Great boat trip, small group, only 4 of us and the captain who was completely knowledgeable about the whole area and history of where we visited, would definitely recommend

Itinerary
This 2-hour "Hidden gems" tour will take you to Hey Captain's favorite spots, which are off the beaten track from the standard canal tour routes in the inner town. We will explore upcoming residential areas of either the South or North harbor, where the Venice-inspired residential homes and buildings are emerging in areas formerly used for industrial purposes. As we explore the upcoming areas you will see how former industrial buildings are being transformed into new spaces, where new and old are mixed in the architectural structures. You will gain a sense of the city and how the Danish lifestyle and design influences the development of the harbor, more than an overload of historical facts.

We really enjoyed our boat trip. Rebekah did a excellent job. She new a lot about the area and we where quite happy to see places we would not have seen otherwise. Will highly recommend
Joanna was so pleasant and enjoyable and we had the best time. We learned so much about this beautiful city!
Great fun on the Hidden Gems tour. Beautiful boat, very comfortable despite the Copenhagen weather! Guide was very engaging, smart and informative. We learned a lot. Much better value than one of those giant boats. Highly recommend.
It was a cold rainy day but Magnus made the tour fun and enjoyable, asking the group great questions, sharing his perspectives on living in Copenhagen, and yes, also showing us the sights from the boat. Give Magnus a raise!
Magnus, the captain, was both very knowledgeable and very funny. Even though it was cold, rainy, and windy, I really enjoyed it!
This was my third visit to Copenhagen and this experience was ideal as it shows guests lesser known spots. We had Magnus as our guide and he was great. He had lots of interesting facts and insider knowledge and recommendations of places to see and dine. There were only 3 of us but that made the experience more enjoyable as we chatted amongst ourselves and shared stories of our respective countries, the time went by very quickly. We were so lucky with the weather and had a dry sunny day but we were all grateful of the blankets provided. It’s a great concept to encourage social interactions and worth doing.
The sun was shining as we strolled along past the Playhouse to get to our 13:10 hidden gems booking. We were warmly greeted at the meeting point and relaxed on our bench, with our departure time listed on the table. After a little banter with the host, our Captain Magnus arrived. We had a couple from Australia with us. It was my partners birthday and Magnus made us feel really special. Within minutes Magnus had helped us all get to know each other and we were the best of friends. The tour itself was well balanced and adjusted to suit our interests. Magnus was interesting, mixing history with recent developments. The entire tour was offered through his lens as a local young man. The trip to the fortification and the view over the Sound was phenomenal and not expected. Well worth the extra price vs the generic floating buses you see going about. Also the electric engine made normal discussion possible and pleasurable along with no diesel fumes! Thoroughly recommended. Thank you Magnus!
Excellent experience. Nice concept of learning about the other participants and learning the history of Copenhagen. A bit chilly in October.
We had Jacob's last tour of the day and it also happened to be his last day with Hey Captain. He was wonderful and answered all our zillion questions. We had a little squall that only lasted several minutes and we did have to put up the 'lid' for a short while. We were 5 of the 12 available spots & when no one else booked that slot it ended up being a private tour. We learned a bit about being young in a housing market that is very tough and about the architecture and how sun plays a big part in how office buildings must be constricted - thanks Jacob! Would definitely recommend this company.
Really enjoyed the experience, well worth it. Our guide was fun and informative and would highly recommend.
The best type of travel experience. A small group, an itinerary that took us to hidden and more obscure places I. Copenhagen’s waterways. Lovely that participants were encouraged to share stories about themselves. Captain Ida was outstanding.
I have been recommending this activity to everyone-so enjoyable, informative, and honest!
Elias was fun, knowledgeable, and warm. It was a very pleasant experience worth the price.
Excellent short canal tour. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable and the tour was a lot of fun.
By chance we ended up having a tour as the only guests on our boat, along with captain Lea. We absolutely loved hearing about life in Copenhagen as well as getting up close to some of the new developments on the waterfront. Lea was keen to share lots of really interesting facts and clearly loved Copenhagen. Two hours just flew by. We would highly recommend this company which has a very tailored and social approach to boat tours. Excellent!
8 of us booked based on google reviews. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 hours with Ida. She was a fabulous tour guide. We were able to get off the boat about 1/2 way through the trip and walk around and inside the fortress. It was a very windy day but we did not encounter any rain.
Captain Phillip was great! We had a wonderful time.
I don’t think we could’ve had a better captain than Philip! He has the perfect personality for this work and was fun, kind, knowledgeable, and we always felt completely safe. We learned a lot about the hidden gems of Copenhagen, and he even had us sharing things about our own experiences, so we all got to know one another better.
