Neither VIP nor great. They Outsource that tours to a third party vendor so you basically get whomever is available to take you and don't know if you're getting a good or bad group. In my case I got a not great operator, shark adventures. The boat itself was fine. The food was fine. The places that we went to were great but could have literally gone with anybody because everybody goes to the same places. Easy to find. When I checked in I had my money and they told me I owe them more than what was stated in my reservation. Argued with me and didn't seem to understand that I'm fluent in Spanish until he started to talk smack about me and I called him out on it. They tried to shake me down for more because apparently the reef fee is an arbitrary amount that actually doesn't go to anything on the reef. When I finally pulled up my email and showed them this is the written amount I owe you they through the overpayment money back at me and just took me to the boat and didn't say another word. Our boat driver was really nice and very personable. The guide not so much. Basically ignored the Americans and Europeans and only interacted with the native Spanish speakers who happen to be locals. The only time he acknowledged our existence was at the end of the trip when he noted that tips are appreciated though not required and said it pointedly at us because he knows that foreigners tip and locals do not. Interestingly he ignored us and was downright rude to all of us the entire trip. Although I was traveling solo, the other two couples that were with us said the same thing. Literally didn't offer to take any of our pictures like you did with the other people, when we asked for drinks we were ignored, and just overall not being nice person to deal with. His name was emiliano. As far as the glass bottom it was a strip on the boat that they used as a storage place and a trash receptacle. So even if you wanted to look down to see something you couldn't. It also is advertise you got to take your snorkel with you. No big deal, but they were grabbed from us the second we finished our last snorkel. The trip is literally the same as everybody else's so suggest you find one that is a little less expensive and go with them because you're booking directly with the operator. This is just a booking company and you have no ability to determine who you're actually doing business with you may get somebody good, or an like in my case, you may get somebody not good

Had fun snorkeling however I received a blank disc with no memories. This would have been a five star experience but receiving a blank disc is unacceptable.
WOW! Do not skip out on this one, my friends and I booked a guide our first day in Mexico in the spur of the moment and it ended up being the highlight of our trip! Our guides Juan, Santiago, and a few more were so kind, helpful, and hilarious! They provided ice-cold beer, water, and juice and had us laughing the whole time. This was our very first time snorkeling and they made it very simple and we all felt so safe! One of my friends isn't a strong swimmer and had a slight fear of water, but our guides made her feel so comfortable and she ended up having a blast saying she needs to do it again! we were so grateful for this experience and so happy we chose them! Thank you!!
I booked the "glass bottom boat" snorkeling tour on "Cubana" in Cozumel as an Airbnb experience. I was disappointed when I saw that the boat did not have a glass bottom, but only a small window in the middle of the boat. To see anything, you had to go to the middle of the boat to look over a partition into the window. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the tour operator and requested a refund. They declined the refund, and they advised me to "investigate more thoroughly before booking" next time.
We stayed at an all inclusive hotel and heard horror stories about a few of the tour groups. My wife and I were a bit nervous having booked this tour prior to leaving for Cozumel. Captain Carlos, "Snorkel-Master" Julian, and paparazzi Juan quickly put our minds at ease. It was an amazing time for the whole family, and now both of our kids (8, 5) want to learn how to scuba dive so they can "stay down longer". 5 stars isn't enough.
We recently did a snorkel trip with safetours and it was amazing - the highlight of our trip to Cozumel. Safe, fun, and knowledgeable...A+++
Honestly, all boats should have glass bottoms— the sights in this trip were beautiful and I didn’t even have to get salt water up my nose to appreciate them! Also the guides were super chill. Highly recommend.
Amazing guy, Arturo! He really made us feel comfortable and took care of all our needs! Highly recommended his tours and completely trustworthy
My friends and I had a last minute change of plans and were lucky enough to find Braulio! After giving us a nice tour of town (with lots of photo opportunities!) we were lead to a resort where the boat met us at the doc. We were offered yummy drinks and everyone was extremely kind, especially after one of my friends got seasick. The fish were amazing, and it was great to see the natural and artificial reefs, one spot even had little jellyfish! Overall, it was a fantastic experience :)
Julian was a wonderful tour guide and took very good care of us and made sure we seen beautiful fish and told us information about the coral reef. Carrie assisted and the Capitan Carolina made sure we had a perfect experience! We can’t recommend this company enough. This is our 11th time to Cozumel and it was very joyous. They got us back to our cruise ship safe and sound! Thank you
Great time! Julian was by far and away the greatest guide we could have asked for. Took time to explain things, but also show first hand how to do many things. Tremendous job!
Everyone was mesmerized by the experience. Snorkel guides were awesome and helped those who were not great swimmers have an unforgetable time!
We had a wonderful experience being taken out as a private party of eight on a 40 person boat for a snorkeling adventure. The three snorkeling spots were great, the staff and guides friendly and helpful, and there was plenty of time to enjoy it all. Price was great and the owner was very accommodating! We thought this was the highlight of our trip for the non-divers among us. Just don it!
