Three local residents and two out of town family went to our 4th annual Escape Room. Everyone agrees that it was a BLAST! Scavenger hunt meets Escape room though we worked as a team. Tons of fun!
Fun and tricky. Good team building game if you want to be outside seeing the city.
Had a blast! It was definitely a little harder than expected given that we’d never done one before - so honestly the hints (or ChatGPT) are your friend for first timers! Really creative concept and we saw parts of the city we would have never seen otherwise. Also, really appreciated the inclusive features (transcriptions for video, color blind help, ect). Also really appreciated the pictures for things that weren’t there anymore - was still able to complete the puzzles. By the end of it we were starting to get the puzzles - but definitely suggest hints if you’re new to it! Overall, had a really incredible time and just really loved the concept.
We had an absolute blast with these puzzles! The puzzles were just the right amount of challenging for us. We did have to use clues on the last one but the other ones were really satisfying when we eventually solved them. We’ve talked about getting this for our family in other cities and also getting these for each new city we visit. We absolutely loved it. We got drinks and lunch along the way and spent a really nice afternoon running around the city. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes puzzles and escape rooms!
We have previously done the Dallas city Whodunnit, and had a really fun time doing the Denver upper downtown activity. It took us about 3 hours, and involved a medium amount of walking which we expected and enjoyed as it took us around some really fun parts of Denver. There was one clue that we found pretty easily but if it was snowing you would have a very difficult time to find it, so be mindful of that when you plan your trip. Also, we decided to park somewhere other than the recommendation from the box, and it was a lot cheaper and still only a short walk.
I am a teacher at The Logan School in Denver. At our school, students have the unique opportunity to choose their unit of study, and my job is to provide them with real-life, hands-on experiences. This year, we used the escape room as a unit experience for our students studying spies, escape rooms, solving crimes, and experience design. We had an incredible time solving the puzzles, and one of our favorite moments was the twist at the end that kept us on our toes! Additionally, we loved discovering the hidden gems on the streets of our city, which changed our perspective and allowed us to appreciate the tiny details of our surroundings in a whole new way. Exploring downtown Denver was not only fun but also a fantastic opportunity for our students to connect with their city on a deeper level—plus, there were some amazing photo ops along the way!Overall, our experience was enriching, enjoyable, and truly memorable. We can’t wait for our next adventure with Escapely!
We were happy that it wasn't too easy. It had a lot of clever puzzles that all required a different approach. Definitely makes good use of a diverse group with varied skills. I do not know Denver at all, but that didn't make it any more difficult. Fun to do an escape "room" outside! I recommend early morning to avoid big crowds. We will definitely do Escapely in it other cities. FYI, drinks at Vibe coffee shop were great, but the food was really overpriced for crappy microwaved sandwiches. I recommend going somewhere else for breakfast! Including a Denver photo just for fun that has nothing to do with the game, so we don't give any puzzles away!
Nice way to spend the day and explore Denver. We enjoyed being able to take it at our own pace and stop for a bite to eat. We are grateful the construction didn’t block view of some of the clues.
My friends and I had a blast playing this game around Denver! It was great to see new parts of the city and engage with public art that we might have just walked by int the past. We enjoyed the ability to go at our own pace, stopping for food or coffee breaks along the way. So fun!
We had a great time with the Escape Denver game! There were many clever and fun clues and a couple tough ones that we had to use a hint (or two) for. But we finished and had a lot of fun. Had a nice walk around the area. The amount of walking was just right.
This was a fun experience! We did it as a family with a 11 and 12 year old, and as veterans of a handful of escape rooms, it was a nice difficulty level for a family. We did split it into 2 mornings due to our children's attention spans. It's even fun as Denver natives to find and explore areas we may not as much as we should. Would definitely recommend and look into when visiting other cities.
It was a fantastic experience. The clues were challenging and yet solvable. If we got stuck, we could get a hint. At one point, we needed to call Escapely. They were helpful and supportive. It's perfect for school age children to do with adults. We learned a lot about Denver. I would do it again in a different city!!!
Had a great time walking around Denver with family solving puzzles. The puzzles were challenging but they do a fantastic job of giving you a few or as many hints as you need. Even when we got hints we were still able to solve parts of the problem on our own.
