What can I say about this hotel? Its central location is a real advantage, and parking nearby was easy to find. The welcome was friendly. I booked a small apartment on the top floor, with two bedrooms: one spacious, the other quite small, with a rather short bed. The mattress was uncomfortable, though the living room was pleasant. The narrow, steep stairs were difficult for my elderly uncle to climb. The toilet was so cramped that I couldn’t close the door while sitting down. The shower was more spacious, but there was no hot water when I used it. Breakfast was quite good, although the portions were small. The hotel made a gesture to compensate for the lack of water, which I really appreciated.

Terrible overpriced food. A shame because my experience at other Artist’s Residences has been lovely. We went here for lunch and i was shocked how bad the food was. The calamari was not fresh and was mostly burnt crispy coating with bad fish. The lemon Orzo pasta was edible but not good enough for £21. It reminded me of the Pasta n Sauce I used to make myself as a student… On top of that the food took ages to come even though they weren’t busy. I pointed out how bad the food was but no offer to remove anything from the bill. There are lots of great restaurants in the area. Don’t waste your money or tastebuds here!
We stayed in Penzance elsewhere but were lucky enough to be close by to this wonderful restaurant and team. From starting off with an impromptu coffee and breakfast it then led to 2 further meals - purely due to the incredible service by Jordan. What a superstar. Nothing was too much bother, welcoming, kind and always going above and beyond. We also got to meet Abbi who served us the final 2 meals there. Such great knowledge, helpful advice and such a naturally warm person. When speaking with any other team members there, they too were all wonderful. Such a pleasure to be around and in that welcoming environment. Thank you Jordan - for truly making our 5 night stay in Penzance a much more enjoyable one due to meeting you, the team and being in such a stunning setting there. Next time we will Stay at the hotel! Outstanding service 🫶
We had a lovely three nights in this quirky hotel. The staff are delightful - always friendly and helpful - and the position is excellent for wandering around Penzance. Breakfasts offer good and varied choices and the bar is well stocked, with good places to sit in the guest lounge and garden. We ate dinner there, and the menu was varied (with specials) and the food delicious. As for the hotel as a whole, the waiting staff were friendly and efficient (a special mention to Prue here). Just a couple of things to bear in mind: we had a Comfy double and the room isn’t particularly large and doesn’t have much space for putting clothes away - fine for us for three nights, but worth knowing. The second thing (really directed to the owners) is that on occasion it felt that there wasn’t quite enough staff on. Everyone was as pleasant and helpful as ever, but they felt somewhat rushed. All in all, a great place to stay in Penzance.
Such a gorgeous hotel. Our cosy room was perfect. The staff are lovely - particular shout out to Jordan, who was so welcoming when we arrived and every time we went in and out. And it’s so dog friendly. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area. It’s in a gorgeous street full of independent shops and eateries too.
