Paddleboarding Around Newquay's Coastline

Finn was amazing , he was so fun and we had a great time. Would highly recommend Finn for the paddle boarding experience

We had a fun paddle board tour with an experienced & friendly guide, the booking was very easy (although it did take a while to fill in 2 almost indentical safety forms per person..). We'd recommend NAC highly, and will surely use them again.

A huge thank you to Finn for guiding us around. He was especially good with getting the kids to have fun and made them enjoy the time out, even though they were extremely apprehensive at first. As a first time out, as a family, unfortunately we did not get the full value as the weather did turn and was very windy. In hindsight, it would have been better for our kids to be a little older (currently 5 and 6) or having previous experience to get the full value. The overall time alloted would have been ample if the wind had not picked up. Considering we did a more personal trip and had a dedicated guide, I'd say the experience was very well planned and again, Finn targeted the kids and ensuring they had fun which was the primary aim to get them in at an entry level. Overall, we would definitely recommend the team to anyone, but possibly consider the novice nature before attempting this in Cornwall, simply due to the wind. But even with that in mind, we had a great time and will be back in the future.

We spent a lovely morning Paddleboarding. James our instructor was brilliant, informative, helpful and encouraging. We added snorkelling at the last minute by recommendation of the company. It did not disappoint- we saw crabs, fish, jellyfish and loads more, even a friendly seal. Altogether a great experience and one I would recommend to others, whether experienced paddle boarders or new to the sport. We would go back again!

Awesome afternoon learning the basics of SUP before exploring some of the coves around Newquay. James our instructor was very patient, conscientious and managed a very mixed group of different abilities with amazing results. Despite being our first time paddle boarding, James gave us the confidence to enjoy the tour at our own level and yet still keep up with everyone else. We learnt loads about the marine life; watched seals swim underneath us, saw spider crabs and loads of jellies. James has a brilliant knowledge of the local sealife - he was a pleasure to listen to. Definitely recommend 100%.

Throughly enjoyed the experience, the Instructor/Leader James was full of information on local history and pointed out Jellyfish, Crabs sandeels and even took us to see a friendly seal. It was a never rushed and I was relieved the only thing I had to carry was a paddle! Would recommend, thank you James

We had a great paddleboarding tour with James. Most of us were beginners but managed to stand up for at least some of the time! It was i interesting learning about the sealude and history of the coast. A really fun trip!

If you could give a 6-star review, we totally would!!! From the minute we visited the centre to discuss what we wanted, the staff member was helpful, informative, and offered excellent advice. When we arrived for our session, we were greeted by Amy. She was clearly experienced and loves her job - and who can blame her!! She led our group expertly along the coast line offering tidbits of local knowledge and bags of opportunities for cave swimming and exploring and the graceful getting off and on of an XL paddleboard 😆 she was a great coach and clearly loves what she does - we had an incredible session and would throughly recommend for novices and experienced alike.

Great experience with Ellie she was lovely, would recommend. Such good fun hitting the waves, Ellie made it feel so much better as she was great fun

James was a great guide with a real interest and knowledge of wildlife and local history. I would say the Paddleboarding isn’t for the faint hearted actually, and if you’re unfit, even tougher. I was surprised how hard going it was on mildly choppy water, having only done it on still lakes and calm tropical sea before! Falling in with a helmet, life vest, wetsuit and trainers on wasn’t pleasant anlthough appreciate H&S takes priority for any of these businesses. Highlight was seeing an adult seal and a youngster which was totally unexpected. Would probably chose kayaking in future due to fitness level!

The most amazing paddle boarding session ever!!! The tour guides Oleks and Finlay were such good guys. The cave tour, paddling to the rock and the games we played were so so good! Going out to the rock and riding the massive waves was so breathtaking, couldn’t stop smiling. It was so so special, will never forget it. The tour guides are an absolute asset to your company, made everyone welcome and giving them the confidence to go out their comfort zone. You guys are amazing x

Great experience paddle boarding the river Gannel - hard against the current but with an experienced instructor telling you how to navigate the waters safely this definitely made the difference. This experience has made me more confident to go paddle boarding more independently.

This review relates to a private SUP tour we had with Oleks. This was our second visit to the centre and won’t be our last. Very friendly and efficient booking process online and would highly recommend a private tour for that little bit extra. The guide was really friendly throughout, made us feel at ease and explained everything clearly. We spent over 1.5hrs out on the water working up the coastline where Oleks showed us some local sights and made the experience fun with various challenges and games along the way. Would highly recommend this place (again). If you are reading this thinking about booking, don’t hesitate!

We have always wanted to try paddleboarding and we decided to book a paddleboarding lesson whilst in Newquay. We had a great time! Our instructor, Oleks, was amazing, he explained everything so clearly and allowed us to go at our own pace, he also changed our route slightly when the wind started picking up. A highlight for us was seeing a seal pup (and being able to stand on the paddleboard for more than 10 seconds without falling in). Definitely recommend this experience!

Absolutely fantastic. James our instructor was great and extremely patient. All round a lovely guy who made the experience even better. Def recomend paddle boarding but don't be fooled you will hurt after 🤣

Fantastic trip with Sean around Newquay, shut on a Sunday but went out of their way to accommodate my 40th which happened to be a Sunday. Sean is very knowledgeable with the local area, and great company. Really recommend. Can’t thank them enough.

