Doc Martin Tour In Port Isaac, Cornwall

The worst weather day due to Storm Austen. I was the only tourist that turned up but Dave was there and ready to show me around. The wind was insane but the tour was great thanks to Dave's extensive knowledge of the Doc Martin show and Port Isaac itself - he lives there and was an extra in some episodes. Thanks Dave, you're a real trooper! I highly recommend this tour.

VERY steep and hilly. Need to advertise this more directly. Access to meeting location challenging as car parks are quite a distance away. Would be a great addition to have golf carts taking people to the various locations. Have a meeting start or complimentary ride at the car park etc. Understand check in is located at Candy Shop etc. should advertise “ external” site access only. As a fan of the show, loved that Dave our guide was part of the cast at times! He lived locally and provided lots of commentary about the show, the cast and local life. He made the tour lovely. Thanks Dave!

Make sure if driving you park at the car park. I plugged in GPS to the start point and it takes you right into town. There is no parking. It is an excellent tour. The gentlemen Mike knows history of port Isaac. He was in Doc Martin. So informative. Highly recommend

An enjoyable visit. The tour operator could have done with being a little more enthusiastic. It would have helped if he had a book of pictures to remind you of the scenes where the places featured (another tour-guide had this which enhanced the experience for us). However, a very enjoyable day. We're now re-watching the program with a new perspective.

We did a Doc Martin walking tour of Port Isaac with Mike. Such a great experience! Mike had been part of several series of Doc Martin, so he gave us lots of inside info about the making of the show and he had great knowledge about the history of the town itself. Very enjoyable and highly recommended!

The experience and Mike’s personality made this tour well worth it! So fun! It’s like we had a private tour of Port Isaac.

We took this tour at the end of September 2026 with Mike as our guide, and he was fantastic (as many have mentioned in their reviews and he was one of the main reasons we chose this tour). He was very informative and clearly knows his stuff. The length of the tour was just right, and I would highly recommend it to any Doc Martin fan.

We had a fantastic Doc Martin tour with Mike who had been an actor on the Doc Martin set over several seasons. His knowledge of the show and of Port Isaac was so good and he was very engaging. We loved every minute of the tour and will carry great memories back to Oz with us. Highly recommended!

We loved our day in St Isaac. We were there for the Shanty Festival weekend. Loved it.

This tour was so wonderful from start to finish! Mike Meakins, our guide, had worked as an extra on Doc Martin. He told us so many anecdotes and details from the filming of the show, while pointing out and having us guess how the various buildings were used. He also showed us a very interesting hidden area of the town. He was an absolute delight, and this tour was one of the highlights of our trip!

Hard to get to Port Isaac via bus or train. David our tour guide was very good; gave us history of PI as well as show details

The guide was very personable and had been a participant in the production team, as well as an extra. He gave a ‘behind the camera’ insight into the series.

We had a fantastic time with our guide Mike on the Doc Martin Walking tour. He was an extra on the show ( and also in the PBS Masterpiece new version of Poldark!). so had lots of inside tips to share, We enjoyed wandering around the village and seeing so many of the filming locations and several more places unique to Port Isaac. So much fun! Great way to spend time in Port Isaac. Thanks Mike!

Had a great day in port isaac, or do I mean port Wenn, tour guide "Dave", was brilliant, a real character and actually worked on the show in front and behind the camera, also lives in the port so knows all the history. I would say it's a bit up and down, so you'll get your daily steps in , so you need to be relatively in good health.

Helpful to have a guide who could show us places from Doc Martin however he kept going on about how all the properties in Port Isaac are holiday lets! The tour was just over an hour! He was an extra in the show and had some knowledge of the scenes but not as knowledgeable as I thought he’d be! Glad I only paid £15 pp instead of £20!

