We all had great fun. The guides were funny and friendly. The river was incredible. The entire family had a great time.

A knowledgeable and skilled guide, Mark gave us a lot of history of the area as he guided us over the rapids. Rafting in low water conditions can be as challenging as high water. Everyone on the JourneyQuest staff were kind, friendly and respectful. They really demonstrate their Christian faith in their work.
Was a great experience, very knowledgeable guides.
Amazing day on the river with the best guide, Rebeca!!! She was knowledgeable, clearly talented on the water, super fun and kept us safe. Ask for her when you book your trip.
Gillian! She was a fantastic guide. We had laughs, fun and a lot of great stories. It is a small family owed company and every decision is very thoughtful and intentional. Thank you
First of all outstanding staff in accommodating my needs and explaining the different trips to match my expectations. The guide, Mark, was so awesome in preparing us for the trip and how to handle any situation. Once on the river he guided us perfectly through a lot of big water so professionally. Everyone in the raft worked so well together under his leadership and instructions. He also was a well informed person of the history of the river and sites we passed olong the way. I gave been whiterwater rafting for over 20 years and this was one of my best experiences. Can’t wait till next year. Will definitely use Journey Wiest exclusively for my whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River.
We loved our trip! We have been rafting for several years and this is the first time with this company and they were terrific! Mark, our guide, did tell a couple corny jokes (dead dog tree, no bark) but we managed to live through it!
Great experience, friendly, professional and helpful staff who are very safety conscious and determined to provide a an awesome time.
Mark and Chris were wonderful guides. They told stories, jokes, and what we saw as we moved down the river. They made sure to help us feel comfortable and encouraged us all along the way. The whole group had a great day.
Our trip was Epic! Luke was a terrific guide and very knowledgeable about the History of the Royal Gorge and how to navigate the rapids. I was cold during the morning half of trip and at lunch Luke called in for a dry jacket and a fleece to add warmth. I had no idea that Journey Quest was part of a Christian Wilderness Ministry when I booked, but there really isn’t any religious components to the trip except for a quick safety prayer at the beginning of the trip- which I think was an added bonus. Luke kept us safe- and it was an beautiful adventure!
Outstanding day rafting trip through the gorge with 3 class 5 and multiple class 4 rapids. Mark and his team are amazing. Best place to raft the Arkansas River. This was our third family trip and it only gets better each time.
The entire experience was amazing from a quick and easy check in, to equipment fitting, safety talk, to the actual rafting. We did the half day kayaking trip with Chris and then the next day we did the full day Royal Gorge rafting trip with Emmaline. Both are phenomenal guides and just great people to get to know and hang out with as well. After, we were able to see and purchase about 50 pictures of us for each day, which was really cool. I would highly recommend Journey Quest. I chose them over the larger commercial rafting companies because they allow less people in the rafts and are definitely more personalized. The next time we will be in the area (hopefully next year) I will be booking another trip with them.
The entire trip was fantastic, but rafting through the gorge was breathtaking! Mark (owner and our guide) was a highly skilled, informative and wonderful host!
We absolutely loved our full day on the River with Journey Quest!! My first rafting experience, my husbands 3rd. Mark, the owner and our guide was exceptional! Professional, personable, knowledgeable and could be somewhat funny at times. We also met his wife Sara and the whole staff. All were very kind and helpful. We started the day with a group prayer on the boat and from there it was nothing but an awesome experience, both challenging and fun!! The Royal Gorge was absolutely stunning and full of history! My husband and I are retired from the Navy, we’ve been around the world and done a lot! I can honestly say this was one of the BEST adventures we’ve ever had! We highly recommend Journey Quest & already discussing what our next adventure with them will be! Thank you Mark, Sara & the whole team! P.S. the pictures that were taken along the River are outstanding! That was a nice surprise to have this rememberable moment captured so well! God bless you and may He continue to bless Journey Quest.
Best White water rafting in Colorado! I’ve been to multiple white water rafting tours across the US and this one knocks all of them out of the water!
We completed a full day rafting trip. I can't say enough about the trip. If you are looking for a smaller, more intimate experience, this is the company for you. for those of you with minimal experience rafting, you can do this! I had some reservations going into it, however those were relieved once we were moving along the water. While enjoying the views and the exhilaration of "running" the rapids, i always felt safe. Mark, our guide, gave us excellent instruction is safety measures and coached us along the way.
Our guild Emaline was the best! The whole Journey Quest crew was outstanding. Best rafting company on the River
This was our 2nd time we went with this company. I would not use any other company. All the employees are so nice & helpful. This year we had Conner as our river guide he kept us entertained & explained things to us . Our ages went form 8 almost 9 - 66. There was 7 of us . Picture wet suits& jackets all included in the price
Journey Quest provided a great rafting experience. All of the guides and office personnel were so friendly. I think it was more of a personal experience (and less expensive) than you get with some of the "bigger" rafting companies in the area. Would do another trip with them without hesitation. The Christian aspect is low key and not preachy, so don't let that scare you off.
