Itinerary
We will walk around the Jewish Quarter to visit the Synagogue, Arabic market and bronze statue of the medieval Sephardic philosopher, Maimonides.
The Zoco Artesanal de Córdoba is a charming market located in the heart of the Jewish quarter, where local artisans showcase their talent in ceramics, leather and filigree.
Visit the spectacular beauty of the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, one of the most visited monuments in Spain. Conserving the decorative style of an Islamic mosque, construction of the magnificent monument began in the 8th century. Later extensions vastly increased its size, turning it into the second biggest mosque in the world before it became a Catholic cathedral.

A very informative tour of Córdoba’s Jewish Quarter and the magnificent Mosque-Cathedral. Our guide brought the fascinating history, culture and architecture to life, sharing insights into the city’s rich and diverse heritage. The tour was well-paced, quite a lengthy walk on flat terrain. Guide was engaging and a fantastic way to appreciate the remarkable history of Córdoba. Highly recommended!
Excellent, highly informed and personable guides.
Great tour to learn about these historic venues. Very crowded which sometimes affected the quality of the sound coming through the headphones. The guides were fun and knowledgeable.
Brilliant tour and informative and excellent guide. Took around 4 hours but well worth it and great value for money.
This was a fabulous choice La Mesquita-Catedral and the historic Jewish neighborhood was the right show for us.
Really good tour of the Mosque-Cathedral and Jewish quarter. Our guide, Paloma, had great knowledge of the history of the buildings we visited and gave us very interesting information. We learned so much and we would never have had such a wonderful experience on our own without the tour guide. Highly recommended.
A lot of history of the Jewish quarter and Mosque/ Cathedral. Very impressive and the guide was amazing. Must do.
Fun tour with great, knowledgeable guide. This is our 2nd tour of the Mezquita, and we found this tour more informative than the one we took last year. Our guide (I think his name was Juan?!) was funny and kept us all right in line. My only complaint was about the equipment, which it seems we might not be the only ones. Static-y, tinny, very hard to hear. This company absolutely has to upgrade their equipment at some point, very soon. Other than that, would recommend.
The tour was well organised and really interesting with just the right amount of information presented in a clear and entertaining style by our guide, José. The Mezquita is spectacular and the tour left us with a good understanding of the history of the place and the connection between two religions and cultures. The Jewish quarter completed the hat trick. I would definitely recommend this tour.
The mosque cathedral was unbelievably impressive, the varied architecture, Arab origins with Christian chapels and statues was unlike anything I had ever seen. Absolutely spectacular. Jose did an amazing job of describing the cathedral and its origins while calling our attention to the details of the columns, architecture, ceilings, and the beautiful chapels. The history of the Jewish Quarter was fascinating. This tour presented great information, was extremely informative and well presented by Jose.
Probably the worst tour we have ever experienced. Unprofessional Faulty equipment Forced to abandon because we could not hear the guide. Office staff unhelpful and completely dismissed our concerns
The Guide took us around well and brought us closer to the city and its monuments. BUT the audio headphone system was terrible. I could hardly get a complete sentence and if there was audio, it had more background noise than the voice of the guide. The audio also got interrupted all the time which ruined the entire experience in the end. It was better to try listening without the headphones. I can therefore not recommend this operator at all.
The mosque was amazing - enormous - arch after arch. Disappointing that the synagogue was closed at it was a Monday. Good guide although sometimes a little difficult to understand.
We had a great tour of the very unique Mosque/Cathedral and Jewish Quarter in Cordoba. You will never see a building like this one! Jose was great, very animated and informative. He even gave us a great tapas restaurant to try for dinner on the river, it was fantastic!
A súper recomendable tour. The mosque is amazing and the jewish quarter is line a tour to the past. Our guide was excelent! We recomendar the tour.
Both my friend and I found the tour incredibly informative thanks to our amazing guide, Azara. She kept us engaged with endless interesting facts, made the two hours fly by, and was always happy to answer our questions! Visiting such extraordinary and historically rich places definitely deserves a great guide to truly appreciate them
Very informative tour! The tour guide - Azara was great, she knew the answers to all our questions and explained everything in great detail. My friend and I were very impressed.
Really interesting and informative walk. Wear loose clothing and sensible shoes because it is very hot during the day.
great tour and our guide was good . very interesting and a amazing place. she had liads of knowledge
I found the tour guide personable, but the information provided lacked depth, and unfortunately accuracy in many areas. Further, the substantive information provided about the Jewish quarter was overshadowed by his recommendations for food, restaurants, artisans and crafts and other activities in the area. If you want to learn about the Jewish quarter you’re better spending your money on the Sephardic museum and reading about the synagogue before visiting it. The mosque Cathedral was exceptional, but we could have learned more about the art and the culture rather than the structure.
Excellent guide! Beautiful monument. One of the best sites in all Spain, especially with a great guide.
This was a fantastic tour. It was organized, the headsets were great (had your own volume so you could adjust the sound). The guide was fantastic! Her English was great, and she was engaging and interesting. You spend an hour walking around the Jewish quarter - it was beautiful. Our guise kept us in the shade which was very helpful in 105 degree temps. We didn’t stay in any place too long, which was nice. It was informative and interesting. We had 15 minutes between the Jewish quarter (all outdoors) and before we entered the mosque/cathedral. We were able to grab a Starbucks iced coffee, use the restroom and sit for a bit. The guide went and picked up some additional tour guests and we went inside the mosque/cathedral. Women must cover their shoulders, men remove hats - as with most religious buildings in Spain. Men & boys could wear shorts and sandals were fine as well. The tour inside was lovely and then time at the end to explore on our own. This was one of the most organized and best led tours we have had. I cannot remember the guides name - but she was wonderful - knowledgeable, friendly and kind. She wore a Taylor Swift Eras T-shirt, which my teen girls loved. Really top notch tour.
