We were a party of 9, 4 adults and 5 kids ages 18, 16, 16, 13, and 10. All of the stops were interesting and worthwhile, I would love to go back and spend more time in all of them. The Gorge - very cold but worth trying it. A long walk down but not too tough, i did it in birkenstocks and was fine. Calypso Beach - so beautiful and clear, a very beautiful spot. We rented snorkels and had a great time, but if i went back i'd probably bring a little float for the kids because its more of a swimming hole than a beach. Spili - the most charming little mountain town. We loved lunch and shopped around a little bit and definitely could've spent even more time there. There really was never a dull moment on this tour!

The experience got us totally amazed ! The Kourtaliotiko Waterfall was refreshing and breathe taking landscape ! We discover the charming Spili village and the incredible Calypso Beach with a sweet guide ! This private tour was absolutely perfect. We had done a giant group tour just a day earlier and it went pretty badly so it was such a nice relief to see the beauty of Crete on a relaxed and customized pace. Angie was a great guide, so personable, easy to get along with, showed us the prettiest places, and was so great with our daughter, too. The itinerary of this trip is also perfect. The gorge is stunning, the beach is so unique and beautiful, and there is a salt water pool right by the beach that my daughter really loved (and we did, too). The village of Spili was small but also pretty. Angie made the day feel relaxed, never rushed us, let us stay at the different stops without tight deadlines and even recommended a few places in Chania to visit and dine at. Highly recommend Angie and this day trip.

Absolutely incredible day with Angie. She gave us so much insight into the island of Crete and Greek culture. She made the full day for our family amazing. Beautiful places and our tour guide experience was like visiting a great friend that knew where to take us and could speak the language.

We’ve taken a lot of tours over the years, but this one was different. Within minutes of meeting Angie, it stopped feeling like a “tour” at all — it felt like we were being shown around by a friend who just happened to know absolutely everything about Crete. She showed up with everything covered: ice-cold bottled water, beach towels, and a generous varieties of Greek and Cretan snacks, so we never had a moment to think about logistics — just enjoy the day. It was a hot one, so Angie smartly started us off at the Kourtaliotiko gorge — the water was freezing, but such a must-do, and we drank straight from the spring. From there she took us to Kalypso Beach to cool off properly, with crystal clear water that was exactly what we needed after the heat and climb front the gorge. Refreshed, we headed to a traditional Cretan restaurant for lunch, where Angie took us to a local restaurant to have gyro and other local dishes , and along the way we got to taste some incredible local olive oil and honey. What we’ll remember most, though, is Angie herself. She’s warm, funny, endlessly knowledgeable, and just easy to be around — the kind of person you feel like you’ve known for years within the first ten minutes. The whole day was full of laughing and talking, and we left already planning how we’d stay in touch. We highly highly recommend Angie!

If you are ever in Crete you absolutely need to book this tour! Our tour guide Mat was the BEST! My kids (13 and 15) loved his stories and how much he taught them! He was an absolute joy! When getting ready to book I wasn’t sure if this would work with our cruise line time line but Angie modified the itinerary to fit our family perfectly! She was always quick to answer any emails! What an amazing day!! From the moment we were picked up Angie made us feel welcome! Our experiences of the day we’re incredible, We went to Kourtaliotiko Gorge, Kaylpso bay then we went to a beautiful town called Spilli. I felt like we finally saw the true essence of Crete! I cannot say enough amazing things about Angie! We decided to book this private tour because we didn’t know what to do in Crete. Angie customized a schedule for us and it exceeded our expectations. Our first was a monastery that my sister said was her favorite part of our entire 16 day vacation. Next she took us to a small village where we got to watch a man make pottery in the same way they’ve been doing it for over 2000 years. It was the most unique experience and absolutely my favorite part of the entire trip. We then went to see where they harvest honey and got to taste some of the local honey. Once you have Crete honey, you will never buy anything else. She then took us to a grab and go lunch spot. That was absolutely amazing! I have been craving pitas ever since. After lunch, we went on a tour of a local castle. The views were amazing! Our last stop was one of the best. We got to go to see where they harvest olive oil. I will forever be checking labels of olive oil to make sure it is produced in Crete. None of these destinations would have been anything we would have selected. I’m so glad we left it to Angie to decide. It truly was the highlight of our entire 16 day vacation. We will definitely be making another trip to Crete to soak in the rest of this wonderful seaside destination.

