Overall excursion was fun and good. Fernando provided an excellent tour where we got to visit a family owned tequila company that provided a good tour then took some pictures of the ocean, saw some historical caves and ruins with a lot of good history provided from Fernando and had lunch at el Mirador who provided delicious fajitas and pina coladas. Overall, the tour was amazing.

Itinerary
Once you arrive, you will be greeted by the ranch family, and learn about Mexico's most famous beverage, Tequila! Experience the flavors, colors and aromas of Tequila and learn about its distillation process. Make sure to pay a visit to the local animals on site. Cows, chickens, sheep and more.
Stop and see one of the most beautiful virgin beaches on the island. Perfect area to have a walk in the soft sand, get your feet wet and take lots of pictures.
The adventure continues on to Playa San Martin. This big sandy beach is a hotspot for turtle nests. Here our guide will talk a little about the turtle season and point out the active or previously active nests. Walk along this picturesque beach and along the crystal blue waters and take a photo opportunity. You can also find an icy cold hand made beverage in the Tiki style bar right across the street.
Here is the main atraction of our tour. Drive along a beautiful off road trail where we will navigate the vast Jungle, passing by an allagator swamp, exploring caves and walking along the path of the Mayas as we check out the lost Mayan Ruins. You can even cool off and take a dip in the Buenavista pool!
Hop back in your vehicle and lets visit the last of the east side virgin beaches, El Mirador. Here there are many artisanal huts where you can find a large variety of handmade goodies. Take the opportunity to grab something unique as a souvenir. Then climb to the top of the " El Mirador" which means the lookout in Spanish, and you will be able to do exactly that. Look out with a view over the incredible ocean, shoreline and jungle and you stand on top of an ancient rock formation. Take a picture with the Mexican flag flying in the sea breeze. Here we will provide you with an oceanfront lunch as you dig your toes in the sand, listen to the gentle waves crashing and taste authentic mexican cuisine.

Private tour of the caves and more. Pick up was easy. Katy was waiting for us. Vehicle was very clean and comfortable and cold A/C. She wanted to know what we were most interested in seeing that day. She had drinks to keep us cool. Her kindness and knowledge of her city was memorable. We had a great lunch in a beach restaurant with a view. I personally loved exploring the caves in the jungle. She was able to point out flora and fauna. If you are on the fence don’t be. Ask for Katy you will not be disappointed.
I booked this tour directly as I wanted to take my 88 year old mother and there was NOT ONE excursion she could take with Royal Caribbean due to her age!! Ridiculous! This tour was PERFECT! We had a great time and Sergio was an awesome guide. It was literally just me, my mom and Sergio. A fantastic tour that was catered to what we pretty much wanted timing wise. We had tequila tasting, and saw caves, bats, huge termite nests and beautiful beachs. Then topped it off with a wonderful lunch at the Money Bar. If you love civeche, do it, get the civeche. It was excellent!! I would easily make the choice and do this excursion again. Thanks Sergio!!
Fernando was the best guide, and he made our experience so memorable. This felt like more than a tour because of how personal it was. I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
A really good day out exploring Cozumel with Fernando. We had a really interesting time learning about the history of the island and trying the local tequila. Fernando was super knowledgeable and good fun. I would recommend this tour.
This was absolutely perfect. After being on a crowded ship, this private tour of a family owned Tequila ranch, relatively undisturbed Myan caves, and a wonderful authentic Mexican lunch at a locally owned/operated restaurant on the beach was just what we needed! Ricardo was a wealth of information and it really felt like we were being shown around by an old friend. It was a 5 hour tour in all so we were back to the ship on plenty of time without feeling rushed, yet we really felt like we got to see sooo much!
Great experience in Cozumel riding on the Jeep tour with Ricardo. He was great! We stopped at Rancho Alejandra and learned about the tequila making process while sampling the various flavors. Stopped at a few nice beaches then into the jungle for a tour of Mayan ruins and caves. We topped it off with an authentic Mexican lunch. This tour is not offered as a ship excursion, and it definitely was an experience off the beaten path. Thanks Ricardo!
This is a wonderful excursion that goes to many out of the way places that you wouldn't normally see. We highly recommend it! Our tour guide was fantastic!
Guide was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of information. The tour was flexible around what we enjoyed doing and every element was as expected or better.
