Today’s dice was amazing. So much color and sea life. Ludyvine was outstanding.

Ninah with Blue Note Scuba was Amazing! Very Knowledgable and made sure I had the Best Experience! Best Dives today saw all kinds of Sea life and some 1st for me. Definitely will use them again!
The dive was very good and the divemasters were good, but no transportation was provided from the cruise ship to dive boat and return. Too much for the dive and add an additional $40.00 to the total cost for the transportation. The dive was one of the most expensive dives I have paid to date. Not worth it.
Absolutely wonderful!! Highly recommend going with this group! Cam, Loux, captain and crew were fabulous! We had 1 day to dive while on our cruise. Marina was 4 min ride from the cruise terminal. 2 amazing dives with swim throughs and nurse sharks! Would absolutely dive with this group again!!
The guide was amazing. She was knowledgeable and took us through the open water reef caves. Helped explain the fish and water conditions well. Very service focused as was the rest of the crew. Lunch was delicious and I was paired with divers with similar skill set. The negative was that the actual boat was very difficult to find. I way told the name of another boat that was supposedly nicer and newer which was under repair and in a tiny boat instead. When arriving to the doc there were no landmarks or instructions on where to find them. I wandered around and had to ask multiple people who were hard to communicate with due to the language barrier on both sides.
My experience with Blue Note Scuba was nothing short of amazing. I decided to get Open Water certified and followed up with four fun dives over 6 days. My instructor, Joel was awesome. He was patient and honest about my progression every step of the way. He taught me the essentials to enjoy diving. I highly recommend asking for Joel personally. On my last dive I was paired with Lu. She was amazing and very friendly. We were able to do Yucab Reef, Santa Rosa Wall, La Francesa, and Palancar Garden. Incredible!!! I would like to give a shout out to the Cha-Kay crew. They were excellent, safe, and experts at their craft. I highly recommend using Blue Note Scuba if you are a newbie or and experienced diver. One of my best vacations ever. P.S.- Don't forget to ask for wag while on the boat. They have really cool rash guards.
Definitely would recommend when in Cozumel! Our guide Lu was amazing, and she took care of everything while on board! The entire staff was super friendly and the surface interval lunch was fresh and authentic Mexican! Boat was clean and safe and we had a great 2 tank dive. Only a quick 10 min taxi ride from the port to the Marina and can easily be walked if desired.
This scuba group did a fantastic job taking care of everything and guiding everyone to see beautiful Cozumel. We saw lots of undersea animals including sharks, turtles, rays, etc. Would highly recommend this group for diving in the future. I will be booking with them again
Diving with Blue Note Scuba was amazing! They were so responsive getting us scheduled and were able to pick us up at our hotel. In addition, they accommodated us in scheduling a night dive! Lu was so wonderful. She made us feel comfortable since it had been a while and showed us some amazing dives.
Wr booked theb2 tank dive on their website. The meeting instructions were sent via email. Everything on this trip was fantastic. Our guide took our dive bag onto the boat and set everything up for us. She gave us a great briefing and we had a great 1st dive. Then we went closer to our 2nd dive spot and they put up a sandwich bar on the boat ( bread, ham, cheese, mayo, fruit, chips, etc.) And handed put cold water. While we were eating our guide switched the tanks and gave us a briefing for our 2nd dive. We had a great 2nd dive. We saw a pretty good size nursing shark, a large moray eal, several turtles, angel fish and a few lobsters. The reef was impressive. It was well worth the money and we got back to shore exactly as planned. I highly recommend blue note scuba. Also the boat captain was fantastic. I would recommend them for beginners as for seasoned divers as they divided us into different skill groups. The less experienced divers went with other guides. The atmosphere was laid back and enjoyable as one would expect on a dive boat. I wish they had offered a 3 tank dive. I would go for that in a heartbeat.
