Excellent private boat trip. The boat was very comfortable and perfect for our family of 5. We were taken to a few snorkelling stops which were great. We saw loads of fish and a couple of turtles. Our guide Alex was brilliant at spotting things and pointing them out. After our snorkelling we were taken to a shallow area where we could swim and we had large stingrays swim all around us which was amazing. We had drinks including rum punch and Margaritas and excellent ceviche to eat. It was perfect for our family and our favourite excursion from our cruise. We would definitely book again!

Isreal and Alex were absolutely wonderful! We could not have asked for a better guide and captain. This was everything we could have hoped for and then more! Highly suggest requesting these guys if you're single or travel as just girls. We felt safe and had the best time!
This was an excellent private tour of the Cozumel reefs. Our Captain Luis and first mate Johnathan were extremely friendly, professional, helpful, and made the entire experience feel safe, fun, and relaxing. This private tour is an amazing and much preferred alternative to the other shared group tours that pack way too many people on a small boat. The operator has a few different boat options depending on your group size, and in the end it actually is a comparable price per person to the shared tour. In my opinion, this is tour a WAY better bang for your buck. You'll start the day by meeting at the Money Bar beach club at 10am. If you are coming from Playa del Carmen, you'll need to grab the 8:30am Xcaret ferry and then it's a quick 15 minute taxi ride from the ferry terminal in Cozumel. If coming from a cruise ship, it's an even shorter taxi ride to the Money Bar. Then, you'll visit four spots (including El Cielo) where you can get out and snorkel. Some are deep and some are shallow, but all have vibrant sea life. We saw hundreds of tropical fish, sea turtles, puffer fish, star fish, and HUGE singrays. Everything felt extremely safe and life jackets were available and in good condition. Snorkeling equipment including fins were also available and in good condition. Lunch was an excellent and fresh fish Ceviche prepared on-board by our captain Luis. We also got a delicious fresh fruit platter and drinks included. Perfect for a day in the sun. You have to option at the end of buying the $80 USD photo package, which in my opinion was TOTALLY worth it. Jonathan took AMAZING pictures/videos of us in and under the water with his waterproof camera. Probably some of the BEST snorkeling photos my wife and I have ever gotten. Great job to the crew and 10/10 recommend.
We started at Punta Langosta cruise port and took a taxi to the Money Bar. The taxi ride cost $20 each way, so be sure to budget $40 round-trip for transportation. Once we arrived, we paid the additional $13 per person national reef park fee for the protected areas we would be visiting. Helpful tip: Take a screenshot of your booking confirmation and reservation number before leaving the ship! If you don’t purchase the cruise Wi-Fi or prefer not to use cellular data while in Mexico, having your information saved offline makes check-in much easier. After paying our fees and checking in, we used the restroom before boarding. The boat used for smaller groups of 1–5 people was similar to a Malibu-style boat. Before boarding, we placed our shoes in a crate for safekeeping and didn’t get them back until the tour was over, so plan accordingly! Once onboard, we met our crew, received a safety briefing, and were immediately offered a drink. The options included water, beer, rum punch, or a margarita. Talk about starting a vacation excursion the right way! Our crew consisted of Rael, the captain; Brian, the photographer; and Jose, our tour guide. You could tell these guys had worked together many times. Their banter and interactions with one another made the entire experience entertaining, relaxed, and fun. Stop 1: Columbia Reef Our first stop was Columbia Reef, and WOW! This was the deepest location on the tour, and we spent approximately 30–40 minutes exploring the reef with our guide. The reef itself was enormous, and the marine life was incredible. We saw sea turtles, rays, nurse sharks, and a multitude of colorful fish. Being able to follow our guide through this underwater environment gave us plenty of time to appreciate the reef and see the wildlife up close. This stop alone made the excursion worthwhile! Especially with the up-close experience with the loggerhead sea turtles. Stop 2: The Starfish & an Unexpected Visitor! Our second stop was a much shallower area, approximately 3 meters (about 10 feet) deep, where we could see the enormous starfish living in the area. But the real highlight was an unexpected visitor: a spotted eagle ray! We were incredibly lucky to see one, as these sightings are uncommon in this area. She swam remarkably close to our group, giving us an unforgettable view of the gorgeous spots covering her back. It was one of those moments that made the entire excursion feel extra special. Stop 3: Stingrays, Fresh Ceviche & a Floating Party! Our final stop was all about relaxing, enjoying snacks, and spending time around the stingrays. This area was very shallow, approximately 1 meter deep (roughly 3 feet), and we stayed for around 45–60 minutes. The crew served a delicious spread that included: * Fresh-cut fruit sprinkled with Tajín * A bowl of fresh tortilla chips * Two plates of fresh ceviche made with triggerfish Everything was delicious, and it was so nice to take a break, snack, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings after snorkeling. And then there was the music! This crew brought the best DJ energy on the island. 