We had a fantastic stay at Alcanea Boutique Hotel in Chania. The hotel was extremely clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The breakfast was delicious and a great way to start each morning. The location was easily a 10/10—right in the heart of the harbour, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and things to see and do all within walking distance. There’s lots to explore around the harbour, but I’d say 4–5 days is plenty of time to enjoy Chania and the surrounding area without feeling rushed. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would 100% recommend Alcanea Boutique Hotel to anyone visiting Chania. I would definitely stay here again!

Incredible hotel with an incredible location in the old port and an incredible hostess. Ava was so kind and very generous with her suggestions on how to best enjoy Chania during our stay. If we return to Chania we will definitely stay here again. The breakfast that’s included with your accommodations was also quite good, and we were even prepared a take away package to bring with us to our early flight on our check out day.
We had a wonderful stay at the Alcanea hotel! The location is amazing with a lovely view of Chania. The included breakfast was delicious and the kitchen even packed a lunch for us when we had plans to leave the day early the following day. Lastly, the owner Eva was the sweetest hostess, meeting us upon arrival and showing us around the hotel and our room. Additionally, when I accidentally called her after we had already completed our stay trying to find the taxi service we had booked through a different hotel, she was willing to find us new transportation which I was so appreciative of. Would definitely recommend the Alcanea if staying in Chania!
Stunning boutique hotel right in the old Venetian port. Fantastic greeting from Eva, as if we were friends in her own home. Shown to Room 7, second floor, and being a 500 year old building there is no lift and the stairs are quite steep. (I counted 48 steps from ground floor to second floor). On the way to our room Eva showed us a delightful courtyard garden. And finally into room 7. And one word.... WOW!!! Extremely comfortable bed, and well furnished, with aircon, modern bathroom, and Nespresso Coffee machine. But the top part of the room is the small balcony with a table and couple of chairs to enjoy the view. Breakfast is served, to order, on the ground floor under the beautiful grape vines, again with a fantastic view of the port. Again extremely friendly staff. All in all 100% recommend the Alcanea if you are planning a short stay in Chania. Will definitely stay again.
What a wonderful establishment! My husband and I stayed in room 6. It had an amazing view, we could see the lighthouse from the balcony or from (my side of) the bed with the windows open at night ☺️. The hotel is at the end of the main part of old town, perfect for a quiet night when you still want to see it all lit up with hustle and bustle. Eva and all of the staff were so kind and welcoming! The morning breakfast was delicious and we were fortunate to stay long enough to enjoy everything. Do not skip the fresh orange juice!!! Thank you so much for an unforgettable first experience in Chania!
