Itinerary
Welcome to the Home of Carlsberg! At Home of Carlsberg, you step inside an iconic area with an exhibition and attraction in the heart of Carlsberg's original brewery. You will be taken back to where it all started in 1847 with the story of what Carlsberg was and is today. The exhibition unfolds the captivating story of Carlsberg and Carlsberg's founder, J.C. Jacobsen, and his son, Carl Jacobsen. A story about how disputes between father and son and widely differing perceptions of beer brewing have shaped Carlsberg. Through interactive games and videos in the exhibition, you will learn more about the science that has played an essential role for Carlsberg since its foundation and its importance for the development of beer worldwide. You will also experience one of the world's largest bottle collections, with more than 22,000 beer bottles. And that is just a fraction of what the exhibition contains.

Awesome experience, modern, interactive and just smart. 100% recommendation for everyone
So good !! A must go when visiting Copenhagen, the place itself is really cool and feels historic. The exhibit is so informative with interactive games and videos to keep you locked into a story rather than endless reading. Worth the value for money as you get a pint in the carlsberg bar at the end and a taster at the beginning. We enjoyed the Liverpool FC part especially, if you’re a Liverpool fan definitely worth a visit! And you can get a cute photobooth picture too ✨
Amazing tour! I added the taste tour which was 30 mins (155dkk) and I brought this at the front desk where I collected my ticket. Overall, it was a great tour. Very easy to follow (it's self guided) but as directions so super easy to follow. The beer at the end was lovely and I loved it. Highlight of my trip!
Highly interactive and very educational. I enjoyed every minute of it.
Fabulous display covering history, technology and passion of both father and son. This was a very informative, modern exhibition that I spent at least two hours immersed in. Lots of details about the history of making Carlsberg beer and the different foci taken by two dedicated men. Amazing to learn how much they have contributed to science and society in their quest for the perfect beer.
This is an excellent self-guided tour. It is very well done. The history of the Carlsberg company was fascinating and interesting.
Fantastic experience. Spent 4 hours there so plan a whole day for it. Just make sure you take pictures as there wasn't a lot saved on the wristband.
This was an excellent tour. The brewery is quite historical and they did an effective job at communicating it. Very tastefully done! The pour at the end was a great way to showcase their various brands. They have a fantastic IPA…
A really great tour, well worth a visit if you are in Copenhagen
Good tour worth it. Well designed and signposted. Interactive activities plus beer at end of tour
A great experience, suitable for all ages, it's interesting and we'll curated. Recommended for families with older children.
Fun informative tour, really interesting and suitable for all family.
Very well done visit. Very interesting. Well worth going to.
We both enjoyed the self guided tour and found it interesting and quite informative. It was a nice surprise to start off the tour with a sample of the breweries beverage. At the end of the tour, we were also offered a free pint of our choice. All of the staff were extremely helpful, and it was a real treat, getting to see the horses in the stable.
The Carlsberg Brewery museum offers a really well planned and interesting experience, which i enjoyed very much.
Great tour for anyone who is a fan of beer, or history for that matter. Who knew that Mr Carlsberg did so much for Copenhagen!
A very well organised and professional visit- clearly well structured and money invested to make a lovely experience - a brilliant place to visit
Great experience! The tickets are good price and the experience was organised very well. We got some drinks too during the brewery tour and really enjoyed our time there!
Interesting tour of the historic brewery. High quality exhibition with a focus on the history of the family and how they built their business; lots of old equipment to see but less information about that. Interactive elements that were fun but a bit limited (for example, designing your own beer label but turned out to be from a small number of templates). You get a decent glass of beer at the end from a selection of about five different ones, including a non-alcoholic option. There are horses to see in the stables too. We spent about 1.5 hours there. Easily walkable from Carlsberg S-Bahn station. Nice shop with lots of different beer-related items.