Sergio is a great tour guide and very knowledgeable about Cozumel. He shared his passion for his home with us and was a great travel companion for our trip. Thanks, Sergio!
Ricardo was fabulous! Showed up early and explained our day of adventures. He was very informative about the island and culture. I fee like we got a tour of hidden treasures exploring the caves used by the Mayan. We had a great stop to talk about the turtle laying areas and how important these sites are. Ricardo has first hand experience as a volunteer and was able to provide us with more information than just the information boards at the lookout. Our lunch was simple but delicious. The green sauce for the quesadillas was amazing. Highly recommend this trip off the beaten path.
We had an excellent experience with our guide Jordan! He completely tailored the day to us by giving us the flexibility to spend as much or as little time as we wanted exploring each stop. Jordan was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly proud of Cozumel. He shared interesting details about the caves, cenotes and culture, and he happily answered all of our questions. He also gave us great recommendations for other things to do during our stay. The tour itself was beautiful and the Mexican lunch was so good. Highly recommend this tour and Jordan for anyone who wants a personalized way to explore Cozumel.
The picture show that there is water in the caves that you can swim in, but there isn’t they’re dry. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the island and knew a lot of history.
We took a wonderful private tour of Cozumel with our guide Katy in a jeep. We were able to see some beautiful views of the beach , then had a tequila education and tasting. Afterwards we drove through the jungle to the sea and hiked up a coral and rock hill for some more beautiful views of the water. We quenched our thirst with a pina colada and a mojito- bouts delicious and crafted from fresh ingredients right on the beach. We then drove a few miles to see ancient caves created ages ago with some Mayan artifacts inside. Our next stop was an authentic Mexican lunch . Everything was delicious and entertaining.
This tour got us out of the City over to the rustic East side of the Island. A part of Cozumel that we had never seen before. Way more natural beauty on the east side. The cave tour was very interesting. And we got to experience some local wildlife on the Ranch. We made an unscheduled stop to a Cenote that is not a the normal tourist stop. Jeep was in good condition with working A/C. Ricardo was a great, knowledgeable guid. Got back to the ship in plenty of time before departure.
So happy we booked this tour in Cozumel. Fernando was our tour guide. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and pleasant!! Our day was unhurried and flexible. Fernando accommodated us!! You come as a guest, and leave as an Amigo!!
Sergio, our incredible guide, took us on an unforgettable adventure across Cozumel. We wandered through mystical Mayan ruins, explored hidden caves deep in the lush jungle, and savored a delicious lunch on a breathtaking, picture-perfect beach. The scenery was absolutely stunning, and the food was authentic—just the way it should be. Sergio’s knowledge was impressive; he answered every question with ease and brought history to life with captivating stories that made the experience truly magical.
Katy was a great tour guide making sure that we were comfortable driving and what to expect. The stops to visit the different cave locations were awesome and included background into the different sites, local experience and Mayan history/culture. The lunch location worked out great with the ability to walk along the beach area, take pictures and visit shops for gifts as needed. For families with both younger and older kids joining, this is the perfect tour and recommend Katy highly if get lucky enough to have her as a tour guide for the visit!
This was an amazing experience. Our guide and driver Fernando was fabulous! It was so personalized and he really did the most wonderful job! The tour was great to begin with but he made it just perfect. My whole family loved it! Thank you !!
What a great day we had with Fernando! Not only he has shown us all the beautiful places on Cozumel, but he also introduced us to lives of people on this amazing island! Highly recommended!!! Daniela&Amalia&Matyas
This tour was absolutely amazing. I was on holiday with my elderly mother, who is still quite active but has knee issues that make long hikes difficult. Ricardo was incredibly patient, thoughtful, and kind throughout the entire experience. He made sure my mom was always comfortable while giving us plenty of time to truly take in the stunning nature and wildlife around us. Ricardo is also extremely knowledgeable. He shared fascinating history and was happy to answer our questions about the plants, ocean, and local wildlife, which made the experience even more special. We saw so many beautiful things that we never would have experienced if we had stayed at the resort or skipped booking this tour. I highly recommend this tour if you want to see a peaceful, beautiful, and more authentic side of the island.