From first contact, Angie was communicative and friendly. Mt husband and I got picked up by her in a beautiful, comfortable van and immediately felt welcomed and special. Book this tour with Angie! From the Gorge to the beach to the town, Angie provided us with the best experience all throughout the south of Crete. She was very easy to communicate with and set a meeting point. Angie is a local and knows everyone, so you won't have to wait for much! The beach and gorge were amazing water experiences while the town was an old charm. The lunch spot she took us too was probably the best food I had in Crete, maybe Greece. Angie was a great storyteller about the history of Crete and Greece, and kept us entertained the whole tour. I would book this sooner rather than later, as she usually is booked up weeks/months in advance!

Angie is the BEST, the BEST to give you a tour of Crete. From beaches to views Angie was able to accommodate us through our time with her. Starting from the gorge she provided us snacks and water, giving us directions where to go and what to expect. We then went to Kalypso Beach to enjoy the water and sun. Also providing us with towels and more if needed. Leaving Kalypso Beach we were able to grab lunch at a local restaurant that fed us an authentic Greek experience. (probably the best meal I had in Crete) We ended the day heading to the village as well as the honey and olive oil tasting. At the village Angie was able to explain everything and let us know all about the attractions and the different taste of honey and olive oil. We were super satisfied with the overall experience and she felt like family at the end of it. All in all, if you want a great experience GO WITH ANGIE

We have been on countless tours and excursions as a family over the years. So the fact that this tour ranks at or near the top speaks volumes. We could not have asked for a better tour operator and guide than Angie. We had read reviews raving about her but we were still skeptical until we experienced the tour ourselves. She’s not only highly educated and is wealth of knowledge, she’s also extremely friendly and easy to talk to you. She goes out of her way to connect with each guest and to ensure everyone has an incredibly memorable experience. Her connections as each stop definitely make a difference and the way she organizes the day based on time and place of departure does not leave anything to chance. From the super comfortable ride in her luxury van to our stop at the gorge which is such a unique experience, to the crystal clear waters at Kalypso beach, to a visit to a family owned olive oil factory where we got a private tour of the grounds and the facility, we had such a fun and diverse experience that will not soon be forgotten. Saying goodbye to Angie at the end of the day was more like saying bye to a family member. This experience alone has made us want to badly return to Crete the future.

We were traveling on a Seaborn cruise with a family of four which included two teenagers. Angie was incredibly knowledgeable and extremely engaging. I have two very active children who wanted to explore the island. She knew exactly where to go and kept the kids entertained at all time. We enjoyed the comforts of her Mercedes sprinter van, which was air-conditioned and clean. She had waters and snacks for us through the entire trip. I would highly recommend booking! While the tour itself was amazing, Angie was the true highlight. Angie was our tour guide. She was amazing. She had a warm, bubbly personality that made the day really fun. Crete is a beautiful island and we got a chance to try some local snacks, visit an old village, see the gorge (it was too windy to swim in it), ended up at their lake to swim, ate a local Cretan lunch (Angie helped make great recommendation on what food to order). The vehicle was very comfortable and was able to accommodate my tall family. It was one of my family's favorite activities to do while on our 13 day European vacation.

It was an incredible day spent in Crete! Angie was such a fun and fantastic guide and we saw some amazing places on this beautiful island. We learned about the history while also enjoying some of the highlights - a swim in a beautiful natural spring waterfall at the base of a gorge, visiting the beautiful Kalypso beach, a delicious sea-side lunch that was the best gyro I’ve ever tasted, and then olive oli factory and winery tours/tasting! It’s amazing we fit it all in, in one day, but it never felt rushed! I would highly recommend this tour and Angie is literally one of the best! My whole family loved the day spent with her! We miss her/Crete already!

I booked this experience for my family of 9 adult children. After reading all the reviews, we had high expectations and Angie exceeded them! Of course the scenery, the stops, the experiences, and lunch were amazing, but what differentiates Angie is her authenticity, ability to connect with people, love of her island, and attention to details. We felt so cared for every step of the way. The snacks after every stop hit the spot and she kept us well hydrated! In a short period of time she feels like a friend and truly met our family’s needs. Everything about this experience was a delightful surprise!
