A friend and I spent 2 nights here (18th & 19th of August). Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Loved the terrace overlooking the Lee. Shame about the unattractive buildings that formed part of the view but that can't be helped by the hotel. Nighttime is the best time to appreciate the twinkling lights of Cork city and beyond. Staff were so very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was adequate. We requested a view which was over the courtyard (better than the car park at any rate). We requested a twin room but the bed had not been separated when we got there. It got sorted quickly but it jarred a little that the headboard was essentially for a King sized bed and was fixed to the wall so when you sat up reading you didn't have the comfort of a headboard across your back. The carpet in the room needs updating and I have informed the hotel of this. The bathroom is small but had everything we needed. We availed ourselves of the Salt Room. We enjoyed relaxing on the loungers but I'm glad we didn't have to pay full price. We ate in the Panorama restaurant both nights and enjoyed the food though my friends chicken was tough the first night. We loved the ambience. Its cosy. We never got to the Glasshouse or the cinema but I would happily come back to the hotel to try those out.

The Montenotte is one of the nicest hotels I have ever visited. Firstly, the views of Cork from up here are breathtaking. The staff are so so nice and welcoming, they are epitome of professionalism. I must also say that their uniforms are just gorgeous. The food and drink here is to die for, and very popular so I would highly recommend booking a table for food. The screening room was another special touch here 🍿 It was just wow. Highly recommend. This is a very special place and I will certainly be back.
Attended a spa day with afternoon tea with some friends. All agreed the massages were the best we've ever had. The staff were so lovely and accommodating, helped us find the pool, the reception when we got lost, and looked after us in both the spa and afternoon tea. The food was great and the chef even makes their own honey pecans which aren't at all too sweet ( they were with a dessert) They were very kind to bring more when I asked even though it was a bit of an odd request. They had no trouble tending to dietary requirements, my tea was dairy free (pics) and the 'regular' one looked fab also. Honestly 10/10 for the staff, it was a lovely experience and start to the weekend ❤️
the good very nice location and perfect views of cork city. really nice check in and really liked the room cleaners top up of water and biscuits twice a day. beautiful finish of the room throughout really enjoyed the gardens and cocktail bar fire pit. the bad really disappointed with the paper thin walls. you can hear everything in the hall way one side and the other side is the carpark deliveries. possibly the most uncomfortable pillows i've ever slept on. shower pressure was a trickle, we told reception but nothing was done about it. there is a big gap underneath both glass doors in the sauna and steams rooms, so all the heat and steam is already escaped from them; absolutely pointless. had buffet breakfast at 9am. very good selection but everything was cold even though it's in the warming pots. the freshly made breakfast selection was also cold. there is plenty of stairs and long corridors to get to the rooms. the lifts lead to no where or out of order.
I sent the Montenotte my feedback after our stay last month. I used words like ‘unparalleled’ to describe the warmth of the experience of arriving at their wonderful hotel. But everything was excellent. The views from the extraordinary balcony at teatime, the smart bedroom, the unbelievably generous and delicious breakfasts, the kindness, the professionalism, the swift response to any enquiry or whim. We rarely dine in hotels at night because the cheffing is often not up to standard but they’ve also cracked that, four fabulous dinners in their gorgeous dining room. But none of that is what this review is about…..when I sent my feedback I assumed that was the end. I was wrong. I received back a full, charming, personal response from an actual Human. In the end, that’s the mark of this place. Truly bothering, actually caring, going the extra mile for the individual traveller… every single time. Brilliant. We (4 of us) loved it.
