It's an old hotel right on the river and very close to many sites and restaurants that are easy to get to. The breakfast is somewhat limited, for example only offering scrambled eggs for the egg option, but with the typical other offerings such as has brown cakes, sausage, ham, cold cereal, toast, etc. The room was small with a double bed, desk, chair, small closet tightly fit in. The carpet wasn't as clean as I prefer and the bathroom is tight with old fixtures (separate hot and cold faucets) but my pet peeve is moldy caulking. There's no reason for that. Overall, the stay was comfortable enough. The fan in the room helped compensate for the lack of AC during the warm nights.

Amazing lobby but shabby neglected room. No air-conditioning and no way to close curtains on a sunny hot day. Net curtain did not meet window sill. No refrigerator. Bathroom shabby and neglected. Lights flashed when the shower was on. Needs paint and repair. Carpets in hallway filthy and need replacing. Great location. Cheerful helpful staff ( Thanks, Sagar!) but would probably give it a miss next visit. Definitely overpriced! ( But I was refunded 30% for the poor condition of the room, etc!)
Okay. The rooms are a little dated at this point, but 💯 functional. What was good is plenty of USB charge points and even a wireless charger! Nice touch to leave some water in the room and a fan. Agree with comments that would be good to have a kettle in the room and no aircon Air Con on a warm night and I hope they do change that in the future. Bathroom and shower all great. Service was excellent and we were on a Bank Holiday weekend which was busy and a conference going on. Breakfast was great, and very helpful staff. The bar and reception area are very chilled out and relaxing Also, price for room and food was aligned with other hotels with similar facilities on a Summer Weekend. Would stay here again.
Avoid at all cost in the summer. The rooms are sweltering hot. 30° C. Our rooms were at least supposed to have a fan but there was none. We called down for one and were told they had none. Was going to cool down with a cold shower… no cold water. I have no idea how this has such a relatively high review. Definitely not the experience we had. Never would have cared but the wallpaper is peeling off the wall, paint is cracked and water damage on the ceiling. Would be a great budget hotel on a cooler day. But it was expensive since summer is “peak season”. The no cold water was really the cherry on top of it all.
Couldn’t fault the location, really central, close to the bus station, bars and shops. The rooms however were very basic and not worth the amount paid (even with a Black Friday discount). The room was very dated, not the cleanest, small and stuffy. The only window in the room was frosted and opened only slightly and the view was a brick wall. TV took a while to come on, the wire at the back wasn’t very secure. Constant buzzing noise was coming from somewhere in the hotel all night. Hotel reception and receptionist was very nice and welcoming. Breakfast and service was great. Overall wouldn’t recommend due to the price for the room.