We selected Blue Note largely on reviews - and that they used a fast and comfortable boat to access the reefs quickly. We were not disappointed in either input! Staff is professional and enthusiastic, with the right tone of 'dive smart' PADI influence. Lou was our primary dive leader and she is sharp, funny and engaging. The boat crew was highly=skilled, especially doing pickups in the swift currents around the SW Cozumel dive sites. Is the boat squeaky new and the dock immaculate? That doesn't pull much weight with our crew of divers: quality over new, dive experience over visuals. Highly recommended!
Great experience diving with Blue Note. Knowledgeable and friendly crew. Joel was awesome. Highly recommend!
Great Cozumel dive experience! I would choose them again without hesitation.
The owners were very accommodating for our group. We all could not get our schedules together to all sign up together. The owners made special efforts to make sure we could have a night dive and a twilight dive together. What owner does that for customer service. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed and excited about our next adventure. They took time to review safety procedures, check our equipment, and ensure everyone was comfortable before entering the water. Our guide Daniel stood out most in or diving experience. During the diver, they pointed out marine life we would otherwise miss. Colorful reef fish, turtles, intricate coral formations, and eve a few hidden creatures tucked in the reef. Beyond the dive, the team created a relaxed atmosphere on the boat. They were helpful, and ready to answer questions and give some pass insights on excursions.
Excellent dives, the dive master was excellent. He was able to pointout Nurse shark, Stingrays and Eagle ray.
Paloma took her time to do our refresh course. Was very pleasant . Snack was delicious, guacamole is great ! We saw eagle rays, incredible memory !
We had an amazing time! My husband and I have prior dive experience but aren’t certified, so we did the two tank intro to scuba course. It was everything we hoped for — quick refresher of the fundamentals, followed by two beautiful boat dives. Shoutout to Joel who was truly the best. He put us at ease right away, worked with us while we got re-acclimated, and guided us expertly. 10/10!
I had the pleasure of diving with Blue Note out of Cozumel in early February (happily, the port wasn't closed!). From start to finish, the experience was seamless - the team is very responsive on WhatsApp & helped me get scheduled, and the instructions on meeting the group at the marina couldn't have been easier (I didn't realize they don't have a physical shop which makes their operations even more impressive). We were fortunate to be a smaller set of divers that morning and I just had one other diver in my group. Our divemaster Lu was able to give the brief in both English & French (for my buddy). She was super attentive & addressed our needs well. The The dives were wonderful, great drifts - absolutely massive turtles, lobsters, & crabs. No eagle rays, sadly, but we did find a number of splendid toadfish to truly make it a Coz dive. We had quite the spread of food for our surface interval, I'm used to just a few pieces of fruit & some cookies, so that was unexpected & awesome. The equipment is well-kept & maintained, and the DMs know their stuff. With so many options from dive shops, this is one I would definitely go back to with hesitation.
This is a great group to dive with! Group size is kept small which I love. I hope I have her name right but Lou was extremely professional and also a ton of fun! I highly recommend!
My daughter and I did a two tank dive and had a great experience. Our dive master was from France and had years of experience diving around the world. She was excellent at explaining what was going to happen during the dive and what we should expect to see. She also made sure that our equipment fitted correctly and that everything worked as it should. After the first dive we docked at a private beach for about an hour and had lunch on the boat. Following lunch we took our second dive, which was also a great experience. A photographer followed us taking pictures of us on the dives and some of the marine life that we saw. That was a nice extra to have. My daughter purchased the whole series.
Professional crew. First rate instruction. You can't do better than this outfit to obtain your Open Water certification or for recreational dives. I'll be back.
We completed our recertification as open water divers after cancer ended our diving adventures eight years ago. I am 72 and my wife is 63. Blue Note Scuba expertly accommodated our needs making the experience both safe and enjoyable. Joel was our private dive master and instructor. He clearly briefed us before each dive. He taught us a lot of valuable lessons that will help us each time we dive. Joel has a very easy and fun style that makes learning enjoyable. The boat is fast and it’s fun speeding past all the other boats out there. It has a marine head which was a nice bonus. The crew is friendly and capable. The guacamole and pico de gallo were homemade and absolutely wonderful between dives. Overall Blue Note Scuba is our pick for diving in Cozumel. P.S. We had weather related issues that resulted in the harbor being closed one day and opening late another. During the entire time Doug kept us informed so that we could plan accordingly. Communication was excellent throughout our time in Cozumel.