Five rookies, two incapable and nervous parents and three kids aged 12, 10 and 8. Jacob provided instruction on what to expect, how to position ourselves on the board and to use the paddle before he took us out onto the water. Three kids thoroughly enjoyed - standing up (and falling in!) with both of us also giving it a go - with hilarious and inevitable results. Thoroughly enjoyable, well instructed and made to feel comfortable from beginning through end. Reasonable facilities for getting changed and sorted and only a five mins walk to where you set off into the water. Well worth it - enjoy!

We had a family paddleboarding session with Amy, it was a blast. First time paddle boarding for us all, Amy was very helpful and patient and made the experience. Dan helped to book the experience and was very knowledgeable and helpful with when we would get the best conditions. We will be back on our next holiday.

I had a great time on the SUP tour. We had excellent weather for it and getting to try paddle boarding on the sea and along the coastline was a really fun experience. I was a bit nervous (having only done paddle boarding once before and on much calmer water) but our guide Jacob was very helpful and informative; he gave us some initial beginner tips and also showed us some optional challenges which were a good laugh. My favourite element was being able to climb inside a cave (also optional). All the staff at the centre were also really friendly. I definitely recommend the Newquay activity centre for anyone who wants to try SUP in Newquay.

We’d been paddle boarding before, but paddle boarding in the sea is very different to a river or lake! It was a great, fun activity to do with our teens. We considered hiring SUPs without a guide, but so glad we went for this option instead as we would not have ventured as far if we’d gone it alone. It was worth the extra money. There’s a very rocky section you have to climb down to access the beach - something to be aware of! All of the equipment was provided and we felt safe in the hands of our instructors James and Cara.

We went paddle boarding and snorkeling in the worst weather today and still had a blast! Oleks was so good with my son (who got chilled towards the end) and made sure we all had a great time, thank you for making our family time so much fun!

We had a fantastic time on our combo standup paddleboard / snorkeling adventure in Newquay with Oleks. Although the weather wasn’t perfect - we still got out on the water, tried all sorts of new fun things, saw seals, fish and jellyfish - and managed to stand up! Oleks did an amazing job with our 8 yo and kept him entertained and even saved the day when things got a bit chilly when the wind picked up and the rain started. Such a fun experience and really appreciated the great support!

Fantastic experience! We did the paddleboard tour with Oleks. We loved the relaxed approach, no pressure from him but some gentle encouragement to get involved if you wanted to. Really good value for money too and had a full 2 hours out on the water. We were given some tuition first and then made our way out into deeper water to get more practice in. The only thing I would feedback is that the descent down to the cove where the SUP’s launch from is very steep and don’t remember seeing any warning on the booking. It was fine for us, but if you have reduced mobility you will likely struggle to navigate it. Otherwise a great experience and would recommend 100%, especially with Oleks!

My son and I had a fantastic Sunday morning paddleboarding up and down the Gannel Estuary with our expert guide James. The weather was fantastic, with the water being surprisingly warm. We'd only paddleboarded once before, but James had us up and running in no time, and it wasn't long before my 12 year old was doing tricks! James was really knowledgeable, not just about paddleboarding, but the local area itself. It was a really interesting and fun couple of hours. Great value, would highly recommend to anyone.

Me and my daughter went out on the river paddleboarding with James and we had a fantastic time. We are real novices and James put us at ease and was so friendly, approachable and knowledgable. And best of all it was great fun. A morning that will live long in the memory. Thank-you so much.

Fantastic guide Amy led 3 of use around the harbour. So good as we had different experiences and challenged the more experienced to try different things.

Went to Trafford Water Park and had 1 hour with instructor Rachel. Absolutely brilliant! £20. Would recommend to anyone. Rachel was lovely and made us feel really confident. Thanks for a great day!

Great fun paddle boarding but much harder for some of us than others! Sarah and Oleks were good fun and great teachers. Whilst my three sons and one friend found it easy and were up and standing in no time those of whose of greater maturity found it significantly more difficult. Excellent equipment and we were not cold whatsoever.

James at Newquay Activity Centre was brill. He was informative and enthusiastic throughout. We had lots of fun and even saw a seal. We all had a great time. Book with James 😁

Went here twice this year. Once to do paddle boarding and then snorkelling with Alex. Both trips were great and I’d highly recommend it. Went paddle boarding last year as well and will definitely be back in 2024!

Or guide Sarah was great. Easy going and patient. The grpup was of mixed age's from young kids to middle aged and had differing levels of confidence but Sarah was both attentive and supportive. She recognised who in the group needed her the most and focused on then while not ignoring or forgetting the others. She kept us all entertained and engaged. It was a fun afternoon on the water. Of note also was Olek who helped one nervous member of the group to climb down to the cove over some steep rocks. His calm demeanor and helpful manner enabled that person to overcome their fear and join the party on the beach. All in all the service was excellent from the reception on arrival to the writing up of the session.

Sam was absolutely fantastic from start to finish with my sons on thier paddleboarding experience, they thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing ,everything was explained so very well and with enthusiasm from Sam our instructor and we were not rushed ,totally worth the money and definitely a visit.

Oleks was our instructor and he was really fun to be around, very keen on his history stories.The kids enjoyed pushing him off when he said he had a Spider-Man grip to his paddle board. We had a great time and we are very happy we are going back tomorrow.
