Half-day Electric Bike Tour Of Cozumel's East Side With Lunch

There was no communication from vendor and we showed up at meeting point and were stood up. We waited an hour. Called the number given. Talked to nearby shop operators who indicated she does this often. Most certainly would never ever book again. I'm sure I'll get my money back but not for the taxi and all the wasted time. 😡

We had a wonderful day, and our tour guide was excellent! The bikes are easy to use and the tour is beautiful!

We had a wonderful morning biking along the east coast of Cozumel. Gris was our guide and had everything ready when we arrived, was careful with us as we started, and provided lots of interesting information about the island and its people. I highly recommend taking a tour with her! We stopped for lunch in the middle our trip at a lovely outdoor beach club. Food was delicious and the timing was perfect! I highly recommend taking this tour.

Enjoyable, scenic e-bike ride on the largely uninhabited portion of Cozumel island. Lunch at a seaside restaurant was great. Our guide, Gris, was terrific and easy to talk with.

This was an excellent experience. It is very easy to find from the cruise terminal. Quick 10 minute walk. We had a scenic ride along coastline. Freddie was our guide. He fitted us with bikes and helmets and instructed us on how to use. After a short drive in air conditioned car we were at road along east coast only for bikes. We made a stop or two and Freddie was attentive. Nice lunch at a beach stop. Freddie tailored ride to our needs. It was SO SO fun. Please consider this activity, you wont be disappointed.

This e bike tour along the east coast of Cozumel is amazing!! It is one of do the reasons we chose Cozumel as our holiday destination. We first did this tour 3 years ago. As was the case last time, our tour guide, Gris, was amazing!! She is fun and friendly, yet professional. She is attentive to safety. The scenery is incredible! You ride alongside the ocean on a trail reserved for bicycles. The trail is lined with lush bushes on both sides. After 3 hours of riding, enjoy a Mexican lunch.

My family has done bike tours with Beach Bum several times. This time I brought a friend & it was my second time doing the East coast and it was fantastic! The area is absolutely gorgeous! Freddy was our tour guide and he was amazing! He was informative about the area, was helpful getting the bike adjusted, he was funny and just an all around great guy! Thank you Freddy for a memorable day! I look forward to seeing you again in the future!

Our guide, “Gris”, was fantastic—she was not only patient but also provided clear and helpful instructions for riding our bikes. We explored the vibrant downtown area of Cozumel before arriving at our taco destination. We had an opportunity to go shopping and even had a tequila tasting. The tacos were absolutely delicious, and Gris took the time to explain the various options available to us. Many fellow travelers remarked that Gris offered the best tour of their vacation and I agree! She truly left us with a wonderful impression of Cozumel. One piece of advice while shopping, bargain for what you want. The prices are sharply reduce if you walk away from the second and third offer. Also please be aware of exchange rate. One vendor agreed to a lower price but recaptured the discount by charging a higher exchange rate. Otherwise, I would definitely return for another adventure!

Grice was our guide and was knowledgeable and helpful. Would recommend if you are looking to see the other side of the island. It's very quiet and scenic.

My husband and I did this on a recent trip to Cozumel. We are older and not in top shape but our guide Chris was very patient and understanding. The bikes worked great. There were enough stops to stretch, look around, take pictures and get hydrated. The lunch fajitas and homemade guacamole were delicious. The views were spectular. Definitely a must do in Cozumel.

We recently visited the island as a stop on our cruise. We wanted to do a smaller scale tour that would allow us to see some of the island. It ended up being just the 3 of us with our guide Chris. He shared interesting info about the island and local life. The ride was on a divided trail separate from the road and very quiet so we felt safe the whole time. The trail is paved and flat so even less experienced riders would be able to easily do this tour. We stopped for lunch at a fantastic outdoor restaurant for some delicious fajitas and a drink. The food was excellent and we even got to try some local beer. Overall the tour ran very smoothly and we enjoyed ourselves very much.

What a great time. we met at their shop a little before 9:00 AM and they took us to the east side of the island for a wonderful bike ride. The lunch stop was good with a choice of beef, chicken or fish fajitas. The bike ran well, and our guide did a great job!

We really enjoyed this tour. The e-bikes were well maintained and easy to ride. We drove about 15 minutes to a bike path and rode about 18 miles with our guide, Griza. We stopped at an outdoor restaurant and enjoyed fajitas. We were hoping to swim there, but the day we went the surf was too strong. I highly recommend this tour if you want to avoid crowds, see great views and get some exercise.

We totally loved Johnny our tour guide. He was courteous, personable and professional with a lot of local knowledge. We had lunch at the turn around sport and it was fantastic. We had the steak fajitas even the rice here was excellent.

The employees were very nice, and especially helpful after we booked a similar tour with what turned out to be a scam. The staff at Beach Bum were empathetic and accommodating. The tour itself was great, although the day was quite hot. The lunch was excellent and so refreshing! Bring your sunscreen!!!

