(ROUTE 1)Now back to mythology Talos lived here, a prehistoric giant robot that Zeus gave to King Minos as a present to protect the island of Crete by crossing it from side to side with just a few steps! The cave’s history goes back to the late Neolithic period, as indicated by the various Neolithic tools and items found inside it. During the middle Minoan period (2100 – 1600 B.C) the cave was a worship site, probably of some female deity. Among the findings is a double copper axe was found dating back to this period. During the Roman period the cave was used as a sanctuary of “Taleos Hermes” and sacrifices were performed here to honor him. The cave was actually a significant sacred site in the region, as it was situated on the “crossroad” of three great ancient cities: Axos, Eleftherna and Grivilon. (ROUTE 1)

Had such a great time, 4 hours travelling through towns, villages, off road with a stop at the Meldoni Cave, they give you a packed lunch with stops along the way to enjoy the beautiful views, faultless from start to finish, my husband lost his wallet and it was found in the cave, they picked it up for him and dropped it back to our hotel, excellent trip, excellent guides, professional and lovely genuine people, top marks, you won't be disappointed 😀
An absolutely amazing quad bike tour. We booked this on the recommendation of a friend who did it last year. Amazing all around….4 hours of quad biking across beautiful countryside with a great pottery demonstration and half hour free time to wander around the pottery village. We can’t say enough about the owners (and guide) Maria and Michalis….wonderful, friendly people. Thank you very much for a great experience!
We had a terrible experience. We booked the excursion with GetYourGuide, family of 7. Although it was mentioned on the ticket, we didn't have our physical driving license with us. We travelled for 2 hour to get to the location for a 12 year old on his birthday and he was so looking forward to it. We paid €455 in advance. The person, who we got to know is the owner's daughter told us that we would not be able to take the excursion without the driving license, we had just 2 so we were only missing 1. The owner was very arrogant and didn't even offer us to take an alternative excursion, instead she said that she requested a cancellation and we will get a full refund. In the meantime we got a taxi to Margarites, and when we arrived there, arround 30mins later, she called me to say we will not get a refund. We all heard her say that she will give us a full refund and even the other groups who were taking the excursion with us heard her say it, but she was doing that just to send us away to look good in front of the other groups The guide who was going to take our excursion on the other hand was super nice and friendly, but the owner's daughter was so arrogant! She ruined our nephew's birthday. I hope no one will experience the same

One of the best experiences on the island! We booked to do the cave route initially and what an incredible experience! You have a great balance of Rocky Mountain terrain and smooth road driving. The caves are a lovely break in the middle and you see plenty of Crete whilst on the tour. The experience was that good we booked the second course with the stop at the pottery museum and this also didn’t disappoint slightly less rocky terrain but a much nicer ride. You stop in an old village too which was a lovely touch and allowed us to explore a different place. Both of the tour guides were exceptional from hotel pick up to knowledge about pottery they truly made the experience an enjoyable one. Excellent value for money, you get 4 hours out on the safari some food and water and free photographs sent to your email within the hour! The first time we booked we used a tour company on the beach front the second time we just messaged their WhatsApp and they replied within minutes an we were able to arrange transport to the safari directly through them. Thanks for an unforgettable experience!

Lovely people, clear instructions and a fun morning out. We all liked it a lot. Some of us hadn't been on quads before but the trip was tailored so it was doable but not too scary. Doing 40kph on roads and then over some dirt tracks across the countryside for some variety.
This trip was amazing, a brilliant mixture of terrain and the sights were amazing. I would go again on this trip in a heart beat ! Well worth the money.
We had an absolutely perfect experience with Nostos Safari Quad and would highly recommend it to everyone!!! From the very beginning, everything was organized perfectly. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and made us feel comfortable and safe the entire time. The route was beautiful, with amazing scenery and plenty of opportunities to stop and take pictures of the stunning views. We also really liked the breaks during the tour, they gave us enough time to look around and enjoy the places without being so long that it became boring. The two guides we had were very professional, well organized, and really friendly. You could tell they had a lot of experience and truly cared about making sure everyone had a great and safe experience. My friend and I honestly thought everything was perfect: the organization, the route, the atmosphere, and the whole experience from start to finish. It was definitely one of the highlights of our vacation. Thank you for such an amazing experience!

We did the morning tour to Margarites, through fields of olive trees and off-road paths... We rode a very calm and steady tempo so everyone could follow... The guide gave good instructions...
The whole family enjoyed the quad tour. We were picked up in front of the hotel and safely brought back after the tour. The length of the tour is perfect, interrupted by a break at an interesting cave. Really makes fun.
Absolutely fantastic experience with great staff, definitely recommend it and definitely do it again. No pressure to ride fast or bad, gentle, safe and good pace with guys at the front and back. We stopped at the caves and that was very interesting. Thoroughly enjoyed it :)

My wife and I managed to book a quad tour last minute. When booking, we were immediately helped really well. Upon arrival everything was clearly and neatly explained. The tour itself is the most beautiful experience you can have on the island of Crete absolutely recommended!