Quite unsatisfactory and disappointing. The guide had a strong accent (expected) and low voice which was very hard to hear over the radio (poor quality radio) and comprehend. Monotonous. Failed to make this an interesting narrative.
The Mosque is stunning and exceptionally interesting historically. The synagogue was also very special. Christina, Our guide was very knowledgeable, focused and serious. She gave us extra tips about restaurants and other sites worth visiting. Thank you so much!
Great history about the Jewish, Moslem and Christian history of the city! Our guide Cristina was fantastic and was extremely knowledgeable! I would thoroughly recommend this tour!
Our guide was very knowledgeable, spoke well and able to answer questions. We travelled in June where the tourist traffic is high - so sometimes it gets difficult to take pictures with the crowd around and we have to be quick as there’s not enough time to take pictures.
The company should be posting what the dress code is first and foremost. My husband and I almost missed our tour as you had to dig into the information to see that there was a dress code. However upon arriving in our changed clothing there were others doing the tour that were inappropriately dressed (according to the requirements on the site) including the tour guide that still were on the tour. People had on flip flops, shorts and tank tops for this tour! So what is it? Can you wear whatever you want or is there a dress code. This needs to be sorted out on your website.
We only had a day here and this tour enabled us to see and learn so much. Our guide was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to listen to.
Very good tour covering the Jewish Quater and Cathedral / Mosque. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. There was a lot to take in. The only thing they would have been nice would have been 10 - 15 minutes to wonder and take photos or sit in the Cathedral at the end.
The tour of the Abbey/mosque was excellent, marred only by the very poor sound system they use, where the Guide has a microphone andyou wear a receiver with headphones. They should really invest in a better quality system as the tour of the Jewish Quarter meant the noise in the street was very high and it wasvery difficult to understand what the excellent guide was actually saying!
Excellent way to see the highlights of Cordoba when time restricts
Jose's tour of the Mosque / Cathedral in Cordoba was excellent. Well paced and very informative. Jose was easy to understand, calm and kind. Can highly recommend this tour and guide. The Jewish Quarter tour was also good, lots of content. The guide Paloma (?) was very good too, and she did a great job navigating our pretty large group of 27 people through the tight and busy lanes. However, with her Spanish accent she was a bit harder to understand.
Very attractive public area, with spacious shared bedroom space. Lockers are too small for check-on luggage, my lown ocks did not fit, bur I trusted roommates and all was well. This is my second such experience with little secure luggage area, plus the hostel states they are not responsible for lost items. Lockers need to be larger, with fitting locks available to purchase!
Jose did a good job giving us history and truly a good way to see the Cathedral/Mosque. The only negative was that the group was large, when we signed up for a small group,
I think the tour was great. We had Azhara as our tour guide and she was absolutely wonderful and even stayed a little after to answer questions. She didn’t rush through the tour which is common for big groups. I would say the bad thing is you can’t go back into the mosque cathedral and we didn’t get much time to walk around ourselves which is a shame because the place is ginormous and absolutely stunning.
While the mosque cathedral is magnificent ( 5 star experience ) the tour guiding was low quality. 1) the headphones were terrible with heavy static - I removed them and guided myself with Gemini while walking along with the group 2) the guide spoke very fast English which compounded by the accent was very difficult. Other options including booking a skip the line directly with the official Audio headset can be considered.
Great tour guide, loved the history, the gorgeous mosque and the beautiful cathedral. It was well paced and very informative.
Our Guide at Jewish Quarter and Mezquita parted valuable knowledge of the history. Oway Travel organised the tour efficiently. Thank you
A great tour with very knowledgeable and friendly guides. An in depth experience of this historic city.
Fascinating insights into the history of Cordoba from a well versed and very pleasant tour guide…2.5 hours well spent!
The tour is broken into two parts, each with a different guide; the Jewish Quarter outside and then the Mosque/Catedral inside. The Jewish Quarter part was extremely crowded with many tour guides operating at the same time. We lost sight of our guide several times and she had to do a head count and do a roll call before proceeding. The guide for the Mosque/Cathedral part was amazing and very knowledgeable.
Don’t try to change the number of people in your booking. Despite trying to reduce our party from 3 to 2 36 hours before the tour we were told the minimum number for this activity had not been met. There were over 20 people on the tour!!!
Poor experience getting onto the right tour. The confirmation email with information links had error messages. The tour group lead didn’t find us and we missed the tour. This was a fail on Viator to provide the service promised
English tour but became a Spanish tour which detracted from the information our guide was trying to provide
Our tour guide, Jose, was informative and incredibly kind. He was careful to keep us together as a group given the amount of people in the area. For a day trip from Seville, the 2.5hr tour was perfect. If you are under time constraints (and want a guided English language tour), I recommend doing this one.
Azahara is knowledgeable, conveys information and illustrative anecdotes directly and understandably. She speaks English very well and clearly.
An immersive tour of the mosque cathedral and Jewish quarter. Jose was a great guide who was informative and funny. We loved this experience.
The group was medium in size and the city was crowded however our guide was masterful in moving us and communicating clearly and energetically
Tour was split between two guides one who showed us the Jewish quarter and the other who led us through the mosque. Both were wonderful! We learned a lot and really enjoyed the tour.
