This tour cost two of us €40 for a guided tour that lasted less than 30 minutes. The guide was knowledgeable, but no one mentioned that you would only get to see the gardens because the building is closed. You can buy your own ticket to walk through the gardens for just a few euros. It really felt like bait and switch. The tour was supposed to be 1.25 hours.

Beware. This tour is seriously overpriced. The buildings of the Alcazar are closed. The tour operator did not tell me or other participants this until the tour, which was only of the gardens, was over. The tour lasted 50 minutes and not 75 minutes as advertised. One can but a ticket on the Alcazar website for entry to the gardens for €3.56. One can read the history online.
It was difficult to find the guide. The tour was supposed to last one hour to one hour and 15 minutes but it ended after 50 minutes. The guide was very nice but her English was poor. This tour is seriously overpriced. One can read about the gardens and the history and pay less than €2 for entry. The palace is closed so one only sees the garden.
Our guide gave us the history of Cordoba and the Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos. She was knowledgeable and approachable. However, this tour was of the gardens only as the actual building is closed for renovations. We booked this tour December 2025 and do not recall seeing any warning about the sites closure, when we contacted Eventour they pointed out that their website carried the warning 'The Alcazar will open its doors on 16 June 2026. As restoration works are still ongoing the visit will take place in the areas that are accessible at that time'. This suggests that some of the Alcazar will be open, it clearly does not say only the gardens will be open. We paid Euro's 39.88 when you can buy tickets to the garden at the entrance for Euro's 7.50 per person. Overall we feel we were mislead over the tour and paid a premium price.
The site was much more meaningful with a guide to explain the importance of the artifacts. Gardens were beautiful.
Our tour in Córdoba was an unforgettable experience! My parents and I had the pleasure of visiting the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, and it was truly a treat to be guided by María del Carmen — a passionate historian who brought the site to life with her knowledge and storytelling. She didn’t just walk us through the Alcázar, she took us on a journey through the rich, layered history of Córdoba itself — from pre-Roman times through to the Christian monarchs. Her insights into the different cultures that have shaped the city added so much depth to our visit. We left feeling inspired and informed — and with a deeper appreciation for the city’s incredible heritage. Highly recommend this tour and María del Carmen as a guide!
I booked this visit, Alcazar, in the wrong city. We were unable to attend the visit. I did not ask for a refund. They would not accommodate us in Madrid.
We actually never got to see this experience because the link to the map took us over the bridge and we missed the start. When we came back to the hotel we noticed the meeting point was at the baths
Good tour, a guide who knew what she was talking about, very interesting. Surprised us with intell about the history facts and fables.
I had a wonderful guide who had good knowledge of the history of the building and those who lived in it. I asked lots of questions that were linked to other areas and rulers and she was able to answer everything. She very obviously enjoys her job and this came across clearly.
Mamen kindly explained Cordoba's Alcázar. She gave us an historical perspective of the fortress, connecting ancient social order with the modern usage of the building. We all liked the explanation and we are grateful for her.
There really isn't a lot to see in the Alcazar so sorry not sure a guided tour is needed although the tour was reasonably priced. Our guide Isabelle was very knowledgeable but she spent 30 minutes telling us about the place in the corridor. Can you feedback that she needs breaks up her dialogue into shorter sessions around the interior as our group lost interest in what she was saying. We tried to subtlety indicate she should move on but think the whole problem is there isn't much to see and that the best bit are the gardens and you don't need a guide for this.
Everything was great, really nice woman who took us around, friendly and funny, informative certainly worth the money, even if she was 10min late for the start of the visit, it was Cordoba time.
Not much inside the castle to view. You may walk around and enjoy the outdoor (Piscinas) pools and the garden. I recommend that you climb the tower, it is a narrow path but it’s worst it.
Everything very good. The guide explained every detail to us
Equipped with an audio guide, we walked through the gardens since the Alcazar is under renovation (which we would have appreciated knowing beforehand). Guide very available for our questions. General presentation of Cordoba, then main historical elements. Our guide made sure to always give his explanations in the shade. Magnificent and refreshing gardens, also to be done at night with the illuminations. Tour in English. About twenty people in the group. No tour in French, a shame for the children.
Alcazar closed for renovation, but we were not informed! Very few and uninteresting explanations received. We did not like it at all.
You must inform travelers that the Alcàzar of Cordoba is currently closed for restoration and that the gardens are not open to visitors either. A change is offered, after purchase, with a visit to the royal baths and patios, which while cute, have nothing to do with the Alcàzar.
39€ for guided tour Eventour of the Alcazar. Alcazar closed on D-Day. We could only see the garden (free visit) and the califal baths (visit at 6€)... I made a complaint but no action was taken.
very good attended us super well was very nice, I really liked you to ask us questions, it was very funny and was always watching us.
