Itinerary
Drift by the Amalienborg Palace – the winter residence of Denmark’s royals since the 1700s
Experience the Little Mermaid known from the fairy tale of H. C. Andersen.
Cruise around the pretty canals of Christianshavn, with its cobbled streets, pastel-colored houses and old warehouses and hear how King Christian IV established the district in the 1600s as part of his plans to fortify Copenhagen.
Catch a glimpse of the Our Saviour's church with its winding-staircase spire.
Pass Copenhagen Opera House, a stunning contemporary building that stands imperiously on the harborside. The modern building came as a present from Mr. Møller Mærsk.

Loved this canal tour! It was a great way to see the city, learn some history, and decide where I wanted to spend a bit more time / explore on land. The tour guide was knowledgeable, funny, and friendly.
I took the Classic Canal Tour in Copenhagen, and it was a great experience. During the boat trip, I had the opportunity to see many famous landmarks and beautiful places from a completely different perspective. I especially liked the colourful houses in Nyhavn harbour, the historic buildings and the relaxing atmosphere on the water. The tour was enjoyable, and I also learned interesting facts about the history and different places in Copenhagen. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to explore the city in a different way.
The company didn’t tell us the meeting location for the boat trip had changed so we had to run to the new meeting spot 10 minutes away. Turning up just before the boat was due to leave, there were no seats together as a family and those left had no view out of the boat sadly so a complete waste of money. The steward scanning our tickets exhibited unhelpful sarcasm which did nothing to allay our experience.
Overall a very thorough cruise through the harbor and canal. Great attendants and very helpful. Wish we had an interactive crew instead of the auditor with headphones!
Really quick way to see the sights. It was rainy but the boat had heat and was warm. Really helpful guides.
I have booked and my money were taken but I did not get any email with confirmation. So do not know where to go. Very bad experience
This was a great way to see a lot of the sites of Copenhagen but from the water. The cruise commentary was very good and gave us a good insight into the history of the city. Easy to book and find the pick up point.
Well worth it, absolutely enjoyed. Buildings exceptional tourist guide was very interesting and entertaining
Gives a great chance to see and learn about Copenhagen that you wouldn’t be able to unless on a boat.
Nice way to see some parts the city. Try to get a seat on the railing. We were on the aisle in a very crowded boat. It was hard to see some things with so many people on the way.
Fine tour. Uncomfortable seating. Plexiglass windows that have permanently fogged up. Still fun.
Really pleasant trip and we were glad we booked it.. The duration of one hour was perfect. Would recommend.
This hour-long cruise was a nice introduction to the architectural highlights on the canals of central Copenhagen. A couple of things could have been better, starting with the signage for boarding the boat. There are several docks, each numbered, but our ticket did not provide a dock number. We had to get in the same line as people who were purchasing tickets, even though we'd bought our ticket in advance, to find out which dock was ours. This is an audio tour, not a tour with a tour guide, and you can choose one of six languages for the audio. The problem was that the first few minutes of the audio did not jibe with the location of the boat. Passengers kept looking around, puzzled about what was being narrated. Eventually the tour caught up with the audio. As the audio suggests, plan to come back on your own time later to explore places highlighted on this tour.
Fun way to see Copenhagen and get an overview of the city. Great commentary. We went on our first day here. Highly recommend
Overall it was a really good tour. The only downside was the recording was hard to follow at the start so me and a lot of people were looking around trying to find at the tourist spot that was been spoken about. However, maybe 10 mins in, it started to flow very nicely and we all caught each tourist spot. Overall, I'd recommend as it was lovely (reminded me of being in Amsterdam).
Very informative, and great views not to be had any other way. Bring warm clothes.
this was a truly phenomenal welcome to copenhagen. there was an issue with our ticket pdf not displaying a qr code which was very quickly handled by a friendly agent at the ticket window, and we were on our way. our guide, julie, was such a highlight of our entire trip we're still talking about her. very welcoming energy, super funny, great stories, absolutely gorgeous scenery. they recommended kayak bar which we immediately visited when we left the boat, which was also fantastic. couldn't possibly recommend this tour more, it helped give us a sense of what areas to explore more, and we quickly learned two days in copenhagen were not nearly enough! thanks, julie!
Great way to tour the city from the water. The canals are beautiful and the tour guide was excellent. I learned so much about this city in the hour. Highly recommend.
We did two canal cruises and this was by far the better one. Went through half canals and half around the harbour. Audio guide was pretty good (and comes in six languages).
It was very lovely. It's a recorded audio, smooth ride. Not as expensive as other tours. If you are there only for 1-2 days, I recommend it!
