Got to try 4 local wines with an excellent expert who knew so much about the wine and tapas. “Un medio frío” will be my order in Córdoba while we’re here!! A bit of a walk from the main areas but worth it….
In his small wine shop, Francisco shared his passion about the special wines of the Cordoba region crafted from the Pedro Jimenez grapes. Over an hour or so we learned all about the region and its grapes and tasted 4 fortified wines, each paired with delicious canapés. We came away well educated and very happy. Highly recommend! Thank you Francisco.
Very enjoyable and interesting. Francisco was very friendly and knowledgeable and got everyone involved and engaged. It was good fun as well as informative. I would also mention the locally produced products were very reasonably priced and much better quality than the mass produced things you see in the main tourist streets.
We really enjoyed the wine tasting. The wines were paired with delicious tapas and were excellent. We also learnt a lot about the local wines and what to ask for in a bar or restaurant. Some very helpful tips from our well informed host.
Tasted different local wines - brilliant experience and Francisco was very knowledgable. Thank you so much!
This was a great experience. Francisco is very knowledgeable about the wines of the local area and we learnt a lot. The wines were perfectly complimented by appropriate tapas. A very convivial hour spent with other visitors.
Host was amazing. His presentations of every wine were the most informative of any wine tasting we’ve ever been to. Wines were great and paired with tapas.
Great host, conversation was amazing; authentic experience of Córdoba wine culture, we even left with a bottle to share with others.
Francisco welcomed us as we walked in to his shop for what turned out to be a private tasting for my wife and I. He did a great job of explaining the place of Cordoba's unique wines among the variety of Spanish wines. We tasted four distinct wines each produced from the Pedro Ximenez grape grown in the region. Each was paired with a different food combination that maximized the qualities of the respective wines. Additionally, he gave us tips for how to identify Cordoban wines and order them in local restaurants, and suggested a particular restaurant which was a great lead. If you are interested exploring a part of the wine and food culture that is particular to the Cordoba region, this experience is highly recommended.
A brilliant introduction to unexpected wines. So thoughtfully prepared. Making connections to other wines, spirits and liquors. Highly recommended.
Fun way to taste and learn about the local wines and how they are made in a cute little wine shop that sells only local products.
I truly enjoyed the experience. We tasted 4 different wines (paired with bread. cheese, meats, and olives) from the region. Francisco was very knowledgeable and informative. I highly recommend this tour. Thank you!
I really enjoyed this wine/tapas experience. The wines were only from the Cordoba area and they were paired expertly with the tapas. It was an excellent way to learn aboutI local foods, wines and customs.
Walking into this event i thought “Oh, this might not be what i wanted.” Leaving, “That was great!” It was held in a little shop and the tasting was run by the owner. It was fun, informative and i would certainly recommend it. I’ll add that I am not a white wine fan, but left with a Cordaba appreciation that I have been enjoying during our stay here
Lovely personal experience with a really knowledgable wine expert who is very enthusiastic about his local produce. Highly recommend doing this at the start of your trip to Cordoba, you learn so much about local wines and what to ask for in restaurants and bars. Wines all very well paired with tapas. A perfect experience.
A great experience. The host was exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed sampling and learning about the local wines from Cordoba. We would highly recommend this experience.
We had this experience to ourselves. Unlike other food and wine experiences where we go from place to place this is held in a little shop specialising in local wine and products of Cordoba. Francisco knew a lot about local Pedro Ximenez wines and took us through each type. We tasted the wine with very well matched antipasta. He gave us some great restaurant recommendations and these didn't disappoint.
Francisco was great and had with many helpful tips! I definitely followed his recommendations for wine the rest of my time in Granada. The tasting itself was great, we tried 4 different wines and learned a ton about the process and the local grapes. It’s a quick class that’s easy to fit into a day of sightseeing. I would recommend it highly!
It was a small group which was great. Interesting to learn obout the different wines made from the same grapes.
Great experience! Variety of wines, different tapas dishes and a great host who knew all about the wines and their history. Lovely family business and definitely worth visiting if you’re in Cordoba!
Our guide was ill, so he asked his father to do our tour for us! If I tried this at work, things would not go well, but in this case, it turned out to be quite fortunate for us! His father is a retired chef from a Michelin star restaurant and certainly knows a thing or two about wine! He provided several wines to sample as well as delicious charcuterie. There was only one other person besides my husband and I, and it was really nice all getting to know one another as well as learning about great local wines.
This was a great evening tasting of local wines, paired with excellent, tapas. The host was welcoming and knowledgeable and was able to converse in a number of languages. Highly recommended whether you're really interested in wine or just want an interesting and fun hour.