We have went on many raft trips with our family and this one surpassed them all! I would recommend Journey Quest to everyone! Their guides' training is the best around! All their guides and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. You have many options for your family to take on the river...from a nice family float for all ages to a very challenging trip through the Royal Gorge for older teens! You will not be disappointed! I love that is a Christian company that prays before you take your exciting journey on the river also. The prices are amazing also! I would highly recommend this company to everyone! We went on the full day trip through the Royal Gorge with four teenagers with lunch in the middle and everyone had an amazing time!
Journey Quest is a smaller company so they are the best go to go with as opposed to the large scale companies that take massive amounts of boats down the river every day. With a small company we stopped to swim and cliff jump which the bigger companies didn't have time for. Great company I would highly recommend. BTW - I was a guide for three years with a larger company so I know a great company
We enjoyed the full day being on the river enjoying the beauty of God's creation. There were exciting moments but our guide was great!
There are dozens of rafting companies to choose from on the Arkansas River, but I'd highly recommend choosing Journey Quest for a more personal river experience. Our guide was a professional in every sense of the word. He shared many stories of his experiences as a guide and history of the river, and he really customized the river experience for our family which you might not get with one of the larger companies. The large rafting companies proved a consistent experience for the masses, but Journey Quest does a great job connecting with their clients on a personal level. All of their staff was helpful and kind. I've rafted with several companies in the past, but I'm sure to return Journey Quest.
Actually we did three days of rafting on the Arkansas, culminating with the Royal Gorge experience. The water level was still high enough that the river was running at 2000 - 2400 cfs, so we had a few class 4 rapids. Our guide Mark Anderson was truly an expert who trained us, kept us safe, and inspired us on this unforgettable adventure. He shared interesting and factual information relative to historical events that had taken place along the river. He also prepared delicious meals for all three days, and his colleague Daniel set up tents and prepared our campsites along the way. We were provided with helmets and wetsuits, and In addition to being an amazing and inspirational wilderness guide and outfitter, Mark is a man of strong Christian faith. He prayed with us, and shared the origin of Journey Quest along with his personal witness. We read and discussed excerpts from the Bible and prayed together both on and off the river. I wish there were more than five stars in this review. I won’t forget the experience! Fun, thrilling, educational, and inspirational at so many levels. I urge everyone to ride the river with Journey Quest! NOTE: In selecting “who was with us” in the review, there was not an option for Family (adults) so I selected Family (teens). It was my adult grandson, his dad, and his other granddad.
My father, father-in-law, son and I just got back from a three day trip with Journey Quest. I cannot recommend these folks highly enough. Mark, Steve, Daniel, and the entire team are simply amazing. Our group ranged in age from 23 to 76 and EVERYONE had a good time. Journey Quest focused on two things: 1) Safety and 2) Fun! They succeeded at both. On a multi-day trip we had breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided along the way. What is more, Daniel had our tents setup as we floated into camp every evening. My son told me he felt like we had someone joined camping adventures with five-star resort service. In addition, to fun, Mark provided insightful information regarding the history of the river and even taught us to "read the river" along the way. I think both the grandfathers are ready to be guides :) Thank you again, Mark and the entire Journey Quest team for an amazing adventure.
Every step of this trip was top notch! From the check-in and instructions to the actual raft trip, my family and I were treated extremely well and we had an absolute blast! Our guide, Mark, gave us very detailed safety guidelines and took every precaution to make sure we had all of our safety gear ready to go and that we understood techniques and tips on rafting and what to do in the case of unforeseen circumstances. Mark did an excellent job of navigating our trip and giving us clear directions while we were rowing so that we were able to enjoy the class 4-5 rapids as first time rafters. Journey Quest also provided us with some spectacular photos of our trip. Lunch was delicious too!
We did a full day trip with Journey Quest. We had an outstanding experience. Mark was our guide and he was fantastic. He did not rush us through the day at all. He stopped several times along the way to let us swim, explore and jump off the canyon walls into the water. Safety was always top of mind with Mark. He did an excellent job of telling us what to expect before we left and he provided excellent direction in the water. The Royal Gorge does not disappoint! The rapids are big, fast and a lot of fun. I’d highly recommend Journey Quest for your family. I’d also recommend the full day trip. Beautiful scenery, and a lot of exhilarating experiences for your entire family. A great lunch is also provided.
It was a blast in the gorge with these guys! The group I was with was nervous all the way until we were through a couple small rapids. From there our guide led us through some fun 4s and kept everybody energized the whole way through.
