3-hour Small-group Mezcal And Tequila Tasting Activity From Cozumel

We attended the mezcal and tequila event, led by Melisa. She was excellent, knew her stuff, and it was a quick two hours because it was so fun. She grouped different tastes together with the mezcal and tequila which made it very interesting and unusual. Foods like grapefruit, nuts, and crickets. Melisa really opened our eyes and taste buds to mezcal. I highly recommend it and would attend again. We have already bought a few bottles of mezcal!

While we’ve experienced many food and alcoholic beverage tastings during our travels, we have never experienced an artisanal tequila or mezcal tasting before. Our guide, Melissa did such a wonderful job explaining the history, concept and process behind tequila/mezcal creation from plant to bottle. Melissa was genuine, friendly, enthusiastic, and taught us so much about each product we tasted! The experience was very unique in not only the tasting of the product, but also the tasting room with the beautiful view! Not sure if there was a mistake in the listing but the tasting did not include grasshopper or tacos. With that said, we still enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to anyone! We purchased 3 bottles of mezcal and can’t wait to get home and add them to our collection!

Melisa was excellent and made the experience both educational and fun. She answered all of our questions and was a great host. Their was a wide variety of tequila and mezcal to taste. Lunch was delicious.

I've been to Cozumel and have done Tequila tastings in the past, however this one was superior! Melissa was very knowledgeable and fun!. I learned a lot and had a great time. If you want to do a Tequila tasting in Cozumel this one is the one to do. Its close to both cruise ports, so its very convenient.

Absolutely wonderful experience and well worth the value. The venue is really nice and the group size keeps the experience intimate. The tequilas and mezcals were excellent and the guide was friendly and informative; lunch was also awesome. Highly recommend!!

I would highly recommend this for an excursion and Cozumel. It was very informative. The location was exceptional. The food was good and the lady that put on the tequila tasting was very informative.

Such a fun and informative afternoon tasting tequila and mezcal. Melisa was so passionate and engaging. We were a small group of 4. The tasting paired with fruits were wonderful and it was followed by a really nice lunch. I highly recommend this experience. Short cab ride from town.

Daniel was absolutely fantastic! My boyfriend and I visited in January and learned so much. He's very knowledgable and passionate. The tacos at the end were delicious as well

This was such a fun activity that boosts the heritage of Cozumel. We learned so much of the culture while tasting some excellent spirits. Vanessa was amazing!!

The excursion is as described. The only issue I had was the tequila tasting only had one brand of tequila (silver, respasado and anejo) I was expecting more options. Also, the tequila could only be purchased in Mexico which doesn't really help me decide what to purchase at home. I have went to free tastings that offer more. We asked for recommendations at home and he only recommended really expensive tequila. I have had reasonable price tequila that tasted excellent. The tacos are good and pairings fun, but disappointed in the actual tequila tasting. The mezcal tasting had more variety, but I really don't like mezcal as much as tequila.

Daniel was such a knowledgeable and personable connoisseur of tequila and Mezcal. And he shared recipes as well that I can’t wait to try. I could have spent days there learning from him. I will absolutely be back! I highly recommend this experience. You won’t be sorry.

This is a fantastic experience! Danny is such an enthusiastic ambassador for Mexico and its food and spirits. Unlike other tastings, he goes deep into the history and crafting of mezcals and tequila. He shares his passion and his expertise in a lovely generous way. The food was a huge surpise and so delicious! There can be no better way to experience Mexico and its culture! If you do one thing in Cozumel -- do this!

I don’t usually write many reviews but Danny’s tasting was the BEST — and I live near Napa so we go wine tasting at some of the best wineries in the world regularly. Danny is a true jack-of-all-trades — mezcal/tequila historian, professionally trained chef, and small businessman. The pairings were fantastic and a real experience to try how they alter the way the tequila / mezcal tastes so you can appreciate different notes. I really enjoyed hearing more about the origins of the alcohol and how to find good quality (which is often difficult in tourist areas). Even took three bottles home so I could try to replicate the experience with friends at home! Can’t recommend this highly enough. We were lucky enough to get a private tasting and Danny was great, answering all our questions about Mexican history, culture and mezcal! Definitely book this if you have a chance!

Danny was amazing. He knew his spirits, food, history and culture. A very Rennaissance experience. All set in an AC bar over looking the Caribbean. Does it get any better. He went over all aspects of tequila and mescal. Plus tastings and an incredible lunch afterwards. I highly recommend for anyone that really wants to understand and enjoy fine tequila or mescal.

Daniel gave us one of the most memorable travel experiences of all time! We learned about and tasted some amazing tequilas and mezcals along a delicious, authentic taco lunch! He was extremely knowledgeable and professional with a touch of humor. Our group couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable and compressive experience - complete with a taxi back to the ship lol!

This was an awesome tasting!! I learned so much about tequila and mezcal. I highly recommend this tasting if visiting Cozumel.