Two dives on the reef. First dive to about 60'. It was a drift dive on Santa Rosa reef with very little effort needed. Lobsters, a few large fish, colorful coral and a peaceful dive. Went through some coral tunnels. The second dive to about 40'. Many more fish with much more current. Took a bit more work. Joel was the divemaster, was careful and all the equipment worked well. He made sure that everyone was safe underwater without being intrusive. .
This was such a great experience! Our crew was knowledgeable, extremely safe, and super friendly. They took very good care of us. We are new divers and we felt very comfortable. We saw so many amazing things under water and had the best time! We highly recommend Blue Note SCUBA!
The dive master was very knowledgeable about the dive location and found a lot of marine life. Excellent job.
Amazing crew and super fast boat. Can’t say enough good things about Blue note Scuba. I won’t dive with anyone else here in Cozumel
Great experience diving with the crew! Would come back and dive again next time I’m in Cozumel. Was about a 25 minute walk there and back from my cruise ship, the Norwegian Escape. Dives were finished with plenty of time to get back to the cruise ship.
The dive boat was really close to my cruise ship, I walked 1.25 miles to the marina. Lu the dive master was great. I just loved her pink tutu, pink knee high socks and pink fins. The cat ears on her head was icing on the cake. Both dives were great. Visibility was amazing and there was tons of sea life to see. The turtle was a crowd pleaser. Lunch was great and the guacamole was fantastic. Great time, and I highly recommend Blue Note dives. 🥳
When you get off the boat you need to find a taxi it was 15 dollars per person but it is needed to make sure you find the port on time. To get a taxi early just walk down the street until you see the publix store there are always plenty of taxis in that area. It is 15 dollars to the peer. When you get to the pier go over by the gas station area in the morning there will be some one there that you can ask about your dive. Also if needed and you do not have service you can probably message using anyone's phone and what's up to the dive shop. I had a lovely drift dive the coral is wonderful. We say a spotted eagle ray and some lovely green eels. On the second dive we were more in the bay area and we saw shrimp and angles and other lovely things. I love diving in cosumel and this company did a great job. On our rest time they served quacamoli and chips with the option of ham sandwiches. After the dive instead of paying for a taxi I decided to walk back it is a longer walk about two hours but there is side walk most of the way and you get to see lovely things. If you have time you can stop at one of the snorkle beach places on the way back.
We had a week of diving with Joel and Blue Note. Everything was smooth as silk. I was especially impressed at how much Joel cared about the marine life. Every diver wants the reef to be healthy, but Joel took it to another level and always took care to keep us aware of how to behave and how best to respect the animals.
Excellent overall experience. We are relatively new divers and Blue Note was very accommodating. They know this area well and find amazing wildlife. We saw nurse sharks, black tip sharks, Seahorse, stingrays, sea turtles among numerous tropical fish and amazing coral formations.
My sister and I had a great time with Julie and the crew. They were professional and knew how to have fun. I would recommend using Blue Note Scuba to a friend.
Fantastic crew. Extremely professional and knowledgeable. Equipment and boat were in great shape. The dives were fantastic. I will always use this dive company in the future.
Just wrapped up an amazing week of diving with the Iberostar Cozumel Resort. 11 amazing reef dives with reef towers and amazing tropical fish along with an amazing night dive. Big shout out to our guide Veronica or “Vero” she made each dive super fun and safe. Vero is an amazing guide with years of experience. If you haven’t booked your trip yet please consider diving with the team from Iberostar Cozumel and so for Vero!
My 13 yr old daughter and I did 6 dives over 3 days to get our Advanced Open Water and Nitrox certification with Blue Note. It was a seamless and very enjoyable experience. Doug was very responsive in setting everything up and our instructors (Rita and Lu) were great and both went the extra mile to make our trip fun and memorable.
