Our tour was cancelled so we didn't actually get to experience the trip - the reason provided was that there wasn't enough people to make the tour worthwhile for the tour company. The cancellation itself was fine with us but we received 0 notice of this cancellation and weren't told of the cancellation until we arrived at their location despite having booked the tour 2 days in advance. They said they knew that they would cancel it the day before but just did not inform us. We were told we could get a refund but we have to call their number. Their number was not connected so calling was impossible so I requested a refund through TripAdvisor. I still haven't received the refund. Not providing notice for cancellation demonstrates a complete lack of respect for our time. We were staying in playa del carmen so we had already paid for the ferry to cozumel as well as a taxi to the location, not to mention we had planned our day around the tour. They failed to inform us of the cancellation until we arrived at the location for the tour, despite having numerous opportunities to do so. Refunds resulting from a cancellation on the tour operators end should be automatic and not require us spending hours chasing down our money when the tour operator cancelled the tour for frivolous reasons.

Our guide was great. It was her that made this experience five stars. Food was very good. Bikes are easy to ride. Beach was beautiful and quiet. No people around.
This was an excellent excursion. My wife and friends had a great time. The guide was fantasy and knowledgeable. Food at the lunch beach stop was great. In some ways it was the best food on our trip. Our guide Gris was great. She connected with all of us, especially my wife and our friends and we were all grateful for the experience. I highly recommend this trip. We all wished we could have stayed longer.
Cancelled upon our arrival in the morning. Did not give a reason. Could rebook another date or get our money back, but did not help in finding a replacement tour to punta sur.
The e bike tour was very enjoyable. Our guide Chris was friendly and knowledgeable. Chris explained many of the areas we stopped to get a closer look. Our lunch stop was timely and the food was good. The bike equipment was in good condition and performed flawlessly.
We were on a Royal Caribbean cruise that made a stop in Cozumel, and after seeing the reviews of the excursions offered by the cruise ship, I decided to find something else - and reviews led me to the Punta Sur Eco Beach Park Electric Bike Tour! The meeting point was a short less than 10 minute walk from the port, easily found. We met Gris - our wonderful tour guide for the excursion. There were only two of us on this tour, so we drove with Gris in an air conditioned pickup truck to the park - the bikes were in the back. Gris supplied us with water and sunblock - I had forgotten to put it on my face back at the ship (!) - and off we went! 30 minutes later, we were at the park. After a quick tutorial on the electric bike, we were off to tour around the park. We stopped at a small Mayan ruin, an area where crocodiles live (and a climb up a treehouse of sorts), a lighthouse and then the beach, where we had lunch and then went in the water. Not going to lie - Cozumel is HOT - but the breeze from the bike was pleasant, and the water at the beach was just heavenly. We could have snorkeled, but neither of us felt like it. Gris was lovely and personable, and a wonderful guide. The food was delicious, but know if you buy an alcoholic beverage, you'll have to pay extra. Also, if they offer you guacamole, that is also extra, even though on the "what's included" section of the tour information it says a "guacamole entree" is included. It's not. A few folks did come to the table to try and get us to buy some of the trinkets they were selling, but they always asked Gris's permission first and when we declined, they left without complaint. A note - bring towels from the cruise ship...I forgot to bring some, and they do not provide any (it was in the directions for the excursion, I just forgot). Also, we got fairly dirty from the water-filled potholes on the dirt road (it had just rained) so don't wear anything white or new. The road you drive on with the ebike is riddled with potholes so the ride was bumpy at times, but super fun. I had never ridden on an ebike and am pretty risk averse and I had a blast. I highly recommend this tour if you want a combination of something active and something relaxing. We were a small group (2 plus the guide) but Gris told us that they keep the tours small, with no more than 15 in a group. Bathrooms - there is a bathroom at the meeting spot, which Gris suggested we use before we left. There is also a bathroom at the lighthouse (maybe an hour into the tour), and again at the beach club/restaurant. So if you have an active bladder and worry about proximity to a bathroom, there is really no need to be concerned!
The tour was canceled for weather. Which I completely understand and I tried calling to see if it was going to be canceled before showing up but was unable to get a hold of anyone. No one notified us that it was canceled- we had to take a taxi there - only to find out we couldn’t go, and then had to take a taxi back to the hotel. All out of pocket expenses. All of which could have been avoided if a simple text or phone call had been made. When I showed up for the tour, the guy asked if we wanted to reschedule. Why would we reschedule with a company that did not take the time to let their customer know we could not go on the tour??? Bad business practice! Also, I then had to call Viator to make sure they knew we were canceled for the refund. They told me that we had to wait to make sure that the supplier (beach bum) had in fact canceled. They did, but it seemed to me that beach bum didn’t want to cancel so they could still receive the tour money. I’m tired of the attempts to take advantage of you as a tourist. Be aware- not all tours are like this- but this one does seem to be a bit sketchy. I love bicycles- I was really looking forward to this tour and was prepared to ride in the rain with ponchos and appropriate footwear. I was ready to go rain or shine.