Captain Phillip made the trip. He had a wealth of knowledge to share about the history of Denmark and Copenhagen as well as lots of cultural information. He asked us all to share something we were grateful for which turned out to be a heartwarming experience. Kudos to Captain Phillip!
Great cruise. The concept of social sailing is a winner. We had an interesting perspective of seeing Copenhagen from the water, and hearing about the Danish way of living from a local. Highly recommended this.
Excellent tour. Seb was a fun and informative guide.
We recently did the 2 hour tour with 4 other couples. We all agreed that the tour was not what we expected as far as seeing the canals of Copenhagen. We basically slowly drove around the harbor and a little bit around some new expensive construction on one canal as well as stopped at a fort that wasn’t very interesting. Went by the little mermaid from the rear. Not sure where the hidden gems were. We did enjoy meeting one another. I wish we had another day In Copenhagen to take one of the other Canal tours.
My husband, adult son, and I had a wonderful time with Sebastian. One other person was scheduled to join the tour but didn’t show up, so it ended up being just the three of us with Sebastian—and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It rained during our tour, but it didn’t take away from the experience at all. Sebastian’s enthusiasm and engagement never changed; he guided us as though it were a perfect-weather day. He was knowledgeable and passionate, but also very open, attentive, and genuinely interested in sharing the experience with us. What stood out most to me, though, was Sebastian himself and the little things that revealed his character. At one point, we had the opportunity to watch a charter plane take off. Sebastian paused so we could enjoy it, but he also recorded the takeoff for a previous passenger who had been disappointed that he didn’t get to see one during his tour. Sebastian had promised the gentleman he would send him a video the next time he saw one—and he remembered that promise. I thought that was incredibly thoughtful. I also noticed how much respect he has for the water and for the people sharing it. At one point, he deliberately slowed the boat and explained that he didn’t want to create too many waves for a nearby kayaker. It was such a small moment, but it said a lot about him. Sebastian is knowledgeable and passionate about what he does, but there is also a genuine kindness and thoughtfulness about him that made our time together feel special. Even with the rain, we had a fantastic experience and would absolutely recommend touring with him.
We really enjoyed our Hey Captain 2 hour experience today. Our captain was not only knowledgeable but very friendly and asked us to share a little about ourselves. That encouraged the small group to ask questions and get to know each other adding to the friendly atmosphere. Our captain took us to some very interesting places off the beaten track like a former military site that was used during WWI and during the Nazi occupation. We also saw sites near the harbor and learned about how Copenhagen tries to maintain good government as well as some of the challenges they face. Well worth the cost. Would highly recommend.
Such a fun & interesting outing. Samuel was a great guide, very knowledgeable about Copenhagen, both past & present. We thought the 2-hour tour was the perfect amount of time. If you’re looking for a typical, monotone “…and on your right…” type of tour, this is not for you! Highly recommend.
Excellent tour! Well worth the time and a very enjoyable experience. Elliot, our captain, made us feel right at home and we all loved getting to see so many Copenhagen sights. Would highly recommend.
One of the best experiences you can have in Copenhagen! We did the "Hidden Gems" tour and we liked it so much, that we took another tour one day later in order to see everything!
Wow - what an excellent experience. Our tour guide / driver Rebecca was excellent and took time in sharing the sights of the harbour with us. Highly recommend booking with this company.
Highly recommend this boat ride! Excellent tour! You get to experience Copenhagen from the water, learn about the various areas, ask questions and relax in the boat. I was with my 20 year old daughter and we both loved it! So much better than the big tour boats. More intimate You will be in full sun if that matters to you. They provide sunscreen and blankets if needed.
Which hidden gems ? Just a boring harbour tour. No hidden jems inside the town on the touristic spots. I assumed the small boat would get into spots where big boats could not come. Hughe disappointment
We did the two hour tour and absolutely loved it! Janis was a phenomenal tour guide, and we met lovely people from all over the world on our boat. Best of all, the boat comfortably accommodates fewer than a dozen people total, so it felt like a truly intimate and fun experience. There were so much of Copenhagen that I did not even know existed! The boat in which we did our tour was pristinely maintained, and they even had a cooler with beverages to purchase while on board. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Copenhagen!
What a great way to both spend a few hours on the water and learn a whole lot about Copenhagen (both the city and life there). Devon was our tour guide and was great company, smart and knowledgeable and took us to see some really cool aspects of Copenhagen. While we booked expecting to be part of a larger group, it was just my family of 3 and Devon and it worked just as well. Highly recommend!