Great expérience, lots of information about local wine and how it is grown. 20min walk from old town, but well worth it
Not what I expected for wine tasting. Information good but atmosphere and location terrible. Could have more variety of local wines. And go to different locations
Francisco was great! Cutest little shop - great pairings and learned a lot about the city’s specific wines. We also met some fellow travelers and all went to dinner! Worth it!
The tasting is all Cordobán wine - very unusual. The proprietor is quite passionate about the wine and the city. Cute shop.
Very nice experience. Our guide was super knowledgeable and quick to answer any questions we might have. Recommended for sure. Learn some history about what the locals drink and feel.
Wonderful tasting to learn about the pedro ximenez wines from the region. Really fascinating and unique experience. From this tasting on, I was able to navigate wine menus from Cordoba to Sevilla and could order myself a Fino or Oloroso with confidence (surprising the waiters). Nothing wrong with the ubiquitous sangria but it was special to be able to order local wines during my visit -- and that was all thanks to Francisco. We also learned a lot about how these wines are made and the different types. The food pairing was excellent as well, and for us, it was enough for dinner. Thanks for a wonderful tasting, Francisco. I'm glad I didn't have so much I could not do your bike tour the next day!
A really good setting, and a fun group dynamic. I was travelling solo, so it was the perfect way to socialise and get to meet some other lovely people. The set-up, in the quaint wine shop was cool and the wines & food served were an ideal way to start a night.
Our host was knowledgeable and very passionate about the local wines of Cordoba. It was an interesting and enjoyable experience.
Was a great evening tasting wines of the region. Host was very knowledgeable and the tapas were very tasty! Highly recommend this tasting tour.
Very relaxed and informative session with some excellent wines and tapas. Our host Francisco was very friendly and helped make the experience more enjoyable.
Great intro to local Cordoba wines. Loved the background info and wonderful tapas! Great value! FYI this experience takes about 20 minutes walking from town center and about 1 hour for the experience itself.
We had a fantastic time during this wine tasting and learned so much about Pedro Ximenez grape type and Montilla-Moriles wines. I would highly recommend this experience when visiting Cordoba if you are into wine.
A really interesting presentation about the wines of Montilla Moriles. We tasted very good wines with accompanying tastings of local food.
Francisco us an excellent & knowledgable host. He took us on an interesting & informative tour through wines of the region, expertly match with tapa. The information ensured we got more out of our overall dining experiences in Córdoba. Take time to browse the shop at the end, many memorable treasures to take back home.
The wine tasting was held in a lovely shop which sells local products. Our host guided our palates through 4 local wines, explaining the grape, the winemaking process and the similarities and differences with other Spanish wines and regions.
Fun and knowledgeable experience learning about the wines of Cordoba. Francisco was very helpful and knowledgeable. The wines and paired tapas were on point.
We have done quit a few of wine tastings over the years, so we thought we knew what we were in to. But no.... this was something else. Something different. But something we really liked😁. We tasted four different wines - all from the the grape Pedro Ximénez. Sounds a little bit boring, but no.... It was really interesting and fun to notice how wine/grapes evolves differently and how they can evolve on the "sweet-dry scale". We also got three different (cold) tapas with the wine, and they were also great. So all in all - loved it and recommend it.
I loved learning more about the wine of the Montilla-Moriles and trying a delicious range of the Pedri Ximenez. The host was so knowledgeable and passionate about wine and answered all our questions. Such a great little shop too!
Very informative. All local grapes - different wine making processes. Enjoyed learning and some great new wines.
When we arrived we were surprised to find out that it was just the 2 of us-great!! Francisco knew his wines, had great pairings and we learned a few things along the way. It was a great evening. Francisco also does Nike/ guided tours, had we known that, we would have booked with him. Thanks Francisco!!
Great experience! Small group! Nice wines! Away from the crowded tourist places of Cordoba. Highly recommended.
The Pedro Ximinez was delicious! Excellent finisher. Francisco was very knowledgeable and the food pairings worked very well.
Not worth it. Host was rude. Questioned why we needed a taxi when we left. We were in the middle of a neighborhood and no Uber
A quaint and very informative wine presentation. It was fun to learn new verbiage to identify Cordoba wines and our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging.
Great evening with local wines and an introduction to the wine habbits of the people of Córdoba. Everything was local and the evening was very down to earth.
We had a great wine testing session with Francisco. Francisco taught us about the 4 different wines and had prepared tapas to pair with each wine. Despite disliking olives in the UK we really loved the green olives! It was just the 2 of us for the session so we asked many questions about the wines/region/production and Francisco was happy to answer everything. There are some lovely products for sale too.
This was part of my fiancé's birthday gift, we both really enjoyed the experience. The narrator / host - was very knowledgeable and a great story teller. The tapas and wines tasted were incredible. We will be returning.