This is a lovely tour to take for viewing the main sites and getting orientated in Copenhagen. The guide is very knowledgeable and you experience real contrasts along the canals and the harbour. We really enjoyed this tour and would recommend it to anyone who is visiting Copenhagen for the first time.
This is a low impact, ear buds in kinda tour. It’s a beautiful way to see some of Copenhagen, learn a little and just sit and relax for an hour. You can even buy a beer as you board if that makes things better for you n
Tour was worth it and good value for money! The captain and tour guide were really good and informative.
A great audio guided tour, took us right round the canals talking about all the different buildings and history
Nice view of inner Copenhagen by water. Get there early to secure a seat by the water so you can take pictures unobstructed by heads.
Nice leisurely tour to see the sights of Copenhagen while sitting back with a beverage in hand. Worth the investment of your time.
A very interesting tour with lots of information about the various points on the way. It’s a good hour and remember when the guide says duck keep your head down.
Very good overview of some interesting parts of the city. Especially nice on a sunny day!
Comfortable boat for 100+ touring uncovered thru canals. Informative sites in 6 languages. Bring towel/napkin for seat wiping on early or rainy days
Great way to see the sights of Copenhagen and learn a bit about the city. The tour guide was very funny and friendly. Made the trip a great experience.
Don’t do it when it’s raining and/or windy esp if the boat has no roof! We were rained on! The guide gave us plastic raincoats. The guide and driver did a good job, though!
One hour very efficiency real fun
We saw parts of Copenhagen that we wouldn’t have seen if we hadn’t have been on this tour. What stood out for us was just how well old buildings are repurposed for homes. The tour brought together things we had learned on our previous days walking tour too. Thanks also to our guide who, because it was high tide told us which bridges we needed to duck under, no bumped heads here.
This was a good way to travel around and view the old city area of Copenhagen.
Worth it. - you get to see two countries in one day……..,……………………………………………………….,…………………………………………………..
Nice your that brought us to many different areas. The information is pre-recorded and you receive an earpiece to hear it. You can ask questions to the guide with microphone who tells you to duck for the bridges. I was disappointed that we were seated closer to the back of the boat so we could not ask questions and the guide we had did not repeat the questions or use his microphone to repeat the questions or give us the answers. I wish he had done that.
It is nice to do this in the beginning of your stay. You will get acquainted with the different landmarks in the city. Very easy to find and we bought our tickets ahead of time.
If you have a brief visit to Copenhagen this is the best way to spend the hour. The tours go regularly. We missed the 10am and staff moved us to 10:30 with no issues. The boat driver is very skilled navigating under bridges and in tight turns. The guide was hysterical and knowledgeable. Best tour ever. Seeing Copenhagen from the water was superb. Thank you!
Was a lovely afternoon. Very informative and entertaining. Loved it so much!
Beautiful scenery, relaxing tour through the canals of Copenhagen. Open air so you have a great view from both sides of the boat.
Very good. He takes care each passenger base on their different requirement. He can also answer all questions from all different people.
Great way to see Copenhagen. Our seaway transport consultant Mikala was very informative and helpful.
Get there at least 15 mins (September) prior to disembarking as there will be a queue already. I preferred to sit at the rear left. You can take photos behind you without any obstructions. Left side had more closer points of interest.
Good guide/good captain. Relax and enjoy the beautiful canal zigzags while listening the historical narrative and the peaceful landscape around
Enjoyed the tour and got to learn a lot about the city in a small amount of time. It was a great experience I’d reccomend that all tourists do. We started at 10am then when this finished we had a good idea of where to go explore after. Thanks for being great hosts!
I went by myself to this tour and it was a relaxing hour. The tour was facilitated by wired earphones plugged into the seat, available in six odd different languages. It went on for an appropriate amount of time, and the audio matched the location timing despite being pre-recorded. If you have a spare hour I highly recommend this as a good get your way around tour at the start of your trip.
Emilia was a perfect host presenting the tour with great facts and humor! Our captain kept us safe and moving at a comfortable Pace!!
Worst experience ever. Luckily got refunded by my card company after the tour operator said we should be refunded yet Viator (acting for Trip Advisor) refused. Lousy reservation system with both missing AND misleading information about this tour. Schedules and pickup locations inaccurate, and type of boats unspecified. Witnessed tour operator staff providing inaccurate info to other people in line too. Do not book this tour company! Do not EVER book anything through Viator
I had a fantastic time on the canal boat tour. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and had a lovely sense of humour. Unfortunately the day of our tour it was raining pretty heavily but the boat had sliding roof panels so you could move them up to take photos and lose them again. It was a fantastic way to see Copenhagen especially if you are only there for a short time. Very good value for money and the staff in the booth were great, even allowing us to go on the 30 mins earlier tour instead if having to kill time waiting.