I believe that too much emphasis was placed on getting to know each person on the tour rather than exploring and explaining the harbour and the history of Copenhagen. We thought that the smaller group and boats would be able to get into areas the larger boats couldn't, but we were disappointed to find out that the inner harbour was not part of the tour.
Great way to see Copenhagen and to learn much new about the city. Ida was very engaged, empathetic and knowledgeable Captiain who also adapted the route to our knowledge and preferences. Everything was right from the booking through to the pick-up and final financial settlement uncomplicated. Thanks.
Best tour in Copenhagen! This was a FIVE STAR tour! The weather was perfect. Our guide Nadia was engaging, fun and very informative. It's called "social sailing" for a reason! We loved getting to know Nadia, our driver/guide and the other couple on our cruise from Paris. The tour was amazing but the connections we made were even better. If we don't hear from Mark and Valerie from Paris and if Nadia doesn't show up in Texas some day, we are going to be so disappointed! Boom this tour. You will not regret it!
Excellent trip from start to finish. Great captain who put everyone at ease. Full 2 hours of fun and facts. Would recommend.
FABULOUS tour! Steve, the guide was so funny, so fun! Tour was so great I’d do it again. Thanks HEY CAPTAIN!
This is a great way to see Copenhagen from the water. A small group-9 of us. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the sites. Showing us before and after pictures of several sites. We went to and explored an old fort. Learned about life styles of Copenhagen. He told us about many buildings and what made them unique. This was one of our better tours while in Europe. Ben knew interesting facts about the people, places and animals in the area. He was very friendly and we enjoyed our tour.
Great experience! Our guide, Elliot, was knowledgeable and convivial. We not only got an overview of the city and its buildings, but also visited an island with a cool former fortress. The boat was clean and well equipped. Great way to see the city!
We had a great time with our guide Tyce. We enjoyed the social aspect, hearing about each or our companions and also learning about Copenhagen.
We loved our guide, Nadia. She was informative while facilitating conversations with other travelers. We felt like we got a great overview of the city and enjoyed the conviviality and companionship. The sailing was the best way to see Copenhagen.
We had a great time on our cruise with Tyce! Loved getting to see and learn more about Copenhagen and also getting to know everyone on the boat. We loved Tyce and the boat tour!
Loved Jan, our captain. He made the cruise special.
Enjoyed a 2 hour canal tour with tour group Hey Captain (Devin). Devin was awesome, very knowledgeable about the area and sites we toured. Easy to find and would highly recommend this small group tour!
Leah was our guide and she was excellent, super knowledgeable and relaxed and friendly. Saw loads of parts of Copenhagen we wouldn’t have otherwise seen. Not a touristy trip but an interesting one. Would recommend
We did the 2 hour Hidden Gems tour with Caroline and it was excellent. Both of us discussed that it would definitely be on our list if we come to Copenhagen again. A great way to see the sites and get recommendations - so we suggest doing it early in. your trip. The boats are clean an quiet and there are nice drinks available onboard. Caroline was so easy to chat with, knowledgable and open to adjust the trip to see what we wanted to see. We will reccommend this to everyone we know going to Copenhagen.
Our guide Mateus was excellent. When they say social sailing this isnt for the introvert who doesn’t want to share about themselves. But it wasn’t full life story either. It was great getting to hear stories from the guide as well as the other passengers and knowing where they’re from. Had a great cruise and saw things we hadn’t seen on walking tours and our own journeys around the city. The boat has refreshments (for an additional fee) so if you don’t want to bring your own water you’re covered. All-in-all well worth the time and the two hours. We would have taken the three hour tour, but those were sold out at the times we could go. Enjoy! We did!
My husband and I had a wonderful experience on the tour with Ben. We enjoyed having a small party on the boat which gave us all an opportunity to interact and ask questions. Ben was personable and informative.
We took a 2 hour tour of the waterways around Copenhagen with Devon. It was absolutely the best way to cap off our trip. Seeing this city from the water is a whole new perspective. The tour takes you around some of the "gems" of Copenhagen and we even got out and explored an abandoned military fort with some crazy artifacts and information in there. (I won't spoil the surprise, Devon!) We got to see some new and upcoming neighborhoods and communities. The "idea" on these tours is to have the participants interact and be social as we sail. This is always a mixed bag as it weighs heavily on the actual people in the boat. But... in case there was a need, there was beer and wine aboard to help people break out of their shell. This is kind of tour would be great to put at the front end of a trip to Copenhagen so you can see some of the sites you may want to explore more after the cruise. The boat is comfortable and the waterways calm. We had an excellent time.