The team was awesome. Lu was a great guide, and I enjoyed my dives in Cozumel. There was a current and she did a great job keeping us down and out of the strongest ones. Lots of beautiful coral and fishes. We also saw shark, turtle, lionfish, and lobster.
We’re divers who were coming to Cozumel on a cruise ship. I didn’t want to book through the ship so I searched for a reputable company that worked with cruise guests. Blue Note was awesome. It’s 1.5m from the cruise port. We walked it (which was fine) but taxis are readily available. We brought our own gear and arrived a little early. We dropped our gear with them and waited for the departure time. There wasn’t a dive shop that we saw, just the boat (which was roomy and well kept). When we boarded we were surprised to see they’d set up our gear for us already. We had good communication and Daniel was our in water guide. He gave a thorough dive briefing and was one of the best guides underwater we’d had. He was very attentive, clear in communication and friendly and knowledgeable. The boat captain was attentive and picked us up from the surface quickly (Cozumel is drift diving). We had some sandwiches and fruit on the surface interval and had a great two tank dive. They chose good reefs to explore since Palancar was closed for poor conditions. Back in plenty of time for the cruise departure. If we’re back in Cozumel again we’ll definitely book with Blue Note again!
I spent five incredible days diving with Blue Note and every dive was a highlight. From the moment we stepped on the boat, the entire crew was welcoming, professional, and fully committed to making sure every diver felt safe and comfortable. Their attention to detail was impressive, and safety was clearly their top priority throughout the trip, adapting for beginners to advanced divers. My gear was set up for me before each dive, and Dani had my tanks swapped out before I even noticed. The crew’s efficiency let me focus completely on the dives themselves. It was effortless diving, and that made all the difference. Lu, our main guide and instructor, was phenomenal. Her knowledge of the reef, calm presence, and sharp eye for marine life made every dive special. I also had the chance to dive with Leo, and he was just as outstanding. Everyone on the team is clearly experienced and deeply passionate about diving, and it shows in every interaction. The dive sites around Cozumel were stunning. The guides did an excellent job of matching sites to our skill levels and interests, always adjusting for conditions to give us the best experience possible. A night dive was an absolute must, seeing an octopus made it one of the most memorable dives of the trip. If you are looking for a dive shop in Cozumel that combines safety, professionalism, and fun, Blue Note is the one to choose. I’m already looking forward to diving with them again on my next trip.
One of my favorite diving trips that I've been on - It has been a hot minute since we dove, and our dive master, Rita, did a great job going through the entire safety list that we needed on our dives. Many dive masters will let you swim around and just look at things. Not Rita! She was part of the trip the entire way, pointing out things every couple of minutes. She was meticulous in showing us marine life or things that we would have missed. She was so good that we requested her on our night dive as well. She did the same. Pointed out everything (sharks, eels, octopus and all the way down to the smallest sea snake.) The dive crew was great and we will certainly book again through Blue Note on our return.
My husband and I needed a refresher course since it had been uuhhhh…quite a few years since our last dive. (We are certified and have many dives under our belt). We wanted to join our daughter on her first dive after receiving her Padi certification in a college course. Rita gave us a thorough instruction refresher. Her attention to detail for scuba safety and pointing out all kinds of sea life was fabulous! The crew was kind, and they had some of the best guacamole!! Thanks Blue Note for a great trip!
I had a truly wonderful scuba diving experience, thanks to Mauricio. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to create an exceptional and personalized experience. His professionalism and passion for diving were evident throughout, making the entire outing both safe and enjoyable. It was a very pleasant experience from start to finish—I highly recommend diving with Mauricio if you’re looking for a top-tier guide.