We enjoyed to bike ride. it was warm and make sure you wear sunscreen. Lunch was good. Our guide was friendly and nice. The bikes worked well. Next time, I think I will try the E-bike tour of Punta Sur.

Johnny the guide was awesome. Got some great pictures. Playa Punta Morena was a great spot for lunch. Very beautiful place and the food was really good. I recommend the fish fajitas.

This was the second time we have done this tour. It’s a great way to ride on uncrowded roads with some amazing ocean views and visit a few places on the East side. Johny was great with taking care of the bikes and showing us the sights. Will definitely try another tour or rent some bikes here when we return.

Easy and safe ride on bike path. Good equipment and Jony, our guide was very helpful with novice e-bike riders. Good way to spend the day if your not a diver.

DO NOT BOOK WITH BEACH BUM COZUMEL! My husband and I booked the half day e-bike tour of East Side with lunch for Wednesday 2/28 while in Cozumel on a cruise. We received a text the day before advising to print voucher, which we already had with us. We arrived early and were told by the gentleman who worked that that the tour was cancelled due to bike races occurring that day. We were disappointed but tried to be understanding. As we walked thru town and spoke with other locals we came to find out there were no bike races that day, and we rented a jeep which we drove along the same route we would have biked on and there were absolutely no races that day. This tour company lies and is not reputable. Please do not make the mistake we did, take your time and money somewhere else!!!

Really enjoyed this tour. In the end, it was like a private tour, because nobody else had booked for that day. Our guide, Milton, was great. Lunch was served a nice location - nothing too fancy but really enjoyable, and it made a nice break in the ride. Scenery is fantastic. Lots of iguanas. Also saw crocodiles at one of our stops. Would have given it 5 stars, but the bikes need some work. One of our bikes was in serious need of some tender love and care - very rusty chain, very loose chain / poorly adjusted derailleur (which prevented shifting into a harder gear), and a partially detached saddle. It was rideable, but there was a lot of time spent spinning at high cadence. The other bike was in better shape, but the brakes needed work (loud squealing) and there was something weird going on with the sensors supporting the e-capabilities. I am not an e-bike expert, but it seemed to be more than an issue of unfamiliarity.

The East side beach bike riding with Milton was the best excursion my wife and I have ever done! And we’ve been on over 30 cruises and done over 100 excursions. It was just gorgeous, scenic, beautiful, fun bike riding on great bikes. I wanted a nice workout and got it … and my wife just wanted to cruise and she could do that on the electric bike.

Our guide was Milton. He made our trip so enjoyable! He was kind positive, helpful, considerate. He showed us how to use the bikes, which we had never done before, and made it very safe and easy for us. We had a great paced trip up and back enjoying the outstanding scenery. Good lunch and a bit of shopping at the turn around point. Highly recommend this tour!

The views were stunning! Our guide Milton was very personable and very knowledgeable. The bikes were easy to ride and really fun. We come to Cozumel every year but this was the first time we’ve done this tour. We had a little rain but that just added to the adventure. Will definitely do this tour each time we visit Cozumel.

Milton did a great job on this tour! He was very informative about the Cozumel culture and Island. The bike path on that side of the island was excellent! It goes along the ocean so you have an awesome view all the time. The equipment was good too!

This e-bike tour was the highlight of our cruise. It was such a beautiful day with very little traffic on that side of the island. Our guide Johnny was also just great!

We had a terrific time! Our guide, Milton, was excellent. Very friendly and professional. He really looked out for our safety the whole time and is very knowledgeable of the area and sights to see. The scenery was beautiful and the bikes worked great. Highly recommend!

Jonny was an excellent guide. He tailored the ride for us specifically, asking about how long we wanted to stay at each stop, the pace of the ride, etc. We were provided with cold bottled water and a lovely lunch at a beachside tiki restaurant, complete with a few shops and live music. The food was great, especially the Hibiscus tea. Their office and meeting point is an easy walk from the cruise port.

Good trip overall. Bikes worked well but poor to zero information from guide. They factor in a stop for souvenirs en route to restaurant so when we declined the stop the trip fell way short of expected time. Couldn’t believe we were at destination . Asked to ride back again rather than the guides plan to get truck and have us go back in that. He agreed. Unfortunately his bike lost power on way back so had that to deal with! Otherwise a nice quiet bike ride on a designated bike path. Wish there was more information given by guide. Bikes were easy to ride. My first time on electric bike and was a positive one!

The guide was very good, although we were never offered water except for lunch and it was hot that day. Our friend got a bike that was too big and was very wobbly at first but never fell. Others did fall and a few had bike problems. My two suggestions are one, be more prepared for flat tires and mechanical problems, two, 2 guides per group would be much safer for the visitors.

