Itinerary
Meeting with the guide at the Moon Gate. The excursion begins with an interesting walking tour of the Jewish quarter, a network of narrow streets that keep beautiful corners such as Calleja de las Flores.
Next, we will visit the Alcázar, an impressive fortress with gardens that invite the walk. We will also tour its interior and admire the beautiful Hall of Mosaics and the Baths of Dona Leonor de Guzmán, among other places. *IMPORTANT WARNING!* : The Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos will be closed completely from January 7, PENDING CONFIRMATION OF A NEW OPENING DATE, so it will not be possible to visit this monument normally. Therefore, this part of the tour will be replaced by a visit to the Caliph Baths and a tour of the Old Palace Quarter with some of its most emblematic courtyards, at no additional cost and without changes to your reservation.
We will end the visit enjoying the imposing Mosque-Cathedral, one of the great jewels of the world of Muslim and Christian art. We will walk through the forest of columns and learn about its more than twelve centuries of history.

Our guide Anna, I wanted to raise a concern about some of the information given during the tour. You identified Ibn Rushd (Averroes) as Jewish, whereas he was a Muslim, a Maliki Islamic jurist and qāḍī, as well as a physician and philosopher; perhaps he was confused with Maimonides, who was Jewish. I was also surprised by the dismissive comment about early cataract surgery—particularly that there was little point to it despite patients being able to see afterwards. The pioneering hollow-needle cataract technique is generally attributed to the Muslim physician ʿAmmār al-Mawṣilī, not Ibn Rushd, and restoring sight around a thousand years ago was clearly a significant medical achievement. As a history graduate and an experienced guide, I hope you will check these points, because visitors rely on professional guides to present Córdoba's Muslim, Jewish and Christian heritage accurately and fairly. Very nice experience. Well worth it. Our guide was beautiful Isabel. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about her city. It was a pleasure to listen to her explanation and she was very patient with us, answering all our questions. It makes so much more sense seeing all those architectural wonders, it helps to appreciate them more.
I must say that the tour was a bit of a disappointment and did not meet our expectations. The guid was sick, so could barely talk and was out of breath as we walked, the information was poor and even wrong at times, and the guid missed on several milestones as we passed by. Moreover, the Alcazar building was undergoing some renovation work, so we didn't get to go inside despite paying for it (we should have been informed about this since the renovations are ongoing since June!). The good part though was the second guid, who took over from the first at the mosque/cathedral, she was excellent with rich information.
We went on a small group guided walking tour of the Jewish quarter of Cordoba with Anna. We didn't do the extended tour of the Mezquita, choosing to do that ourselves. Anna was very knowledgeable, an excellent tour guide, providing us an excellent history of the area and explaining the sites to us. The pace of the tour as good and the volume of information she provided was just right.
The tour was nice, worth the cost. Our guide Maria was very good! The Monastery-Cathedral was spectacular!! So much history ❤️
Guide’s English was not very good. She had a strong accent and was difficult to understand. I and other members of the tour didn’t think she was very knowledgable or it might have been she didn’t understand what we were asking.
I liked that we saw the Alcazar, Muslim baths, Jewish Quarter then the Mosque (Cathedral) with one guide . She was a great guide and we were able to see a lot in a timely manner.
Patricia was an excellent guide on this walking tour of the major sites in Cordoba, at all times clearly explaining the background history in very good English.
I really enjoy the knowledge that Sarai, our guide, shared with us, in a fun and amazing way. Thank you so much. Three and a half hours, seems like 30 min.
Anna was an excellent guide. Perhaps too much information. At the end of the tour I was pushed to relate all we had been told
Our guide “Isabel” was incredible!!! She was extremely knowledgeable and beyond passionate about the subject. This trip was a 20 year dream come true for me and she facilitated that beyond my wildest imagination!
Alex was a fantastic tour guide - so friendly and knowledgeable! He spoke excellent English and we learned a great deal from him not just about the history but also the culture of Cordoba and this area. It was a great tour and we hope to return to this lovely place.
