We visited 5 beautifully decorated patios and got to meet the owners and hear their stories. Our guide Emilio was terrific. He led us through the streets of the San Basilio neighbourhood and explained the history of the patio competition and its associated intangible heritage . He used to live in a Casa Patio so he was able to describe the cooling effects from first hand experience. There is some queuing involved because the spaces are small but it’s worth the wait. Even though it’s autumn there are still a lot of colourful flowers

Fantastic tour of 5 patios with Emilio! He gave us lots of history and info on the amazingly beautiful patios! Really amazing! Highly recommend!
We had a great tour of the patios. Joaquin was our guide. He was very knowledgeable about each of the patios we visited. It was a fun tour. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.
What a wonderful tour! The patios were spectacular!
Really fun tour! You get to meet real citizens of the town. Interact with them and see their beautiful gardens.
Excellent tour with Alejandro Muñoz. We could only see a few in winter but they were all diverse and all beautiful. I recommend this tour even in the winter. We did not have crowds to compete with in these small patios.
Nice time to spend in Cordoba especially if is a hot day. An experience if you want a good paced relaxed afternoon.
Although the guide was very good, we only visited four patios and the tour lasted under an hour. Maybe September is just not a good time to go as the competition for the patios is in May.
Amazing place to visit. Rich history. The people are very friendly. Olivia, our tour guide was excellent. Knew every square inch of the Mesquita. Great visit!!
We showed up on time at the posted time of 6 pm. When we inquired about the meeting time the company informed us that the tour began at 5 pm. The company blamed Viator for posting the incorrect time and offered to book us for the following day. We are leaving tomorrow and as a result requested a refund. We were promptly refunded. The company could have contacted us prior informing us of the time.
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, fluent, capable and fun. She did a great job and showed us seven beautiful patios.
We were lucky enough to have 2 guides for this tour. Emilio was our English speaking guide and he was fluent, funny and obviously loved showing people the different patios. He often shared stories about each place and made everyone feel comfortable at each stop. He was aware of crowds and avoided them, detouring back when there weren’t so many people. The guides were very respectful of the people whose homes we were visiting. He chatted with the owners and was happy to answer questions. We highly recommend this tour.
Really fabulous gardens, well worth a visit. A really lovely tradition. Our guide Alejandro was very enthusiastic and knowledgable and the owners were friendly
We took a tour of the Patios of Cordoba when our scheduled tour of the Alcazar was unexpectedly cancelled (due to RAIN!). The tour was lovely and our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Even though I was quite disappointed at missing out on the Alcazar, this substitute tour was great, and the patios were very beautiful, even in the rain.
The patios of Cordoba are definitely interesting and beautiful to see. Unfortunately seeing the patios is really popular and there are a number of tours visiting the patios at about the same time with what appeared to be very little, if any, coordination among the groups. This inevitably leads to confusion and chaos. This was our tour guides first night of conducting this tour in English, not her first language. While she tried her best, the confusion/chaos of multiple tours with her limited English ability lead to a very average tour of something that could/should be so much more. I am sure, over time the guide will become much better/more comfortable, especially under more favorable circumstances. Anyhow seeing the patios of Cordoba is highly recommended but not under these circumstances. Perhaps a self guided tour may be a better way to go?
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and took us to some beautiful patios where she was happy to take lots of photos of us with the flowers. Highly recommended and not to miss when in Cordoba.
Very friendly and knowledgable guide who did her best to let us in to the patios at the quietest possible time so we could take photos.
Delightful insight to one of the important strands of Cordoba's culture. Learnt alot from our excellent guide, Patricia
Enjoyable and informative. It’s good to understand the history of the patios. Thank you Alejandro for being a great guide
Maria gave our group a great tour through many of the patios, along with a history of the competition. Great way to enjoy this UNESCO site
The patio tour is not to be missed. My wife and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It's a wonderful mix of culture and beauty.
Alejandro our tour guide was spectacular!! He was very knowledgeable of the plants and flowers, the history of how the patios of Cordoba were created and always mindful and respectful of the homes we visited. I couldn’t ask for a better guide. This is a must experience tour! Such dedication to the maintenance of these patios. When in Spain, you must visit Cordoba; such history. If you’re Latin American like I am; this is our motherland!! Viva España y Ole a Córdoba!!! Muy agradecida.
Antonio did a great job sharing the history and significance of the patios of Cordoba in our tour. We had a pretty small group which was also nice. My family enjoyed the tour!
Maria was a wonderful guide and so open to questions. Loved that she was a local. She wasvery accommodating.
Our tour guide, Maria took us on a wonderful journey of several patios and explained the history and the context of their origin. Really enjoyed it.
Great tour with very knowledgeable and friendly guide. I can throughly recommend it even if gardening isn't your thing.
The patio tour was very beautiful and unique. Unfortunately, our guide, was a young Spanish lady whose command of English was lacking. She didn't share much information but I get the impression that this was due to her limitations when speaking English. It was a pity, as yesterday's tour with Cristina from Oway Tours was fluent in English and extremely knowledgeable.
Thoroughly enjoyed this tour which encompasses a peek at 5 privately owned patios. It’s possible to do this on your own, but I personally found it worthwhile having a guide in order to learn more about the tradition. Booking online was simple & the meeting point clear & convenient (Royal Stables entrance). Our guide, Antonio, a history graduate & native of Cordoba, was a charming host with a friendly demeanour, good English skills & a firm knowledge of the patios. It was interesting to learn how they came to be such a feature of Cordoba, & the finer details of the annual competition. The main festival is in May, but they are still very much worth a visit at other times, indeed I felt my early March trip was a good time to do so without the crowds. As a consequence of not having to queue, this experience took little more than an hour, versus the 2 you’d need during the festival.