We booked our tour a month prior with hopes of completing a two tank dive upon our arrival date into Cozumel via our cruise ship. I spoke directly with the owner of the company the morning of to confirm so there would be no confusion of our arrival time and paid! Immediately after paying there was no further communication from the company. Since the time was confirmed and the trip was booked, we proceeded to the marina. To our shock the boat left 10 minutes before our planned arrival time. Beware that this company does not have a dive shop at this location and we were basically stranded walking around for at least an hour to find out from another boat captain what had happened. We called the owner on repeat with no answer. Now stranded and wasting our only day at this port he finally returned our call two hours later to let us know he caught a flight and his only action was to give us a partial reimbursement (which was never issued to us!). This of course was disputed with the credit card company and won because of his negligence. There are several reputable companies that have dive shops at this marina that I would recommend over this company. Terrible business practices here!
My girlfriend and I dove with Bluenote Scuba Cozumel in February 2025, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. She completed her Advanced Open Water Diver (AOWD) certification, and the instructor was absolutely fantastic—super professional, patient, and made the whole course enjoyable and stress-free. The equipment was in excellent shape—clean, reliable, and clearly well-maintained. It made a big difference in the overall comfort and ease of the dives. The crew was awesome too—friendly, helpful, and just great vibes all around. Everyone made us feel welcome and safe. We also loved the boat—spacious, well-equipped, and really well-run. Everything was smooth and organized, which made for a super relaxed dive experience. If you’re looking for a dive shop in Cozumel, Bluenote Scuba is a total win. We’ll definitely be back!
Blue Note is the BEST!! We loved our dive guides, Lou and Max were amazing. The owner and his wife are so friendly and the company is very easy to book with, and the dive master (Danny) and boat captain are amazing. We will dive with them every time we are in Cozumel! Blue Note has an amazing crew who helped us with anything we needed. We dropped a phone in its underwater case at the end of the dive, and the crew went above and beyond to locate the phone and retrieve it!They provide a fantastic homemade lunch during the surface interval, they'll take you to amazing dive locations each time, and they go above and beyond to address any problems that occur. They speak English, Spanish, and even French! I highly recommend diving with Blue Note, they will be your favorite dive charter in Cozumel!
Great communication right from the start. Doug the owner was quick to respond to my initial inquiry and throughout the registration and certification process. I had some tight time limitations and Doug was able to work with my schedule and get me finished up. I had Daniel for a dive instructor. Very clear in goals and techniques and made it certification a very smooth process. Also just a good guy to hang out and dive with for a couple days. Can’t wait to get back and dive again with these guys!
I love diving with BlueNote, they have the best boat on the island and Ludy and Max their dive masters are knowledgeable and very experienced. They really know the reefs and make the whole experience even more magical.
We just finished two days of diving with blue note. We rented the private boat so that we could have a smaller group for our divers and snorkeler. The communication with owner Doug was always prompt and professional. We had a top notch crew with Max, as our main dive instructor, Aureliano, as a private, instructor for our junior diver , And Mauricio and Lou as snorkel guides. The equipment was good quality and we had a couple of issues that were rectified immediately. We had excellent service with keen eye on safety. The entire group was more than thrilled with our experience. We highly recommend this scuba company. If you have a large enough group of snorkeler and scuba divers, consider getting the private boat. It is the way to go!
This is the 4th time diving with Blue Note in Cozumel, as always outstanding service by the crew, wonderful lunch and snacks. Always a pleasure to dive with this boat and crew.
A beautiful drift div. Easy to get to from our cruise ship. The team was knowledgeable and very helpful. Two thumbs up for my guide Max!
Wonderful two dives in the reefs of western Cozumel. Great guiding by Rita Grajales, who was very patient and good at instructing (we were finishing our open water certification), and some beautiful corals and sea life (sea turtles, lobsters, crabs, barracudas, endlessly varied fish). Entrancing for me, in the first diving experience of my life. I appreciated the guides, the fresh and tasty lunch between dives (you use a lot of energy scuba diving), the boat and crew. All very good. Things felt a little rushed on the back end of the tour back at the dock, but maybe that's just the way things feel after the bliss of drifting through the reefs. Also, I ended up with a perforated eardrum at the end of my open water training, which meant no more diving that week (and none for at least a couple of months while it heals). This isn't related to the review of Blue Note, but just a head's up to all new divers to really practice your equalization and talk to your instructors about it when you are going to be deeper than your pool dives.