Our guide was a real expert and gave us so many brilliant insights especially on the history of the Mezquita / mosque - no books I've read contain these details which makes the guided tour an invaluable way to really appreciate this unique site
We chose this tour as it covered the 3 main areas in 3 hours . There was an opportunity for a short break which was welcome . The guide Anna was informative but somehow did not bring the history alive ( we had been spoilt in Seville with a guide who achieved that ) . The group was small which was good but people came and went at the different segments didn’t have a negative impact
Excellent tour. Anna was very knowledgeable and explained everything very well. She also gaves her own opinion on various aspects. Highly recommend this tour to all.
This was a great tour, we saw so much and learned so much history. It was the perfect way to spend a few hours for a weekend trip. Our guide, Irina, was able to tell us incredible amounts of information and answer all the questions from the group. She was the most knowledgeable guide we have had. The tour was broken into three parts and the group split and picked up new guests. It didn't bother us but was interesting way to do it. We would recommend this tour if you have the time.
There were 26 people in our group each paying £39 per person that’s over a £1000 pounds for a 3 hour tour, they need to either reduce the price or do smaller groups.
It was a rough start due to the fact that the meeting point viator had was incorrect so we were stressing when our guide was not at the meeting point. The tour company even was blaming viator of having the wrong meeting point and viator said even tour company was liable. After numerous calls went out to Even and no one was picking up we called viator and 45 min later wee had a representative show up at our meeting point and took us to the rest of our tour. We missed 45 min of our tour and was trying to catch up.
Our guide Anna was exceptional: she spoke in perfectly clear english for us French people, her comments were precise and well illustrated by important historical reminders. She respected the schedule perfectly, the pace of the visit was appropriate and the discussions were interesting. It was a pleasure to listen to her speak so passionately about her city and to share her enthusiasm with us. Thanks a lot.
Excellent guided tour which covers key places in Cordoba. Guides were higthly skilled professionals. We recommend to book this tour out of summker seasson.
Our guide Emma was amazing. High energy, radiant smile and a wonderful personality overall. She was informative and has a passion for Cordoba.
To start with Vassile was an amazing guide. Knowledgeable, great communicator, engaging, good humoured, just a great person to be with. The tour is truly breath-taking. The Alcazar and Jewish quarter are brilliant but pale into insignificance next to the Mosque/Cathedral. This truly is one of the most amazing spaces I have ever visited and then overlay the history behind it and it becomes something almost beyond extraordinary. As a side comment, booking through Viator was smooth and effortless. They kept me well informed and up to date at all times. I also used them for a tour in Granada and they just delivered. Thoroughly recommend them.
Had a great tour with Anna, would highly recommend this experience to gain more insight into the history of this area and these structures.
Suzanna was an excellent guide. So enjoyed our sites and our day. Suzanna was very informative would totally recommend this tour
Fabulous 3-hour walking tour with Suzanna. Rich in history beautifully articulated by our very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide.
Susana was a very good guide; she wrangled our group masterfully despite the cacophany of other tours. The headset system was very mych appreciated.
My guide was Suzanna. She explains very well about Cordoba history from Roman, Moslem and Christian era. And not to be forgotten about Jews Quarter. I recommend the tour because it ends in Cathedral Mosque, so you have more time to admire this beautiful building. Don't forget to visit Bell Tower as the view is amazing (it's not included in the tour but you can buy the ticket separately). It was my first time visiting Cordoba and the tour makes me fall in love with the history. It's worth every penny!
Tour was enriching, providing a comprehensive and colourful perspective to the visits. I liked the cathedral- mosque most. One of its kind. The Jewish quarter was a bit disappointing as I was expecting more colourful alleys with flowers. But wrong season, hence understandable.
The tour was great and it definitely is best to see all three monuments on the same tour so as to better understand the history of Cordoba. Our guide, Sarahi (I hope I am spelling her name correctly), was extremely knowledgable and engaging…her love for her city and its history are palpable…as was her patience for the members of the tour who arrived late as well as the constant additions to the group.
Excellent. Our guide Anna was really interesting and explained things well. Cordoba has so much history and we learnt a lot in a few hours. Would definitely recommend this tour. We were lucky enough to have a private tour initially as a few people didn't arrive.