I booked through Viator (never again). They took payment without checking if the tour was going ahead. They cancelled without telling me., so I incurred costs getting to the operator site - only to be told it was cancelled. When the refund arrived I was $11 short due to changes in currency exchange since booking- The viator agent was arrogant: officious and defensive. All in all I will never use Viator ever again!
This is by far our favorite activity in Cozumel. We visit every year and always look forward to riding the E-bike. They are well maintained and can bring you around the southern loop in just a few hours. The eastern side has a dedicated street for bikes which makes the ride stress-free. The owners are super friendly and knowledgeable and we love talking with them every time we visit. If you are active and want to see the jungle, some wildlife, and the ocean, this is the place to go!
This E bike tour is on a Path that only has potholes and bumps. It is impossible to enjoy the ride. We are avid bike riders, and can handle some roads like this, but this was the entire ride. Also, the lunch that was included was horrible. After Placing our order for food, they came back 40 minutes later to tell us they had no fish for fish tacos. We never received any snorkeling equipment, and we think the tour operator just forgot this. We were 14 people and perhaps they could not accommodate the size of our party, however, they should’ve told us that. I would not recommend this tour.
Our tour was very good and the guide was great. My main complaint is there needs to be water bottle holders on the bikes. They don’t tell you that you have to carry everything you bring with you. And I think it’s expensive for what it is.
We went on the Punta Sur eco beach tour which I highly recommend. We have used Beach Bums several times, and have never been disappointed. The bikes are well maintained, the tour guides are knowledgeable and honestly cannot do enough for you to make it an enjoyable experience. Our tour in total was a little over 5 hours, which included lunch and snorkelling. While lunch is included watch the prices if you order more. I had a thoroughly enjoyable time with my daughter.
an excellent adventures and perfect start to the day. watching all the visitors in taxis, rent-a-jeeps, and big tour buses, i knew i made the right choice choosing an e-bike instead. Awesome ride; I only wish there was even more biking. the snorkeling swim was epic but the water wasn't as clear as usual unfortunately but visibility was still decent and fish were found. all the gear was provided and in good order. lunch at the beach was yummy but watch out for the $17us frozen margaritas. i should have paid more attention to the price and opted for a beer but i will say, the mango marg sooo hit the spot. lastly, this tour, with only a father and daughter joining myself and our guide made for a really chill, fun, personalized excursion. Caught in a rain storm just before getting back to our truck was a new experience and the approximate 5+ hours of our trip was a good value.
Great price. Was really worried about everything… But the trip. Was great and I will be back again.
Outstanding customer service…starting before we even arrived! Griselda responded to my initial inquiry and then accommodated us with a later start time per our request. Our tour was then cancelled due to rain and she was willing to work with Orbitz to get us our refund. We were about to make other plans for the day, and the rain stopped around noon. I called Griselda and asked if we could still do the tour and she said yes!! She and her team got the bikes loaded up and we headed to Punta Sur Eco Park for a fun filled day. We felt very safe and appreciated their recommendations with where to stop. There were 2 tour guides, one leading on bike and the other following in a van to take care of any needs we had including an occasional chain that would come loose. This was our first time using bikes and they were very easy and fun to ride. There were 8 of us (4 adults and 4 teen boys ages 15-18). If we had more time in Cozumel, we would have done another e bike tour on the East Coast. Would highly recommend this tour and Beach Bum Cozumel. Thank you!!
Our tour guide was Morris or Maurice. He was wonderful! The bikes were all in great shape, and we felt very safe the entire time. He watched us well and gave us good instruction throughout. We got a great feel for the area, both in neighborhood/ residential areas, and on the main strip. We ate at a lovely, off the beaten path taco shop and had amazing tacos and service. It was so nice to get away from all of the tourists and have a more authentic experience.
We had an amazing time! Johnny and Gris were so nice and even with a small hiccup with the truck, they got us off and running as quickly as possible! Lunch was a nice stop and we appreciated the waters provided since it was such a hot day -- a great way to spend several hours and cruise on a fun bike to see the beautiful ocean in a safe way :)
The views were so beautiful everywhere we went!! I liked that we could stop anywhere along the way to take in the views or to take pictures. Milton and Joni were knowledgeable and very accommodating. My 12 year old daughter and I felt well taken care of and safe. The e-bikes are easy to use, you can peddle less or more according to your physical fitness level. I was glad to have the electricity to help ;) Most of the trip we were out in the sun. If you are sun sensitive make sure to bring sun screen and ideally long sleeves. The beach we went to had a shaded area to sit in and the most beautiful views! Snorkeling was amazing and the food was fresh and delicious. I felt much more connected to the island on the bike than I did in a car. I’d love to do it again! Thanks Joni and Milton!
