The tour was a great experience. We really enjoyed learning about the history of the gold rush. Then to experience what it was like to actually be in a mine was great.

10/10 recommend! Our guide Jorge was amazing
Cave tour was interesting and enjoyed the stop in Idaho Springs. Felt like we spent too much time in the van and didn't need the bumpy ride on the OMG road. Would have preferred if the tour guide would have walked us around Central City and talked about some of the historic building and landmarks instead of just dropping us off at the Casino.
Jorge was amazing , very knowledgeable and friendly
A nice trip, beautiful sites, script a bit redundant.
Really enjoyed this experience. Our tour guide was wonderful. He was very funny and engaging with everyone on the trip.
Wow what a great trip! anne was so amazing and friendly! We hope to go on another trip soon!
Loved this 5.5 hour afternoon tour. Christin was friendly, knowledgeable and provided us with photo memories of our trip at no extra cost. The minibus was clean , comfortable and air conditioned. Tour group was 6 which meant our guide was able to give a personal touch and allowed us the space to able to ask questions. The scenery on the journey was stunning and tour stops were well chosen and fascinating insights into the history of hard rock mining in the mountains. Highlight for me was the underground mine tour, panning for gold and seeing the mines resident chipmunks ! I’d definitely recommend this tour.
Took us to some of the old mining towns and let us walk around. Talked about the history of the area, which was very informative. The mine tour was really cool as well seeing how the process worked.
Our guide's name was Hans. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He made the experience very enjoyable with his wit and humor. You have a great employee and I hope you treat him well.
Very interesting history of mining in Colorado. Fair amount of time riding in van was filled with commentary and observations. Our guide, Will, was full of knowledge He was a great guide
It was fun. Not exactly what I was expecting but I did have a good time. The travel guide was great. She was knowledgeable and personable.
Awesome, personable tour. Will was an amazing tour guide with lots of knowledge about the area and the mines.
Our group of four was blown away by the kindness and knowledge of our guide. We learned a lot of interesting facts along the entire route of our tour and felt very well taken care of. The gold mine was a highlight, and the entire trip was a better experience for us than we could have had just driving around on our own. We'll remember this as the fun adventure we were looking for in Colorado.
Fun tourist thing to do. Typical mine tour with panning for gold option. Nice surprise in taking the dirt "back door" road between Idaho Springs and Central City.
Will is great tour guide. The copilot and I loved it. We saw so many places and old mines. Very informative.
Hans, our tour guide, was a retired school teacher. He was very personable, knowledgeable, and friendly. He frequently checked in to make sure everyone in the tour group was having fun, comfortable, and take care of. The tour was fantastic, the mine and panning for gold were wonderful as well. Definitely a must-do for anyone even tangentially interested in history, geology, or learning about the state!
Colorado Sightseer was incredibly reliable and responsive to our inquiries. Christine on the WhatsApp line was super helpful, clarifying our doubts and efficiently handling our bookings for the Golden Mine tour and Red Rocks tour. Our tour guides, Matt and Stephen, were outstanding - knowledgeable, engaging, and made the trip a blast! 😊 Both tours were totally kid-friendly, with convenient stops for hydration, washrooms, and photo ops. Highly recommend!
Alex did an amazing job and kept us entertained with conversation and facts. It made the rude to and from go by so quickly. The actual mine tour was great very informative and entertaining too. I would highly recommend this tour especially if you are interested in gold mining.
It was great. Hans did a terrific job of explaining the history of the area. Also asked us about our expectations. Then tailored each stop to things we expressed interest in.
Awesome experience with knowledgeable and accomodating tour guide ,not too long ride , food is ok with safe drive back to Denver
The guide did a good job. Felt we didn’t get what we were promised. Thought we were going to two mines and Idaho Springs and Georgetown. Only went to one mine and Idaho Springs.
Alex did a great job. Very informative and funny. I did not tip him but I should have. If I could get in touch with him personally I would send him a tip.
Alec was a great guide ! Enjoyed the backroads and seeing the old mines. He has a lot of knowledge about the Gold rush era and did am awesome job sharing it with the group.
Guide, Laurel, did a fantastic job. Gold mine was exceptional, not much else though, in my opinion, too much time driving.
Ronan was an amazing guide. He was friendly and informative and gave us a lot of history and I’m interesting facts about the area. We had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this tour
This tour was cancelled by the operator the evening before the event We had no time to source a similar tour (only in the area for 1day) so transferred to a different tour with same company The new tour was very good and slightly cheaper (hopefully will get a refund) but disappointed original tour was cancelled
Hans was an excellent tour guide. He was informative, funny, and made sure everyone was included in the conversation. We went to two quaint mining towns and then on to the mine. That part of the day was led by an expert from the mine. It was an amazing experience. I highly recommend this tour.
