A wonderfully quiet and peaceful caravan park tucked deep into the Cornish countryside. The site is massive and nicely spread out, which gives you plenty of space for walking around and enjoying the various on-site activities. The staff are welcoming and always ready to help. It is an excellent base for families looking to stay over and explore, being within easy reach of Newquay town, stunning sandy beaches, and plenty of local attractions. You will definitely need a car to get around as public transport is limited, but driving makes exploring the area completely hassle-free.

Paid an extortionate amount of money (over 2k) for a Barn with rooftop terrace for the week, which is nothing like the photos on the Away Resorts and Retallack website. The furniture on the roof terrace is stained, there are no back cushions or support , and what’s there is weathered, damaged and dirty. The table up there is really heavy, and is tucked right into the corner. It’s not in a state that we can go up there and just use the area at all. The chairs themselves have white marks on them, like they’ve not been cleaned ready for a busy summer period! The shower handle in one of the en-suites is broken, there’s just a screw hanging, and there are stains on the rug in the lounge. Tonight, over an hour wait on Take Away from Catch 22 as it’s actually made in the main restaurant (not a separate take away area we thought it was, given it had its own menu) and the beach cafe is not serving food as the chef called in sick. Also, no fantastic view as displayed on the website, showing large windows on a double aspect with bifold doors, instead we have walls at both ends of the barn. Just a large door that opens in the middle of the lounge area. Nothing like the photos online. Went to put our youngest to bed, and found poles hanging out of the blind that we had to push back in so that it’d work for now… Disaster first day, will not be returning, it’s not worth the money and is poorly managed. It’s our main family holiday this year and I feel hugely let down and miss sold.
5 stars for the service from Hermione! Would see her again! Friendly, welcoming, strong and skilled! I had a deep tissue massage. She was receptive if I asked for more pressure or less pressure. She also was keen to share in friendly conversation or silence if I so preferred. Thank you! :)
Worlds apart from any other holiday accommodation in Cornwall and I have stayed at plenty. Lots of space in the barns even for my family of 7. The rooms are spacious, the kitchen has nice equipment, the beds and sofas are comedy, everything was clean. The reception called prior to our visit to see if I had any questions and they called during our stay to ask if everything was ok. I felt well looked after. I would recommend this resort to anyone planning a Cornwall trip.
Location is great, and so is convenience, they are accommodating for dogs and lots of green space for them to explore. However, we are quite shocked it’s classed as luxury. Accommodation : we stayed in the lakeside apartment. Cigarette butts were found on our decking which is appalling. The seating area outside was also very dirty. We did raise the issue with decking and they did clean it promptly, but you wouldn’t expect this from a 2 star let alone a “luxury 5 star resort” - We also had half a loo roll. It took a while to get another loo roll despite asking loads of times. We also went to cook something and the oven wouldn’t work. The staff were understanding but not apologetic. Again, with thinking this was a luxurious place we were looking forward to the restaurant (The Lookout) and it is the equivalent of Wetherspoons as we ordered a breakfast and the meat was inedible. For a “family stay” it is a nice place, a range facilities (though the pool needs a clean, algae on the sides) but I wouldn’t recommend for couples with its lack of attention to detail.