⚠️ Is a personal long one ⚠️ This is what I call “feel the fear and do it any anyways” For my Birthday I decided to face a huge fear. I do not claim that I’m a swimmer because I dont do anything over 4.5ft. And yet I put myself in a situation I would never imagine possible. I went snorkeling in the carribean sea. 😬 The craziest part it’s that on my inspirational wall I have pics of snorkeling (the last pic) and the ocean and traveling and every single animal except one I saw and some how we took a very similar picture. We didn’t realize this until we started going through the pictures, when we returned. It’s No surprise to me because I truly believe the law of attraction it’s truly real and and I live by it. So in a full circle I faced a huge fear and witness manifestation at its finest. The greatest birthday gift I could receive. Thank u god, thank u universe, thank u babe Joshua Roman and thank u me. I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you @safetourscozumel you guys made me feel super safe and comfortable. Can’t wait to return.
Terrific!!!! Julian and B (not going to Massacre the poor guy’s name) were terrific! The owner of the tour met us in front of the hotel and they took us through to the boat while we waited for the other folks. They went ahead and took us out and motored around while we waited for the other couple too and we were able to look at the area through the glass bottom boat. They were super informative and we had a terrific time. The price for this tour is such a steal too! Due to Covid they provide new/sealed snorkel tubes and you get to take them home. Would highly recommend this tour!
Thank you to Veronica & all crew for an amazing 2 hours! The crew explained everything thoroughly & was very kind to our children. They had great patience with us as we were participating for the first time. We saw a giant sea turtle and many fish! The beer was ice cold & the location was very convenient. We had incredible underwater pictures taken.
Our guides (Julian[??]), Veronica, and the boat driver were friendly, informative, and very professional. They made our somewhat apprehensive kids (ages 8, 11, and 14) comfortable enough to enjoy their snorkeling experience over three reefs. The reefs' flora were just okay for March 2020. Still, would highly recommend this tour company and this particular excursion for a half-day cruise ship excursion. BTW, we made our own excursion arrangement and saved quite a bit compared to the cruise ship's.
We enjoyed the trip and we snorkelled for one and a half hours. The state of the coral was disappointing (sadly nothing that can be done about that) but we did seea lot of interesting fish. I had booked for my wife and me. There was only one other family on the trip. We were well looked after our guides were very knowledgeable and provided us with pletny of drinks. We felt this was a better experience than we would have had with the cruise ship excurcion and we had better value.
I wish I could rate it higher but I have to rate it on my experience. The crew were good and explained things well. My problem was that this was only my second time snorkeling (the first two days earlier) and there was no comparison. At one point I got widely separated from the others and began to be rather tired and almost panicked. I felt pretty much abandoned. There were only 4 of us snorkeling, my wife and I and a father and son. I kind of felt like the small boy was taking enough of the guide's attention to cause her to neglect others.
I took my children (age 7&8) snorkeling for the first time with Safe Tours and I couldn’t have been happier with the experience. My youngest is not a strong swimmer and was afraid initially but the crew did an amazing job to help her. The guide Veronica was great as were the staff on board. We saw some great fish and even had a photographer take some amazing pictures that we were able to purchase after the tour. I highly recommend booking with this group!
Can't see out the glass bottom and the snorkel equipment is bad if they even have enough. Find a better company.
group of 4 and 3 snorkeled. They enjoyed the snorkeling. I stayed back on the boat. The glass bottom part wasn’t what I thought but overall it was very nice and the crew was great!
Had a great time out on the reef. Lots of fish to see, and we had a very knowledgeable guide showing us what to look for.
We were a group of 8 traveling on a cruise. We all enjoyed the trip. I was disappointed that we really just saw 2 reefs. After the 2nd, which was our favorite, they had us swim to deeper water to the “3rd reef” there was very little to see and the water was too deep to make anything out. Other than that it was a great time.
I've been snorkeling all over the Caribbean and I'd rate this quite highly. It's a bit different in that you are deposited near the reef and the boat moves further away. The guide showed us a great variety of fish and coral. The current wasn't constantly pulling so it wasn't as tiring. The captain travelled around different areas so those not snorkeling could see variety in the glass bottom. I loved that the larger fish seemed to adopt me into their school by surrounding me while I swam. They were not 6" from any part of me and seemed to move along with me, and that was fun!! I love that the guides care about the reef and do what they can to protect it. This is a great excursion for a great value.
Just happened the wind was up and the water was rough on our day of snorkeling. Nonetheless the three men on our boat did a very good job!!! The water was clear, the fish were amazing and we had a very good time!
I can highly recommend the VIP Glass Bottom Boat and Snorkeling trip. They trip begins at the El CId Motel which is just a short walk from cruise pier. We were greeted by the owner and his daughter and directed to boat, Miguel and his crew were friendly and informative. I was very impressed that a crew member was in the water during the snorkeling portion of the trip equipped with a life saving ring. They put safety ahead of everything. Take the trip, you won't be disappointed.
