The Flatirons are rock formations near Boulder, Colorado, consisting of flatirons. There are five large, numbered Flatirons ranging from north to south along the east slope of Green Mountain.
Boulder is a city at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. To the west, the trail-lined Flatirons are craggy rock formations overlooking the city. The University of Colorado Boulder campus is home to the Fiske Planetarium and the Museum of Natural History, with zoology and anthropology exhibits.

Stanley Hotel, famous for its inspiration of the book and movie “The Shining. Some time in 1974, horror writer Stephen King and his wife Tabitha spent one night at the Stanley Hotel. At the time, King was struggling with Darkshine as the working title of his latest project.
Estes Park is a town in northern Colorado. It’s known as a base for the Rocky Mountain National Park, home to wildlife including elk and bears, plus miles of trails.

Well, first of all, what a great time we had with our tour guide Robert! He was friendly and knowledgeable and full of great energy. Our guide was a natural story teller and told us very interesting tales from the Rocky Mountain National Park. We got to see incredible vistas and were able to go off the beaten path. Luckily we were there during the rut so we saw an enormous number of elk. We also saw deer and turkey and chipmunks (loved the chipmunks!). Grateful to Explorer Tours and our guide for a wonderful time and a great adventure in the Rockies! I highly recommend taking this tour and creating your own memories! Ask for Robert.

This was my first trip to Colorado, and this tour was AMAZING!! So glad I booked it. Our tour guide, David, was so knowledgeable and provided us with so much information about different parts of Denver we passed as well as about our destinations. He was friendly and personable. We were lucky and got to see a whole herd of Elk as well as a moose bathing in a water hole. David made every effort for us to be able to watch and experience this wildlife most of us never got to see before. I highly recommend this tour.

We had an incredible day at Rocky Mountain National Park. Our guide Eric was knowledgeable, professional and funny. We were provided with water, snacks and a great lunch that we enjoyed looking out over a beautiful snow capped mountain range with a lake and running stream at our sides. It was an awesome 8 hour trip that was reasonably priced that I would highly recommend to everyone.

Dave, our tour guide picked us up at our airbnb promptly. He helped the five of us settle into a very comfortable van. All five in my group have mobility issues and he accommodated every step of the way. We stopped at a unique deli to pick up excellent lunches in Estes Park and headed into the park. Dave shared important information while allowing us to enjoy the scenery. We saw two large herds of elk, a bald eagles, marmot and sparks blue jays. Dave always stopped, allowing us of time at each spot. I highly recommend Dave and Explorer tours
The Rocky Mountain National Park tour was amazing! Every curve on Trail Ridge Road brought us something new to see. Our guuide, David, was very knowledgeable and helpful. I can not begin to describe the views and wildlife that we saw, but this tour was perfect for me!