This was an AMAZING excursion! Best ever! It was a special day for myself and my 10 year old who just met the requirements and does bmx racing, so thankfully had the bike skill needed! (Important for kids…these are adult sized bikes, of course)… Anyway, Milton was our guide and he was fantastic! Personable, helpful, kind, knowledgeable, more than 5 stars! Nothing fell short here… just don’t forget your sunscreen!
We cycled on electric bikes for about 30 km along the stunning south coast on a trail dedicated to bikes. We were alongside the ocean the entire time. It was a fantastic experience! We toured a lighthouse museum and climbed to the top of an operating lighthouse. We enjoyed gorgeous views of the mangrove swamp from the peak of a lookout tower. Within this beautiful eco park are Mayan ruins. Lunch was delicious! Be sure to try the hibiscus tea. Gracias to our guide, Milton, who was great and so attentive to safety. Gris, the office manager, is wonderful and fun. We are so impressed with the staff at Beach Bum. They are kind, caring and very safety conscious. We highly recommend this tour!
Beach Bum Cozumel provided an excellent Pedego electric bike and their customer service was great. Gris set me up with a perfect bike and explained all features and provide me her phone number in case something happened, she arrange for a pickup. I never had to worry about running out of electricity. I rode 45 miles and toured the south island myself on roads lightly traveled because cars are limited in vast stretches going southward. I had a great time and didn't need the full tour. I felt completely safe and highly recommend an electric bike even over a gas scooter. Enjoy!
Pedro was awesome! He was very informative and made our day fun! Punts Sur is a must see in Cozumel! We’d never been on an e-bike, what a blast! West coast beaches are beautiful! Highly recommend and will do again next time!!
Wow! What a great excursion on the electric bikes from Beach Bum Cozumel! Luis and Gris did an exceptional job. They were very responsive to my questions prior to the excursion (via messenger). They were ready for us when we arrived. We asked for a private bike tour in Punta Sur and along the east coast of the island. Beautiful island! They delivered a wonderful experience. I highly recommend any of their E-bike tours. Their bikes work great. You are in good hands with Beach Bum Cozumel!
Gris was an amazing island guide on our 3+ hour e-bike ride along the coast of the western side of the island. The bikes are effortless to ride allowing you to focus on the sights and preserve your energy for a snorkel and amazingly tasty lunch.
We had a wonderful time with Sandy as our guide. We never felt rushed and enjoyed the food and snorkeling.
We were so pleased with our bike tour of Punta Sur with Beach Bum. Their office is just a short walk from the RCL cruise terminal and the instructions they provided were easy to follow. Once we got checked in, it was a short wait for the van, and then we headed out to the southern part of the island to start our tour. Josue, our guide, did a great job explaining the features of the e-bikes. The road through the park is very flat and smooth so it was a very easy ride. We made stops at the lagoon, the lighthouse, and a beach club. We had almost 2 hours at the beach club which was unexpected, but very enjoyable. There was a red flag up when we were there, so we could not swim or snorkel, but it was still great to wade in the water and rest in the hammocks. If we are ever in Cozumel again, we will definitely want to include a Beach Bum e-bike tour into our day.
Great time and customer service. They made everything easy. I will definitely use them again. Everyone spoke English
Today we went last minute on electric bikes to Punta Sur. I contacted Beach Bum Cozumel a day before and they replied very fast. Within an hour my tour was set up and confirmed. From the moment we arrived till the moment we came back, the service was absolutely great. As I'm from Holland, a bike country, I didn't have high expectations from a bike excursion. But WOW! I'm amazed by how great this experience was, I mean really amazing. You go on an electric bike with guide through the jungle, among the ocean. In between you have several stops to watch crocodiles, jungle, beaches, to climb the light house and in the end a great and refreshing stop to snorkel and eat and drink something. They provide helmets and safety jackets. As well we got a bottle of water per person. Our guide was very informative, but also gave us the space to explore by ourselves. If you love nature and adventures, this is definitely a great opportunity to explore Punta Sur! Together with my family I had a perfect day thanks to Beach Bum Cozumel. Thank you!