Great way to preserve and demonstrate legacy. Very authentic and well curated - a must visit for sure
Excellently managed experience with friendly staff and an outstanding a/v presentation encapsulating Carlsberg’s origin story. Beer tasting experience was a unique opportunity to visit the original cellar and learn about different beer styles. Loved the stables with resident Clydesdales and really glad such a profitable business maintains the philanthropic ethos of its founding father and son.
Excellent tour of brewery and a wonderful meal in the restaurant
A genuinely interesting experience! The brewery is lovingly preserved, with as many modern amenities added as possible, without detracting from the aesthetic. The history of the Jacobsens drive, passion and philanthropy was one I knew very little about prior to visiting. With contributions to the Sciences as well as Danish society, Carlsberg is more than just great beer. I would highly recommend any visitor to Copenhagen to have this on their list of places to go! Plus complementary beer is included, so Skål! 🍻
Great experience with well presented and interesting history
Very good museum, highly interactive. A lot of history.
Awesome experience. You can learn a lot about. Carlsberg family and their history.
Very interesting exhibition, fun interactive parts. Fantastic restaurant next door! Highly recommend.
A good afternoon out, nice location and vibe.
The Carlsberg experience is a fun day out at the self guided interactive museum. It is packed with fun audiovisual clips and beer related games. We had a great time!
The experience was very informative, the added bonus of a mini drink at the beginning and one at the end really helped. The shop had a lot of nice merchandise, and the stables were interesting as well. It was easy to get to from the main area of Copenhagen via bus although it did take about 30 minutes.
Everything was exc ellent, nice and interesting, even for someone who doesnt like beer
I strongly recommend visiting
A bit out of city so metro train then good ten minute walk. Food and drinks there. Really worth the trip. So much of the old brewery, well kept , is there. Great experience with videos and history. Finish with a Carlsberg free beer. Don’t miss this experience.
Absolutely loved the experience. Everything is so well planned and thought through. Super easy to navigate the exhibition, and we really enjoyed the interactive activities - and ofc the beer, which is probably the best in the world;) Spent about 2-3 hours there and felt like the admission fees were fair. Staff was super friendly. We came on a Sunday afternoon and avoided a huge crowd. Very cozy atmosphere. Most of the exhibitions were inside so it didn’t matter that we got a bit of rain.
The experience was great and very thoughtful about its history and connection with the beer brand. The admission fee for the exhibition and free beer tasting at the beginning with a half-pint at the end seemed very reasonable. The visit should take you about 2 hours if you wanna walk around and linger. The walk around the property is really nice in itself and the crowd sizes were not overwhelming for the time went (around 1:30-2:00pm during the summer). Staff are helpful and nice. This visit is good for beer aficionados and history geeks alike.
Good reason to explore further and try the train and see a little history from a different perspective.
Nice experience, good length, atmosphere was nice. It was very informative. The fee was reasonable since it was included in the CPH card. There wasn't a big crowd. The staff were amazingly helpful and informative. Best for people interested in history of beer making in Denmark.
One of the better brewery tours we have done with sone good interactive features.
Very well curated and modern exhibition with engaging interactive elements and compelling video storytelling
Nice to learn about the Danish beer brewery history. Alle worth it.
Great way to spend a morning and learn about an innovative company
Worth it much to see and you get free beer!!!
To be honest that's one of the better self seeing museums. Videos of the founder bring the spirit and that little something to it that you just want to follow their steps and know more and more
It is a fun experience for kids
This is the best brewery tour we’ve experienced! Others spend a lot of time on the science of brewing, which can honestly get a little boring. This tour focuses on the brewery’s fascinating history with additional information on philanthropy and other interesting topics. I liked that human experience focus. There are lots of fun interactive experiences along the way. The staff is warm, helpful, and welcoming. Getting to the brewery is an easy train ride from the city center. I highly recommend!
We enjoyed every aspect of this tour, it was much more in depth than other brewery tours we have visited.
Amazing experience, very beautiful environment and very good people that worked there! We were super pleased!!
Amazing time!! Such an interesting place!
The self guided tour was very well done & interesting. The beer at the end was cold & crisp. We also ate at the restaurant the food was excellent, the staff friendly & attentive.