What an outstanding experience! The whole journey was a lesson in the history of mining through some amazing scenery… and casinos lol! Paul, at the mine itself was fantastic; took us through the whole process and made it very entertaining and a worthwhile experience. Would highly recommend enjoying this activity when you visit Denver.
We found the tour exhilarating as an occasion to come face to face with the real Americana - the Colorado Gold Rush. Our guide Will made the tour a comprehensive presentation of this page of the American history, weaving a captivating narrative on our way there. And a special bonus was the tour of the Phoenix mine with the charismatic Daniela, a true professional, with the knowledge of the mine and the mining process inside out, and more. So, we truly experienced the mine through her animated and captivating tour, including the tools and the process. In addition, she is such a vivacious and lovely person! A fascinating tour overall!
Capital prize goldmine tours was great, the guide gave us all a really informative tour of the mine. Colorado sightseer guide was great too and drove us to all places of interest with lots of information about the towns.
Great day! Tour was fantastic & our group was so fun. Our guide was so nice & did a great job thru a crazy traffic day. We saw & experienced a gold mine! How cool is that!
Great Tour good guide and exciting experience and had good tour stops lots of stuff to see was a wonderful experience
We had a beautiful day to explore Clear Creek canyon, Central City, some ghost towns and the gold mine. Our guide, Will, was open to our questions & gearing the tour more towards our interests. We had a lovely half day tour.
The tour guide, an older female, (sorry can’t recall her name at the moment) was really great and personable If she knew the answer, then she would tell us the background of it as well.
Incredible tour Will had personality to match the knowledge of Colorado. Have had tours around the world and this one takes cake 🍰
The gold rush tour wasn't available so I was given the rocky mountains winter/spring parks tour. Definitely worth going on. Estes is a beautiful little mountain down. No complaints.
If you are going for a short trip and have limited time, this is an ok option to learn about the area and get the gist of how mining is done. But it's kind of tacky. I had taken a different all day tour 2 days before and it was extremely informative and covered a broad area. The gold mine is short. Time spent in Central City was nice, but we were there before everything opened (other than casinos). I'd recommend spending the whole day on a Rocky Mountain National Park tour.
Our tour guide was very knowledgable and funny. We asked many questions and he had no issues answering them! Overall, he made the trip very enjoyable!
This was a really fun tour. Our tour guide was a super nice guy. He was knowledgeable about the area and made several beautiful stops along the way up to the mine. Thanks for a pleasurable day.
The trip we took was just the four of us and one additional person that joined our group. Due to flight cancelations the other people had to cancel. The Owner guided our trip herself. The first thing she asked was our names and what we wanted to see on the trip. Due to the size of the group, she let us spend more time at the locations that we were more interested in. My 10-year-old son wanted to pan for gold all day!! The group talked over the amount of time we wanted to spend at each stop, and she was more than accommodating. We learned so much and had a great understanding of how hard life in the gold rush must have been. When we head back to Denver we are going to sign up for more trips. If you are on the fence and enjoy history, great views, and very nice family-owned business that wants to make sure you have a great trip you are in the wright place!!
Absolutely terrific tour!!! Kristen had many historic tidbits to share that truly enhanced the experience. This tour is a must if you are in the Denver area.
Alex was a GREAT guide. He was very informative and could answer any question asked. We had a wonderful time!
Brilliant knowlegable guide - fun day out with small group. All on time and trip to mine was well worth it although no gold found
Interesting tour, but paced slow enough that it felt like more should have been included. I would place the value around $65, not $95 pp. You get interesting facts like you would with any tour, but I would recommend a different tour if someone only had a half day available.
Brilliant tour guides Christin and Frank. Gold mine and ghost town and mountains as well as some wildlife sightings. The drive was smooth. Huge amount of Colorado history imparted by guides.
We lucked out with a beautiful sunny day! Our tour guide was knowledgeable and accommodating to the passengers’ needs.
So much fun! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, and made sure to bring us to beautiful spots for photos. There was time for shopping in local stores, the van was clean and comfy, and we had a great time!
We are a family of five, first time in Colorado. I really wanted the mine tour so I emailed Colorado Sightseer. They are accommodating, they opened a new tour for us. We were lucky to have one of the owners, Christine, tour us. She’s very knowledgeable, patient, and, even added extra places for us to see. The mine tour highlights the history of CO gold, the influx of people in a state where no one wants to live at that time. We visited abandoned mines, an active mine, and other surrounding areas. It is a must see in a CO travel especially the history buff. This tour gives you an idea on how CO started out before statehood. Go and learn!
Sit back and enjoy the ride is my advice for anyone that signs up for this. It's worth it. It truly it is.