Let me start by saying the location is a two minute walk from the royal cruise port located at the el cid hotel. We were quickly treated by a super friendly staff and was briefed when to meet at the dock. Once on board we were taken to three little reefs close to the cruise port. Now granted it was not the best reefs they have to offer in Cozumel but for 30 dollars plus a 5 dollar each marine park fee which included water, beer and soft drinks how can you complain. Royal snorkel package was 89 dollars and they were at the same places we were. I would highly recommend this trip if you are on a cruise ship. Can not give high enough praise.
All of the destinations were really cool and interesting. This was my first time snorkeling, but the crew member in charge was very thorough in his instructions. We had a lot of fun and I highly recommend this tour to both first timers and veteran snorkelers. The boat was nice and had plenty of room for everyone as they try to keep smaller, more intimate groups for their tours.
Boat takes you to three reefs, you get about an hour to snorkel around with the group. Drinks included. Afterwards you can relax on a private beach. Price is very affordable. Good alternative to cruise provided excursions.
The tour starts steps from the port where our cruise ship was docked. We were greeted by America and she told us everything we needed to know. The guys on the boat were informative and fun. We went to 3 reefs and saw SO MANY fish!!!! My 19 year old son was unable to go in the water, so he stayed on the boat and was able to see everything below through the glass bottom. He enjoyed a few beers and learned a lot about the reefs and the fish below. My daughter and I were in the water for about 2 hours. All of the reefs are near where the cruise ships dock so you only have a short trip to get in the water. The guides were so much fun and made people who were not comfortable in the water relax so they could enjoy the reef. I will do this again when we go back!!! Totally worth it.
We met at El Cid hotel, a few blocks from the port. We were loaded onto the glass bottom boat and headed to the first of 3 reefs. A guide was always in the water with us and he had a "life ring" in case anyone had trouble. Very friendly crew, saw lots of colorful fish.
Trip took about 3 and half hours. We went to three different reefs close to el cid. One reef was very nice. The others ok. Staff seemed to be in an hurry all the time. But they did attend to everyone.
Jammed packed boat- was 35 min late waiting to pack more folks in.We selected the English tour...little to no English. Drinks were cold and yummy. Very overpriced, would not recommend to anyone that was interested in trying out snorkeling
The staff couldn't have been any more fun and friendlier. The adventure was unforgettable. Thank you
The 3 reefs they showed us were beautiful. I was slightly disappointed since I did not read the description of the tour very well and thought we were going to Palancar and Columbia reefs, since I booked the tour on recommendation of people who did just that. Turned out they only go to those reefs on Sundays,,, So, make sure this is the tour you want to do. The reefs are just on the other side of the safety buoys in San Miguel. you might feel like you do not need to take a tour to see them, but it allows you to snorkel in safety in areas with high boat traffic. Obviously I cannot compare it to the aforementioned reefs, but we felt it was worth it. 2 members of our party was sick and could not make it. Safe Tours, who operate the tour for Viator, arranged a refund on my behalf. I am very happy with their service. Thank you Arturo Diaz.
Glass bottom a little decieving probably 4X2 area is glass although neat not like I have seen before. The Capt and instructors were friendly and helpful but whole time seemed rushed. The trip was fun and enjoyable and Arturo, the greeter, paid our taxi ride back to ferry since trip was cut a little short on time in water only $4 but hey made up for the tip that was requested.
Alles sehr sauber.
We went in the 12:00 hours. He was waiting for us. Both the head of the Enterprise and the others on the ship, super friendly, always speaking in two languages (English and Spanish) so that everyone understands the premises of Safety. Yeah, it gave the feeling of being in a bit of a hurry, the one organizing the dives. They offered mineral water all the time. In my case as it was my first time doing something like this, the manager offered to always be close to me with the Extra lifeline (the circular) swimming near me, so that I could use it if I felt any fear. Which I really appreciated. The driver of the boat, also worried about placing it in positions that could be seen nice corals, and fish for which they did not want to swim and stay on board... Back, an extra detail I didn't expect: I was offered to use the hotel facilities (beach, restrooms, swimming pool and toilets) where we started. In short, very happy with them. I'll recommend them.
Arturo is very professional and has a high level of service. Responds quickly to emails and guided us right. Good prices. We went on a two-hour snorkeling trip in three different reefs. Perfect with smaller children. We booked their website and then only had to pay 10 dollars per person in deposit, via PayPal. The rest was paid on site so was very serious. Arturo met us at the ferry from playa del carmen and then his assistant Sofia was there. It was a windy period but we were lucky during our day and the water was calm. Life jacket and snorkeling equipment were included. Best day of our vacation. 😀 A perfect day!!
From before hiring the Service until the end of the tour, the kindness with which they treat the customer is excellent; they answered all our doubts, great attention from the arrival at the hotel and being on the boat, courtesy of paying the taxi when arriving at the hotel. A great experience, highly recommended.
Nice boat with glass bottom so you can already see the reefs. We were with four people + guide on the boat so nice and quiet. A very friendly guide who could explain well in English. We looked at several reefs and were given plenty of time to do so. After snorkeling you always got a nice drink. Afterwards you could use the hotel's facilities (swimming pool and sun loungers and the bar).