We have been to Cozumel many times and wanted to try something new. Fernando was our guide, and he met us on time at the meeting location. He did offer me to drive, but was fine with him driving. We have done tequilla tasting, and Fernando offered to take us to Chocolate tasting and we paid 5 dollars per person to the place he took us. After that we saw bee and honey signs so we asked him to stop. We learned about the stingerless bee. We made a short photo stop at a beach shared below. After that we went to the private ranch where the caves were. Fernando shared what he believed the caves were used for. We then stopped for an authentic beach lunch and drinks that was included. Don’t forget to tip your server. We were offered snorkeling if we wanted, but be have snorkeled here before and the weather was moving in. Fernando then dropped us off and we did some shopping. We would do this again, and we truly believe that Fernando made the experience better.
We had a great tour with Jordan. He was knowledgeable and entertaining. Each stop was filled with fun history. There is some walking on uneven paths. The air conditioned jeep included beverages, so there was plenty of relief from the sun. I would still recommend sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses! Would recommend to anyone visiting Cozumel!
We had an amazing day in Cozumel, all thanks to Sergio, our fantastic guide. He was incredibly attentive, made sure we were well taken care of with drinks, and was genuinely kind and personable. Sergio shared fascinating insights about Mayan culture, which made the experience even more special. If you’re looking for a unique day tour that offers something different from the standard cruise ship excursions, we highly recommend booking with this company. Kevin was also very easy to reach via WhatsApp during the booking process, making it simple to coordinate the pick-up location.
The tour was very fun and didn't requite much physical labor. The lunch was delicious and our tour guide was wonderful!!
Sergio is the best! Very catering, funny, informative and hospitable! We did so many things this trip that we wouldn't have thought to do on our own. Only booking with him from now on! Thank you so much!
Highly recommend. We were able to see all over the island of Cozumel, learn history, culture and eat authentic Mexican food. Our guide was great, very informative and entertaining.
We had an amazing day with Jordan Artero. He was courteous, knowledgeable and helpful and took us all over the island. He knew all about the history and customs of the indigenous peoples. It was well worth the time!
Ricardo was our guide. I was traveling with my mom who has hard time traveling due to the health condition, but she really wanted to see pieces of Mayan history and culture with her own eyes. Ricardo was very accommodating and my mom had a blast visiting these sacred places. Thank you!
We had an amazing day with Ricardo! We have seen all the popular spots in Cozumel and we were looking for something more “local” without the crowds - this tour was exactly that! Ricardo was so knowledgeable and we never felt rushed. This was a great tour and we will def come back to use Jeep Riders again.
We went on the Tequila/Beach/Ruins/lunch excursion today and it was so much fun! Sergio was our guide and he was great! He was so friendly and knowledgeable about everything. He took us to some really wonderful, off the beaten track places. And our lunch was phenomenal! The whole day felt like a truly customized experience thanks to Sergio’s guidance. I truly cannot recommend this tour and Sergio enough! You will not be disappointed!!
Ricardo took us to the best, non touristy, locations. Gave our family an authentic day in Cozumel. Thank you for an amazing day.
Sergio was the best guide! He spent the day taking us to the places we wanted to visit (Mayan ruins, Punta sur) and so much more. We learned so much and had a great time. Highly recommend this tour with Sergio!
Jordan was a wonderful tour guide. He was kind and offered to take us to extra stops because we had time left on the tour. The tequila tasting guides were fantastic too and the lunch was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. We’re very happy we chose this excursion.
Jordan was an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable & did a great job. The would highly recommend him. The customer service with Viator was very good also.
We have been to Cozumel many times but we learned a ton of history from Ricardo and he showed us places we have never seen. Ricardo is very flexible and we customize your tour . Definitely recommend this tour and Ricardo
This excursion was a last minute booking on our way to the ship. Absolutely appreciate Jordan's knowledge and patience to take us to all the "off the beaten path" spots to see some real history. We visited the lighthouse, a few shops, some Mayan ruins and tasted some small batch tequila. That seafood soup on the side of the road was out of this world, and I'm a chef. Thoroughly impressed with a simple and delicious lunch. If this is something you're considering, book it. Value for money, hands down.