Fantastic Experience! Our tour guide Mike was incredible, not only did he share in depth knowledge about Doc Martin but the village itself which was fascinating. There's so much we wouldn't of seen had we not of done the tour despite staying in Port Issac itself for the week there were still parts we didn't even know about. Mike was a real gem and happily signed a card for my mum that was celebrating her 60th Birthday. I would highly recommend to others. My only constructive criticism would be that at times it was difficult to hear Mike and I feel he would benefit from a microphone especially in larger groups.

Really enjoyed the informative and entertaining tour. But why did it cost £20 per person booked via Tripadvisor when it costs £12.50 at the location?

Absolutely wonderful experience for the 5 of us, one of us who didn’t even watch the show! Mike was very knowledgeable and was a pleasure to spend time with.

We did the tour today, with a fantastic guide, Mike Meakins - who has appeared as an extra in several episodes of DM across the many seasons. You'll visit a dozen or so iconic locations in the beautiful harbour area and surrounding village as well as some not so well known - but just as interesting/beautiful. Mike has a huge amount of insider knowledge from his many hours spent behind the camera and, also, as a local inhabitant, reveals many interesting facts about the history and evolution of Port Isaac. Seriously, this is a must do for Doc M fans. Thanks Mike - we loved it!!

I think our expectations may have been too high but we based them on other tours. This was not terribly interesting although there were plenty of locations and opportunities. Our tour guide was very nice but very negative about the show

Insider knowledge of the filming was revealed as we ambled around the village. The bonus was the catches coming into the fish shop. Well worth the cost. Dave was excellent

This gave you a great insight into the whole Doc Martin story. Our guide Mike was in the show and behind the camera so it was a true reflection on the filming, the cast, the buildings used and about Port Isaac's history as a village. It was very informative and interesting. .

Great tour. Guide was very engaging, friendly and informative about the show and some general Port Isaac history. Highly recommend for any Doc Martin fans (and also those who aren't because the backstage insights are interesting regardless of the show). Dog friendly too - our Tilly (aka Lottie!) really enjoyed the walk.

Fascinating insight to the characters and behind the scenes from the TV Series Doc Martin, our guide Mike was very knowledgeable and shared stories from in front of the camera and behind the scenes, together with some of the history of Port Issac. Mike was also so easy to listen to and respectful to all questions the group asked, also a really nice man, who is known and respected locally. Thank you Mike for making this experience so enjoyable, would definitely recommend.

This was such an excellent tour! It was great to be taken around by Mike who has so much knowledge of Doc Martin and of Port Isaac to share and could answer any question that we had. It felt very special to be guided through so many filming locations with his accompanying stories and context. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who loves the series.

This was a fabulous experience, in no small part due to our amazing guide - Mike Meakins. His local knowledge, great anecdotes and lovely personality made him the ideal person to show us around Port Isaac. You don't need to be a super fan of Doc Martin (although who isn't!) to join the tour since you will learn lots about the area in general. The tour usually takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes but we took a little longer since we couldn't drag ourselves away! Worth every single penny and more so might I suggest tipping Mike so that he can head off afterwards and get himself a well deserved cool beverage of his choice - he totally deserves it!

Great tour, informative, the meeting point was a bit crowded too little of a space for people to wait for the tour to start.

Hearing behind-the-scenes stories from someone with personal experience added a whole new dimension that you simply can’t get elsewhere. Mike’s passion for Port Isaac shines through, and his friendly, relaxed style made the tour both informative and entertaining. Alongside the Doc Martin stories, he shared fascinating information about the village’s history, fishing heritage, and local community. We discovered hidden corners we would never have found on our own and came away with a much deeper appreciation of this beautiful Cornish village. This was one of the highlights of our time in Cornwall, and we would highly recommend a tour with Mike to anyone visiting Port Isaac.

Difficult to find and then murder to find a parking place. When we did find one, 4hrs for £7,50, then a £50 parking ticket on our return. Tour was good. Very hilly, lots of walking, 50p to take a pee. Tour was done in 30deg heat, would hate to do it in the rain.