Rosa was lovely. He gave us a lot of information, not only about the Alcazar but also to give historical context.
Very happy with the experience with Viatur. We have done a guided tour in Alcázar de Córdoba, with Rosa, our guide. We loved how he explained it and how he managed to keep the interest of our children 8 and 4. How wonderful when you find someone who does their job this well. Thanks Rosa!
Very nice guide and very attentive with the group so we could see everything, have time to take pictures and answer our questions. Gracias Laura!
Recommended visit 100%, book tickets and tour at once. Much better during afternoon hours, fewer people and calmer, close at 8pm Our guide Rafa (the brujuladerafa), excellent, great knowledgeable about history and details, enjoyable, fun, correct....a 10.
The visit was great.Rosa was very pleasant in the explanations, and worried that everyone was comfortable and understood everything. He also offered to take a photo of each family/couple at a location during the visit, which is appreciated.
Great experience, the guide in Italian language in a nice and rich in information led us in the visit
Laura has been an amazing guide, giving very clear and interesting information and being very passionate throughout the visit. Worth the guided tour. Highly recommended if you come to Cordoba.
Very good communication from the moment of booking with the company and great relationship with the guide during the visit which was very pleasant.
Ana, our guide, easily discovered all the layers of the history of Córdoba. The visit by the Alcazar was very interesting and enjoyable.
We did a guided tour of the Alcázar de Córdoba with Patricia. It was a very interesting guided tour, Patricia was very clear to explain and told us very interesting anglotas. Your way of giving us information is very captivating. We absolutely recommend the guide with Patricia!
A highly recommended experience since the building has had different uses over time and to explain everything as well as our guide Patricia did is a luxury. It is certainly worth the guided tour.
It was an excellent guided tour, the person who explained it to us was very Pro and nice. I would count on this experience again.
The visit was very short, and we were not taken to every room. We had to climb the tower on our own. I recommend visiting each one on your own.
The Alcazar itself is worth a visit. It is a small building with magical gardens. The Guide very nice but hardly told us beyond what the plates said. She could not resolve the doubts we raised about what she was telling us (she lacked information and training). Too bad.
Good guide with humor. Clear explanation of the Inquisition and the misunderstandings about it. Handled the questions well. Sometimes a little harder to follow due to the Spanish accent. Recommended.
Pilu has been a great guide. In addition to transmitting information with knowledge, it has been curious, dynamic, and fun. Thank you so much for the visit!
Fuimos con mi familia a Cordoba y logramos esta visita que decidimos en ultimo momento, resultando realmente memorable por el monumento en si y la guía que nos acompañó
We took a trip with friends to Córdoba, one of the activities we chose was the guided tour of the Alcazar. Rosa was our guide: WONDERFUL, attentive and fun, she made the visit very enjoyable and explained everything phenomenally, making sure you don't take your attention away for a moment. Highly recommended ☺️
Super good! Laura very nice and professional. The visit was very pleasant for us. We will repeat the next tour with you without hesitation.
Muy amena e instructiva la visita. La recepción de la guía muy buena , atenta y profesional. Recomendaría a Viator a familia y amistades.
Absolutely great service. The meeting was at the exact time and getting to the site was incredibly easy, not to mention that the public parking in the historic center is less than 20 minutes away on foot. The guide who accompanied us made the visit very pleasant and certainly made us fall in love with the place. An absolute 10 for the dedication of its guides,
Very beautiful and an excellent tour guide. We learn all about History. The gardens are also magnificent.
The experience was perfect, the guide a wonderful super friendly and friendly and trying to make it as entertaining as possible. Many interesting facts that add value to the visit. Definitely recommended!
Our guide Miguel gave us a historical tour of this place and it was very interesting. It is fortunate that today resources are being allocated to carry out a correct archaeological investigation of this place.
We booked a tour in English, but it was in Spanish. We had to cancel. We expect a refund
Interesting visit with a good guide. I am increasingly clear about the importance of taking guided tours to get to know a city. Especially on the first visit to it.
A very pleasant visit thanks to our guide Inma, was very close and transmitted the history of the alcazar easily and very dynamically.
We were lucky enough to do the tour alone with her as no one else showed up for the appointment. Pink from the beginning very friendly and attentive, helped us safely manage to leave the baby cart in the driveway. Very pleasant and complete explanations.
Recommended the guided tour to get to the idea of the history of the Alcazar. Very good explanations and the way to transmit from our Rosa guide. The only 'but' is that the visit was shorter in duration than it was supposed to be. Of the 3 visits we made with Eventour it was the one that fell short in description and explanations.
Ammen and entertaining. It was worth knowing a little bit about his story. We only put a paste and it was chaos until we found our group and tour guide, despite having entrance and being at the exact starting point.