We have never done any type of "excursion " or tour before so we did not know what to expect. We had our own personal guide, Jordan, who was truly amazing. He let us customize what we wanted to see. He was super knowledgeable but also had an easy going nature to him. We had a great time at the ranch where our food was prepared for us. Super fun atmosphere, lots of laugher as we cracked jokes with our "chefs". Jordan is the best. I recommend this tour to anyone who wants something personal, private, and off the beaten path. As requests no matter how strange were met way above expectations. Example, my husband really wanted a snack and had a hankering for Mexican seafood soup. Jordan was like, I know just the place! Best seafood my husband ever had. Honestly not expensive, cheaper than the ship ran excursions.
Good way to see Cozumel! Ricardo was great and can customize the tour for you. We have 3 kids, 14/12/8 and they were entertained by the caves and Senota.
Sergio was our guide, and he was fantastic! Fun and very informative of the Cozumel culture and Mayan history. My husband and I enjoyed the exclusivity of this tour and being able to get off the beaten path. We highly recommend this tour (and guide), and we will absolutely do tours with this company again when we return to Cozumel.
We had a wonderful trip with Jordan. He was fun and knowledgeable about the history of the island. The jeep was in good condition and clean. He had great ideas for places to explore and we recommend this activity to everyone.
Ricardo picked us up promptly from our place in Cozumel. He started by explaining the route we were going to take and also asked if there was anything specific we wanted to see or do. He made it so the experience was customizable and personal. Ricardo also is a photographer and offered to take pictures of my boyfriend and I! Such an amazing experience!
Great day, Ricardo was an awesome guide. We had every place we visit, except the main ruins, to ourselves, which elevated the experience. It was awesome to go places without tourists!
On our final day of our trip to Cozumel we signed up for the Private Caves and Ruins Tour, we met up with Ricardo (super friendly and east going) we got in our jeeps and started the tour. With started with a Tequila tasting, then Mayan Ruins, on to caves on private land (as we passed along the coast line to get there), had homey lunch which was delicious, then to a mojito factory on the shore before we headed back to where we started. We had a wonderful day! Packed with so much to do and time never felt rushed. Ricardo was wonderful with all of us knowledge of what we saw!
One of the best excursions ever! Our guide Ricardo, was PERFECT!! He wisely waited for us to get out of the boat. He showed us around a good part of the island, several stops, several breathtaking views. The sublime sea. Caves and caves, wow! He explained everything , I learned a lot with this guide. He’s passionate, it shows , it feels and it’s very pleasant. His eyes shone as soon as he talked about sea turtles, wildlife. Lunch was delicious. Ricardo, many thanks for an unforgettable day.
The private cave and ruin exploration tour in Cozumel was simply perfect. There wasn’t a single moment of boredom—everything was beautifully organized, interesting and full of amazing experiences. Our guide John was certainly one of the best guides I’ve ever had: in addition to sharing a lot of fascinating information about the local history and culture, he made the tour even more special singing for us, and the truth does very well. The Mexican lunch was also delicious and completed a truly unforgettable experience. You can tell when someone works with passion and wants visitors to take unique memories. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cozumel — it’s totally worth it and I would repeat without thinking.
Fernando, a young, local family man told us a lot about life on Cozumel and showed us wonderful places. It started with a tequilla tasting at a small and very sympathetic family business, then we continued to the east of the island to the wonderful beaches where we could also observe crocodiles. The highlight was the caves of the Mayans where he could really tell us a lot about their lives. The whole thing was in a private area in the jungle where we were also far from other mass tourists. Fernando himself has a lot of interest and therefore a lot of knowledge of this ancient culture. Last but not least, we were still eating tacos and fajita where we could talk nicely and exchange experiences. Overall, a very successful day we would book again at any time.
We booked at the last minute, the night before because it indexed due to unstable forecasts. In the end, through GetYourGuide we found the right choice for us! We were contacted immediately by Kevin, the agency's coordinator, to give us details about the following day. In the morning we were greeted by our guide and driver, Sergio, who made this experience special and unforgettable! Thanks to his professionalism and passion he made us live a day that exceeded expectations. Sergio and his knowledge of the Mayan world made us relive that historical period! In addition, he took us to eat at a local seaside, commercial but really great (tacos and burritos were delicious). Highly recommended tour! Francesco Catturani
It is an excellent tour! Our guide Jordan explained everything to us very well, took photos and took us to beautiful places, and the lunch was spectacular!! Authentic Mexican flavors are a delight, without a doubt highly recommended, the tour is private only for the number of people you reserve, which makes the experience more personal and better.