What a perfect Day! The meet-up location instructions were good, and in-processing was a breeze. We left in a passenger van that fit our fellow bikers comfortably with the e-bikes being carried in another vehicle. After a 30 minute ride, we arrived at our start location and received our simple e-bike driving instructions. (If this is your first time using an e-bike, you will do yourselves a favor to pay attention. A few of the riders in our group were not careful when stopping and ended up running alongside their bike that ended in a spill with no injuries.) The physical activity to operate the bikes is minimal and you can obtain speeds upwards to 30mph. We stopped twice before our 10-mile trek to the restaurant. Once to view sea water crashing into the coast, and another at a vendor oasis where you could purchase local goods and another place to take pictures on the shore. (The vendors are not pushy, and your guides are on working for you, not the vendors if you understand my meaning.) The restaurant is next to the shore and there was a 2-man mariachi band that strolled the tables. The food was excellent. Next to the restaurant are other vendors. If you see something you would like to purchase, I encourage you to haggle to 50% of the listed price. On the return trek, you drive the 10-miles straight through to where you started your e-bike ride. Again, listen to your guides instructions as there are rules to the road and they are strictly enforced by the local police. You take another 30-minute van ride which takes you to the port, not to the vendor's shop where you initially signed in. Remember to tip your (2) guides and (2) van drivers and take sunscreen and a small backpack. We had about a dozen riders in our group and none of us experienced mechanical issues with our e-bikes. Our excursion was in March and the weather was perfect, but that costs extra ; )

When we need a day on dry land, we love to take the Beach Bum Island tour. Ask Griselda for this special tour around the entire island. Milton is a great guide and now a great friend. If you need special accommodations or a custom tour, just ask Gris. She’s the best!

Excellent experience. Our ship arrived in late and we missed our reservation time and they still accommodated us. It was basically a private tour. Milton was an amazing guide. Bikes and scenery were perfect. Highly recommend!

We LOVED this tour. We booked this the day our cruise was in port and had no trouble catching a cab to the bike shop. The electric bikes were awesome and so easy to learn to use. The bike trail along the coast was beautiful and we had a wonderful experience. Our tour guide was very friendly.

We had a great time on this tour! Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. It was very windy the day we went. I was concerned about getting blown around. We had no trouble because the e bikes were heavy and easy to ride. We enjoyed majestic views and enjoyed our time! I would definitely do this again.

Our number one favorite part was the people working at Beach Bum. Gris spent 20 minutes with me 2 days before our tour teaching me how to ride an electric bike. Our guide, Milton, was also awesome.. very attentive to safety and very informative about the island. These people are professional, yet warm and friendly. We loved the scenery! It is amazing. You ride along a dedicated bike road with no traffic, always alongside the ocean, It is about the right amount of exercise for us. We are fit seniors so 45 minutes of riding in each direction was good for us. The lunch was very good. We appreciated the relaxed stops with ops for souvenir shopping and enjoying the fantastic views. We rate this tour 11 out of 10! Shelagh and Ken

This excursion was AMAZING! Highly recommended! Beautiful scenery along the coast with fun stops for shopping and lunch along the way. The bikes were in excellent condition and very easy to ride. Carlos and Graise were AMAZING!! We couldn’t have asked for better tour guides. They were very fun and engaging and made sure we were taken care of. They took care of everything as we enjoyed the beautiful sights and experience. We would DEFINITELY do this again if we head back to Cozumel. Thank you Carlos, you were AWESOME to get to know and so great with our big group of 10!

Another awesome Viator excursion! Loved the smaller group with our guide, Melton! We had six in our group for the bike ride. Loved the east side of Cozumel. The ride was breath taking with the views. Lunch was great with our group. Our guide was knowledgable in the history and shared a lot of info with us. Just great weather, an amazing time and would love to go again when we cruise back to Cozumel. Well taken care of and watched over to make sure we didn't stray too far. ;)

Highly recommend a tour with Beach Bums! We booked the half day e-bike tour of the east side of the island. Because of weather, our outing had to be postponed a couple of days. The people were very easy to work with and very accommodating. Our guide, Carlos, was FANTASTIC!! He showed us parts of the island that even we had not seen before, and this was our 7th trip to Cozumel. He was very knowledgeable about what we saw. The ride was fabulous, you could stop as often as you wanted and the lunch included was great. Seriously. Book this.

Today was the absolute best as we were able to circle the ENTIRE island with Milton. He drove a truck behind us with extra equipment. He stopped whenever we wanted pictures and when we ate at Punta Morena. The tours are fun informative and of course have incredible scenery. I felt safe the entire ride. We have also done a group tour with 9 people. Griselda will customize your trip to fit your needs even if you are coming on a cruise ship. We have been having fun with them since 2020 and have never been disappointed. I highly highly highly recommend this business and can’t wait to come back to do it again!