😂 Our boat turned into the party boat, and before long, people on the nearby boats gathered around the sandbar were dancing, singing, and moving closer to enjoy the music. It was such a fun atmosphere and a perfect way to wrap up the excursion. The one thing I wish I had known ahead of time was that a photographer would be onboard and that professional photos would be available for purchase. Brian took nearly 50 pictures throughout our excursion. Some were posed couple photos, but my favorites were the candid shots of us snorkeling and the incredible marine life we encountered. The pictures were genuinely great, and I wish we had budgeted for them! The full photo bundle cost approximately $200, but we hadn’t planned for that additional expense. Between the round-trip taxi rides, the national park fees, and making sure we had money set aside for each of our four kids to have souvenirs, the photography package simply wasn’t in our budget. We ended up purchasing one photo for $25 and calling it a day. My recommendation: If you enjoy having professional vacation photos, ask about the photography packages and pricing before your excursion. Bring extra cash if purchasing pictures is something you might want to do. The candid shots of the wildlife and the underwater experience were especially worth considering! Final Thoughts: Would We Book Again? Absolutely! This excursion was a fantastic combination of snorkeling, wildlife encounters, delicious food, refreshing drinks, and a fun atmosphere. The crew did an excellent job of making us feel comfortable and ensuring we enjoyed every stop. Their personalities, teamwork, and energy made the experience even better. From the enormous Columbia Reef to the surprise spotted eagle ray and the lively stingray sandbar, we felt like we got to experience several different sides of Cozumel in one trip. My biggest advice is to budget for the transportation and park fees, save your booking confirmation offline, and ask about photography prices ahead of time. Overall, we loved this excursion and would absolutely book it again! If you’re looking for a snorkeling adventure that combines incredible marine life with a relaxed, fun atmosphere, this one is definitely worth considering.
We had the best day on Zafiro! Israel, Jose and Brian were warm, friendly and professional. Jose and Brian were both very patient and encouraging with my son when he was trying to get the hang of snorkeling since it was his first time. He ended up absolutely loving it, especially after getting to see a big sea turtle! The ceviche and snacks were wonderful at the sand bar, and we had the best time dancing, laughing, eating, drinking and watching the stingrays swim around. Brian is a talented photographer and took some amazing pictures and videos of us, which we happily purchased at the end of the boat trip. I am so happy we decided on the private tour for our family as opposed to a crowded group, and I will definitely book it again the next time we are in Cozumel.
Absolutely AMAZING day. The photographer and captain were awesome, very friendly, got amazing underwater pictures. There were 5 of us and the photos were 140.00 I thought that was very reasonable. We saw sea turtles, starfish, a shark, lots of fish, and stingrays. When we were on the sandbar the rum punch was amazing. The stingrays kept coming up hoping for dropped ceviche. The snack part was delicious fruit and ceviche, chips. The boat was fun just by itself. Highly highly recommend this excursion! Thank you so much!!
Rael and Jose were amazing. Very hospitable and knowledgeable of the area. We had an amazing time snorkeling and will definitely be back to book the same experience. Thank you for helping my family create memories.
It was an amazing experience!
BEST activity to do when your cruise stops at Cozumel :) I will repeat this, next time I go. The snorkeling was amazing got to see rays, turtles and star fish. The ceviche by the boat was delicious also. We all had a great time with the music from the boa.
Great crew. Israel/Alda were Very accommodating and we felt completely safe bringing my 10 year old son and 12 year old daughter. The team was professional and helpful when needed. We got to experience nurse sharks, turtles, starfish, stingrays, and many other types of marine wildlife. A huge plus…I connected to the Bluetooth speakers and ran the playlist the whole day. Get ready for looks of envy when you cruise past a packed catamaran filled with 75+ people listening to your boats sound system.