The tour cost $18 per person. It advertised tapas and a drink at the end. There were no tapas or drink. The tour company said Viator was supposed to take that off the ad. Bottom line, to see only 5 patios with hardly any information in about an hour for $18 is a total rip off. You can get a ticket for $6 to see the patios on your own. Granted you have to find your own way and you don't get any information however we got hardly any information. Do not spend your money on this tour!
If you go in summer crowded and hot if you go in October everything is about gone for the season, greenery little flowers in October. It just happened to be a draught this year.
We had a wonderful experience with tour guide Maria! She was knowledgeable, friendly and funny. We loved the patios tour. They were beautiful and much better than we expected. Maria made it such an informative experience as well.
So, we signed up for this patio tour on Sept.22 for Sept.23. I got a confirmation number and everything seemed in order for the next day at 1700. Then around noon on Sept. 23 I got a text from the tour company saying they were sorry, but the provider was unable to do the tour and could we go on Sept. 24 instead. I said, that was not possible, as we were leaving town—refund ticket price please. I heard nothing from them. Obviously, we did not go on the tour. I checked my credit card the 24th and the charge was still there. I sent the company another text, asking for my refund. I did not hear anything from them. In the evening I got a text from them asking me to review the tour. So, here’s my review, something happened that the tour didn’t happen, you did not communicate with me and I want a refund. All texts were sent to the company regarding the cancellation, now I’ll need my money back. Badly handled so far and no communication.
We enter the office that puts information, leads to the confusion that it is tourist information, they do not take you out of the mistake. I asked what we could see that afternoon and recommended an excursion to the patios and after finishing entering to see horse show and for the next day excursion to medina Azahara for 30 euros per person and a freetour in the afternoon. I thought it was weird but we said we signed up to see the patios and we understood it was a freetour, our surprise was that it told us 42 euros, we were embarrassed and we paid it, we said it was worth it anyway. Then I saw in his field trip brochures that he says 19 per person and we pay 21. We were told we had to be 15 minutes early. They send you the address but send you somewhere else. We finally found him. No one came there and the guide arrives on the dot. He showed us 4 yards, the visit didn't last long and was a bit boring I have done freetours more entertaining and with more explanations. She was talking to two interns and we were talking to the other couple, they thought the same way they expected something else for that price When the visit ended we saw 4 very nice and unpaid patios on our own. In one of them that won the second prize this year the woman who had explained it to you super well and with great joy. We were left with bad taste in our mouths and ripped off at that price. I don't recommend it.
Very nice, lovely owners and guide very well You can see that he has been doing the tour for some time. It cools the relationship you notice with the owners
Excelente guía.lugares hermosos.Patios que vale la pena ver.Algo diferente al interior de las casas qué sun conservan historia.
The courtyards are beautiful and the guide and the owners of the courtyards very friendly and friendly shared with us their experiences and history.
Our very friendly and handsome guide. In all information and character, a friendly and very knowledgeable person. He even let me have coffee, (there were very few of us in the group and there were not many people). A fun and beautiful tour to look at the culture of Cordoba from an everyday perspective. Recommended for everyone who likes from plants to history and generally have a good time. Thanks, guys.
The young lady led us into beautiful courtyards and also told us some interesting facts about it. You could probably have done this without them; but then not so sure which/when/what category/... . We had been standing in front of a closed patio the day before and did not know why. I.e. for us the lead was definitely great.
The tour was amazing, fun and taught us all a lot, I had a wonderful time, Rebekah the Guide is super fun, knows a lot and makes the magical tour
Visits to the patios were not organized. At each patio there were waiting times or visits were refused for various reasons.
Incredible experience. Very beautiful and a lot of work to obtain those wonderful patios. I liked "Kiki's" patio for everything, because the patio itself was so unique, because of the number of awards it has won and because Kiki is a great person. And also hats off to Claudia our guide who made the tour very enjoyable. Keep it up Claudia.
There were kilometer-long queues to see a patio for one minute and on top of that there were patios that were free to enter for everyone. This is supposed to be to access patios where not everyone can access and the idea was to avoid queues. There were two patios that we couldn't see because we had to leave because it was so late. Bad organization, the meeting point was in one place in the email they put two and it generated confusion we had to take a taxi and locate the guide on our own because the organization was passing by and there were several people affected by the situation
The visit was great, and the guide was the best, Rafael Rodríguez, I think that was his last name, a ten as a guide. I recommend hiring him.
Miguel Ángel our guide, super knowledgeable about the history of Córdoba and the patios. He took us to several patios and all of them were spectacular! Excellent!
Noemí was our guide on this tour of five or six Andalusian patios in Córdoba that can be seen at this time of year. It was a fun and informative visit.
We loved the visit to the patios, Noemí explained it to us very well and made the visit very enjoyable even though there were many people. Highly recommended
La visita de los Patios ha sido una experiencia muy bonita , volveremos para seguir disfrutando de tan bonita experiencia. Hemos estado un grupo de amigos y ha sido un finde muy bonito
The patios were very nice and everything was very well explained. All the patios we saw were very well done, it shows that the owners take good care of them.
Patricia, the guide, has been great, the perfect visit! We recommend it without a doubt, it has been very pleasant and has told us many curiosities
Very nice and kind guide. Very pleasant walk through the patios. Highly recommended for families with children.