We had the most fantastic time thanks to our guardian angel tour guide, Gabriel. He wonderfully took his time with us as we explored some really neat parts of the off the beaten path of Cozumel. He was especially patient with our son who seemed a bit nervous in the city to ride, but Gabriel put him at ease. Gabriel has a wealth of knowledge that added to the experience and made you want to learn more about the Mayan culture. An easy process to take a tour with this company and you will feel at ease being in trusted hands (especially if it’s Gabriel)! This tour is a must do!! The best 50th birthday a girl could want!!!
Our tour with Fernado was a highlight of our cruise. He was prepared, thoughtful, patient with kids and grown ups alike, and incredibly alert and careful with our group. Our bike ride was a blast; if you've not ridden one of these electric bikes you need to do so soon. He was also a wonderful snorkel trip leader, keeping watch over our swimmers both young and old to make sure we were safe and having fun. HIghly recommend this tour if you're ever on Cozumel!

The itinerary for this tour was very good: Punta Sur is one of the most beautiful places in the Caribbean, and riding the electric bikes was a blast. However this tour was run by a couple of 20 something guys who have no concept or understanding of customer service. We took a hike into the Cozumel scrub to see a cenote. The hike was about 25 min in, 25 min out. Do you think they could have warned us to bring water? We from the north are not used to the hot sun. My husband and I came out dehydrated and not feeling well. The ride to Punta Sur in the back of their van with the bikes was awful 30 minutes from their offices each way down to Punta Sur. 3 adults on a bench seat that only went 3/4 of the way across--the windows didn't open and bike handles were sticking us in the back of the head. The guide and his driver were quite comfortable in the front and didn't even bother to look back at us to see how we were doing. I could only recommend this tour to others if they are willing to over look terrible customer service. The sites they are offering are worthwhile.

My wife was not feeling well so she had to stay on the ship. Solo and with the desire to explore and exercise, I headed to Beach Bum (two blocks from our pier) and rented an electric bike (I also bought 2 liters of bottled water at the grocery store next door). I was able to ride around the whole island of Cozumel in 4 hours, including a beach stop and dive at Punta Sur. I used the power assist in Low mode the whole time, so the battery would last for the whole 75Km (about 50 miles) and it did! This is the best way to experience Cozumel! The rental included a helmet, chain and lock, and a front bag to put the water bottles. The bike was in good condition, and the electric motor was AWESOME!!
We recently came back from our trip to Cozumel and found the staff at Beach Bum to be the Best !! Amid all the high pressure to book tours, they were relatively low key and this made them more appealing. We went on the electric bike tour, did some snorkeling and actually booked a boat tour for a few days later since we were so enthralled with our first experience. Unfortunately a member of our party wasn't feeling well and we had to cancel our boat trip, but we will do it and the bike trip again when we return next year. Our son and wife are currently in Cancun and we told them it was well worth the ferry ride to go to Beach Bum in Cozumel. The staff is outstanding and you feel safe and welcomed in their company. Fernando was the best - we can't wait till next year to visit our new friends at Beach Bum again.
We signed up for the electric bike tour of Punta Sur Eco Park to do during our stop in Cozumel off a cruise. I had a few questions I emailed to the shop beforehand, and they were answered immediately. Once we arrived, check in was easy and Fernando our guide starting fitting my 11-year-old son for a bike. He gave us all helmets and big bottles of cold water to take with us, and we were off to the park. It was a short car ride, and we were getting on our bikes in no time. The bikes themselves are a bit heavy, but super easy to ride and learn the electric system on. Fernando gave us a good overview, told us to use the bells to signal him if we needed anything, and off we went into the park. We saw SO much - the marsh, the ruins, the lighthouse, the sea turtle nests, and so many amazing views of the beaches and ocean. (No crocodiles out and about, but no big deal!) The stop at the beach club for snorkeling was great. Fernando ended up bringing my son and husband back to the beach to get a kayak and paddle them out farther to see more fish. I stayed behind for a little swimming and beach combing. We had a great lunch accompanied by some local wildlife visitor hoping for snacks - four little raccoons and a coati. Then we hopped back on the bikes for the fun ride back to the park entrance. Such a great day! We can't thank Fernando enough for everything he did to make it happen.

Loved the trip. It was a perfect way to see Punta Sur. The tour guides and equipment were top notch.

Although there were only two of us, the tour took place with Gris. The e-bikes were loaded on a pickup truck and we drove about 25 kilometers to the park "Parque Ecologio". In the park we visited several sights: a lagoon with crocodiles, the lighthouse and a beach club. The tour was very well organized and we got a lot of information. The wheels were great. Gris was a great guide. We've seen a lot we couldn't have found on our own.
Excellent attention, explanation, and very good advice. The employees are very friendly. Electric bikes are very good. The journey is worth it. Wear plenty of sunscreen