Fantastic time. Guys were very attentive and prioritized our great time!!
We had a wonderful time on the Zafiro! The hosts were friendly and accommodating, we were able to cater our experience to the needs of our group, and the ceviche was delicious!
We booked this private tour to El Cielo through our resort. We opted to snorkel the starfish, instead of the turtles and then hang out at a sand bar that had many Luna. We had a great lunch and drinks with our Captain Luis and Master Jonathan. The family had a great time! It was surprisingly more fun than expected. They don’t allow sunscreen in the marine park so bring lots of sun covering rash/tshirts. We have wonderful pictures of our trip which was a bonus!
Jonathan and Luis are awesome
The boat and guides exceeded our expectations. This is a great excursion for cruise passengers. We would definitely book again!
A definite must do! We had an amazing time!
10 out of 10! We couldn't have asked for a better day! We were a small group of four and having a boat to ourselves for half a day was wonderful! The stops were absolutely breathtaking and the captain, photographer and assistant were so nice. The ceviche and guacamole were very delicous and there were plenty of drink options. The cab ride to the Money Bar Beach Bar was $20 usd each way and getting a cab there and back was fairly simple. After our snorkeling tour was over, we hung out at the beach bar for a little while to swim and eat. Their food was a little pricey but the portions were generous.
It has been an unforgettable experience
They are the best!! Treated us so well and made sure we were having fun! I felt safe and saw the most amazing things underwater. Thanks Jose and Israel on the Zafiro boat!!!
The staff was so knowledgeable and super friendly! We also had a photographer on board which was a huge bonus! We got amazing pictures to last a lifetime. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone. The snorkeling was awesome & the last stop of the 3 was absolutely stunning.
We booked this excursion based on the positive reviews. They were right! Absolutely great day. We made our way to the Money Bar to meet our guides. We were early, so we enjoyed the facilities there for an hour and then hopped on the boat with our crew. We did 3 different stops. 2 good medium depth reefs and a sandbar. Loved every spot. Spent a little extra time at the sandbar where we were provided with a great ceviche lunch with drinks. The entire time we were there, rays circled around us! Having one of the crew as a photographer the entire time was a nice bonus and the photos and videos were amazing! Would definitely take this excursion again! Hung out at the Money Bar for awhile afterwards also. Great food and drinks there as well. Perfect day! Book it!
Boat was on time and clean. Three staff members, one captain, one tour guide, and one to help and take photos. Food was fresh and delicious. We had a bit of rain and this boat protected the group.
It was AMAZING!! Amazing amazing
Alex and Pedro were amazing. Everything we could ask for and more. Would book 100x more. Awesome experience.
Absolutely incredible. Jose & Pedro were amazing! Boat awesome and the best time. The ceviche was incredible - eating it with the rays. We snorkel and loved seeing a turtle and the star fish!
Amazing experience- clear waters, the tour guides were wonderful with our family group with lots of kids. We saw sharks, rays, turtle, and lots of fish. The ceviche and snacks were delicious. Highly recommended.
It was everything I imagined. Beautiful water. Great Guide and Driver. Delicious Ceviche. And lots of fish.
Excelent experience and photos, great food and treatment
Amazing crew, beautiful places great ship, couldn’t ask for more
The crew was great. It was a little windy and rough this day and they made sure to find us calm places to go snorkeling. We saw lots of great sea life. They then took us el cielo. The ceviche was great and super fresh.
We had a good time overall. The boat was clean, and the crew did a good job. The bathroom situation is a bit sketchy, definitely hold it if you can. The ceviche was good, but for the price, I feel there should have been more food served. I’ve been on other boat tours that also include guacamole and quesadillas, which would’ve been a nice addition. Aside from that, the experience was enjoyable. We visited the reefs, which was amazing, and El Cielo was my favorite stop it never disappoints.
Great communication and so professional. Great deal for a small group that didn't want to be on an overcrowded excursion. Highly recommend.