We went on Nostos Safari, & enjoyed it so much we went again the following week. It's a great way of seeing the countryside around bali. The quads are great for off road. The ceramics were great to see, too!
A great experience to see more of Bali in Crete and the beautiful views over the mountains. We went on the evening tour and chose route 2 (the ceramics). The lady at the ceramics talked us through the making of the pottery with a demonstration and then the tour guide talked us through the different fire types and the history behind it all. Was a lovely addition to the experience!! After the pottery, we drove to a little town/village where we had half an hour to have our own time where you can visit the shops or bar. The tour guide took some photos on his camera with the views and had some fun along the off road tracks which we loved! They provided us with a bottle of water each and the choice of a snack bar or a sandwich. An experience I would very much recommend:) Thank you !!
Nostos Safari was brilliant!! Very easy to contact company and quick responses. Picked us up and dropped us back to our apartment. The quads themselves were all looked after, get your sandwich and bottle of water in a cool bag ready for the quad journey. All the staff were very helpful from start to finish of this experience. Michalis was our quad leader, he was very friendly, professional and helpful. He even takes photos for you along the way so you have a brilliant memory of the quads. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area, it was worth every penny.
Excellent organisation from start to finish. We were given a safety talk and prepared fully for what we were going to do. They provided a drink and snack and excellent photos all included in the cost. Beautiful site seeing of the beautiful Crete. I would definitely recommend this trip. Getting to see parts of Crete not really accessible with other forms of transport .

Amazing tour and fantastic guide. Drove through some beautiful villages and stunning scenery and also lots of fun off roading. Tour set off on time , had a stop off at the caves which were amazing and a must see. A snack bar & water were provided. We felt safe , bikes were sturdy and well maintained. A really nice touch of the photographs that were taken , were emailed over for free at the end of the tour
Absolutely worth the price. Michalis was a very patient and friendly instructor who explained the operation of the quad bikes with ease and tolerance. The views are spectacular and the quad biking both thrilling and peaceful with some of the best views of the Crete coastline and even a trip into the caves. Without a doubt a must do if you are in Bali/Rethymnon.

Highlight of our trip to Crete. We have just come back from the afternoon safari and cannot recommend this company enough r. We have done many quad safaris in many different locations and this has to be one of the best. The quads are new, they are easy to drive, the terrain is amazing with vistas of hills, valleys and villages. Our guide was fabulous and our stop at the pottery manufacturer was a highlight and a wonderful addition. We were picked up and dropped off from our hotel in Rethymnos and were done for about 5 hours from start to finish. We had a quad per person and the rates of 90 euro were very reasonable for what you get. Water and snacks are also provided. If you are looking for a wonderful change of pace from your beach holiday, this is it. I highly recommend this activity.

What a day! We paid €120 at our hotel for a shared quad and it was worth very penny.. We were picked up by our guide at the hotel door and driven to the safari. We were fitted for helmets, Given snacks for the day, and shown around the quad. From there, we spent five unbelievable hours trekking through the Cretan hills, olive yards, lemon trees and much more with an amazing tour guide.. Seriously, what a way to see and experience Crete. I would do this again, over and over.. I could not recommend it more. It was the best day of my holiday. I loved it. Thank you.

We have been picked up by Michail from our hotel in Rethymno. The quads were in Bali, around 40min by car. 🚗💨 Then we have had a thrilling 5h trip on quads around olive forests and vineyards! 🌳🍇 We've seen more on that 5h adventure than on the entire our trip lol definitely worth the money! 💰💸 We have booked the afternoon ride which was ending during the sunset- this was just breathtaking experience, seeing the sea, the sunset from the top of the mountains! 🌅🌄 All that for €130 ( incl picked up from hotel, snacks and water, lift home, keyring and free photos!!! ) Highly recommend! It was a great trip, we have done many of these trips, also one in Crete, but Nostos is the best. Good and almost new vehicles, good route, good service and great guide. We had a free transfer from our hotel to Bali where the trip started. Then we had a great trip true the mountains, true the olive gardens, some small villages and some extra off-road. All was very safe and good for the whole family! Also where some ladies driving. I was with my wife on the quad and was big enough. Also a lot of space in the box for your bags. On the end we got a lot of pictures free in the email! So we had a great day and great professional pictures as a reminder.
So much fun! Never been on a quad hike before. Our guide was able to give us a quick tutorial then we were away. We were out for hours. Great value for money considering the cost of fuel. Some great places and views along the way and photos sent to your phone. Would definitely recommend this experience.
I give this experience 5 stars…great communication from the start of our enquiry. Picked us up from our hotel which was over 40 mins away and returned us. We’d never used a quad before and were given the proper instructions. An absolutely rilliant morning exploring the mountains and tracks. The pottery was lovely we saw a pot being made. We both had a go at the quad driving and the whole experience was brilliant. Michael and his staff were helpful and attentive. Thoroughly recommend this experience.

It was amazing. I was a little afraid at first but they are super helpful. You'll definately need clothes you dont mind getting dusty as the off-road part is really off-road. 😁 As the passenger i could even take pictures and videos of the beautiful landscape. Highly reccomend. 👍🏻

Day out for my birthday with my 13 yr old daughter. We had an excellent day. Trip was well organised and supplied fresh chilled water and decent modern quad bikes. We came back filthy and hot, but very happy.