The tour was absolutely fantastic. Vasili and Susanna were truly experts. With so much over lapping history Susanna patiently explained and answered all queries despite the grilling hot weather Well done. Truly would recommend the sights and tours to whoever history appeals
Overall the guides were both good and very knowledgeable. My two critiques are these: -the guides did not seem to be consistently aware that if the microphone is not directly in front of their mouths, the sound varies considerably. In many cases I could not hear them. -there is an inappropriate distribution of time between the 3 vested areas, the Alcazar and Jewish Quarter should be given 45 minutes maximum and the extra 30 minutes added to the cathedral-mezquita visit.
The guide was passionate and knowledgeable and summarised the main points regularly for us. The Palace / Cathedral are extraordinary displaying a Mosque and Cathedral in the same location and well worth a visit. The history construction of Cordoba is amazing and requires a good guide! The Jewish history with Maminides compares with the awful torturous history of the Inquisition begs belief.
Excellent tour by Suzanna. Very informative on the background and history as we walked round Cordoba old town and the historic buildings. Highly recommended.
I was the only person booked for the Spanish-spoken tour and I they still provided me with the tour. The guide, Inma Lázaro, was incredible, very knowledgeable and friendly. I recommend you to embark on this tour as an essential, broad look at Cordoba's history. You don't need much, all the places are in the heart of Córdoba, very close to each other.
We did the complete tour in Spanish. It was over a holiday weekend and the tourist attractions were mobbed so it was definitely a good decision. We didn’t have to wait on any lines and our tour guide, Anna, was very knowledgeable about the history, art and architecture. The tour is a little over 3 hours. Be prepared to walk/ stand. The sound system (headphones vis Bluetooth) ensured everyone could hear the guide.
This was a informative and interesting tour about the Alcazar, Jewish Quarter and Mosque-Cathedral. We enjoyed the details our guide Elena shared about the sites and Spain’s history. The tour moved at a nice pace to allow us to walk the sites and take moments for rest/pictures.
Ana was an excellent guide…knowledgeable, passionate about her home town, and patient with questions. The three sites were amazing and we learned so much about Cordoba in only three hours. We highly recommend this tour!
Our guide, Anna is a lovely open minded knowledgeable guide. It was a very enjoyable tour. Thanks 😊
The entire tour was very informative and interesting. The guide, Anna, was outstanding, and I would highly recommend her
I did an english tour with one of Eventour's guides. In a short time I learned the most important things about the history of the city. The guide has explained everything in detail and comprehensible. Its a very friendly and nice company! I can really recommend Eventour to anyone who's ever in Cordoba!
We thoroughly enjoyed our guided tour with Eventour in Córdoba. Our guide Elena was very dynamic and knowledgeable. The tour was one of the highlights of our trip through Andalucia and we would highly recommended it to anyone visiting the city.
We did a tour of these 3 magnificent places with Eventour in Córdoba. The guide Anna was fantastic - very passionate and knowledgeable about Córdoba history. We learned much from her. There are a couple of improvement we would like to recommend: Our group was too big - it was around 40 people. We think around 20-22 should be max. Equipment improvement - Mal function for quite a few in the group and it was difficult for them to hear in such a big group. Otherwise it was a good experience and our highest compliment to the tour guide Anna.
Exceptional, Rafael was an excellent guide, explaining many details and immersing us in the various historical eras. Thank you.
We decided to take the full tour: Mosque, Alcázar, and Jewish Quarter. Rosa accompanied us during the entire tour, explaining to us the role of these three places in the history of all the people who lived together during that time.
I was very happy to do the tour with an eventour guide! Rafael, an art historian, skillfully immersed us in the history of Cordoba, with particular passion for that of the Mezquita-Catedral, a wonderful, unmissable monument with an incredible history. I highly recommend letting yourself be guided on this tour, and if the guide is Rafael, the "Caliph of guides," even better!
Very interesting Fabulous guide will prepare nice very Clear and communicative Magnificent places Perfect weather
Las guías son muy profesionales y conocedoras de la historia. Sandra tiene una gracia que cautiva mientras enseña!! Son las maestras de Historia que siempre quisimos tener!! Gracias!!!
With Gemma we visited the Jewish Quarter, the Alcazar Gardens (unfortunately closed for renovation), the Caliph Baths (in addition precisely because Alcazar is under renovation) and the mosque. Very nice and complete tour for those who have little time to stay in Cordoba. Very nice gem and very prepared. I recommend it!!!