It was fun! We found the puzzles challenging but solvable. We did run into a few challenges because of my mobility limitations - there were stairs to go down. Otherwise it was very fun.
I highly recommend this game! The puzzles prompted us to see many things in our home town that we never noticed before, and had a great family day!
I personally loved it. Tho some of the clues were kind of hard and required some hints. Was a good game. Got to see parts of history of the city and hot spots.
We had a great time learning about downtown Denver but for us, it took a bit longer than 2-3 hours to figure out all the clues. All in all I would definitely recommend having this adventure with family and friends. We had a blast.
Great puzzles, fun narrative, found stuff I've never seen as a Denver native. Would love to try another game in another city!
My wife and I did this for our 1 year anniversary weekend in Denver. We had an absolute blast. We turned it into a pub-crawl. After each section we would go to the next location, collect data/photos and find a place for a drink and a bite to figure out the puzzle. It was really awesome seeing landmarks and art we had never seen before despite being (basically) locals. Highly recommended! 10/10. Can't wait to hit up some other cities and complete Escapely there as well!
My wife and I have tried several similar puzzle games, but this was the first one that involved a real world component, and in our opinion it was the best one we have tried. Maybe because the real-world component made the puzzles feel less contrived? We had a great time!
Very cool experience! Like a scavenger hunt with puzzles that lets you explore parts of the city you may not have known about before
My family had a great time figuring out solutions together and exploring parts of Denver we would typically overlook. The game is challenging and fun. Great recommendation for coffee in there too!
Fun way to get out and about in Denver! The team building component was fun, it's interesting to see the different ways people approach and solve problems together. Everyone has a role in it! We had lots of good laughs together and created some cool memories.
I've always wanted to participate in The Amazing Race and this was such a fun local version. I was definitely sprinting to the finish as if Phil was going to be there. I must admit, I was a bit skeptical at first but holy smokes was it a blast. Highly recommend doing this with your company and if you're having an event where folks are meeting each other for the first time plan this for the beginning of the week. It's a great, natural ice breaker.
This is a really fun way to get to know a city better, whether you live there or are just visiting. It's like a combination outdoor escape room and self-guided walking tour. Clues and puzzles are specific to city landmarks that bake in local history. We had out of town guests, 4 adults and two pre-teens. The puzzle difficulty is just right with the kids solving some that stumped the adults and vice versa. The hints are useful - we were appropriately challenged without needing too many hints but they are well-written to nudge you towards the solution without giving it away. Two to three hours is about right unless you're stopping a lot to eat and drink. I would definitely do this again with a new puzzle or a new city.
We had an absolute blast! We will definitely be ordering this experience for other cities during our travels and as gifts for friends. Our favorite part was the relaxed pace. We loved the ability to take our time, stop for a meal or a drink, and enjoy a spontaneous and adventurous night. Traditional escape rooms often put us on a strict time limit, leading to a more structured evening. This experience, however, allowed us to explore at our own pace. For instance, we stumbled upon a martini bar that our friend had forgotten about and decided to detour for a drink before continuing on. The difficulty level was high, and we did need the hints. It might be obvious somewhere and we missed it, but we realized that the "adjustable" difficulty really pertains to the hints. Choose your level and start with opening hints early. If you don't need them, you are awesome. We will be ordering more experiences whenever we travel to a new city. This has turned a normal night out into an incredibly fun way to enjoy our time together and explore new areas.
The game was so much fun, I bought another one for my son and his friends to play. The difficulty level was a little higher than I expected, but having unlimited hints made it perfect. we would use a hint then try to figure it out again, then use the next hint, etc. I’m excited to see how we compare with my son who loves escape rooms and puzzles. Also, I have lived here forever and the game introduced me to things I didn’t know were there. Totally great. I would play again if there were games for other neighborhoods in my city too.
My husband and I have done quite a lot of puzzle games and escape rooms over the years so we have a pretty well tuned sense of what works and what doesn't in these type of games. I am thrilled to report that almost everything about this game works perfectly! It is incredibly well designed with just the right level of difficulty, just the right amount of time and just the right amount of walking. It helped me to look at downtown Denver in a whole new way. Now the next time I go to a new city, I will be eager to try other escapely games.