The boat shown on the pic was not the boat we were given - this was a problem for us because we have a 4 year old and didn’t want her in the hot sun. The boat we booked showed a pic of a double level with a proper roof for sun cover. When we showed disappointment upon arrival, they said we would incur a full cancellation fee. This was the start to our tour. The whole snorkeling part was done within one hour since we were already at the food site (last place where we see stingrays - saw one sting ray) within 1 hour and 40 mins and given the time to the snorkel locations was about 40 mins, the real snorkel tour to see two sea turtles, two starfish, one sting ray was about 1 hour. The coral lacked color. Highlight was seeing a dolphin in the open ocean. Ceviche was underwhelming and the life jacket is the blow up one that cut into my neck. They didn’t have enough mix for margaritas so made me a make shift one - which I appreciate but is odd for a private boat in Mexico to not have margaritas or guacamole. For the private boat $549+$40 docking fee for 2 adults and one child, there were no towels included and they made a big fuss when we tipped them less than 20%. Tips are not something that should be a given but for service that is above and beyond.
Jonathan and Jorge were amazing! Jonathan swam with us during our trip and our Captain stayed close by. Made it felt safe and personal. I definitely recommend this company and crew for a wonderful family experience.
This was a great trip. Definitely go. The crew was nice. The boat was fast and clean. You can bring your own towels for after a swim. You’ll take your shoes off before you get on the boat so don’t worry about water, shoes, or sandals.
Captain Luis and guide Jonathan were great! Great snorkeling, great lunch, great relaxation on sand bar with stingrays to keep company.... Amazing!
Best trip and better ceviche!! The captain and crew are awesome we had the best time!! Thank you both so much!!!!!!!!!!!
Fabulous day out - amazing snorkelling, ceviche & service Louis & Jonathan were amazing 😁😁 Would definitely recommend x
So much fun and an incredibly experience , the guys are amazing - Luis and Jonathan - fantastic and the snorkelling was spectacular but the lunch wit the stung rays was out of this world
Jonathan and Luis were excellent!! Great tour!! 4 stops—Saw lobster, starfish, a shark and lots of beautiful fish!! Great ceviche and pineapple and drinks on floating table on sandbar with lots of stingrays swimming around us! Highly recommend!!
Great tour guides had a great time with the family! Would recommend must try if in the island ceviche was delicious and ice cold drinks
AMAZING 10/10 No words honestly Our guides were JONATHAN and LUIS and they were incredible. They had the bestttt ceviche, best advice, took us to the most amazing clear water. We saw everythinggg all the sealife was gorgeous. The guides were the best part. I cant recommend them enough honestly it was perfect. I would go back to cozumel for this tour alone.
Luis & Johnathan (Junior) were phenomenal. This was better than we hoped for. Went snorkeling in there different locations and they were stunning. Saw sea turtles, lobster, starfish, stingrays (that swam right up and around you), and tons of other fish. With I would have known before how amazing the pictures would turn out because we would have posed for so many more. All the pics were sent to me via email, so I have digital copies. Only thing we did wrong was not taking reef safe sunscreen because we all got for more sun than we realized. I would definitely do this again and would recommend to anyone. Very hospitable and unlimited soda/water/rum punch/beer/margaritas. It was amazing!
amazing service from johnathan and luis snorkeling was fun I would totally come back again and ask for them personally.
I took a private boat tour for four people with Top Cozumel Tours, and it was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend them 100%! Captain Pedro and his co-pilot Jonathan were extremely attentive, and the level of safety was outstanding. They served us fresh, delicious ceviche and ice-cold beers. After this incredible experience, I’ll never go back to group tours again. Thank you, Top Cozumel Tours! Anibal & America
Really fun! We saw turtles and Sting rays and have a blast! The food was amazing as well! They had food and it was the best part!
jonathon carlos luis & nelly are the best guides ever! the vibe we had was amazing! the food and drinks were flowing and the instructions were perfecto!!! 🤌🏾 if you come to the playa, this trip is an absolute must!
Pedro and Jonathan were amazing. They took care of us above and beyond. Snacks and drinks were perfect and they put us on multiple spots to see rays, starfish and turtles. Jonathan helped get some video of us underwater too on our camera!
I booked with Robalo. Our tour guide was Leo, he was super friendly and enthusiastic. We loved every minute of it. Highly recommended if you love the boat to yourself or family of 6
Leo, Pedro, and Ceasar were incredible! They picked us up from our resort dock. Each spot we visited had something for us to see - sea turtles, fish, starfish, rays. The tour concludes at a beautiful beach with ceviche and drinks. I can not recommend this enough for your next trip to Cozumel.
